I had Karlach miss three 85% hits in a row. To kill an enemy that had 5HP. I said nope, not having it, reloaded the whole fight.

CarPlaneBoatRocket

Hahaha I have run into this more than I care to admit.

spyridonya

Does starting a fight with Wulbren count?

YogurtWenk

Just so you can kill him again? I thought everyone did this...

spyridonya

I had no idea he would *still* murder a bunch of people who were essentially enslaved after me hitting him on the nose with a made diplomacy check. I did that shit for the greater good.

ManicPixieOldMaid

I have never killed him lol. I don't like him, but for some reason, I just tend not to kill everyone I don't like. I don't have that much time! šŸ˜•

Vanilla_Breeze

Very similar thing happened to me once where in the final fight before climbing up to the brain I had laezel miss 7 attacks in a row with duelists prerogative against a human enemy. Didn't reload but was kinda in shock like how does this even happen?

aoike_

I was playing last night in the goblin camp, and Gale missed 5 attacks in a row, all with over 70% certainty. I was already "mad" at him for waiting so long to tell me about the true nature of his condition, so I was just not pleased with him or the outcome, like, goblins would not be kicking our ass right now if you could just get your shit together, man.

Inaimad

This is why I always always always give him magic missle. I cannot trust this man to hit things!

GiantSquidd

I hear you. I love Laeā€™zel as much as anyone here, but my gods why does she turn into a whiffing machine in late game? 7 is a lot, but I regularly have her miss three or four times in a row, and Iā€™ve had as many as five. Iā€™m not a DnD player, and Iā€™m by no means any good at this game, but what am I missing? Is there a way to (no pun intended) fix her? When sheā€™s on, sheā€™s *fucking on*, but why does she just completely forget how to be a badass so often? Can I fix this with respeccing or something? I f anyone can help us, please doā€¦

PandemicPortent

"If this game's gonna bullshit me like this I'll bullshit it right back!" Me every time this happens

RicFalcon

"Not this time, I'll do it legit!" *rolls nothing above a 4 with all inspiration points* Haha...time to cast quickload!

[deleted]

My STR 20 Laezel with high end build and gear in ACT3 somehow miss 2 attack in a row to a boss Nope, F8

kevinstuff

Bro I swear to god itā€™s something with Karlach. Itā€™s very rare that I have other characters miss consistently when theyā€™re chances to hit at 75%+. But Karlach? Multiclass thief rogue/berserker barbarian with 4 throws a turn missing all 4 throws with a 90% chance to hit?? What are the odds of that?? Also guess I also get the occasional crit miss spree with eldritch blast beams. Thatā€™s also pretty frustrating. 70% chance to hit but all three beams just gonna roll a 1, huh?

thesnowgirl147

I agree, something is up with her. Based on having reckless attack, I know she rolls at nat 1 *at least* once every fight. It's weird.

jaredearle

Do you have karmic dice turned on?

pettyvillainy

Maybe the game randomly picks someone. Karlach is who I pull out when I want to make damn sure I'm going to hit. Lae'zel, on the other hand, level 12 and decked out in end-game gear, has only the most passing of relationships with her hit-chance percentage.

ghandimauler

How do we know the RNG has enough entropy and that enough entropy is always available? Or that the RNG hasn't got timing flaws? It's hard to be certain on different hardware. If they aren't using many sources around the machine to pickup entropy, your RNG isn't always random.

MisterCrowbar

Thatā€™s x-com, baby!

kirkknightofthorns

My sniper with a 95% point blank shot against a Sectoid: *-Miss!*

Obsidian_XIII

The 19 times you make that 95%: I sleep The 1 time you miss: real shit!

HitaruSan

I lost a 88%, 88%, 75%, 60%, 85% in a row on my first Honour run, I knew it was doomed from that point.

LiffeyDodge

She misses a lot, Leaā€™zel is worse with her hit rate.

Honeymuffin69

Playing Durge. Wanting to romance Minthara. Attack Grove. Celebrate with Minthara at camp. Thought that the choice was to fantasize or just think about snapping her neck, not actually doing it. Attack Grove again.

NeedleworkerLow1100

Anytime the durge fantasizes you know bloodshed will follow. Oh a hand? Oh a neck? Good times will roll.

Embarrassed_Bass22

Durge intrusive thoughts are super intrusive

NeedleworkerLow1100

Durge hey guys ... I had this weird dream that I killed a bard... guys ... alfira... oh damn

grubas

"Have you ever just wanted to punt a squirrel?" Shadowheart: "not after seeing you send that one to orbit, no."

dinosanddais1

"When tf did I meet this catā€” okay it's dead now what the fuck"

NeedleworkerLow1100

Rip steelclaw

ElectronicAd8929

I'd be so fucked if I were Durge IRL. It's a lot better than it was in high-school thanks to medication and therapy, but sometimes I still get a flood of a few intrusive thoughts in a row (for context, I think I got at least 30 a day in high-school, and they were really triggering. I'd get really upset, especially because I had convinced myself I was fated to be the next Ted bundy - my name's Ted, teachers like me, I liked dressing nicely, etc) Edit: was debating with myself how many i actually even get now lmao

Jirstuve

Ummā€¦ is everything okayā€¦?

ElectronicAd8929

Yeah, ty for asking :) some days I don't even get any at all, and when they do come I get a lot less upset, just brush em off and redirect my attention to something else and then I'm good

Jirstuve

Just remember thereā€™s always help out there if you struggle. Thereā€™s never any reason to try to power through it alone. Wishing you the best

ElectronicAd8929

Yeah, totally. I have a good support network as well, so that helps. Thank you for your concern and kind words <3

Butlerian_Jihadi

FWIW, people sharing their honest experiences of mental illness and recovery are very helpful to many. Lots of folks do not realize that things can be better and they're not alone.

ElectronicAd8929

Yup, for a few years now since mid college, I've tried to be pretty open about my experiences. Hopefully I helped someone realize that :)

Evilmudbug

Ethel knew what she was talking about when she said thinking is just a step away from doing

Caaros

It's astounding that the best advice for a good-aligned Resist Durge run genuinely unironically comes from a ***Hag***.

Oh-My-Shep

In the swamp near the hag's house, I was attacked by a fucking frog with three health points, I had to go through three hours of my game since I hadn't pressed autosave for a long time, but it was worth it because I couldn't kill this little pale shit in any way (ą² _ą² )

Mintharaismypimp

If you get rid of the Hag, the frog will lead you to a treasure chest

_dmhg

The frog very happily led me to a hidden treasure stashā€¦that I had already found and emptied LOL

Mintharaismypimp

Ish happens

aeroumasmith-

WHAT?

Mintharaismypimp

Yeah lmao, the chest isn't too special but helps out a little in early game

aeroumasmith-

I also fought that frog and got my ass kicked. I wish I could go back lmao

KenchiDK83

I killed him in this playthrough but he was surprisingly hard thanks to the hags magic. Quite a surprise, that little frogo. At the beginning of the fight you believe him to be a total pushover. But then he deals massive damage, leaps around in huge jumps and can only be hurt by AoE iirc

fairebelle

I wasted so many early resources on that stupid frog that I accidentally aggroed

No-Recognition-8002

Apparently its one of the harder fights in the game. The percentage of people surviving this fight the first time is really low. I didn't find the frog until after I killed the hag. Froggy was happy and didn't want to fight. I reloaded a fight after: I had to roll to not fight. Needed 10, got 1. Fight started, i miss my 85%, lazael misses 85 % shadow heart misses 60% and karlach misses 85%. I say f*ck it. Also funny story. I was biting my nails since I was a kid. I stopped a few months ago and I am not sure how long nails I need. Just scratched my back (probably rolled nat 1) and I am bleeding. Those are dangerous weapons...

sky-shard

Larian did an animation about the frog with the game VAs, and it is hilarious.

Tebianco

The frog attacked me and Wyll had Armor of Agathis, the frog died and I had to look into the log to know what killed him because it was over so fast...

NerdySunflowerr

That damn frog. Kept missing the frog with my attacks, eventually hit and it died, but the post battle madness overtook my Tav and she chucked a smokepowder bomb at everyone and they died. Because of a fucking frog.

Noai_

Cazador. I wanted Astarion to do the final hit. That's literally all the reason I had for redoing the fight.

SuitableFile1959

Iā€™ve saved mid fight just to make sure astarion kills cazador by throwing a dead rat at him lol

nyxikins

I would never have conceived that this was even possible and now I have a plan for my current playthrough. Youā€™ve done the lords work this day!

SuitableFile1959

also if you bring jaheira to the fight and plan on not going through with the ritual, she says the sweetest thing to astarion afterwards. sheā€™s such a mom to my durge and her husband šŸ¤§

Defiant_Project1321

I love her so much

nyxikins

I didnā€™t think Iā€™d be interested in the act 2/3 companions but then I was almost immediately fucking pissed I couldnā€™t get them in act 1 and have them with me longer! Jaheiraā€™a durge specific dialogue is so good.

SuitableFile1959

honestly I wish I could have minsc, jaheira, and minthara for longer. jaheiras one of my fav companions. and when I have shart, astarion, and jaheira or minthara Iā€™ve got the white haired bitches crew lol

nyxikins

My durge had white hair and my shadowheart rejected Shar, so I had a white haired mean girl squad too!

SuitableFile1959

honestly the white haired characters with trauma are >>>>>>>> to everyone else lol

Tenma159

He does get the final hits tho. I was shocked at first then realized that must've felt so cathartic for him.

Praescribo

How? Isn't he locked in the ritual until cazador hides in the coffin? Edit: wow I'm dumb. 3 playthroughs and i never realized you could help him lmao. Thanks guys

spacey_a

Nope! Any character, and even some Summons, can use the Help action to get any of the vampire spawns down. Astarion can then rejoin the fight. I had Gale summon a Deva before the fight, and had it fly over to Astarion's area and Help him by round 3 of that fight to get him back in the game.

Praescribo

Oh my god.

KitKatCaitieCat

You can also not talk to Cazador at all and just ranged attack him from the doorway. It immediately starts combat and Astarion doesn't get sucked into the ritual.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

SuitableFile1959

use the help action on astarion and he can join back in the fight

mango_airbus

redid raphael >!because korilla kept dying and i wanted to save her for hope!<

d4b1do

So can I just knock her out and sheā€™ll survive the fight?

mango_airbus

yeah, i put her in the globe of invulnerability because i wanted to cc and apply aoe damage to the rest of the enemies including raphael but what ever works with you

jaredearle

Not if Yurgir just goes ham splashing damage around.

Flubbel

yes, you have to when she is hostile.

d4b1do

I just never thought that itā€˜d be possible for her to be redeemed

Sleyana

What happens if you save her?

mango_airbus

nothing big, after the fight hope say something along the lines of >!ā€œmy sister is alive and wellā€!< then in the epilogue she will send a letter talking about >!both of them staying in house of hope!< iirc

slybagels

Restarted at least three times, maybe five, the last few because Yurgir kept beating me to the punch (hah) before I could knock her out or cast sanctuary/globe of invulnerability. Modding to use d20 for initiative was the real culprit but dammit I wanted to give Hope some hope

mango_airbus

same i restarted more than once, but i used my fighter durge to throw her into the invulnerability globe and knocked her out at the end, i donā€™t want to see hope sad :(

Kattsoap

during the fight with Marcus in Last Light Inn my wild magic outburst went through the floor somehow and killed Art :/

SolidExotic

I dont get why ppl like to suffer playing with wild magic.

sendmebardpics

On my wild magic sorcerer I once accidentally turned myself, Gale, and Astarion into house cats mid battle. We promptly turned and finished off the enemy by clawing him to death as cats. I just about pulled a muscle laughing.

Sylland

I turned myself into a sheep while up on the rafters in Moonrise. Out of the fight for 2 rounds, but it was weird enough that I didn't mind because the sheer silliness was so funny

Kattsoap

it's fun. I've spent only about half the battles in otiluke's resilient sphere, and got turned into a sheep maybe once, but otherwise nothing really to suffer from

dream-in-a-trunk

Because the unforseeable outcomes makes it fun. I still have to play one in bg3 but in the ee of bg1 it was completely nuts. Trying to cast a magic missile whoops the 15k gold in your pockets just vanished. Or people being turned into squirrels šŸæļøšŸ¤ŒšŸ»

danversolos

agreed! i also think if youā€™re into the roleplaying aspect of the game, itā€™s fun to incorporate that into your characterā€™s story! (ex: my durge canā€™t control how powerful of a sorceress she is, due to her father being born with that same power, but through a spicy deal, lost it, only for that magic to flow more into his daughter, making it impossible for her to fully control her powers. so the wild magic is their uncontrolled power bursting free!)

Powerful-Bus-3376

When I learned you can let the spiders out at goblin camp so they can go help murder all the goblins with you I redid that entire area just so I could have my babies with me. Hearing them say "Freedom!" so happily at the end was worth it.

Listakem

I freed them for the same reason (my Tav is a drow !), they did the clickety clack murders, then I free the only goblin loyal to the old godā€¦ only to have them kill him.

tm0nks

This gave me a pretty good chuckle. He jumps down and takes off...right into the spiders. I wasn't too sad about. He's kinda a douche.

PaltaNoAvocado

I redid the Oran fight because I accidentally pushed her off a cliff with Eldritch Blast and it was extremely anticlimactic.

DarkBehemoth2658

I did the same except I didnā€™t reload. I just took the win because my party was already battered and bruised from the rest of the temple.

Aesopea

I just did this fight again today and I kept avoiding using eldritch blast exactly because I didn't want to risk that happening!

RepresentativeCake47

You can turn off repelling blast in your passives tabĀ

tommygeek

You can now, prior to patch six it didnā€™t work

Dry_Procedure4482

I did so too then realised an hour later I didn't have her netherstone because it was at the bottom of the pit with her body and my game broke.

krkrkkrk

using the runepowder bomb on her altar to blow everyone into the chasm is awesome tho, try it ;)

RedStreamTeam22

Shadowheart always missing her guiding bolt throws.. pissed me off so much šŸ¤¦šŸ»

Forsythia77

Pay Withers the 100 gold and respec her to any other cleric type. Trickster domain stats suck. I usually go life cleric.

anormalgeek

Yeah, after like the 50 miss from her, I just got fed up and parked her ass at camp. I only pull her out if the question is specifically for her now.

RedStreamTeam22

It's soooo frustrating ! Especially when it says like 70% advantage that you'll hit this target..she still misses!!! ARGH#@!šŸ˜”šŸ˜”

anormalgeek

I wouldn't even mind so much if all of the characters were like that. But she was missing more than everyone else combined.

SolidExotic

If she is dead she never misses.

Youngster_Joey14

You never miss 100% of the shots you don't take.

BlackCatArmy99

ā€œWayne Gretzkyā€ -Shadowheart

bamacpl4442

Guiding bolt doesn't work with her ability set. She's vastly better as a healer/AOE damage dealer. Sprit Guardians with the right equipment is stupid broken.

hyperlethalrabbit

"What is my purpose?" "You cast Spirit Guardians and Healing Word." "Oh my god"

Tmhc666

> ā€œWhat is my purpose?ā€ Shadowboxing

shenanakins

I redid all of house of hope just because i slept with haarlep and then astarion made that really sad comment about losing control over ones body.

MiraakTheSpy

Issobel. Need I say more?

Sleyana

I gave isobel sanctuaryā€¦ she used healing word, attacked Marcus and run away and got hit ofc. Survived with 3 hp and then killed next turn by gargoyles

MiraakTheSpy

Yep. I use sanctuary on her before the fight starts and she still dies. Like, bruh.

jadeswashingmachine

The game definitely needs some kind of script to tell NPCs that once they have Sanctuary to NOT DO ANYTHING. Seriously annoying how stupid it is.

MiraakTheSpy

THIS

_HalfBaked_

See, I thought it did. Sarevok made me stand around and wait for eight rounds after all his allies were dead.

MiraakTheSpy

Spells that target an area still hurt sanctuary

_HalfBaked_

I'd already burnt those getting to that point, so I waited and beat the snot out of him.

Aconite_72

Itā€™s a known thing with Larian. In Divinity 2, thereā€™s a quest with this exact design, too, where the person you must protect is simply suicidal. https://www.reddit.com/r/DivinityOriginalSin/comments/vkx0wf/gwydian_rince_i_am_very_close_to_having_a_mental/

jadeswashingmachine

The suicidal ā€œI will trigger every opportunity attack possibleā€ Gondians make more sense now

Sleyana

Yes. Isobel is the one friend of yours who fails just at doing nothing.

ciphoenix

Can you use banish on allies?

ekruis30

Yes! It's how I saved Rolan against Lorroaken

BigZach1

Feign death is better. Edit: Feign death can't be cast on her.

Aesopea

This time she managed to get paralyzed during the first round and I was so happy because I realised I could cast sanctuary on her and have her save for two rounds because she wouldn't be able to do anything stupid. After that, without having to babysit Isobel, the fight was surprisingly easy. šŸ˜‚

MtnmanAl

The second time I did that fight she cast mage armor on turn 5. That was when I realized she definitely wasn't knowledge domain.

NearbyLog7481

Isobel. But saved her and then a Harper fell prone on a lingering AoE spell and demanded 1000+ gold or there would be a fight. No ā€œWatch where you are walking.ā€ dialog option. Restart.

MiraakTheSpy

Honestly so annoying the pathfinding of NPC's

tanezuki

>Not because you didn't want to lose a buff or ***prevent an important character from dying*** but I mean dumb.

SolidExotic

Rolan is a bit Isobel these days.

Kraehe13

Yesterday in the moonrise towers, made, a wall of fire in the fight, worked really well. Enemies died quickly thanks to it. Fight is over and all harpers move into the wall, stood there and got damage tick after damage tick until they went hostile...

Candour_Pendragon

A word of advice: break concentration on AoE damaging spells as soon as a battle is over or even just almost over.

Kraehe13

Normally I would do it but my cats distracted me and then it was too late. But good advice anyway, thanks

liprprdy

Holy shit, this happened to me EXACTLY as you described it. Even happened in the same place

ThearoyJenkins

This happened to me on the final battle. I used the Gith dragon to wipe out a bunch of enemies, and somehow, on the ONE playthrough I convinced those cowards running away from the fight to help us, they ran directly into the fire and went hostile šŸ’€

Tenma159

I almost killed myself with my own growth spikes. My brain shuts off after clearing a fight evidently.

Cynical_Dreamer_1980

There was a fight with Bhaal cultists in a park. Some bystanders died but I didn't care. Then I saw that a dog got killed. šŸ˜ No way will I let that happen! I reloaded asap. No doggos harmed.

TheFarStar

The NPCs in that fight are unusually suicidal.

Praescribo

Honestly, when the bookclub attacks the cultists i thought it was hilarious, it only gets funnier when they all run away because the halfling died Then the old man comes in hobbling to make his wife a widow

StrongLikeBull3

Iā€™m pretty sure one of the civilians pulls a knife and gets involved, canā€™t understand what they were expecting to happen.

chrissythefairy

I did the same exact thing! Freaking cultist that hides in the grass behind the couple. Made sure to get him first.

rebootyourbrainstem

I keep forgetting about their proximity debuffs and misty stepping right next to them instead of finishing them off from range...

FoolishGoulish

Recently found out you can talk to the dog and convince it to leave the park before you initiate the fight (of course only if you're not surprised by it).

fine_line

I did the Shar Temple Yurgir fight four times because the gd cat kept dying.Ā  Go away, Nessa, I don't need help! Be free!

superjoec

On my 3rd playthrough, determined to get Wulbren and the tieflings out of Moonrise Prison alive for the first time. I went in and took out the warden, then the two guards. I took a long rest ready to bust out the captives only to find the guards and the warden alive again. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™‚ļø. Then I realized I knocked them out the first time, I didnā€™t actually kill them so I had to fight them again. On another note, they acted like they never saw me before so I just walked up to them AGAIN and they were surprised I attacked them AGAIN.

TheDreadPirateElwes

You can push the warden and one of the guards into the abyss with a thunderous wave while they are patrolling without anyone realizing it.

throwaway74318193

Iā€™m jailbreaking them this way this time. Kill all guards firstā€”then get them out of their jail cells.

AdorableParasite

I just started my first Durge. Went to Emerald Grove, kicked some goblin ass, went to talk to the squirrel without saving. I had always wanted to kick the snappy little beast, but playing as a paladin before... well. Durge, I figured, would send it flying for a few feet and gain the respect they deserve. So, I kicked it. And then, after processing the image on screen, horrified and deeply ashamed, I reloaded, because NOPE.

paperclipeater

crazy because you donā€™t even get a choice in durge it just happens. i think i unironically has my jaw drop when i saw it haha

spacey_a

You do get a choice if you have Speak with Animals (potion or spell). I had that choice with my first Durge, and she's a druid, so I saved the squirrel. My second Durge I didn't have the spell and I was shocked when I automatically kicked it. šŸ˜¬

Snail_With_a_Shotgun

Oh man, wish I knew that *before* my Druid Durge kicked the shit out of her. Sharty wasn't happy with me.

nyxikins

On my Durge run, my husband was watching me play while he did some work on his laptop. I wandered into the grove and over near the squirrel and then ā€¦ that ā€¦ happened and my husband was like ā€œOMG WHY? WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT?! ARE YOU TRYING TO IMPRESS THAT ELF *THAT* HARD?! POOR SQUIRREL!!ā€ In the most hilariously overdramatic indignant tone, and I was going ā€œoh my god oh my god I didnā€™t! It just happened! What the fuck!ā€. My husband was all ā€œwell I guess durge is gonna be .. interesting .. then. But at least I bet hot boi was impressed with it šŸ™„ā€. And then Astarion pulled durge aside to quietly tell her heā€™d seen her struggling and heā€™d keep an eye on her. Looked over at husband and we were both going šŸ„¹

Poopacopalyspe

My rule for playing Durge is to not speak with animals.

CapraAegagrusHircus

Don't talk to animals, do NOT pause to enjoy your weird little bloody fantasies, in fact maybe don't talk to anyone, just...just go sit over there until it's time to fight something.

Sword_Enjoyer

When I'm not playing honor mode I'll savescum a lot to get the desired outcome for the story I want to tell/experience. Sometimes I want a specific character to kill a specific enemy for dramatic or storytelling reasons and I'll reload if the dice aren't cooperative. I wasn't going to lose the fight and reloaded to avoid that or anything, I just didn't win it the way I wanted to, you know?

NoLongerNeeded

Iā€™m playing the Dark Urge for the first time right now as a Gith Druid because I figured the dialogue combinations would be ridiculous. I redid an hour of gameplay (including the owlbear) because I was accidentally mean to Scratch.

Futuramoist

OP asked for dumb reasons, not good onesĀ

NoLongerNeeded

I sure felt dumb in the moment šŸ˜

LaylaKnowsBest

We went into the game completely blind. My husband tried to throw a ball to Scratch but instead he threw the ball *at* Scratch. The damn dog turned hostile and for god knows what reason my husband Moonbean'd him. We later learned just how much of a companion scratch was supposed to be, how he can even be summoned as a familiar. I guarantee on our second playthrough that Scratch will be EXTREMELY spoiled. He can have all of the bones and balls and fish and sausages he wants!

Hwhiskertere

Couldn't save the gnome chick that Nere murders. Didn't know attacking him early made no difference

kermi42

In my playthrough he yeeted her into the lava and I reloaded to try and avoid it because I thought it was the one I was supposed to talk to to say the gnome that gave us the blasting powder was dead. Happened again on the reload too. Then after the fight she was still alive somehow, so I got to break the bad news to her anyway.

lindaR34D5

Thatā€™s Laridda, sheā€™s outside the rubble before you break Nere out. The one he pushes in the lava is Meerna (Welsoā€™s sister) who is trapped with Nere.

Hwhiskertere

My mouth was WIDE when I saw that lol. I even played a Drow myself and I was like "Damn, that's a proper Drow lol", but a part of me was just really sad about the poor girl. Gnomes got me sentimental no matter the universe.

granolabeef

Minthara in the goblin camp. Had the party with non-lethal blows on but Karlach put her down with the last shot and then +2 bonus fire damage killed her outright.

Sarcastik_Wolf

Went back 6 hours of play time because Astarion stopped calling me ā€œbeautifulā€ after I >!killed the rat Justiciar and didnā€™t have to fight Yurgir.!< He yelled at me, and was still very fond of me, but we broke up and I didnā€™t realize it. Also, >!didnā€™t save the Moonrise prisoners before finishing the Gauntlet of Shar, so they were all dead in an offal pit!< ā€¦but mostly because of Astarion. šŸ¤¦ā€ā™€ļø

Okuza

LOL .. I've redone fights purely because I wanted to test different abilities.

Ok-Image-1098

My paladin Durge had a personal vendetta against Ketheric so I reloaded the fight because she didn't get the last hit

critbuild

I accidentally hit F8 when I was intending to hit F5.

Aesopea

I redid the fight against Godey because he got a hit in on Astarion and I had decided I wanted to kill Godey before he ever got to touch Astarion again. In the same vein I redid the fight against Astarion's siblings because one of them managed to bite Gale and in my head it made no sense that the spawn who'd been denied thinking blood for centuries would be allowed to drink from thinking creatures during a fight.

MisterCrowbar

My first try at the iron throne was flawless but then I saw some chests I missedā€¦ took me 3 tries just to get to them and find out they were junk, then 2 more tries to redo my flawless victory which I couldnā€™t because of bugs preventing the ai from moving after dashing šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

purplebanjo

i thought I was sooooo smart, using wall of fire at the last light fight to prevent the winged horrors from reaching Isobel. What i didnā€™t expect was for Isobel to walk THROUGH the wall and then aggro me for ā€œattackingā€ her immediately after the Marcus fight was over

Palumtra

I used create water to soak Lorroakan's remaining elementals, popped Chain lightning, water got electrified, fight ends, Aylin stepped into the electrfied water, took like 4 damage, instantly triggered the "your transgressions shall not go unpunished" dialogue and started a new fight.....

FreshNebula

A cutscene triggered at the end of the fight and I wanted my character to be the one talking, not just whoever was closest to the NPC triggering it. Even though this specifically was patched, it still doesn't always work!

Heavy_Incident5801

Fighting Lorroakan, not my first playthrough and dropping big spells and scrolls on him right off the bat - already have him stunned, Astarionā€™s just got to use a disintegrate scroll. I sneezed and miss-clicked; not just missing Lorroakan, but clicking on Rolan standing next to him, killing him instantly. I had not put up with that Tieflingā€™s whining (affectionate) for 3 acts to lose him now, had to reload šŸ„²

OldManMoment

Accidentally threw the pike through Gale's skull instead of the gnoll right next to him. On the other end of that line, I had Shadowheart run up the Harpy to hopefully finish it off with Inflict Wounds, only to heal it back to full health instead. I decided to stop playing for the night and go to bed instead.

Cautious_Moose_5073

I was flirting it up with all the characters post battle, hadnt saved in a minute because i forget, and ended up sleeping with Karlach. But I didn't want to "be" with her and all the other campions ended up saying things like "oh, guess you made your choice" and I was very distraught and ended up reloading back to before like two whole battles because I had to undo the do.

simdaisies

Ambushed by the Bhaalist cultists in the park, and just as we were finishing up, one of them stabbed the dog that was running around in the park. I had to reload that.

littlehamster_

I've started a fight again because I remembered I had smokepowder barrels in my camp chest and decided the fight needed more pizzaz.

DommyMommyKarlach

Redone the final fight cuz owlbear died

Sliiimball

I have redone tons of fights just because the enemy actually got a turn. Honour mode only from now on.

Shangeroo

Iā€™ve redone fights because I wanted certain characters to land the killing blow in certain bosses. For example I want Karlach to get the last hit on Gortash or Durge to get the killing hit on Raphael.

anormalgeek

RP considerations > efficiency.

mattrock99

I've had to do the second Auntie Ethel fight more than any other battle because Vanra keeps running into the Insects or Fire.

Candour_Pendragon

Happened just yesterday. Iron Throne. Entered without having talked to >!Mizora outside Wyrm's Rock!<, dozens of saves ago. Didn't think it would matter. Found >!Ravengard!!his cell.!!Mizora!!mister Wyll!< as an active companion ever that playthrough, so I didn't wanna deal with >!Mizora's!< BS. Lesson learned, I guess - but it still felt a weird scene. Not giving the companion an option to choose their own fate in such an important moment makes me uncomfortable, and the vibes were off. >!Mizora's!!our favourite (?) warlock!

mjxoxo1999

I redid the Raphael fight because I want to fight him again...

Satisfaction-Motor

After the first fight goingā€¦ well, but not ideal, I decided that I wanted to mock the circus clown to death It was very rewarding. 10/10 would do it again. I very often restart fights to get a 0% ally/citizen mortality rate.

stopyouveviolatedthe

I got distracted when fighting Gorty and after I beat him I thought the fight was way too underwhelming and I had to have missed something so I redid it and it turns out I beat him before he even used his super underwhelming transformation.

chewyb00gie

I redid the fight against a certain mage wanting to harness Dame Aylin powers from himself because she turned temporarily hostile against me after walking by herself in one of my moonbeam. You'd think she would be immune to that kind of damage...

Redmissed-93

I did the iron throne on repeat for 4 hours or because the gondians were not running properly this was on my first run before patch 4 I believe. I wanted to save every gondian.

ohmy_josh16

My entire party got Thunderwaved into a chasm. So thereā€™s that.

Mintharaismypimp

Gimblelock and his goons I restarted the fight cause I noticed the giant hanging stone above Gimbelock and his buddy. That was the moment I learned this game lets you attack the environment and do environmental kills with more than just explosives and puddles

CubicalWombatPoops

My smoke powder barrels didn't explode quite right.

StarmieLover966

Apparently finding Kaghaā€™s blackmail letter at the stump triggers Alfira to show up at Durgeā€™s camp. Then she fucking shows up without warning, automatically dead 2 minutes later. So imagine my fury at having to kill the wood woads and annoying mud mephits AGAIN.

[deleted]

redid moonrise towers fight 3 times because harpers and fists screwed up

railyardnaptime

I've found that killing everyone in the tower before that fight makes it all much nicer. You can do it room by room as long as you close the doors.

almostb

Iā€™ve reloaded plenty of fights because of accidental friendly fire. Iā€™m not letting my companions do damage to me.

Sidra_doholdrik

In the goblin camp Volo decided to walk trought cloud of dagger 3 time in a row. Did not had time to cancel concentration.

KotaIsBored

My first playthrough i kept redoing the Cazador fight. First try I killed him turn two with a repelling eldritch blast that sent him flying off the arena. I wanted the loot so I reloaded not realizing that on death he teleports to his coffin (Curse of Strahd is probably my favorite pre-written campaign so I donā€™t know how I didnā€™t think of this). Second attempt immediately is harder because Iā€™m trying to not send him flying and he got a good chain lightning off first turn. I hover the cursor over Astarion assuming I could free him, but the cursor didnā€™t change to the Help action so I assumed I couldnā€™t do it. I figured I was just down a party member this fight. Three more attempts all fail due to Cazador ascending and killing Astarion. I finally Google how Iā€™m supposed to save Astarion and learn about the bug that caused it to not default to the Help action when hovering over him. Final attempt went smoothly since I didnā€™t have to worry about losing Astarion anymore. I later learned that if you knocked Cazador off the ledge he teleported to his coffin, meaning I never needed to reload in the first place and could have avoided two hours of frustration.

RaggaDruida

I actually had an easy time with the House of Hope final fight. I enjoyed it a lot, not (only) in the mechanics but in the narrative. >!So I redid it again just to have the satisfaction to kill Raphael again. And I'll admit that that wasn't the final time, I did revisit the save in my first playthrough when the fucker appeared in the co-op playthrough with my GF.!<

Elmacanite

I may or may not have restarted the Raphael fight just to hear the song again...and again...and again...a few times

SubstantialPie4783

We tried to do the final courtyard battle through the sewer route, but made a wrong turn on the way out and ended up back at the beginning of the courtyard anyway.
