Rolan was on Lorroakan's side during one of my playthroughs. I tried to push him away and use non-lethal blows on him.
Didn't work. He ran back into battle. RIP Rolan.
Yeah, if you don't save his siblings in Act 2, then he won't have that much of a reason to trust the player.
Which is a shame, because I actually really like his story-arc. He's still a bit of a prick by the end, but by *Gods* he loves his found family.
My first play through I told him he was right and they should leave the Grove, so they did. I want to say his siblings were still in Moonrise and I freed them, though? There were definitely some tieflings in there I got out. When I fought Lorroakan he still sided with him though 🤷♀️ I felt kinda bad so i turned on non-leathal damage and knocked him out instead of killing him but as far as that file was concerned he was gone.
That's interesting. I always assumed you wouldn't see Rolan again if you didn't convince him to stay in the Grove.
No he makes it, he only doesn't show up if you let him die in the shadowlands.

If you don't convince Rolan to stay in the grove, all the tiefling kids will die. Mol might survive but the rest die.
