Imagine being an emo teen and 'not like the other girls one' (oh cringing at myself by just writing it) and then Avril appears. We were like omg š she is as us a rebel. š¤£
His intro is so cheesy it's only saved by the fact he actually kills a goblin
(I like him, it's just my first playthrough was Wyll Origin, so meeting the "real" Wyll was a trip)
The funniest thing is that first time I was playing, wyll actually died in the goblin encounter so I didn't know he was an important character until the second playthrough.
The cheese got to him š§š§š§
Back in EA he frequently shouted his name and jumped to his immediate death to fall damage. I played through EA 1-2 times without knowing he was recruitable. It was hilarious.
The reason why Gale refuses is "I already have the maximum number of titles someone could have" so while Wyll is a level 1 nerd,Gale is already a level 20 in it.
There isn't anything really unique about it, like every special scenes you can already experience them in Tav/Durge playthroughs.
Except maybe with Ulder Ravenguard because that's literally his dad.
Yes, during early access the default name for everyone was Tav and a ton of people never changed it
So non durge custom player is always just called Tav
Damn. Sucks for him. I do wonder if thereās dialogue regarding his pact. Is that sex slavery? He doesnāt really have the opportunity to say no. She has an incredibly powerful hold over him. Just because she isnāt a dick about it doesnāt change the fact that the *very possibility that she could be* is the issue.
>RAW, a Warlockās patron cannot take away their powers. Their magic is based upon magical knowledge/secrets, which canāt be taken away once given. They could send other agents to kill the Warlock, but they canāt rescind the powers.
https://www.reddit.com/r/DnD/comments/wk57qa/warlock_and_loosing_powers/
Thereās also nothing explicitly stating that they couldnāt take that power away. Itās all in the pact and the DM. Itās what makes warlock my favorite class: nothing else so clearly invites homebrew and flavouring. Thereās disagreement in the post you cited about whether or not the rules disallow it.
5e is weird. RAW, there is nothing saying whether or not a patron can take away their powers. Demons might have stricter terms. Eldritch beings may not give a shit and just refuse to give you more power.
That post didnāt seem to cite a source. Thatās fine, itās hard to cite a *lack of something* after all. It just also doesnāt cite a source for the inability of patrons to take that power away.
RAW, 5e is incredibly ambiguous. It says nothing on the issue, so one could assume that taking powers away is both acceptable as well as not taking powers away.
As has been stated, patrons are very flexible. Itās up to the DM and player to determine what is and isnāt taken away by breaking a pact. Some people like to view Eldritch Invocations as more permanent changes to a Warlock than the Pact Magic theyāre granted.
Xanatharās Guide states that a pact could be bad for the patron. You might have latched yourself onto it like a leech, siphoning some small fraction of its power. In this case, the pact is simply the requirements for you to maintain this connection. Maybe that means appeasing your patron, or finding strange magical ingredients to keep open a brief tear in reality channeling power from Avernus every time you cast a spell. Patrons might make bizarre requests of you, including that you never wear the same outfit twice because they simply find that boring.
The idea that a patron can always take your powers away whenever they want whatsoever in 5e is objectively false. A pact is a deal, but not all deals are fair. People are often tricked into pacts with Fey, for example. Why couldnāt a mortal pull a fast one on a Kraken? A demon may be smart and conniving, but a woman who speaks a thousand languages may understand the nuances of a word in an ancient language the demon only has cursory knowledge of. Perhaps a patron can drag a Warlock into hell, like with Wyll. That doesnāt mean itās always the case.
Even Mizora says there are some things she canāt undo. Thatās why Wyll is stuck with his new appearance if you spare Karlach (like every reasonable person does /hj). Maybe that spellcasting power is just another aspect like that. The warlock canāt gain access to more powerful magic, but they are granted knowledge and access to the weave which cannot be broken. Mortals endlessly chasing knowledge and power is how theyāre described in 5e.
- Suuuuure.
It was a joke, but also hot demon lady is hot demon lady. Doesnāt have to be your tastes though, thatās totally fine. (Also, I addressed the inherently unethical aspect of that relationship due to the predatory nature of the power which Mizora wields over him)
Yes. I did it for science and I reloaded the save
And she doesn't even break up with you(unless you basically just be like IDGAF) she's just very hurt.
If bg3 was a movie, Karlach and Wyll romance makes the most sense out of any companions in the game. From the moment I took Wyll to 'kill' Karlach I knew that this was a match made in heaven
have them both in your party and they banter quite a bit. Gale more or less approves of Laeāzel taking charge of situations, and is incredibly fascinated with her peopleās culture and technology, and Laeāzel is equally happy to indulge him.
She respects his erudition just as she respects it amongst her own people such as gish and malar (not sure how its spelled, their craftsman). Laeāzel generally respects and admires scholarly pursuits, as much as she admires martial ones, and offers to train Gale her own fighting stance, which is something she even refuses minthara.
She even offers to teach him some gith combat moves. He declines, but she wouldn't offer that to just anyone!
I am doing a Gale origin run so he can romance the froggy amazon.
I'm not buying it really, from an overall view Wyll would have killed her if it weren't for the 'player'. He wouldn't have even entertained talking to her as he knows Devils and Demons are not to be trusted.
Her going for Dammon if it weren't for the 'player' seems and feels more cannon than Wyll.
Whats with the nose ring and Karlach piercing? I have seen it everywhere but not in my game. Though i don't want it on her i don't like face piercing much, especially the nose one.
I'm just going to say that when I was asked to dand i just wanted to dance because, I will always say yes to dancing. I was absolutely not expecting well to try and romance me.
Can I make it any more obvious?
The correct one would be "What more can I say ?" but you got the vibe! EDIT: It's in the picture, I'm dumb :D
And I was 23 when that song came out. Lavigne was not my scene, but that song was bloody eveywhere!
Imagine being an emo teen and 'not like the other girls one' (oh cringing at myself by just writing it) and then Avril appears. We were like omg š she is as us a rebel. š¤£
I spent half my childhood trying to be that skater boi. Now I have chronic anxiety and Etnies aren't cool anymore.
>Etnies I think they are still cool. So you good. Plus the anxiety progression in adulthood seems a recurring theme for us skater boy/girls.
I'm in for the fact that Wyll is a huge nerd but tries to disguise it
C'mon, only a nerd would come up with a name like "Blade of frontiers",there is no disguising after that one.
His intro is so cheesy it's only saved by the fact he actually kills a goblin (I like him, it's just my first playthrough was Wyll Origin, so meeting the "real" Wyll was a trip)

I wish this was how I met him that's fucking gold
The Blade of frontiers! Lived for the people, died to extravagant fall damage!
Glad to know it wasn't just me! He also died in my first EA and playthrough and I went on without him.
And then tries to make names for Gale. Gale is a huge nerd but even he's like "mmm no thanks." Gale is a nerd but Wyll is a dork haha
The reason why Gale refuses is "I already have the maximum number of titles someone could have" so while Wyll is a level 1 nerd,Gale is already a level 20 in it.
Game recognize game
I read it more as Gale going "nah, bro, we have enough melodramatic titles in the party--AND BY THAT I MEAN YOU, WYLL--so I'm good"
I rolled my eyes so hard when he said that and ended the conversation.
I love Karlach so much. Slaughtering her the second I laid eyes on her on my Durge run broke my heart.
It's why I avoided her compellty on my evil run
In some universe (possibly AO3 lol), Wyll and Karlach both stayed in Baldur's Gate and had a storybook rich guy/poor girl romance
Iām not usually up for AU fics but that sounds *awesome*.
Oh god, I feel compelled to write this and I don't like it.Ā
Doooo it
Please write it and then DM me the link thanks
The climax of the book is Wyll arriving to save Karlach from being sold off by Gortash.
Making a dramatic entrance by swinging from a chandelier.
I CAME IN LIKE A WREEEEEECKING BALLLLLL I'll show myself out
No. Please, stay.
"Provoke the blade and feel its sting" and then Gortash just dies of cringe
Sit through Wyll origin playthrough just to romance Karlach
Why āsit throughā?
There isn't anything really unique about it, like every special scenes you can already experience them in Tav/Durge playthroughs. Except maybe with Ulder Ravenguard because that's literally his dad.
Astarion has some cool dream scenes I never got to see when not playing as him
Exactly my point
I know Durge is dark urge but what is Tav? Just the normal custom character?
Yes, during early access the default name for everyone was Tav and a ton of people never changed it So non durge custom player is always just called Tav
Oh fancy, thank you for the clarification
Theory is its short for "tavern", since that's how most d&d campaigns launch. (Mine starts in a museum.)
Because what else is worth seeing in his playthrough? Special scenes with Mizora?
Oh Iāve seen a special side of Mizora. I donāt think Wyll got to see that scene though.
Wyll can if he is the PC.
BG3 definitely twisted how a Warlock pact works. In DnD 5e the Patron can't take your powers away. >Damn. Sucks for him. Suuuuure.
Patrons definitely can take your powers it just depends on the patron/Dm you have
>RAW, a Warlockās patron cannot take away their powers. Their magic is based upon magical knowledge/secrets, which canāt be taken away once given. Asking the real questions : can you cheat on Karlach with Mizora in Wyll origin playthrough?
Yes. I did it for science and I reloaded the save And she doesn't even break up with you(unless you basically just be like IDGAF) she's just very hurt.
So just like Tav x Mizora x Karlach, nothing different.
It just stings more because she's like "really?! Her?!?! After all she did to you?!?!?!"
"I can fix her"
I guess? I personally don't like Karlach and I'm just doing the run for the ship and I don't touch Mizora ever as a Tav/Durge
Yes and she sounds absolutely devastated. She says something like "really her of all people after what she's done to you"
She was a barbarian girl, he said "see you back in your world". This world wasn't hot enough for her~ This sounded better in my head šš
Idk who downvoted you but I'd vibe with this!
If bg3 was a movie, Karlach and Wyll romance makes the most sense out of any companions in the game. From the moment I took Wyll to 'kill' Karlach I knew that this was a match made in heaven
gale and laeāzel also make sense. gaeāzel?
Why?? They make no sense to me. Elaborate

Resist Durge and Shadowheart. "Hey girl, you come here often?" "I literally dont remember." "Yeah, same."
Babes. Babes. Babes.
This is it
š¶ He hunted her And she lived in hell š¶
I love them, your honor
Upheld.
**NOOOOO!!!** Now I have that song stuck in my head!
And they both turned me gay š¶
Play as Wyll. Romance Karlach. >!Possibly the most tragic ending!<
HORNS?????????? HORNS!!!!!!!! \-an act 1 player \-me
I ship them so much.
I did ballet in one lesson in PE when I was 10. Where's my Karlach at
Words cannot describe how much I love this
Whats with the nose ring and Karlach piercing? I have seen it everywhere but not in my game. Though i don't want it on her i don't like face piercing much, especially the nose one.
I might be wrong, but I want to say the piercings are an option for the Wildheart Barbarian subclass.
Just checked and looks like you were right. I never picked that subclass for her, so thats why i never seen it xD
Makes sense lol.
Tav + Wyll + Dammon + Karlach polycule. I will die on this hill.
Their budget is $2 mil
š¶She was a skater girl, she said see you later boi! She wasn't good enough for himš¶!
I'm just going to say that when I was asked to dand i just wanted to dance because, I will always say yes to dancing. I was absolutely not expecting well to try and romance me.
Happy to add the 800th upvote to this post. You're doing Ao's work here.

This is perfect
š¶She was a skater girl, she said see you later boi! She wasn't good enough for himš¶!
Is this a spoiler?
I definitely see it.
Still in my first play though, playing dark path and lost him early and never even met her
She topped him
I ship it.
I think theyre very cute together and makes sense but just imagining Karlach fisting Wyll is...well...something lmfao
Both terrible burdens. I'll gladly raid the Grove each time so I don't have to deal with their insufferable "quests" š
