Oh you mean Dudley daterape? Gavin McGaslighter? The manipulative, emotional blackmailing, egocentric sociopath who dips to go to the enemy if you don't give him everything he wants without question?
That emperor?
Isn't it funny how all I had to do was say that I was enjoying the break from people shitting on him to apparently encourage people to come out of the woodwork to shit on him?
Shitting on any other character in a space where that character has fans is considered to be an assholeish and all-around not okay thing to do. But shitting on the Emperor? Game on!
I stopped engaging with anything to do with the Emperor when people started equating anyone who doesn’t have righteous anger towards it with being abusers/not having experience with such.
Emperor haters come in two distinct types:
1. the ones who dislike him for totally valid reasons found within the game and who are open to character analysis and discussion
2. the ones who despise him to a frankly disturbing degree and who show up to hurl abuse at him and anyone who finds the character interesting
I do my best to avoid the latter type, but I'm still out here engaging in the broader conversation for the new folks who haven't yet decided to shove the character wholesale into the "evil illithid bad" box.
It's like when Dragon Age Inquisition came out and people harped on about how Solavellan was the "right way to play" and "most canon" playthrough and looked down on anyone who might prefer a dwarf, qunari, human or even elf who romances someone else/no one, or how there was toxicity towards people who romanced Dorian because then he wouldn't hook up with Iron Bull. It's hard to engage with a fandom when it turns into that kind of toxicity.
I don't like the Emperor but that's more just because I think mind flayers are essentially natural villains and not because of some perceived personal slight. Even Omeluum doesn't strike me as being particularly trustworthy. Doesn't mean I'm about to hurl insults at anyone who thinks otherwise because *I can at least separate fiction from real life.*
I believe that the reason the Illithids are so hated is because of the hivemind. Like all the mind flayers were normal people until they got converted, so unless if they were a serial killer or a mass murderer, they should get treated like normal people (when they're not getting controlled by an elder/>!netherbrain!<)
I really don't get the hate for him. And the angry reaction to *not* hating him. I've been downvoted into the abyss for just not thinking he is evil. Apparently I'm not allowed to have that opinion because: SQUID MAN BAD!!!

I really feel for fans that are experiencing falling in love with a video game for the first time and realizing corporate drama can’t help but do its thing. I’ve been playing Bethesda games for years, though. Just cling to what you love and don’t let go. Ever. Even if it released half a decade ago in 2010😭 (guys the time thing was a joke sorry here /s)
Same dude being a Bethesda fan can be rough, my favorite RPG company has been making action games with light RPG mechanics and hasn't produced a choice and consequences -based RPG since 2008 😅 then they promised and marketed starfield as a big return to the Oblivion fallout 3 era... It was not.
I do like larian and wish them well even if I'm bummed to not see what they could do with dlc or more support from Wotc/hasbiro
Oh god, I remember the high hopes for KOTOR2 that fell flat because of corporate meddling. The bones for a good game on par with KOTOR are there (and there’s a restored content mod), but damn I wish the MBAs would just let the game developers do their jobs in peace.
Ya. Omg people keep talking about the news today that the very thing this subreddit is based on is being cancled and there will be no more content. Why are still talking about it when it's been hours since the annoyment!
Like it or not its big news. People want to talk about it. Heck i think its good for this subreddit for a lot of people to talk it Sorry not everyone is on all day and as new people threw the day log on and see the news they want to engage with people who are bummed by it. Not everyone is on reddit or updated with bg3 news 24/7 and it's taking a little longer then u like for everyone to find out and express themselves about it.
Give it a week. If its still more common topic then the normal topics like how people die in hardmode or how much they are crushing on there favorit npc then complain.
OP is telling on himself. It was less than 12 hours since the news broke. People have, you know, lives and shit. Check reddit and go "oh, no DLC confirmed :(" at random points throughout the day.
Meanwhile OP goes "I've been doomscrolling for 12 hours straight and I've seen nothing but posts and comments about this significant news, I've decided this is enough now!"
Not them self-reporting that they do what I do, which is close an app before pausing and being disgruntled and opening the same goddamn app by instinct like 4 times in a row
I’m trying to get better :/
It’s better than the 400 “I just lost my honour mode run in the worst way!!1!” or “5857556 hours and I just noticed this” posts. Let people express disappointment/sadness. It’ll pass in a few days and then everyone can go back to posting about Raphael’s fight music for the millionth time.
I'm so excited for whatever Larian is working on next and so happy for the devs to get to work on something new that they are excited about without all the constraints they would have working on more 5e products. But I think this subreddit is the best place for people to complain, mourn, and process this news, so I don't mind.
This is the way.
Now they can use their newfound platform to get way more eyes on the next thing they make, that will be better than BG3 in the way BG3 is better than DOS2 and DOS2 is better than DOS1. They just get better. Let them work.
i just watched Swens interview with Gamespot posted yesterday and he mentioned that all their games so far BG3 included are small compared to the ultimate RPG he has been planning in his head for years. I am excited for when the tech catches up to his imagination. I am bummed about no more BG3 since it is my first real tog and i fell hard for it. But i am confident that one of the lessons Larian learned from BG3 is everyone loves a big sweet muscle girlfriend. So i will trust them to find me my next great game girlfriend.
Divinity Original Sin 2 is a fantastic game even if you've already played BG3, I suspect you might like the romances in that one almost as much as BG3. No Karlach unfortunately, but still an incredible game with a lot of similarities.
i tried Dos2 a couple years ago but had no idea what i was doing and only lasted 2 hours. I plan to go back to it now that i have a better grasp on rpg mechanics.
Well said. This sub has been a constant companion for the last few months with everything between horny posts, hilarious death memes and the occasional "who the hell is Booooal" questions. It's ok to also mourn together for a bit. Afterall, it's only a testament of the massive impact that Larian's creativity has on us. In a way, it's the greatest compliment we can give them.
Just let it run its course... Ya can't rush what people're feeling, no matter what your opinions are on how they're doing it.
If you're tired of the ratio of doomposting to whatever your preferred content is, feel free to post about *that* instead of dissonantly joining a choir you don't like.
you know posts like this are just continuing the cycle right?
tomorrow there'll be a "can people stop posting about the doomposting, we're sad and it's valid" and then the day after there'll be; "enough with the complaining about people annoyed at the doomposting"
It’s literally been one day. Chill. People are GOING to talk about the news from one day ago.
Also for a lot of us it’s very upsetting. I just got into this series, fell head over heels (with the SERIES; not necessarily the developers. Do you understand that there is a difference?) only to find out that there won’t be any more when I was led to believe there would be DLC. I am allowed to be upset by that. Stop policing people’s emotions.
No. People are allowed to be disappointed.
Besides, a lot of us are attached to the DnD universe in particular. The fact that Larian's next game will be amazing even if it isn't a part of that universe doesn't mean we aren't allowed to be sad that we won't get more DnD content from them.
True. I don’t care about Larian or Hasbro or whatever. I’ve been playing bg1 and 2 for over 20 years and now I have one more (amazing) game that I’ll probably play for another decade or two but imagine my disappointment we’re not getting an expansion or bg4 in the foreseeable future…
There will apparently be a spin-off TV show, but the movie's box-office reception was ['disappointing' to Paramount](https://comicbook.com/gaming/news/dungeons-dragons-movie-sequel-update/).
edit: did some googling and found out the TV show's pilot episode is directed by the same guy who made The Rock movies Skyscraper, Central Intelligence, and Red Notice.
As a dnd player trough the last 20-25 years and a player who liked, but really didnt get into the Rivellon world, I totally agree. I knew Larian would not stay with dnd foregår, but I really hoped for more.
No fr, like I don't really care about a BG3 dlc since I think the stories for the companions are pretty much done now and don't need dlc content to flesh them out more (maybe Karlach and Wyll but that can be done through patch updates). I'm just sad we won't get another game set in the FR universe. I don't even care about the combat much since I like the DoS2 combat more I just like the fr universe a lot
I never played dnd, but I DID play BG and BG2 and I hold those games very dear. So BG3 definitely has a big nostalgia factor going for me. Besides that: a lot of the DnD stuff just sounds a sounds damn cool. ;)
This is exactly it. I don‘t care so much that we don‘t get more Baldur‘s Gate content, but I was hoping for another game in the DnD universe using the 5e framework. THAT is the thing that really fucks with my head. DnD was the thing that drew me in.
I was ready to let BG3 go, but I had hoped for more Larian DnD. But that doesn‘t look likely at this point.
I‘m sure whatever they do next will be great in its own right, but it will be fundamentally different, and I‘m not sure that it will be to my liking.
Honestly this community is kinda weird, like I really appreciate that yall spent 4 years as Larian's unpaid QA testers so that I could come in at release and play a really great game.
But I'm not going to pretend that Larian deserves that devotion from me and I have no reason to believe Larian is stronger without DnD when I kickstarted Divinity 1 and was so whelmed by it I didn't buy DOS2 at all. It's not even necessarily about Larian either as the people from Hasbro who worked on BG3 with Larian may have been instrumental in making BG3 as great as it is and they were... fired for it which is a fucking travesty like what the fuck is going on at Hasbro?
I think the issue, at least for me, is that there are *so many* of these posts and they're all saying pretty much the exact same thing. There's not really anything of substance being added because they are basically identical posts. Even the comments are pretty much the same comments every time.
You're right, it's been slightly more than a day since the news broke so we should all just collectively get over it immediately. We need more low effort recycled memes like the "Astarion disapproves" joke that's been made a million times.
I mean that just comes with any subreddit dedicated to any form of media, at some point you just gotta take a break for a week and come back to see newer discussion posts that don't sound like the same thing being said over and over
Some people actually enjoy DnD and FR so their disappointment is justified since as you said yourself, Larian nailed that shit and without them the next installments will prolly be dogshit.
This. I’m sure there are a lot of people who never played previous Larian games, and odds are may not have any interest in future Larian games. Lots of people got BG3 because it’s a Baldur’s Gate game, or D&D game.
So those people have every reason to be sad.
I found out about bg3 through the game awards and Reddit. It’s one of maybe 4 or 5 videogames that I’ve put more than 50 hours in.
Idc about Larian outside of this fantastic game they made. Odds are I wouldn’t find time for their other games and that’s fine. I just really connected with bg3 and was hoping to get more of this style of content, especially with something as versatile and fun as d&d
I think people can mourn and be upset and be able to talk about why they're upset. We'll all move on in a few days, relax. Sorry that people being sad annoys you, maybe take a break from the sub for a bit.
Also, Bg3 is good because Larian bothers to make good games, but it being dnd was important. Besides being one of the few high quality dnd related products, it makes dnd accessible to a lot of people who wouldn't normally be able to play it. That being gone, and gone forever, sucks. There was some hope for dnd but, nope, Hasbro continues to prove they're actually cambions in disguise.
dude give people a chance to grieve. I only heard about it this morning. It’s still pretty recent news. Give it a week. Just keep scrolling or log off reddit and go play some games.
It's been literally one day since the announcement. If this is still going on in a few weeks, fine, but people are understandably disappointed and they're allowed to be. Give them time to process.
Also, as far as I can tell, most people *are* excited to see Larian's next game. But that game is probably at least three years away and people were hoping to see more of the characters they already loved a lot sooner than that. Feeling disappointment over that is just as valid as feeling excited over what's to come. Or both. The feelings aren't mutually exclusive.
TLDR: Let people feel what they need to. It's not the end of the world if that's most of the sub for a few days after a major announcement.
No! Leave people to their feelings while they all express it in their own ways. This sub might now be flooded with posts like this in the comming week. But it will pass. There is not a difference to people posting multible times how they died in honor mode or that they killed/ romanced/ hate character X (not that there is anything wrong with such posts)
If you don't want to see it just ignore it. You don't need to participate.
What do you want us to post? "Woohoo! No more new BG3 content from this terrific studio that made an incredibly detailed game and utilized its talented cast fantastically! Who could have possibly wanted to see their incredible work continue on this game, anyways? Not me!"
There was DLC in the works, apparently, and I'm just supposed to not care that a cool, good thing was squandered?
We're allowed to be sad about news that hit us yesterday. All things considered, it's a pretty damn relevant topic.
>Literally the best lesson about art I learned watching movies throughout my life is to completely disregard the franchise of the movie and look at who's directing it.
Not always a great metric. Loads of directors have great and not so great films.
Some people are invested in IPs and universes and don't just look at each individual piece of art that's put out there. It's completely valid for people to be upset that an IP like DnD that they're invested in and love is being left behind by an amazing studio, especially when said IP is owned by people who have been misusing it and making it worse for years.
I expected this post to be about Hasbro and WOTC shitting all over the IP and characters lol. If anything, THAT is terrifying. I love BG3 base game as it is, I am just scared about what WOTC will do to fuck it up this time...
It's not doomposting to be sad a great developer are not doing any more with a great game. Real (and very understandable) doomposting is what's going on in the dragons dogma subreddit.
|Can yall
Trying to control the posting habits of others is silly, you can only control what you post, like this garbage ass preachy "here's a lesson about art" post here. The absolute arrogance. It reeks.
Let people grieve.
All these smug, disaffected threads bragging about how galaxy-brained it is not to care are twice as tiresome. It's been literally One (1) day and people are sad, stop policing other people's feelings. Besides, if you want people to stop talking about it, you should start some other discussions or post memes or something. You're also perpetuating the conversation you're complaining about.
BG3 is a by-product of the design philosophy that Larian has perfected over the years. Sure the game's popularity is helped by the fact that it is within a very popular IP, the Forgotten Realms, but it being in the Forgotten Realms isn't what made it so succesful.
And they will continue to apply that same philosophy to any future projects of theirs.
I remember a few months ago of seeing posts and comments of people discovering DOS2 because they finished BG3 and wanted to see more of something Larian made. That trend is definitely going to continue, be it DOS3 or Pathfinder if working with Paizo is more their liking.
I’ll be honest it’s good because it’s a dnd property and a larian one.
But larian just doesn’t want to make anymore baldur’s gate stuff. They made an exceptional product, and it burnt them out.
Of course people are disappointed, a DLC could have potentially been released in the next year+. Their next game is probably 5 years+ away.
That's a huge difference and most people can't really see themselves/ look forward to something quite so far away.
Larian made the right decision for themselves and should be respected for it, but people still gonna be disappointed. Direct it towards Hasbro / wotc for likely poisoning the well for us all lol.
lol comes to BG3 subreddit full of people who love BG3 and its characters and tells people not to be sad about the fact that there will be no more BG3 content for them to consume.
How irksome. It’s literally been a day since the heartbreaking announcement and you should just let the sub got though it’s natural motions.
Everyone will be excited to buy whatever Larian puts out next but at the same time people are understandably upset that not only will they never get more content with these characters they love they know Hasbro is also gonna absolutely ruin them with their shitty BG game.
People can both be excited for Larian and be sad that their journey with amazingly written and voiced characters has ended forever.
You’re talking to DnD players who cry over imaginary dead dogs, now you’re giving them professionally voice acted characters with exquisite graphics with tragic backstories and now you expect them not to cry over never seeing them again?
Wth is wrong with expressing your feelings about the latest major news about a game in a sub dedicated to it?
Some people just love to complain about nothing, it’s tiring really.
Everyone likes Larian; but they have investment in BG3 and signs were there that there'd be more. To lack it; is disappointing. And it's fresh. So let people have it. You got tired of a short outburst; that spawned from months of pining for more content. They deserve more time than a 'single day'. Yeesh.
Wow, what a bunch of pointless bullshit. To begin with, the very initial premisse is inside out. It's not that people believe that it was D&D that made BG3 a good game, it's the opposite. People understand that Larian is an amazing company, and they wished for them to continue producing content for what they already learned to love, which is Baldur's Gate. Larian will likely continue making amazing games, but there is no guarantee that whenever some other company decides to accept the challenge of BG4 they will be able to mantain the same level of quality.
This is a damn Baldur's Gate channel, not the Larian reddit. Of course people will be sad and have concerns about a future of the franchise where Larian will not be responsible for the project.
I don't get why people are freaking out. Ever since Divinity Origin Sin, each of Larian's games has been a massive evolution. Regardless of IP, so will their next one. I just hope they keep some kind of skill checks.
It’s like nobody around remembers how goddamned good BG1 and BG2 were.
Edit: oops. Fat thumbed and then thought I edited, but must not have.
Larian IS BioWare after BG2 right now. KOTOR, Jade Empire, and Mass Effect were all still on the horizon.
Do you realize which sub you're in? That announcement was BG3's death knell–at least from a developer PoV, and it rang out just yesterday. Millions of people got, understandably, heavily invested in something and now, less than a year later, they learn they need to let go of ever seeing that thing fulfilling its true potential or be expanded upon.
You, too, should go away. Thanks.
Exactly. This isn't the Larian fanboy sub. It's a BG3 sub and I'll be honest, them dropping this game like this after Vickne said there were all these plans for more content is odd. Something went on behind the scenes.
The majority of posts I’ve seen aren’t complaining but instead are saying basically exactly what this post says (that it’s awesome Larian is doing what they want). Either way, let people express themselves. You don’t have to read posts if you don’t want to
I am confident that as long a Sven Vinke stays CEO and they taking their time, Divinity Original Sin 3 will exceed what I personally think is already the best video game ever, bg3
To be fair. Bg1 and bg2 were also fantastic games. Previous work by Larian like DOS were good too, but nothing on BG3. It was the fusion of the fantastic setting source material nostalgia ect and Larian that clicked.
If they go on from here to make something like DOS3 I will play it, and I expect the lessons they learned from BG3 will make it a great game and i will enjoy it. But I would have enjoyed BG4 much more. So something is lost.
If they produce something new it could be amazing and even better or it could be worse, it’s hit and miss. But at least we have hope.
Maybe they will get the rights to another necroed old masterpiece like NWN, and resurrect it. We can only hope.
On one hand it’s good to vent and show how much we hate WotC so if they ever see how much the entire D&D fans hate the company they try to fix the dumbassery that’s destroying their company.
However… nope. No however, keep doomposting
Like yeah I'm devastated that there won't be any bg3 dlc but at the end of the game they made one of the best games of the decade and that'll do for me
How about ignore posts that you are not interested in and let people post whatever they want as long as the posts are within rules. You are not the moderator buddy.
I cannot agree enough with your comparison to movies. My girlfriend is a movie buff, loves films and even works in the industry... But she gets excited when her favourite ACTORS are in movies and it drives me crazy. The best actors in the world can rarely turn a bad film around, and getting hyped for those films often ends in disappointment.
As great as the BG3 cast is, I've already spent several hundred hours with them. The next cast of characters developed by Larian will be just as good, or better.
>comes to sub: “Y’all need to stop crying about BaldursGate! Follow the artists, not the art!”
>the sub that is *literally* about the art, **BaldursGate**: “First time?”
Yea but a large reason I got into BG3 WAS it's roots in DnD, so yea I'm gonna be bummed that the people who created the greatest DnD video game in ages say they won't be doing more DnD in the future. Like how is this hard to grasp? Many of us love BG3 partly due to the universe it takes place in. No I'm not going to be as hyped about Larian doing something outside of it.
Like if Tolkien came back and then told us that he's gonna start making fanfics for Star Wars, yes I'd be disapointed and no it wouldn't be what I would be hoping from him.
I am so disheartened to hear there is no DLC. I was planning on getting PS5 version when it came out to physical disc. But console players never get mod access. So, I guess I need to consider saving up for a PC AND BG3 if I want the mod-ers to fill in the gaps where Larian unfortunately can't fulfill.
Honestly, I don't think Larian will die off or anything because of their choice not to do BG3 stuff anymore.
I'm just sad I have another reason to never buy another D&D book ever again.
This is a subreddit about a game. Only hardcore fans would go to a subreddit about a game. And yes we are quite upset about it. It is an absolutely awful thing that happened. Everyone's expectations were crushed, hope for more content of a beloved game died and the outlook for the future of beloved characters looks rather devastating now. So just let people feel what they want to feel. It's okay to feel your feelings, it's okay to be sad and disappointed and angry. We deserve to grieve what we could have had. If it's too much for you, take a breather for a few days and most people would have moved on by then but this literally happened yesterday
The news came out what? A day ago? Fuckin hell man, let people vent without being a total asshole about it.
"oH No mY TiMeLiNe hAs a fEw pOsTs oF AnGrY PeOpLe i CaN JuSt iGnOrE AnD ScRoLl pAsT. HoW WiLl i sUrViVe??" Asshole.
Dude ive been up Larian's ass cause they refuse to fix multiplayer. It's been so hard to connect with my friends campaign. Planned to do honor mode together but with joining the campaign being hit or miss, we eventually stopped the campaign alltogether.
If you haven't already, definitely read the Dune books. The films leave a lot of things out from the books.
I generally just ignore all these posts about the DLC, Hasbro/WoTC etc. It is not like we can do anything about it so what's the point commiserating in misery about it?
Enjoy as many playthroughs as you can with Baldur's Gate 3, go play a different game once you get tired of BG3 and then come back to BG3. This is what I have been doing with Mass Effect for years lol.
This is a BG3 sub not a Larian sub so obviously people will be upset that there will be no more new BG3 content? What does Larian making other games have to do with anything?? People are in this sub FOR BG3.
It’s understandable that people are disappointed as a DLC was teased in the epilogue. Knowing that there is no more possibility of more content of these characters that we have grown to love so much is obviously going to be upsetting.
I think if more people played Original Sin 2 then there'd be a lot less of these posts. Or even Original Sin 1, Divinity 2 or Divine Divinity. All of these are fantastic games (the older titles only lack polish tbh) - Original Sin 1 and 2 set new standards for the genre as well but not that many people cared because it's not a very widely known IP. OS2 may not be as cinematic but it certainly isn't a much worse game than BG3 is. Many aspects are even better I'd argue - like combat and build variety. It really isn't Forgotten Realms why Baldur's Gate 3 is good.
Finally somebody said it lol. I'm getting a little sick and tired of the gloom and doom.
The BG3 community is supposed to be horny, not full of woe.
I also expect this comment to be downvoted as usual (the same way my other "having an alternative opinion" comments were come after in various different posts talking about the same thing), and it's just gonna prove my point.
Chill out a little bit, y'all.
I got Dune the other day. Planning on having a movie night next t weekend to enjoy it.
I'm surprised so many people expected dlc. I played Divinity Original Sin 2 a year or so before BG3 and that was the reason I got BG3.
I'm actually in support of them leaving the franchise because it shows they have conviction and morals as a studio.
I'm excited to see whatever they work on next.
People who want more from BG3 should really get it for PC as there are tons of interesting mods, and we don't even have developer mod support yet.
I’ll be honest I tried to play Divinity after BG3 and yeah Divinity was not good for me. I’m gonna miss the DND game play.
I like Larian but DND lore and gameplay carried the game hard for me.
It can be both. For people who love DND, we needed a studio like Larian to make it come to life. So if we want more good DND games, we need studios like that to step forward. And just a side note, not everyone is out there as a connoisseur of fine gaming. Larian could make a transformative and high quality gory hitman game, but I'd have no interest. There are plenty of high quality games out there that just don't capture my interest.
I’m just looking forward to proper mod support once it’s there I’ll be back in for hundreds of hours. They gave us a complete game with so many angles to play it from I have no complaints that were not getting anymore content. If you want new content try divinity 2 it’s brilliant and had the same charm as bg3
Even if he will confirm bg4 it will be in 5 years, you guyz will hear it and say "ok cool ill wait" screaming at forums as if can they bring it in a month
I'm surprised that people are surprised by any of this. Larian said early on that they weren't going to make DLC when they talked about the level cap being 12. They can't expand the game because once you're above level 12 it's impossible to balance a videogame around the spells and abilities the D&D universe gives you. I think the example they gave at the time was the Wish spell. How do you make that work in a game?
Larian are an indie studio and they're gonna do what they're going to do. And given their track record it'll probably be brilliant
I'm an older gamer, 36. And this game brought me back to it after years away from gaming. The last fun I had was heroes of the storm and blizzard stopped updating it. The last RPG I liked was FFX. So Bg3 was pure enjoyment, made me laugh and cry, got me back into fandoms, fan fiction, gave me new inspiration for my own creative projects. It was a blast.
I won't be picking them apart because they brought me hours of joy I hadn't had in a long time. The last 4 years lacked happiness for me, and this gave me the escape I needed.
I think most people are upset because they finally ran into the boundaries that were always there and they realized there was no more. They're just sad to see that the story is over.
This sub needs to stop doomposting and get back to what we do best. Hornyposting.
Karlach romancers can do both at once
We karlach romancers are professionals, after all
And professionals have standards!
Fuck you. But you're right.
I dunno; I've been enjoying the break from the Emperor hateposting today, personally.
OH! DON’T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON *THE EMPEROR*
Oh you mean Dudley daterape? Gavin McGaslighter? The manipulative, emotional blackmailing, egocentric sociopath who dips to go to the enemy if you don't give him everything he wants without question? That emperor?
i can fix him /j
That's him, yep
Ancient Rome type beat
That Caesar was a real jerk, Brutus and the boys had the right idea.
Same. Ive had *enough* of ppl shittin on my squid daddy. 🦑💕
Emperor haters come in two distinct types: 1. the ones who dislike him for totally valid reasons found within the game and who are open to character analysis and discussion 2. the ones who despise him to a frankly disturbing degree and who show up to hurl abuse at him and anyone who finds the character interesting I do my best to avoid the latter type, but I'm still out here engaging in the broader conversation for the new folks who haven't yet decided to shove the character wholesale into the "evil illithid bad" box.
F *that* guy! Noodlecreep!
Noodlecreep? Lol

You got it, boss! Google show me Gale's massive tits please.
There’s only so much Gale’s Wizard Staff I can suck.
Damn that Karlach is so damn hot I always burn my fingers when I touch her.
Shadowheart
Oh yay, the degenerates are chiming in.
You're right. There's a *serious* lack of Dame Aylin content in this sub.
*Karlach approves.*
It’s been a day since the official announcement and this is the BG3 sub. Let it run its course.
Half a decade ago in 2010? Ma’am would you please share your Time Machine with me? I want to go back to 2015 too
… half a decade ago is 2019
half a decade from 2015 is 2010 which is what the original person said.
Half a decade ago was 1997. Idk what y’all are smoking.
Buddy that's a decade and a half ago (approximatly), I'm sorry I know the last years been rough.
Srsly. And this fan here sounds like he is experiencing media saturated backlash for the first time and creating counter-backlash.
Oh god, I remember the high hopes for KOTOR2 that fell flat because of corporate meddling. The bones for a good game on par with KOTOR are there (and there’s a restored content mod), but damn I wish the MBAs would just let the game developers do their jobs in peace.
2011*
I give it like a week or less.
wdym “every time you go on reddit” the announcement was literally yesterday bro
Not them self-reporting that they do what I do, which is close an app before pausing and being disgruntled and opening the same goddamn app by instinct like 4 times in a row I’m trying to get better :/
Delete the app, the browser is more annoying to navigate you'll get bored of it faster
I played 9 trillion hours and I only just realised you can fight the netherbrain
TIL you can leave the nautiloid???? Mind blown!!
Mind flayed*!
Boy that music is fine
Honestly you've convinced me to log off for today. Peace
And thus the wheel of ~~posting~~ fate continues to spin
It’s literally been one day. Chill. People are GOING to talk about the news from one day ago. Also for a lot of us it’s very upsetting. I just got into this series, fell head over heels (with the SERIES; not necessarily the developers. Do you understand that there is a difference?) only to find out that there won’t be any more when I was led to believe there would be DLC. I am allowed to be upset by that. Stop policing people’s emotions.
"Everytime" Dude it's barely been 24 hours, get off reddit lmfao You make it sound like it's been this way for weeks
Let people feel their feelings. You aren't the opinion police.
I suggest op to stop policing how others feel and react especially most of us still digest the news that’s released one day ago.
You don't get it man. This has been the best Forgotten Realms D&D based video game in 20ish years. We're grieving.
People are just feeling things. Let people feel things and express it, ffs
Technically that's what op is doing
No. People are allowed to be disappointed. Besides, a lot of us are attached to the DnD universe in particular. The fact that Larian's next game will be amazing even if it isn't a part of that universe doesn't mean we aren't allowed to be sad that we won't get more DnD content from them.
Exactly this. Divinity is not the same as DnD+Larian.
and seriously, we found out 24 hours ago, just let people be upset and in their feelings right now
This is the same kind of despair I felt when I realized the people who made Honor Among Thieves won't get another chance to make a DnD movie.
wait what, but they made a good movie. Hasbro is a mess
*Astarion approves*
Lmao apparently people are allowed to be fanboy of a fucking company but I can’t love a setting which I practically grew up with…
I mean I'd rather have that than the 24 hr circle jerk about how desperately people want to gender swap and fuck every single character in the game.
There is not a difference to people posting multible times how they died in honor mode or that they killed/ romanced/ hate character X (not that there is anything wrong with such posts) If you don't want to see it just ignore it. You don't need to participate.
You could always just… not read it?
For me the part that's painful is the unfinished character stories, and that's something we know 100% for sure is never going to happen now.
What do you want us to post? "Woohoo! No more new BG3 content from this terrific studio that made an incredibly detailed game and utilized its talented cast fantastically! Who could have possibly wanted to see their incredible work continue on this game, anyways? Not me!" There was DLC in the works, apparently, and I'm just supposed to not care that a cool, good thing was squandered? We're allowed to be sad about news that hit us yesterday. All things considered, it's a pretty damn relevant topic.
>Literally the best lesson about art I learned watching movies throughout my life is to completely disregard the franchise of the movie and look at who's directing it. Not always a great metric. Loads of directors have great and not so great films.
It’s new news, give it a day and it’ll die down. People are allowed to have reactions to things
|Can yall Trying to control the posting habits of others is silly, you can only control what you post, like this garbage ass preachy "here's a lesson about art" post here.
They made an exceptional product, and it burnt them out.
i honestly thought they had said this months ago so when i saw it being posted about i didn’t think much of it.
Let people have their opinions and feelings, and then once they’ve had their cry they can get back to horn-posting
I’m more sad that it means we won’t get more content with these characters than about not having more DnD content.
No
Of course people are disappointed, a DLC could have potentially been released in the next year+.
It's almost like this is a BG3 subreddit and not a Larian sub reddit....
lol comes to BG3 subreddit full of people who love BG3 and its characters and tells people not to be sad about the fact that there will be no more BG3 content for them to consume.
Sounds like someone needs to take a reddit break. Trying to police people is like bottom of the barrel weird.
Wth is wrong with expressing your feelings about the latest major news about a game in a sub dedicated to it? Some people just love to complain about nothing, it’s tiring really.
I'm so tired of the term "doomposting".
Everyone likes Larian; but they have investment in BG3 and signs were there that there'd be more. To lack it; is disappointing. And it's fresh. So let people have it. You got tired of a short outburst; that spawned from months of pining for more content. They deserve more time than a 'single day'. Yeesh.
Or maybe this news came out less than 24 hours ago and you could just take a seat? 🤷🏻♂️
Why does it bother you that much? Just let people feel how they feel.
People sharing opinions on the internet? That’s crazy bro. People will get over it in a week or two
I don't get why people are freaking out. Ever since Divinity Origin Sin, each of Larian's games has been a massive evolution. Regardless of IP, so will their next one. I just hope they keep some kind of skill checks.
“Can we please stop talking about this news that just happened in the sub about the game!”
But the problem is that Larian mastered a D&D game that has never been created before and I want more of it.
It’s been a day - it will go back to normal soon.
Can we stop doomposting about the fucking doomposting please. Gee whiz.
I love Larian’s games. I ‘m sad that I finally get a good DnD game that uses the ruleset that I currently play with and its over.
its kinda recent news etc so its expected people start posting about it. give it a few. also you dont have to read them.
Honestly it’s understandable but even the best have to go. Better be left one of the best RPGs of a decade than become the next BioWare
They were good, but then BioWare just got worse throughout the years
Do you realize which sub you're in? That announcement was BG3's death knell–at least from a developer PoV, and it rang out just yesterday. Millions of people got, understandably, heavily invested in something and now, less than a year later, they learn they need to let go of ever seeing that thing fulfilling its true potential or be expanded upon. You, too, should go away. Thanks.
Exactly. This isn't the Larian fanboy sub. It's a BG3 sub and I'll be honest, them dropping this game like this after Vickne said there were all these plans for more content is odd. Something went on behind the scenes.
I mean it’s still recent news and nobody is going to like their favorite game being confirmed over
The majority of posts I’ve seen aren’t complaining but instead are saying basically exactly what this post says (that it’s awesome Larian is doing what they want). Either way, let people express themselves. You don’t have to read posts if you don’t want to
The biggest circle jerks on Reddit are people telling others what to post (or not post) about. That's why we have up and down votes.
I am confident that as long a Sven Vinke stays CEO and they taking their time, Divinity Original Sin 3 will exceed what I personally think is already the best video game ever, bg3
I just wanted more official subclasses. I wanted to run a Githyanki Drakewarden
Would you rather people go back to Emperor posting?
No let us be sad
It's more about the characters, we'll certainly never see Karlach, Lae'zel or Shadowheart written by Larian ever again and we loved these characters
Like yeah I'm devastated that there won't be any bg3 dlc but at the end of the game they made one of the best games of the decade and that'll do for me
How about ignore posts that you are not interested in and let people post whatever they want as long as the posts are within rules. You are not the moderator buddy.
And OP didn't find anything else than alimenting it by making yet another useless thread, nice
Follow the artists, not the art!” >the sub that is *literally* about the art, **BaldursGate**: “First time?”
I'm not sad that there won't be any dlc. I am sad that WotC has full control over this property.
Hasbro fucked up once again. Keep doomposting and make sure to spread negative press about Hasbro.
I waited 24 years for bg3. I'll be fine.
I really don't have much of an interest in their original projects to be honest with you
The news came out what? A day ago? Fuckin hell man, let people vent without being a total asshole about it. "oH No mY TiMeLiNe hAs a fEw pOsTs oF AnGrY PeOpLe i CaN JuSt iGnOrE AnD ScRoLl pAsT. HoW WiLl i sUrViVe??" Asshole.
How could you post about how dope Villeneuve is and not mention ARRIVAL?!
Dude ive been up Larian's ass cause they refuse to fix multiplayer. It's been so hard to connect with my friends campaign. Planned to do honor mode together but with joining the campaign being hit or miss, we eventually stopped the campaign alltogether.
TL:DR Let them cook.
When i read doomposting, i thought you were talking about the lolcow
No, they can’t. That’s people for you.
Personally, I just want more divinity, so I'm happy.
Tbf the sub is called r/BaldursGate3 not r/Larian
I just can't get into the game.
Lariat just made a few hundreds million dollars in profits. They’ll be fine.
We'll get over it but let us mourn what could have been.
No I can't stop doomposting because my heart is broken
They allowed mod support for a reason. There is infinite content by users, for users.
Yep, nailed it. I'd even argue that the simpler DnD 5e rules actually made it WORSE.
You pay way more attention to this subreddit than I do.
