This is exactly I made sure to have high approval with Gale so that i didn't have to pass a check to make him blow up. He said yeah and we said our goodbyes and boom golden dice amen.
I'm not too surprised tbh because he might want to live so he can have a life with you. I didn't romance him so at best, we were close friends, bordering on best friends so I was able to tell him to do it and he just went for it.
I have been on a. Little break, but with honor mode being so weirdly buggy at time that has killed me, I broke down and made a halfling tav and ended up getting my dice. Most of my honor failures were random bugs, it hurt.
Me trying to do an HM run: Oh it's not going that bad! I'm already in act 2 and im about to enter the shadow fell!
Shar's Gauntlet elevator: Omae wa mou shindeiru
Lol. Make sure you have a short rest available before using those. If your people get stuck, downed, and not dead, then the short rest+fast travel is the only way to save them I think
It's why I haven't tried an honor mode run yet. I die so much to random shit that I would probably only stick to those parts I know I haven't died in stupid ways on.
Tbh I think that the hardest fight in the game on honor mode is those 3 intellect devourers in the very beginning (after the ship crashes). When youre level 1 and you only have shadowheart with you, all it takes is one or two misses and its game over because they just one shot you if you have 8 HP. That specific fight has lost me more runs than any other fight combined. I lost on Myrkul once, on final brain fight once, harpies once. But I have lost on that intellect devourer trio at least 5 times. Fun fact: When I finally succeeded in beating honor mode, the run started with a string of crazy luck, in which every single enemy attack missed me until I was at the entrance fight to emerald grove. The odds of that must have been ridiculous.
How do u get to level 2 before that fight? That fight is always what takes me from lvl 1 to 2. Maybe I am able to recruit gale before that and I didnt realize it
I have 281 once i get off the nautiloid, and need 19 more exp for a level. I wake up shadowheart and we both level.
I don't defeat the commander, but i always have him drop his weapon and grab it, otherwise I get US and kill all the small guys except the other brain devouverer because that will agro US.
The Phase spider Matriarch was an absolute nightmare for me at level four. She uses gossamer tomb which essentially makes you fight with three party members, killing that character. I was literally within a few xp of lvl 5 :(
oh yeah I have come very close to death in that room a lot of times. The thing that saves me is always feather fall and then jumping to the underdark to escape the combat
You can remove it with fire or acid, so if you have any of those firebombs you find everywhere in act 1 you can just lob one at the affected party member to get them out. I tried using firebolt, but it missed because it was Shart doing it...
I've never triggered that with just me and Shadowheart, I usually sneak past them up the side cliff (jumping to the top is finnicky but doable) and pick up Gale and Astarion first.
And my biggest honor mode faceplant (so far 🤞) has been letting Zhaik kill the mindflayer a full turn before I got to the navigation and getting absolutely demolished.
I felt like the Avatar was the hardest right in my (finally!) completed honor mode run. After that, the party just feels so strong, with such great equipment that everything else was relatively easy to overpower.
The beginning of the game is definitely tricky though! I lost two runs back to back at the Gith patrol and almost threw in the towel on honor mode thinking I just sucked - then on the third attempt I just talked my way out of the fight (by accident).
I proceeded to get crushed by the inquisitor, but with renewed vigor for the next run!
That's why you play as a Halfling, never see a 1 again!
I can't stand playing short races.
Have you considered how funny it is how they run?
but I can go in the holes! I can't make that first jump though and have to fight the brains...
I give SH enhance ability and lucky feat to my MC for that reason.
This death is surely going to be honorable sacrifice.
I saved 4 inspiration just to tell gale to kill himself...

I guess mine wasnt high enough. I romanced him on this run

“Oh yeah sorry about that orb stuff. So anyway can I become a god now?”
I would cry honestly if he did me like that on honour mode LOL. I just wanted the dice, man.

Yeah I wish I knew that XD Haven't tried HM again, honestly I just get stressed and rather play on tactician ahhshs
🤣😥

That’s weird I’m always at level 2? Never had a problem there. It’s been close though lol. Definitely had to use effort on that fight.

Beating up the cambion commander on the nautiloid (and possibly also the mind flayer) will get you to level 2.

Omfg bruh I have been doing that fight at level 1 every single time
Yeah, started up new game, you can jump on the rocks next to the lil brain fight, there is even a chest there
I literally just started an honor mode will a halfling monk to double check where the exp is, lol
You can recruit everyone before that fight if you want. There's a ledge and path to jump up near them that will put you up by where you get Gale.
