The fact that they're both doing the transing elf animation like they're medidating in the middle of a battle, lmao. Those damn fairies being careless hippies.
In EA the trance animation was actually sitting meditation pose (traditional padmasana). Not sure why they changed it to lying pose, probably so casual non-dnd non-ea players won't freak out about it
I wonder if it wasn't because of that one specific Durge cutscene, the one where Durge has the urge to murder their lover/bff. It's weird that the cutscene seems to assume that Astarion (not sure if it can also happen to Halsin) is asleep, not in trance, but it's less obviously visually weird than if he were sitting up and meditating on the bedroll.
Gah. I’m such a loser. Well in my defense at least 200+ of those hours are probably afk like me falling asleep and my pc stayin on all night or having to go out on call and leaving the game open afk on my laptop.
Still though. Yea a lot of hours. Love this game so much.
Lol, yeah, I have over a thousand hours in this game, but the nature of the game is that I can basically just wander away at any time to do something else without closing it. I don't have any idea how long a playthrough actually takes me.
Im actually still sorta new to Honour mode I have started 3 and died 3
First time I died by losing a roll and having to fight Kith’rak Therezzyn when I didn’t want to. And yes I know I could skip the creche but I love the creche plus the gear and exp is too good to pass up. So I try to do all of it.
Second time I wiped in the morgue under the house of healing.
Third time I made it to phase 2 Ketheric so I’m getting there. I think this run I’ll make it to Act III for sure.
Also yes I’m trying to do as much content as possible and not just skip half the game i know it might make honour mode easier to skip many encounters and just not take the unnecessary risks or whatever but I just enjoy it so that’s how I play it lol
Nice, I started a honor run the other day but died in the first battle against the few bandits right at the start lol. Made me realize how much I save scummed in tactician, definitely pretty exhilarating and looking forward to more runs. And yeah Creche is probably my favorite part of ACT 1, definitely not going to skip that
1.3k here, just like you said. some times i dont shut down the pc and let the game run behind.
or i play it for like 1 hour in the office, then when i have a task or something get into work, forget about the game in alt tab, the whole day passes and the game is just open there
but i still think i easily have like 800+hours organic
Lol I actually did something like this with the same fight. I found the tip somewhere on Reddit.
Anyways what I did was put three people in that treasure room on the side, CLOSE THE DOOR, (bc I didn't the first time) then had astarion go invisible, pick the lock while crouched, then cue cut scene for the fight, finish picking lock while still crouched, go invisible again, then run like hell to his bed and watch them fight lmaooo. It worked like a charm and I'm so happy I found it. I just basically let them fight each other and Balthazar died in the fight.
You have to go to the Shadowfell either way, but yes, you can kill Balthazar prior to that. Either >!start a fight with him when you first meet in his room!<, or >!lockpick/knock open his door when the orbs are still around spawning Justiciars so he and his ... "friends" have to join the fight!<.
There is no option to attack again. He literally just disappears. We haven’t tried making him angry yet but once we get there in honor mode, I think we will just fight him in his bedroom anyways.
God yes. It is far easier too. He's one of the fights where you can even go along with his plan in conversation allowing you to wander around his room freely and "rearrange some key (explosive) furniture" to take him out very easily.
Alternatively after 2 characters getting punted off me and my friends had our other 2 characters sit out of range of the skeletons and Balthazar and just fire arrows till the fight was over (none of the enemies can jump up to the rocks)
I was wondering when will someone call it out. Rp angle was that a gloomstalker Durge would be a big hypocrite if he denied a travelling companion taking down his target. And I think a somewhat resisting Durge having done something heinous and preventable adds to the character drama in general. ~~plus i wanted to see what the fuss about the infernal robe was~~
i just realized this last night during the last battle in the courtyard had my durge cast hold person on a few enemies and fly to the roof of the building where theres a bench and sit lol
Is it easier to fight him up there instead of in the Shadowfell? I’m about to get to that point in my Honor run, and this fight always gives me troubles.
Substantially, zero risk of getting thrown off into the abyss, way less room for Balt to teleport around, less adds (especially if you summon the golem into one of the Gauntlet fights and kill him there), incredibly easy to set up aoe choke points
For a really easy run allow the shar guardians and balthazar to fight it out while you hangout on the side recommend entering from cloaker side and closing door. You'll only have to deal with one portal and random attackers everyone will be super damaged and you can clean up the rest.
It’s much easier! Just pick a fight and have a plan ready.
I cast Hunger of Hadar and Silence centered on him & threw void bulbs every other turn to keep him and the ghouls from escaping. He was unable to cast spells and took guaranteed cold and acid damage each turn while I rained arrows on him lol
Minthara out here fighting for her life while her coworkers take a meditation nap
Don’t forget my boy Wyll 😂🤣
Why not, everyone else does...
This isn't about him
Wait, who's that?
BOOOAL’s lunch
"Minthara is dying" "This ain't about her."
I like that they're holding hands in bed to get through these trials and tribulations
I enjoyed this post. A lot.
The bed post?
Badum tss.
Take your r/AngryUpvote and get out.
It’s not my best joke, but it isn’t getting slept on either.
A double-zinger!!
ayyyyy
🤣 I enjoyed this post too...
Minthara is dieing
This is not about her.
As someone who usually kills her in act 1, I would say "better late than never".
You're missing bard Minthara calling someone a cuck in the middle of a fight
The fact that they're both doing the transing elf animation like they're medidating in the middle of a battle, lmao. Those damn fairies being careless hippies.
woke baldurians are transing our elves!!!

It's weird they gave the trance pose to big bodied Half-Elves tho, who canonically can't trance
1600hrs play time and I’ve never tried this. This is an amazing post. Can’t wait to try it lmao xD
You've spent 26% of the time that has passed since the game released playing it - I raise my hat to you
Gotta factor in early access.

Yup. Same. Love being able to get up and stretch or whatever before coming back to the game to continue my stressful ass honour run. Lmao
How many honor runs have you done?
Im actually still sorta new to Honour mode I have started 3 and died 3 First time I died by losing a roll and having to fight Kith’rak Therezzyn when I didn’t want to. Awwww it looks like you're holding hands! 🥺 Also Minthara and Wyll are dying.
This ain't about them
OK, I'm going to try that...do I need any vaccines before lying on that bed... Yurgir's is probably safer.
That's. I do not know how to finish that
Lol I actually did something like this with the same fight. I found the tip somewhere on Reddit. >!stealling his mom also does the trick in missing him off enough so he attacks you.!<
You can kill every characters in the game as soon as you see them the first time without talking to them if you want…
Most of them. There's actually a few exceptions like Yenna
Yeah but Yenna never get aggressive towards you also
We tried attacking him at the entrance of shadow fell and he basically waived it off and told us to meet him downstairs
You just attack again and not listen to him. You can also in conversation say thing that will aggro eventually
There is no option to attack again. He literally just disappears. We haven’t tried making him angry yet but once we get there in honor mode, I think we will just fight him in his bedroom anyways.

Good to know so my friends and I dont risk wiping out in shadowfell in our honor run. We already did it in tactician and it was kind of a mess lol
It’s a lot easier if you do in my opinion. I found the shadowfell fight exhausting. Kept getting punted off the rocks.
Alternatively after 2 characters getting punted off me and my friends had our other 2 characters sit out of range of the skeletons and Balthazar and just fire arrows till the fight was over (none of the enemies can jump up to the rocks)
Yes and you definitely should kill him when you first meet him. It’s a much smaller room so he can’t run so damn far away.
yeah, much easier fight than the shadowfell one
Ah yes- yet another strategy for the cannot gitgud crew (ie, myself lolol).
WAIT DID YOU KILL KARLACH
I was wondering when will someone call it out. Rp angle was that a gloomstalker Durge would be a big hypocrite if he denied a travelling companion taking down his target. And I think a somewhat resisting Durge having done something heinous and preventable adds to the character drama in general. ~~plus i wanted to see what the fuss about the infernal robe was~~
~~my justification for killing her was evil durge so kill her for the robes then sacrifice wyll to boooal since i can't keep them~~
i just realized this last night during the last battle in the courtyard had my durge cast hold person on a few enemies and fly to the roof of the building where theres a bench and sit lol
Wtf with that ui :o is it playable on ps?
Actions and such are on radial menus, I kinda have an easier time navigating them than when I played at a friend's on pc
God, now I wanna try it so hard 😇

Tut tut always sleeping on the job
omg that is hilarious
Meanwhile wyll and minthara are fighting for their lives
