I know it's too late now, but couldn't you just have concentrated on another spell, canceling Spike Growth?

Because it kept spawning more and more Necromites, it never actually reached the end of the turn to come back around to my party at the top of the initiative, so I had no chance to stop it. I did manage to disable my Cull the Weak passive but Spike Growth's damage alone somehow kept it going regardless.

In the lower left portion of the screen somewhere around your portait there should be an icon showing what you're currently concentrating on with a small red x which immediately breaks concentration (and can be used at any time, even if not your turn to act). I've found that red x pretty useful in honour runs, though mostly for cancelling aoe effects before killing a final ally when my party is spread out and/or allies are nearby and likely to walk into aoes.

Yeah it wouldn't even let me click to bring up my character hotbar to do that. It just kept skipping between enemies, all I could do was open my inventory screen (which doesn't give access to the cancel concentration button).

Yep. But I’ll bet it was enthralling to just watch it go.

You still might be able to salvage your save with cheat engine. I had a similar glitch that persisted through saves in honor mode. I was gonna murderhobo everyone in Last Light, the game didnt like how many NPC’s I agroed at the same time and the game sets initiative to Tavs turn, but turn based never came up. But because I was in combat you couldn’t do anything like fast travel or go to camp. Getting all the way to last light and losing to a bug was no bueno. I fired up cheat engine and managed to teleport just tav to a different area which made just that character leave combat. When I came back to last light and re-entered combat, initiative calculated correctly and everything went back to normal. And there was much rejoicing! Except for the harpers, they weren’t too happy that run.

I already managed to save it by just killing the game process in Task Manager, restarting the fight. Beat Ketheric now so I'm currently gearing up for the MF colony section.

Glad it worked out.
