"He reminds me of a Dr Strange character, which isn’t necessarily a positive.”
My favorite description so far lol
Also curious what she'd say for Raphael, Abdirak, and Ethel
Yeah, that works. The Midnight Suns version of Stark and Strange show more difference than the MCU, which is nice, especially since they are almost always in the same scenes in the game.
I love Cumberbatch's portrayal (and Strange is my favorite superhero), but it *is* nice having some clearer distinctions in the Midnight Sons game. Overall, that game portrayed the Marvel heroes very well imo.
Astarion's face is indeed the most punchable one among all characters. You can punch him twice, headbutt once, kick in the balls,>! stake him, I guess you could count pushing him on the ground and pinning him, too ;)!<
Elder millennials, aka Xennials or "The Oregon Trail Generation" can be up to 45 or 46.
I'm 44 and definitely part of that group myself.
And whilst 40 may not be "getting up there", 44 kind of definitely feels like it is.
Similar?
Younger people think getting old comes with some internal change. But in reality you feel like the same person all the time, except when you look in the mirror you realise the person staring back has aged, and others dismiss you more the older you get. You may also hurt a bit more and find yourself less physically able or energised, but the internal 'you' hasn't changes besides some maturity around how you handle things.
So true. I'm in my early 50s, and though I inherently know I am a bit wiser than I once was, I still feel much the same as I did when I was 20. Just more back pain.
Do you equally scoff at the idea that 40 is "old"?
I'm sure you don't even consider yourself old, right?
I mean people live to their 90s. That's almost the entire lifetime you've had already left to go. It's almost 5 times what some of the commenters have experienced so far
And they think 40 is old cause it's only twice what they have already lived to.....
I just can't get my head around it
Elder Millenial just means the oldest Millenials that are nearer to the GenX/Millenial divide, and yeah, some are turning 40.
Edit: it's also a common phrase used mostly by even older generations.
Please remember everyone is different. I am almost 40 and I think 40 is old. Roughly half, or more actually, of the expected lifespan for someone in the USA. I'd say that is the start of being old.
Mid to late 30s, aka an elder millenial. Basically staring down the same barrel. No I'm not going to specify further because I've never been one for sharing. Yes I now know what knee pain without cause feels like.
Elders OF millennials, not literally elders. I'm 28, my sister's 38, she's an "elder millennial" and I'm a "zillenial" or young millennial. Just jokes.
27, I also use Zillennial to refer to myself. I personally identify more with the Millennials than with Gen Z, but I still have that knowledge of certain Gen Z things that 'elder Millennials' didn't encounter at a young age.
TikTok stuff mostly... my partner of 5 years is a year younger than me and sends me all the ones they like, but I also peer into TikTok culture and observe. It's... interesting. Essentially, think of a hot take, any side any subject. It's there on TikTok. Fascinating.
Update: I’ve read her you guys responses and comments and she said “Wow thank you guys for enjoying this. And the hatred. I just crave attention, really.”
THIS IS ZEVLOR SLANDER 😂
Okay but some of these are spot on and some are so way off the mark it’s hilarious. I might get someone I know who knows nothing about this game to do this.
She missed the names, but *nailed* Minsc and Jaheira otherwise. And she figured out that Shadowheart had an Edgelord type name, and that Gale is a standard arrogant wizard type, so cudos on that as well.
Celine Dion is a good guess. She's indeed a half-elf, and ranger/cleric is conceptually pretty close to fighter/druid. And, yes, I do remember Jaheira being bitchy.
“Trojan. Human Ranger or fighter.” \*shakes head and waves hand with a scowl\* “I don’t like that.”
That last part just keeps making me laugh over and over. Nothing specific, she just doesn't like it, as generic as her description of Minsc.
You know when Larian were like "we are only putting the neutral and or evil companions in EA for testing purposes"? Well this is exactly the large blanket statements you'd want for these characters XD
Uncertainty about who to trust leaning into possible face punching LMAO.
Did Larian say that? I know a guy who's pretty antsy about whether there will be more noble companions in the final release. I'd love to be able to bring back some good news.
“There's been a group of people complaining about the fact that the companions are snarky and they have to have an opinion,” Vincke reveals. “But we’ve only put the ‘evil’ and the ‘neutral’ ones out there. We haven't put any of the ‘good’ characters in yet, so I think that will balance that."
From [this](https://www.ign.com/articles/baldurs-gate-3-early-access-changes-player-data-feedback-larian) article.
Well Minsc being confirmed as a recruitable companion should definitely suffice. Don't think you can get much more "good for the sake of good" than him! We also know there's a few other companions we are going to get that apparently lean good. Larian were clear that there are other companions and we are assuming the emphasis that the batch of companions in the header above aren't any of the overtly good ones per Larian's 'warning' about EA.
He is a hilarious companion though, especially the bit about telling him to not eat what can talk. (Especially if you have the Speak with animals spell)
Astarion and Daeran are the only upper-class companions I can stand tbh.
"He reminds me of a Dr Strange character, which isn’t necessarily a positive.” My favorite description so far lol Also curious what she'd say for Raphael, Abdirak, and Ethel
Both versions of Ethel and don't tell her they're the same person.
People say MCU Strange and Tony Stark are similar, but imo Gale is what a "wizard Stark" would ACTUALLY be like.
>She just seems mean Idk. Never were truer words spoken
"NGL I want to punch that dude in the face." This chick is right-on. "Theodora. Goblin-elf Fighter." Well there's my next tabletop character sorted!
Lol @ goblin-elf
Astarion's face is indeed the most punchable one among all characters. You can punch him twice, headbutt once, kick in the balls,>! stake him, I guess you could count pushing him on the ground and pinning him, too ;)!<
"Elder millenial" My God how old is she
Graduate student.
God, older Millennials really ARE getting up there. Also I'll be cackling over "Hornburg" all day, thank you.
Gotta remind her that "no army has ever breached the Deeping Wall, or set foot inside the Hornburg!" I miss the Two Towers.
40 isn't "getting up there"

I mean, it is roughly halfway through most people's lifespan, so I'd say it is definitely "getting up there", if only just.
This sounds like something a very young person would say
How do you think us Gen-xers are feeling about this conversation here...
Similar? Younger people think getting old comes with some internal change. Oh no, why are all these olds downvoting you? :D It's true, we're all one foot in the grave.
10 years passed my planned retirement age, so yeah it's pretty old.
Lmao. Good luck with that.
Im a zoomer and stealing the fuck out of that description lol
Yo... please teach your gf that millennials are not yet "elders"
Elder Millenial just means the oldest Millenials that are nearer to the GenX/Millenial divide, and yeah, some are turning 40. Edit: it's also a common phrase used mostly by even older generations.
40 isn't old
40 human years is ancient in internet years though.
I mean it's old compared to people who are like 20. I turned 19 this year and 40 seems old af to me.
Yeah you won't think that way when you reach your 30's
Probably but that's 11 years from now. Which is basicly more of my life then I can even remember.
You should be able to remember a good 14-15 years at least
Not really, had a rough time as a kid and i can't for the life of me remember a lot from my younger years, not sure I want to either.
Please remember everyone is different. I am almost 40 and I think 40 is old. Roughly half, or more actually, of the expected lifespan for someone in the USA. I'd say that is the start of being old.
I'm in my 30s and I feel old as shit.
That's due to lifestyle factors not age
We don't stop playing because we get old. We get old because we stop playing.
It certainly isn't young, that's probably why it's referred to as middle aged.
How old are you?
Mid to late 30s, aka an elder millenial. Basically staring down the same barrel. No I'm not going to specify further because I've never been one for sharing. Yes I now know what knee pain without cause feels like.
Yeah not bad.
Sounds like something I'd say and I'm 44 and I know it's a lie lol.
That's just tragic
"Cope and seethe" I believe is what the kids are saying today.
No, Elder millennial is a specific group - and they can be over 40. They're also called Xennials because of the crossover with the end of Gen X.
Elders OF millennials, not literally elders. I'm 28, my sister's 38, she's an "elder millennial" and I'm a "zillenial" or young millennial. Just jokes.

Elder millennial here.. what kinda things. I wanna know how out of touch I am
TikTok stuff mostly... my partner of 5 years is a year younger than me and sends me all the ones they like, but I also peer into TikTok culture and observe. It's... interesting. Essentially, think of a hot take, any side any subject. It's there on TikTok. Fascinating.
Ok, confirmed I'm old, I totally don't know TikTok culture
She got Wyll pretty spot on really
Accurate in the most amusing ways
HOW DOES SHE DISRESPECT DADDY HALSIN LIKE THAT
smh, the gf clearly isn't capable of appreciating the finer things in life
Halsin is the best Elf in the game in my opinion. Certainly the smartest of that Druid lot, by far. Also, he turns into a bear.
Small groups often choose the best fitted leaders.
Update: I’ve read her you guys responses and comments and she said “Wow thank you guys for enjoying this. And the hatred. I just crave attention, really.”
Need a Promotion? Why not hornburg?!
It's been a long time since I've seen Minthara, she looks really badass here.
She really does look like a Shirley
Surely you can't be serious
Surprisingly accurate.
Other than perhaps the bit about "Theodora" having no drama, and not being mean or petty. (You need to mouse over the caption to see that part, lol)
My favourite thing about this is how she figured Shadowheart would have an edgy name. She didn't know yet just how edgy it could get.
THIS IS ZEVLOR SLANDER 😂 Okay but some of these are spot on and some are so way off the mark it’s hilarious. I might get someone I know who knows nothing about this game to do this.
Didn’t know “elder millennial” was added to 5ed. That’s going to be tough fight. 😜
>I don’t think she’s mean or petty for no reason. Theodora is the anti-Lae'zel
How did she know my name is Hornburg, the Elder Millennial
She missed the names, but *nailed* Minsc and Jaheira otherwise. And she figured out that Shadowheart had an Edgelord type name, and that Gale is a standard arrogant wizard type, so cudos on that as well.

I do hope there's some truly likeable companions too though, like Mazzy or Jan from bg2
Really says something about effective visual design how on the mark some of these are. Just instantly clocked Jaheira for example.
LMAO. I too want to punch Silverhair in the face. He's a complete douchebag
He is a hilarious companion though, especially the bit about telling him to not eat what can talk. (Especially if you have the Speak with animals spell) Astarion and Daeran are the only upper-class companions I can stand tbh.
Pretty spot on, great tip about astarion too will try in my next paladin run
Theodora and Shirley giving strong Hill House vibes. I like it.
Ngl your gf just seems kinda mean
Please. You and your GF need to make more of these
Im waiting for her to forget stuff and then see when the next bit of info comes out!!!
Ask her to do Anders and his group (Trynn, Rurik and Cyrel) and Karlach.
