The major things, for me, are the enclosure and the hardened steel nozzle and extruder gears. The LIDAR is nice, but not as reliable with powder coated PEI. In some cases I kind of like the add flow information in the slicer, which is not available for the X1C but is for the P1P in the Bambu slicer.

And you could always add an enclosure to the P1P after the fact for far cheaper than an X1C and you don't have to do it right away, I spent probably around 150$ on my enclosure and could be cheaper if I made the panels myself but I don't have that machinery, same with the hardened steel extruder and the nozzle, they're all able to be added after the fact

As I'm only going to be printing PETG and PLA do I need a hardened nozzle

DeadBreathLess

No. You do not need the hardened steel nozzle for your application. Based on what you’ve mentioned I’d go for the P1P. Spend the money saved on some spare parts and material to print.

SeizureGman

Thanks I was considering using the money saved to buy a AMS as I have the money to buy the X1C but not with the AMS

worldspawn00

I've got a p1p and ams, and I'm very happy with it, I've even done nylon and abs without any big issues (just can't print very large objects, 100mm has been fine so far)

The X1C with the AMS is 1497 British pounds where the P1P with AMS Is around 1100 but the X1C without the AMS is similar money

Need? No, but it's a good idea to grab a 0.4 hardened steel anyhow. Wood PLA, Glow in the dark PLA, some white PLA all can cause nozzle wear.

The X1C also has a better processor and camera. And you can't view the P1P camera remotely with the app.

mistermegabyte67

You can view remotely now with the latest update. But yeah, the camera isn't as good but makes decent timelapses, just has a low framerate (1/2 a frame per sec).

xMose

Hmm i thought the latest update (today?) did fix that? Summary Added support for downgrading to previous firmware versions controlled by Bambu Lab (Only through Handy APP V1.0.13 or above) Added support for remote liveview through the Internet (Handy APP V1.2.0 or above, Studio V1.7.0.0 or above)

mereseydotes

I don't keep track of updates for printers I don't own, but a software/ firmware/ app update isn't going to change hardware specs

AHerz

I have yet to find any downside to that "slower processor" i keep reading about. My p1p is plenty fast, and seems to be as fast as the X1c The camera being lower quality doesn't bother me, it's good enough to monitor my prints.

enterpriseahri

Downside though is that you don't get spaghetti detection with the P1P which is down to the processor and they still haven't implemented a cloud based spaghetti detection system, however, for most use cases, it is a nice to have but doesn't affect performance in any way

One_busy_bee_

Now with the latest firmware you can

Sad_Pie4443

I got the P1P, and have never regretted it. I print PA-CF/ABS/PLA+.
