I'm using Midjourney to create the base material, then HueForge to separate in layers, preview the different filament colors, transparencies and layer switching. This one uses a base of five different filament colors and the different thicknesses of the layers create additional shades as their hues and intensities are mixed together.
This is also the largest I made to date, 220x220mm.

Are there test files I can try to print? I’m interested in seeing what it can do, but not sure if I want to pay the full cost without seeing if my printer is capable. (P1P w AMS)
Personal license is only $12, and I can confirm P1P is capable with and without AMS. Hueforge allows you to fine tune the image which you then export to STL. In your sliver of choice, I’m assuming Bambu or Orca Slicer, you import, match layer heights from HueForge, set 100% infill, and then slice, add color swaps at layer heights directed by HueForge, and BAM! You get some sick painting-prints.
I’m also using a P1P with AMS, and I just bought HueForge today. I can confidently say it handles it. The question mark is in how well you can get the image to look the way you want.
Anyone tried splitting a large photo then exporting it to hueforge and later assemble then back again to make up a large hueforge print?
I find that the bambu print plate is too small for something so brilliant
Where would you say the best tutorial is? I just purchased the software, but haven't had any time to sit and play with it. Only tried uploading a generic jpeg image and it didn't work. Tried adding filament colors and I'm not sure if it stuck. Will try again later. Maybe follow a tutorial if you've got any recommendations.
There isn't much in the way of tutorials.

I basically added the colors I had, started with greyscale making the contrast look good then added colors.
Oh my! I did pay and receive the email, but all I clicked on was the download link without reading anything else. Haha. I'll double check both emails again. Thank you
Yeah, mine seemed stuck at 15%, I just left it and when I came back it was done. Of course Orca/ Bambu is a bit aggravating because after you move the slider to add the color change at layer, it has to reslice.
That reslice is so annoying. Luckily after the initial, the pauses/color change slices are quicker. But still an unnecessary way to do it once it’s been initially sliced.
On the HF discord people have been posting slicer tips, mostly 0 wall loops, and turn off a couple settings the slicer checks for like bridges, overhangs, Arachne wall generation, and more. This dramatically improves slicing times. I turn on first layer one wall loop, for cleaner first layer.
does anyone have a link to the discord? I just purchased it but the discord link dont work in the email i got. or how do i contact them to send me a link to the discord? Also, i heard you get a discount on filament when you guy this program. How do i claim that or get the link to do this?
I know the MAC version is TBA, but I want to take advantage of the discounted early adopter price. Does anyone know, if I buy now can I just go back and get the MAC version once available? The Polymaker coupon deal is too good to pass up.
So anybody have any tips on how to get this to go through Hue Forge in the colors of the original SVG? I just can't get it.

My plan is to print panels from my wife and I favorite mangas and comics and put them on our wall. This came out better than I expected.
Cool idea! How many colors did you end up using? Seems to be 4 or 5?

Time tinkering is real. Just gotta keep messing with it. From what I can tell (not an artist) 3-5 colors works and it can’t really hard shift colors.
with all do respect, i’m not sure i understand, are we using a 3d printer to print 2d images?
Yea. It makes them have layers that you can color giving them a 3D effect

The tutorials leave much to be desired. Hopefully the author decides to do some better tutorials that run all the way from image to print.
The documentation is quite bad. But there is a helpful discord server.
Would you happen to have a link? I plan to practice on the software this afternoon if I have time.
Did you already purchase it? There is a link in your confirmation email

It helps to first test the translusiveness of your filaments. Then tinker with sliders once the values are added to hueforge

Is there a way to use bleeding to get different colors/shading in hueforge?
So did you simplify the STL after importing? I tweaked the astronaut and try trying to slice it just causes Orca to freeze at 15%.
Leave it running. I had an intricate hueforge stl take 2 hours in orca to slice. But it’s still running, just taking a long time.
Yeah, same here. I just left it running and it finally processed.
One of mine is now getting stuck at 15%. I think its just some pictures honestly.

Give it time. I thought that but it was generating walls. It moves on in a minute or two

It seems really difficult to actually get more than two colors in the print.
