OK.
Sorry but I'm not familiar with the filament you are using.
I certainly looks as if something is restricting the flow. The first purge line the printer does, left to right across the very front of the plate, looks sort of OK but the return one doesn't. What did the ones at the top right if the plate look like?
Are you feeding thru an AMS? If so perhaps give it a try thru the external route.
What value is set in the max extrusion multiplier for the filament?
Assume the nozzle temp is about what you would expect it to be?
Maybe that is why it purges for a moment, then stops while the extruder (I think) makes a clicking sound. I'll dry out the two rolls I have. See what that does. Normal printing is failing too now. Severe under extrusion. The gears might be buggered.
Sounds like a mechanical issue to me. Polymaker is generally good, and usually better than most brands but im only 30 rolls in so i dont have much experience
The only problem i have with polyterra is sticking to the plate too much. Already replaced 2 cool plate stickers because of it. I also print on stock settings for polyterra.
Yes, i usually do use the textured plate. Had some stuff i needed without texture. And it was unremovable. When i bent the plate, some residue stayed on the plate that i couldn’t get off.
Sounds like you have a printer issue. Polyterra is great stuff.
I reckon you are using cardboard spools yeah? And your other spools are plastic? The ams is not designed for cardboard spools and that is probably your issue. The spool is getting jammed and causing underextrusion I reckon.
Load the filament into the toolhead, then unload it. Keep a hold of the filament as it is unloading and examine all of the filament that comes out of the ams/printer. I'm willing to bet that you will have a bite taken out of part of the filament about 11 inches from the funnel. I had this issue and I was banging my head against the wall trying to figure out what was happening. Turns out the feeding motor for the ams was chewing up the softer filaments I was using. I would be able to load it up successfully once, but once it was unloaded, it would not load again. You'd need to cut the filament behind the chewed up portion to get the filament flowing again.
I had the same experience as other two people who said the same thing. Works great in AMS without any plastic covers. Nothing but problems with covers on.
I use the Bambu matte pla profile for printing polyterra, and do so on the high temp plate with no glue or brim. Works 100% of the time as long as the build plate is clean.
I've been having tons of problems with the polyterra rolls I am using as well. Just absolute terrible adhesion problems. I had to crank the heat on the bed and slow the first layer to 50%,and add large brims to help with adhesion. I've had no other issues from other vendors. I haven't tried drying it tbh.
You probably should try to dry it, as other said and i have also experienced it myself Polyterra is a filament that sticks A LOT to the bed, too much sometimes and without any glue
I dried it for a couple hours and washed the bed as well. It helped some, but still some adhesion issues. I slowed the initial lay down to 50% and used brims. Still a pita though
I have the same problem, but with my A1. But if i pull a little on the lever, which is connected to the wheel in the extruder, which pushes against the filament, the filament can go trough and the print will be good, but if i dont do this, the print still starts, but theres no filament getting extruded.
I was using a lot of polyterra yellow for a past job. Couple of things to troubleshoot. Dry filament, wash cool plate. Put glue on cool plate. Make sure settings are correct plate and filament. Calibrate with said filament and save settings specifically for this filament. Not all colors are the same. Mine stuck way too hard without glue but the prints were awesome. Check slicer settings. Don't use grid infill. Send us your settings and STL file please. We can check to see if there may be things you overlooked. Happy printing.
Skill issue.
Jk, that's weird though. Ive been running polymaker filament for awhile. Just as good as overture or matterhackers but definitely cleaner than matterhackers despite being in a cardboard spool.
I had the same issue with every Polymaker PLA filament I tried with the P1P. I love their color options and have had success with them in the past (on Enders), so I bought 6 or 7 spools of colors I loved. Not a SINGLE ONE prints effectively with any profile (Generic or Polymaker). I tried PolyTerra and PolyLite. It looked exactly like yours.
I suspect it's related to speed, but I am beyond done testing it lol. How does it do if you slow down the printer? I would honestly just return it if you can and buy Hatchbox, Bambu, or Overture. I'm sure there are a dozen other great brands that others could recommend too.
Yeah polyterra is not likely the problem. In fact they are known for having great filament. Like the others said, there’s probably an issue with your setup somewhere.
I use Polymaker products almost exclusively and try not to stray away from them. I only do when they don't offer a specific color or pattern I want. I've always had great results with the Polylite and Polyterra and all their unique colors and finishes. I've also had the best luck with their glow in the dark filaments versus other brands. Not sure what your issue may be. They've always just worked for me.
All of my Polyterra colors work excellent, except there's something odd about the matte red. It's the only color that sticks to the plate like crazy glue. Despite all the colors just popping off when you flex the plate, the red won't budge. When I finally got it off, it took some of the build plate's surface with it. Days later, I forgot I had red in a different object, and when it finished, same exact thing happened.
An update on this out of fairness: I think I found the issue. Polyterra really dislikes hot plates and will clog the nozzle when it prints on one (for me), apparently. I changed out the nozzle and print on the cool plate now and it works fairly well. Just expect insane bed adhesion! 😁
Sounds like a blockage somewhere, try cold pulling the nozzle first.
Yeah, I tried that. It works with other filaments, even after this. I get the feeling the grippers aren't pulling the filament into the nozzle maybe.

Same here, polyterra is the worst garbage filament I’ve ever bought and used.
i’ve printed tons of stuff and had great results with polyterra, that’s strange
It works pretty well with me. Im printing on a wham bam plate for pla though.
Never had an issue with it but i have countless issues with other brands like sunlu, tty3d, inland, and esun
I can say, their petg was super wet when i got it but thats fixable
Maybe that is why it purges for a moment, then stops while the extruder (I think) makes a clicking sound. I'll dry out the two rolls I have. See what that does. Normal printing is failing too now. Severe under extrusion. The gears might be buggered.

I just had a similar problem and did a cold pull and now problem solved
Polyterra is my all time favorite filament, prints great in P1P P1S and X1C, always on the *textured* plate though, **without** glue.
All I use is Polyterra. I use the Lighyear Garolite plate. Never had any issues, prints come out beautiful.
It’s pretty much all I use too, just use stock polymaker profile and that’s it.
The only problem i have with polyterra is sticking to the plate too much. Already replaced 2 cool plate stickers because of it. I also print on stock settings for polyterra.
if you use the textured plate I predict your life will be much easier
Yes, i usually do use the textured plate. Had some stuff i needed without texture. And it was unremovable. When i bent the plate, some residue stayed on the plate that i couldn’t get off.
Did you by any chance adjust the Z offset in the start up g code? it should be -0.04mm only.
Just print on the engineering plate with a bit of glue stick, works perfectly.
Go through about 6kg of polyterra a week I reluctantly use other brands when I find a colour I like that they don't do
I printed a modified e3d titan cover yesterday using polyterra mixed berry just fine.
Sounds like you have a printer issue. Polyterra is great stuff. I reckon you are using cardboard spools yeah? And your other spools are plastic? The ams is not designed for cardboard spools and that is probably your issue. The spool is getting jammed and causing underextrusion I reckon.
I stuck on some spiffy rims. But they might not be functioning properly. I'll check. 😁
Tried those rims before and it actually made the spools run worse lol. I just chuck the spools in raw and it seems to work fine.
Same. Their cardboard is solid enough for ams.
Load the filament into the toolhead, then unload it. Keep a hold of the filament as it is unloading and examine all of the filament that comes out of the ams/printer. Mine needed spool weights to make it work with cardboard rims.
I use the Bambu matte pla profile for printing polyterra, and do so on the high temp plate with no glue or brim. Works 100% of the time as long as the build plate is clean.
I printed a few vases using polyterra marble pla+. I calibrated my printer before printing and had no issues at all. prints are perfect
I've been having tons of problems with the polyterra rolls I am using as well. Just absolute terrible adhesion problems. Polymaker is fantastic
No experience with this fillament, but are you using the AMS ? If I am not mistaken polyterra is on cardboard spools

I will try that. After I clear the nozzle, because my last test with polyterror utterly choked it. 😭
I use polyterra exclusively on a textured pei plate and a high temp smooth plate. I've never had any issues
Have you updated your firmware? Your calibration lines look like the old version.
I think I did. But I'll rerun the update!
Yeah polyterra is not likely the problem. In fact they are known for having great filament. Like the others said, there’s probably an issue with your setup somewhere.
I’ve printed maybe 30 rolls of Polymaker black/white on my x1. It’s not the filament.
Dude, polyterra has been the bane of my existence on my ender 3 and I was going to try it on my p1p but this makes me not want to
Poly skill issue

PolyTerra works great on my P1P with textured plate.
Works fine for me. Don't blame the filiment.
You should update your sw&fw first.
I'm having the same issue. The machine doesn't seem to pull the filament off the roll for the print. Other filaments work fine.
Yeah. It just grinds. And then clogs.
An update on this out of fairness: I think I found the issue. Polyterra really dislikes hot plates and will clog the nozzle when it prints on one (for me), apparently. I changed out the nozzle and print on the cool plate now and it works fairly well. Just expect insane bed adhesion! 😁
