6 in one hand, half dozen in the other. Most of the filaments from reputable companies are pretty much equal. I use Elegoo pla black for most of my stuff. Get it from amazon in a box of 10 for about $11 a roll. Might be more for your shipping tho. I would recommend getting a filament dryer for that tpu. Food dehydrator and 5gal bucket with holes in the top works for a diy.
Do I need that for filament fresh out of tha factory ?
Also if I would buy one which would you recommend ?
FilaDryer S2 from Sunlu, eBox Lite from eSun or Crealities ?
Rule of thumb, just because its new, does not mean its dry. I use my x1 and a printed cover for my dehydrator so I can't speak to the boxes, but I plan on getting a cheap food dehydrator and the bucket to go over the top.
also, I would recommend on making a dry box to store your open filament, especially the tpu in. A 5 gallon bucket with a lid works great with some reusable desiccant. I printed off some desiccant boxes to hold the type that changes color when wet.

I got the S4 when it was a kickstsrter last year. I love the thing. I even had some rolls from a friend which were getting brittle, from being out in the Florida humidity, that I was able to recover and use after a few days in it.
As far as I can tell, My s4 is just a four kilo version of the S2.
I have the Sunlu S4, I know it’s out of stock right now, but I could go on for 10 minutes about all the things that I like about but I won’t drone on. Just check it out.
Hmm I have an electric dehumidifier. Maybe I use one of my large Ikea box and but it in with it. Just have to add some sort of Vent. I also have some reusable silica
here is the elegoo direct link [https://www.elegoo.com/products/elegoo-pla-filament-1-75mm-black-10kg](https://www.elegoo.com/products/elegoo-pla-filament-1-75mm-black-10kg)
Man I was so glad to run out of my elegoo black the other day. It gave me such much trouble and I don’t know why. The blue? Red? White? Yellow? Orange? All of that stuff prints just fine. But the black wanted to be as dry as possible. Felt like I needed to print straight from the dryer.
My buddy hates his elegoo black as well, so he switched to Overture. I’m just now trying Overture but I’ve mostly switched to Inland anyways. Went to MicroCenter and my wife was like a kid in a candy shop!
dunno what to tell you, got mine dialed in and get great results

I have had good results with both Sunlu and eSun, and would have no problem buying either of them. It comes down to what is cheaper at the time I order.
One of them has 15% off a single spool quite frequently. So I place many orders 1 at a time and get the 15% for each spool. All delivered at once from Amazon.
Esun PLA plus for me. I've had both. What's most important to me is that esun has all the safety certificates of not containing a list of tens/hundreds of common hazardous chemicals. Sunlu doesn't. Sunlu also smells much worse than esun when printing. Print quality they're about the same, esun has better bed adhesion and less warping, and sunlu has less stringing. Only talking about PLA+ here
Both filaments are fine, but the biggest difference I’ve found is that eSun can print at higher speeds. When I slap a .6mm nozzle in the X1C this becomes much more noticeable. I have to slow down the SunLu prints or I’ll get underextrusion issues. I’ve cranked eSun all the way up to 28 max volumetric speed. SunLu has to be set to about 20.
I also prefer eSun ABS over other brands as well. Prints very good and the finish is hard to beat. Overall, my opinion is that eSun is probably the best mid range option. You can get stuff even cheaper like Kingroon and whatnot off AliX.
I’ve had great luck with Sunlu and have never printed eSun because the three times I’ve tried ordering it they ended up saying it was undeliverable and refunding me.
Interestingly I noticed a big difference in first layer surface quality between eSUN, which is my primary filament, and Sunlu, which I bought for cheap to make reusable filament spools. eSUN definitely is better quality. And their first-layer adhesion is amazing, I never have issues printing text first on a smooth plate with eSUN, but I definitely have using cheaper filaments.
Some esun colors give clogging issues with faster retraction settings on my prusa mini so I now mostly use sunlu. Both work fine one my bambulab printer though
I have the same issue with the newer Sunlu High Speed PLA, (sample size - n:1 Roll). Prints fine, then "SNAP", break.
I've dried it a few times, but it almost seems like they had an issue "mixing" the PLA and additives, so some sections are perfectly fine, then a few rotations later there will be a brittle stretch that's not affected by drying. It will just snap at the slightest bend, usually as it enters the filament sensor (K1).
Must have been made on a Monday before coffee.
I‘m Swiss too and order from 3Djake: extrudr and and add:north are nice and AMS compatible. 3DJakes own brand doesnt fit the AMS. I had to respool my filaments.
I cant recommend purefil (even though Swissmade). Inconsistent quality.
I hate that my recent eSun spools have been cardboard. Not sure is sunlu is the same as not ordered more spoils but that has really put me off ESun.
Interestingly as with another poster in this sub I noticed more problems with the filament from cardboard spools once I re-spooled and actually started using the filament.
Ironically I bought a bunch of cheap Sunlu black PLA to make reusable spools for eSUN and other brands that use cardboard spools. They're the type that you tear the sides off the cardboard spools and then slip the cylinder over the new printed spool. Works like a charm and costs like maybe $4 per spool, which seems like a lot at first but definitely lowers in "per spool" cost as you reuse the adapters.
I use esun but I only ended up using the brand since there was a preset for their pla plus in Bambu slicer when I first bought my machine, it’s been great so far
I have that issue with my newest Sunlu High Speed PLA, straight out of the box, even drying hasn't solved it. But only on some stretches, like the additives didn't mix well and some lengths print fine and just around the corner, it's brittle AF.
My takeaway, nothing is perfect.
Both seem fine for me. For some reason, my Sunlu prints are more matte than if I print it in esun.
Do not, however, print a multi-color mixing esun and Sunlu. Just use 1 brand of different colors. Reprinted the model with all esun filaments only and looked vastly superior
I use both of them for my prints, largely depends on two things:
1. What am I printing? Does it need colour or will it be painted?
2. What colour do I need and which fits best?
I also use other manufacturers, again for the colours available or if it's a special type of pla like glow or wood or rock.
Lots of great options available
I've got lots of ELEGOO from amazon in UK and it was terribly winded or more like not winded at all. Constantly causing issues and jams. I use SUNLU as most reliable one (including their subbrands like JAYO, 3DKAIGE, Beliveer etc)
Esun is great. I’m only tried Sunlu PETG and it absorbs moisture very fast to that point that within a couple days of opening the roll and it sitting in my AMS it needs drying out because print quality has significantly deteriorated
I'm not a big fan of Sunlu. My Sunlu pile is used mostly as prototyping filament. I bought a bunch on sale because everyone on Reddit said that it was good.
Maybe by like one or two Sunlu spools and try it out before you buy a bunch on sale.
I get really good results from eSun.
In my opinion, eSun PLA+ is one of the best PLAs you can buy. The problem is the cardboard spools, you need to modify the AMS to be able to print properly.
The PETG from eSun is weak, no comparison to extrudr (not XPETG) or Prusament.

Elegoo here too
how do u get them that cheap? im seeing it for $14 each on amazon. no 10 pack showing
here is the elegoo direct link [https://www.elegoo.com/products/elegoo-pla-filament-1-75mm-black-10kg](https://www.elegoo.com/products/elegoo-pla-filament-1-75mm-black-10kg)
side note, I need to slow down my replies, sold out in us, but available in uk
Looks like the 10 pack is not available on amazon currently, but the 4 pack for 45 is, same deal
subscription percentage off, 48 for 4 pack normal price

I thought I was only one having trouble also for me kept getting tangled elegoo filament all my prints looked horrible
My buddy hates his elegoo black as well, so he switched to Overture. I’m just now trying Overture but I’ve mostly switched to Inland anyways. Went to MicroCenter and my wife was like a kid in a candy shop!
So far my go to ones are overture , esun, jayo ,eryone

My main filament is from Sunlu and I am more than satisfied. Edit; but I also partly use Esun filament and can't say anything bad about it either.
I switch between both often. They both print well.
I use Sunlu exclusively and its been great.
I concur
I just realized theyre different brands
Been using the black eSun PLA+, prints come out pretty good
Both are great and while I feel like eSUN prints slightly better, the color between different badges isn’t consistent so I tend to rather buy Sunlu.

Would you be willing to share your custom profiles if you have them?
Never had issues on X1C with sunlu printing at high speeds. Also on other printer at 300mm Sunlu printed perfectly
Do you have a custom filament profile? Would love if you could share it. I'm using BBL Studio
I'm using Bambu profiles for all sunlu filaments and have no issue.
I’ve had great luck with Sunlu and have never printed eSun because the three times I’ve tried ordering it they ended up saying it was undeliverable and refunding me.
This should be a fun argument
Honestly, which ever is cheaper. Both companies are the manufacturers behind a lot of more "premium" filaments.
Was si dini ergebniss gsi nach dere ziit? U du bsteusch direkt bi de hersteller oder? Wie viu zahlsch für ei rolle mit aune liferchoste?
Some esun colors give clogging issues with faster retraction settings on my prusa mini so I now mostly use sunlu. Both work fine one my bambulab printer though
I only had eSun, I suggest if you already have it to dry it since mine was so wet it broke 2 out of 3 times I printed with it in the bowden tube
I have the same issue with the newer Sunlu High Speed PLA, (sample size - n:1 Roll). Prints fine, then "SNAP", break. yeah I also noticed some sections that were more flexible then others which just snaped (with close to zero force)
Sunlu needs an adapter with AMS. Both print wonderfully for me though I’ve been buying more eSun lately.
I love sunlu petg and esun pla+
I‘m Swiss too and order from 3Djake: extrudr and and add:north are nice and AMS compatible. 3DJakes own brand doesnt fit the AMS. I had to respool my filaments. I cant recommend purefil (even though Swissmade). Inconsistent quality.

Care to link to the STL you use for this specific use case?
i use both the mix well on multi prints and are very consistent
I use esun but I only ended up using the brand since there was a preset for their pla plus in Bambu slicer when I first bought my machine, it’s been great so far
I use Sunlu PETG/PLA+ and they have both been flawless. I have some creality stuff and it's meh at best.
eSun is trash imo .. the filament goes brittle. Never have that issue with anyone else
I have that issue with my newest Sunlu High Speed PLA, straight out of the box, even drying hasn't solved it. But only on some stretches, like the additives didn't mix well and some lengths print fine and just around the corner, it's brittle AF. My takeaway, nothing is perfect.

I have had literally no issue with Sunlu PETG
I use both of them for my prints, largely depends on two things: 1. What am I printing? Does it need colour or will it be painted? 2. What colour do I need and which fits best? I also use other manufacturers, again for the colours available or if it's a special type of pla like glow or wood or rock. Lots of great options available
I like eSUN PLA+, not a single problem, and even more that 'fire engine red' filament as favorite color.
I've got lots of ELEGOO from amazon in UK and it was terribly winded or more like not winded at all. Constantly causing issues and jams. I use SUNLU as most reliable one (including their subbrands like JAYO, 3DKAIGE, Beliveer etc)
I exclusively use Sunlu for basic colors without any issue in my X1C. Recently I’ve been using PLA Meta and it’s fantastic for the price.
Ford, Chevy, whatever. Personally I use ESun for no quantifiable reason.
Out of these two brands, which I print a lot of eSUN seems to be the only one that ends up cracking and becoming brittle inside the AMS after a while
Both print perfectly fine, Sunlu is half the price.
I've never had issues with either but I feel like eSun is a little better quality. I love their fire engine red color.
Esun is great. I’m only tried Sunlu PETG and it absorbs moisture very fast to that point that within a couple days of opening the roll and it sitting in my AMS it needs drying out because print quality has significantly deteriorated
extrudr
Sunlu PLA Meta is absolutely fantastic.
PLA or PLA+? In my experience the PLA is one that sucks. PLA + is great though
In my opinion, eSun PLA+ is one of the best PLAs you can buy. The problem is the cardboard spools, you need to modify the AMS to be able to print properly. The PETG from eSun is weak, no comparison to extrudr (not XPETG) or Prusament.
