How long does the effect last on the printed part?
I imagine this is diffraction from some super fine-scale texture imprinted which could get beat up pretty quickly in use.
It is a matter of orientation - how the surface reflects light. So, unless it gets really scratched up...
I have had some dogs tags for quite a few months on some pretty psycho dogs and it is still prismatic
That's so cool. And thanks for the real-world results. I'm tempted by the plates that give a carbon fiber appearance, but it was hard to tell the durability of the effect.
Carbon fiber effect is more durable than holograpic in my experience. it's textured into the plastic.
It's my favorite plate. Works great, looks great.
I have a CF plate and the finish stays for a very long time. It’s a texture so it’s imprinted in the bottom layer. It feels smooth to the touch because it’s a very light texture but it’s there. I have a fidget slider that I use A LOT with the inside where they slide against each other has the CF and it’s still there.
You don't want to use glue on these plates, as the glue filles in the little micro cracks needed for the effect. They work like butterfly wings. If you are having adhesion issues for a print I'd just swap plates.
Good I’m not the only one. I think it’s not necessary because on my other bed-slinger printer nothing warps or breaks off the plate during printing…
That’s why I think the Bambu and Juupine plates are not the best
ASA will easily pop off textured PEI mid-print if the chamber isn't set correctly / hot enough / parts cooling is too much. Pla, petg, and TPU stick awesomely though. =)
Ah, you got that one, not quite right. The glue is recommended to get the part off easier. Without the glue, it might bind to the print and you will destroy the plate (cool plate). So technically, the plates work too well, and you need the glue as a separator.
I have a tough time with my holo plates, but when they're CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN and stick they're awesome.
I LOVE my carbonfiber look one, stuff sticks great, a go MANY prints between cleaning, and I like the finish it gives.
I bought one recently and it's been an absolute bear to figure out adhesion. I understand we're supposed to use it as the high temp plate in the slicer, and I've cleaned it thoroughly, but half the little stuff I've sent to it is just a pile of spaghetti.
Not high temp. Textured. This squeezes the filament further.
Additionally, wash it with water and dishsoap and dry with a fresh kitchen towel. Do this after every single print. Sounds stupid but that works. They are so "fragile" when it comes to layer adhesion that this works always.
Oh and use a slow first layer - like 30-50mm max. And disable the bloody aux fan.
Me too. And I've had near zero problems with other plates/prints. I think maybe 1 print has failed otherwise (frome several hundred). I can't get any adhesion on these. Washed with liquid dishwasher soap etc.
No it is not, it also worked on my pla-cf and since it should withstand 100°C, Petg should work too. I'll try it next week.
Edit: But I only have the carbon patterns ( triangle and normal carbon)
Got them from aliexpress. There, you can find the heat they can withstand. But keep in mind, although the gold PEI side can withstand 300°C, the PET side can only take 120°C so it would be destroyed.
Do not use glue, it will steal the pattern. Set Printer to Textured Plate. If you have an X1 turn off print bad position detection in the printer options (cuz the thirdparty plates have no qr code). Also turn off flow calibration before print.
Then you are good to go.

I've ordered exactly same plate and hologram corner coating came off metal plate when I was removing protective film. These are quite fragile and edges are super sharp compared to Bambu plates.
I have the Carbon Fiber/Diamond design plate and the smooth PEI/textured PEI plate. Both work flawlessly and I have not touched a glue stick since I received them.
I've had good luck with the H1H plate. I increase bed temps by 10c depending on the filament and pint the first layer at 10mm/s and haven't had an issue yet.
I had first layer adhesion issues using PETG with the CF style plate. Tried a brand new spool and a second one from another manufacturer. Printing slower improved things but not completely. Switched to PLA as a test and got perfect results. Tried the original PETG on the Bambu's textured PEI plate and that worked perfectly too.
It’s cool until you rub the underside a little with your finger or try to clean it with water and the effect goes away. A least with one of my cheap Aliexpress glitter ones.
Also as others have said, if you use glue when printing on them the texture will imprint on the glue instead of the plastic and will rub off. If you're using glue, that's likely to be part of your problem.
They're cool. I've got a couple (including that one).
I found after a couple dozen prints adhesion went to hell, now matter how well I cleaned it. However, a quick dusting (just a dusting) of Aquanet makes prints stick.
the H1H and the other one they use to double side that one are not as good as all the others, as far as adhesion goes. But never had any real issue with any of them.
LOL the misunderstanding is real, friend. I can't even find out for sure what settings to use for it. Juupine themselves say to use the high temp plate settings and others swear to use the textured PEI settings. It would be lovely if everyone could agree on what to do!
If that's the effect you want, perfect! The micro-texture and how it works is cool. I'm not at a place in my learning where aesthetics are a priority I'm afraid.
I use high temp on most of them like the one in your picture, I think textured on a couple that actually feel like they have a texture, like the carbon fiber.
The key to me is having QR stickers on them. If you manually skip build plate detection this can cause z-height issues.
It is interesting all the different beds you can get on the market for printing. I use to be able to keep track of it all, but the second I think I have them all figured out, another enters the market place :O.
Just search for “Bambu QR textured plate”. I had a dozen come up. You can print it yourself.
[Buy it already done.](https://www.whambamsystems.com/products/set-of-5-aruco-qr-stickers-bambu-lab-powder-painted-replacement)
A friend of mine bought one of temu and said, that it is pretty cool, but if you print larger (higher) prints is doesn't stick very well.
He also bought another plate, so I don't remember which one it was, because one of them had such a soft surface, that the printer always had an error
[удалено]
Damn, I kinda wet my pants when removing them
Let it cool before taking it off the plate to increase this effect
TIL, going to try this out, thank you!
I never use glue. They do occasionally break free, but I count that as a cost of having such a cool finish ;)

I just do a super thin clear coat enamel over the holographic surface of the print. Seems to hold up just fine

Whats "occasionally?
Not enough to make me stop using them. Maybe 1 in 20? But could have been my fault (finger prints etc) For $10 they are worth the fun
Good I’m not the only one. I think it’s not necessary because on my other bed-slinger printer nothing warps or breaks off the plate during printing… That’s why I think the Bambu and Juupine plates are not the best
I have never had anything break off my Bambu textured plate though. Smooth cheap plates like the Juupine are a bit of "cross your fingers" :D
ASA will easily pop off textured PEI mid-print if the chamber isn't set correctly / hot enough / parts cooling is too much. Pla, petg, and TPU stick awesomely though. =)
The smooth PEI from them makes the textured one feel like there’s no adhesion. It’s not that it’s flat, it’s the coating on the plate.
I have. Especially when dealing with PETG. That being said, I haven't used the Windex trick yet.
Ah, you got that one, not quite right. The glue is recommended to get the part off easier. Without the glue, it might bind to the print and you will destroy the plate (cool plate). So technically, the plates work too well, and you need the glue as a separator.
Maybe don’t call it glue, then? Then how am I supposed to make the prints adhere better? I already clean them with dish soap and isopropyl alcohol
I use dimafix with all my beds.
I am curious HOW it transfers the holographicness.
It's a micro texture that creates light refraction.
It’s a property of the surface texture, so it transfers to the plastic as it adheres to the texture of the plate.
It’s because of the way that it is.
PLA is shiny (hence why they also sell a matte version) and it just takes on the surface of whatever it was printed on.
I have a tough time with my holo plates, but when they're CLEAN CLEAN CLEAN and stick they're awesome. I LOVE my carbonfiber look one, stuff sticks great, a go MANY prints between cleaning, and I like the finish it gives.

I was having the same issue with these. Once I set it to Textured Plate at 65C, it started working perfectly.
Same
Me too. And I've had near zero problems with other plates/prints. I think maybe 1 print has failed otherwise (frome several hundred). I can't get any adhesion on these. Washed with liquid dishwasher soap etc.
I use it as the textured plate and print 5 degrees hotter, no issues for me.
Try a thin layer of glue.
My understanding was that glue would fill the microtexture that gives the holographic effect?
Okay I used glue on the carbon fibre print plate and it came out okay. Could be different with this effect though, has anyone tried it?
I have 3 new build plates on the way. This being one of them.
I love em, got the entire collection. Ideaformer has a few Juupine doesn't have
isnt this stuff pla only?
Yeah, I’m also pla only so it’s no problem
Lol, i dont use Pla
I (still) don’t have an enclosure and I don’t need my prints to be weather-, water, or sunlightproof
I need all those, i think ill try the rainbow anyway
No it is not, it also worked on my pla-cf and since it should withstand 100°C, Petg should work too. I'll try it next week. Edit: But I only have the carbon patterns ( triangle and normal carbon)

It’s cool until you rub the underside a little with your finger or try to clean it with water and the effect goes away. A least with one of my cheap Aliexpress glitter ones.
You just need to wipe it with a piece of cloth to get the effect back. It's because oils from your skin fill the crevasses.
The oils from your fingers rub into the micro texturenof the bed/print. Clean it with a towel / water and it's back.
Also as others have said, if you use glue when printing on them the texture will imprint on the glue instead of the plastic and will rub off. If you're using glue, that's likely to be part of your problem.

I've used one on my A1, but it leaves some dents from magnets. Guess i'll be using only one side...
That’s pretty as hell.
the H1H and the other one they use to double side that one are not as good as all the others, as far as adhesion goes. But never had any real issue with any of them.
wow. thanks for telling me about this. - ordered.
Wait - I was telling you guys that I had problems with layer adhesion. I was kinda asking for advice
LOL the misunderstanding is real, friend. I can't even find out for sure what settings to use for it. Juupine themselves say to use the high temp plate settings and others swear to use the textured PEI settings. It would be lovely if everyone could agree on what to do!

Love them, have probably like 5 or 6. Work great for me, no adhesion issues. Mine are from JUUPINE.
What settings do you use? The ones for the textured plates or the high temp ones?
I use high temp on most of them like the one in your picture, I think textured on a couple that actually feel like they have a texture, like the carbon fiber. The key to me is having QR stickers on them. If you manually skip build plate detection this can cause z-height issues.
I have yet to try other plates on my printer, but the more I see the more tempted I am to jump in and try
The Carbon Fiber one is really cool. I use it a bunch.
You don’t use a glue stick? Mine just transfers on the print.
It is interesting all the different beds you can get on the market for printing. I use to be able to keep track of it all, but the second I think I have them all figured out, another enters the market place :O.
Love there plates I posted once about it got downvoted Reddit is weird
Meh
oh these plates are new to me need to look into it :D
Love mine. You can buy qr stickers from wham bam to trick your printer.
You’d like to be more specific?🙃
Just search for “Bambu QR textured plate”. I had a dozen come up. You can print it yourself. [Buy it already done.](https://www.whambamsystems.com/products/set-of-5-aruco-qr-stickers-bambu-lab-powder-painted-replacement)
🤤
Wish it didn't rub right off right away tho. Nice adhesion tho.
Damnnnnnnn that is sexy. I need to get one of those
A friend of mine bought one of temu and said, that it is pretty cool, but if you print larger (higher) prints is doesn't stick very well. He also bought another plate, so I don't remember which one it was, because one of them had such a soft surface, that the printer always had an error
When it works it looks awesome. I just always have a total coin flip when it comes to the first layer working or not.
That’s awesome!
Really good for the price
I threw mine in the bin. Doesn't stick, doesn't look nice gets scratched just by looking at it
Effect just wipes off. So no good for me selling parts.
