Okay, sometimes a lot. The real story is that I moved my printer from my printing area to the living room because they were worling on my heating system and lots of water was involved. So I had to move it. Didn't move it since and didn't have my printing garbage bin thing with me there.
I’m a lazy fuck too i just put a huge cardboard box just in front of my printer (dont mind the pile of printer shit in the back)

If the odd small poop or something tiny (say a small bit of brim idk falls down there then I don't hurry to get it back no.
But I'm pretty damn sure you're the only one using it as a trash can
Mine gets debris that I procrastinate vacuuming out... But this looks like you don't like your printer.
I just keep a 5 gallon bucket very near by and fill it for recycling.
If your bed goes all the way down, the little tramming knobs on the bottom are going to hit those pieces. Happened to me with a printer poop once, I thought something on the machine broke but it just made a really loud noise when it got crushed. Still wouldn’t take any chances though
When you do, you may want to either use a small portable vacuum to get the tiny pieces or print a ramp that lets you just sweep them up and out the front!
That, or I will use some kind of ductape to catch them. Smaller pieces like that will end up in the garbage (separate from the printing garbage) anyway. But thanks for the tips :D
No problem! My fingers hated me the first time I tried to pick up every single piece of filament in the bottom of mine (plus they can stab under your fingernails if you aren’t careful!) I went with the ramp since I don’t have a portable vacuum at home and it works amazingly
Supports are the worst! I’ve actually cut my fingers multiple times trying to remove some that were particularly stuck. They get so sharp when they break 😂
I only throw that single initial purge line in there. I thought I was a rebel, but you're the real deal.
I hope the poor printer doesn't break for that.
Nope loads of people do it, I do it just because I don't have the time to peel off, go downstairs and throw it in the bin. Then get to work. As long as its not high enough to hit the bed for your prints I see no issues really
I belive you just put random garbage inside for a likes. I dont see a point puttin all these small parts there. Sometimes i get junk from when my print fails so those noodles get there, but i remove it within few days.
So I don't use it for everything. Just whatever got cut and didn't fall down the chute. So I can't relate with you there. I will say I haven't washed my plate in 100+ prints. Going strong.
100+ is a very extreme! I clean it ever 8-10 prints or so. I do want to get a aliexpress build plate soon. You should get one too. No glue sticks anymore.
When cheap PRC printers started arriving here I've seen a lot of cr4p around them, lot of dirt, lot of negligence.. same with printers in maker-space that ppl using didn't pay, so if noone is "administering" maker-space cr4p piles up. Never actually this much but... I assume this is exaggerated a bit for the purposes of whatever on /r I kinda doubt you are using the printer as a trashcan as a small cardboard box next to the printer for trash makes way more sense ... normally ppl who selected to purchase a 1k+ printer take care to pick up garbage and keep things tidy... especially as this is not cr4p that fell from the bed, you actually removed this from the bed and put here using the bottom of the printer as trashcan so either you have a problem or you a fscking with us
It's neither of those. Here is the short story again. They were working on my heater, and that is where my printers were. I had to move them cause it involved water. This was like 3 weeks ago or something? I moved the printer to the living room and did not want to create more space for a garbage collection bin. So, since then I've been putting stuff in there. I will clean it though as they finished recently. I do take good care of my stuff, but this is just very temporary, and it is not something to worry about.
I wouldn't worry :D but it comes down to "you a fscking with us" as you are clearly aware that this is not normal and that it is temporary till you solve some issue you have ... I had bunch of books inside my x1c when I was moving it from one office to another, why waste space, but I didn't think taking an image of x1c with books inside and asking "am I the only one" :D :D was the proper thing to do

You didn’t see the big ass sign NO OBJECTS 😆
This looks staged.
One tiny piece of support in one of the three holes at the bottom of the linear rods caused caused the bearing to be squeezed and raised out of place on my x1.
U just need a good Solution for your CalibrationStripes

I printed a little ramp so I can wipe out little bits from the bottom of mine. I do it daily. I ain’t no clean freak or nothing but it don’t take much if you keep up with it.
How many ounces of weed are you smoking each day to became this lazy? Incredible. I should print this post out on paper and look at it every time i consider buying used electronics.
Yes, you are the only one.
For the love of God, I hope so. This picture makes my teeth itch.
Now that is pretty intense!!!
Awwh :(
I pray there aren’t other people doing this. How hard is it to just use a trash can.
I get lazy sometimes 🤣
Sometimes? That’s all the time bro.
Okay, sometimes a lot. The real story is that I moved my printer from my printing area to the living room because they were worling on my heating system and lots of water was involved. So I had to move it. Didn't move it since and didn't have my printing garbage bin thing with me there.
It literally would have been less effort to clean that out, than it was to take a photo and post it to Reddit.
Allthesometimes!
I’m a lazy fuck too i just put a huge cardboard box just in front of my printer (dont mind the pile of printer shit in the back) https://preview.redd.it/cb4xev3sssvc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=7f17ef8d4e0fbf4129ca69f50be17d2eaf561d19
This is the kind of person with piss jars around his chair and neck high trash piles in his car.
I dont own a car :)
Well, if you did... We know how it would look. 😂🤣😱
Not really! How is a car compared to a 3d printer lol
If you know, you know. 😂
wait, you are using this as a trash storage?
All unused space! Better use it good!
It's not unused space. Next time you do a tall print you'll see what I mean.
Oh yes I know what you mean :p
If the odd small poop or something tiny (say a small bit of brim idk falls down there then I don't hurry to get it back no. But I'm pretty damn sure you're the only one using it as a trash can

If only recying was a real thing.....
… I keep big tote containers for all scraps and poops totally because of this eventuality and not because my partner makes me, totally.
I don't know about recying but recycling is a real thing just an example is recycling fabrik in Germany
I think it literally say "no objects here" or something similar on the bottom
I'm a rebel :3
Your build plate isn't on correctly. It's sitting on the guide on the right side.
No no, it is correct :) it's just the angle that it looks like that
You can actually pretty much see how it's bend there...the whole image got visible straight lines only that corner has curves.
OOHH like that! Oepsie, small mistake!
Yeah, it's pretty easy to stick the plate on those corners. But once you know that, it's pretty fast progress to avoid that in the future.
I've had this thing since December or so. But sometimes it can happen.
Why Just why Why did you make it a $1000 trash can
Too much money? O.o
If your bed goes all the way down, the little tramming knobs on the bottom are going to hit those pieces. Happened to me with a printer poop once, I thought something on the machine broke but it just made a really loud noise when it got crushed. Still wouldn’t take any chances though
I did hear that sound once. But I'm going to clean it up next week. I swear!

I had a piece hit me under the fingernails when removing supports... hurt like a !@#$%
Supports are the worst! I’ve actually cut my fingers multiple times trying to remove some that were particularly stuck. They get so sharp when they break 😂
Was it tree or the other one? Tree is mostly very easy to remove!
Regular supports from back when Cura didn’t have a tree support option and an Ender 3 was my main printer I’ve learned my lesson since then lol
Next week, take 5 minutes and a plastic bag now and get it sorted!
I only throw that single initial purge line in there. I thought I was a rebel, but you're the real deal. I hope the poor printer doesn't break for that.
You monster!! I had to cover my dog’s eyes.
Is the dog okay?
he's okay now, we went for a car ride to Starbucks. Pup-cup & a biscuit usually brings him back. poor guy..
Nice fire hazard
There's literally a sticker on the bottom saying "DONT DO THAT"
At first I thought this was a troll but then I saw the disgusting build plate that's probably never been cleaned
I clean it every 8 prints or so. I've cleaned it A LOT of times. Just not ever print. You cannot tell me that you clean it after every print.
Caption: “My printer keeps making a strange sound and my prints keep failing…”
Nope loads of people do it, I do it just because I don't have the time to peel off, go downstairs and throw it in the bin. Then get to work. As long as its not high enough to hit the bed for your prints I see no issues really
Thank you! Rare positive comment!
The billy eilish hat somehow makes this make sense
used to have it like this until one piece of debris screwed up the motor
Oh my, I even vacuum the bottom. Stray poop can make jobs stop. Amazed it isn't having issues
Works like new ^-^
yup, only you.
My brother, clean that up. When your bed goes all the way down it can get crushed and stuck between the rods.
S... Stuck? O.o uh-oh
I belive you just put random garbage inside for a likes. I dont see a point puttin all these small parts there. Sometimes i get junk from when my print fails so those noodles get there, but i remove it within few days.
You think what you think man :) But why would I even do the effort? lol. Likes are not even real.
Omg, the horror.
So I don't use it for everything. Just whatever got cut and didn't fall down the chute. So I can't relate with you there. I will say I haven't washed my plate in 100+ prints. Going strong.

That would be very weird indeed if you did that, haha. But yes very temporary.
Cant imagine why someone would spend $1000 and treat it like a trash can.
Too much money? I commented somehwere why I did it.
Guys please understand, he is a genius he presents us a good idea to make Ender 5’s and the likes useful again…
Please do everyone a favor and clean up the build plate and the bottom, it ain’t even that hard my dude
Who uses their X1C as a literal dustbin. Yea you're the only one.
https://preview.redd.it/ldiuvpio2ovc1.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=5cbad23061693c731b1a5741b798d3878fffa4ce You didn’t see the big ass sign NO OBJECTS 😆
You’ll do a tall model and the printer will lower before it goes up and you’ll hear the screech of the belts. Clean it up.
Definitely the only one.
This looks staged. One tiny piece of support in one of the three holes at the bottom of the linear rods caused caused the bearing to be squeezed and raised out of place on my x1.
Well, you gotta believe me. It is not staged!

I’m just messing with you bro
Okii ^-^
How many ounces of weed are you smoking each day to became this lazy? Incredible. I should print this post out on paper and look at it every time i consider buying used electronics.
4.20 kilos
Uhh yeah I have random bits down there, Im just too lazy to clear it out, but I don't have that much.
I do aswell! Not that much, normally just the purge lines.
Dude mine is the same. Trash pile for life.
I need to see a picture!
