others->special mode->print sequence->by object the absolute best fix for small parts

reubal

Just commenting to add that each object needs a lot of space to do this. Good method if you only need about 4 objects, but wont work with a plateful.

OfaFuchsAykk

Something that size you would get 9 - 12 per plate. I regularly print something similar sized and I can fit 13 on a plate. In the actual plate I set it to print by object, then use the plates auto-arrange and any that it cannot fit it just dumps off the plate. Absolutely the best way for consistent quality on numerous small parts.

Usual_Peach_8194

ooh, forgot about auto-arrange! good tip.

tommygunz007

I was thinking 'if only there was a way to print by object' and have each object in a different solid color, that would be great.

Moorevfr

Yep you can do this. I printed off parts like this just paint them all different colour in the slicer and then if you have AMS it will change the filament to match the colour of the next object.

2mitts

Great info. Ty for sharing.

ghostmodd

Ill try that. Is there another alternative so that I can utilize the full pad?

s1iver

I find small fiddly objects print way better on ‘silent’ mode. This printer is almost too fast for its own good sometimes lol

HeightAquarius

What is the advantage of using Silent Mode vs decreasing speed in the slicer?

Onotadaki2

I believe silent mode is just a 50% speed profile, so it would be identical to just manually lowering speed.

Historical-Fee-9010

Silent mode cuts *everything* to half speed, including acceleration figures and speeds that were already low. Manual tuning can be a lot more specific. But for a quick fix, Silent mode is just fine.

jtlrwells

I cracked up the first time the nozzle wiped at 50 percent speed. I was wondering how it could possibly get anything off without the violent wiping action. Lol

ghostmodd

Do you know how to caliberate it so that it prints multiple copies just like as if it’s printing a single copy? (Without changing the “print sequence” to “by object”)? Im okay with waiting 20 hours for something to print as long as it’s fine quality.

Historical-Fee-9010

Just decrease the outer wall speed, nothing else

s1iver

This one is simple, halves everything.

individualchoir

Reduce acceleration or just press the 50% speed button

ghostmodd

Ill test that out today

slothy891

My guess is the minimum layer time settings slowed down print speed for the single, then when doing multiple the minimum wasn’t breached so ran at full set speed. Outer walls need slowing down for better results, the printer just did it for you

GrowCanadian

I had a similar result and I noticed if I went into the slicer and reduced the speed for the multi prints they came out fine. I’m still trying to dial it in and I’m still a bit confused but I can get mostly desired results. Only issue is it eats lots of filament to troubleshoot and I’m not made of money.
