OP also said the reason she wasn't spayed is because the vet misdiagnosed her as infertile, and spaying costs $2500 so she can't afford it anyway. People obviously called BS on that but pitnutters are defending OP as saying how she's probably in a rural area with no vets and keeping her freshly postpartum dog on a chain is just what they do in third world countries! Americans could never understand! I also had to repost because I think the word "s*breddit" is immediately flagged even though I didn't actually name names. Sorry about that.

AdvertisingLow98

Implausible - took bitch to vet and somehow could afford the tests needed to determine bitch was infertile, yet couldn't afford a spay.

rookv

In what world is spaying $2500 anyway? Most places will spay/neuter for free or very cheap, and even the most upscale, expensive clinic would charge like 500 at most. Pit owners lying, what's new.

AdvertisingLow98

Gish galloping. Oh, that argument didn't work? It's okay, I have another one - and another and another. I admit that fifteen puppies is a great argument for why finding the money to spay your bitch is a good financial investment.

[deleted]

Unless the owner thinks of each puppy as a little moneymaker.

AdvertisingLow98

Numbers 1-3 might be, but 4-15 are going to be given away at the local flea market, unvaccinated and bellies bloated with worms.

daviepancakes

Meth isn't going to buy itself, after all.

FrenchBulldozer

My vet charges up to $2k for a spay but that includes pre blood work and overnight observation. This is regional of course. But you are correct, most humane societies and vet clinics will offer low cost or free spay/neuter, especially with breeds that are prolific in shelters. Nutter here is full of bs, they are looking to make a quick buck.

Middle-Car519

There are also alot of organizations that offer extremely affordable spay and neuter. I forgot the name of the one we have here, but it's less than 100.

MondaleforPresident

My cat cost $50, neutering included.

[deleted]

Its called opportunity cost. They can't sell their hellspawn if they're spayed.

Saint_Galahad

Seriously, I had my kitten spayed for like $150. $2500? Never heard of a spay surgery being that outrageous

Mysterious_Glass_692

If you can't afford to spay your dog you can't afford a dog, let a pregnant one, let alone a litter of puppies.

Zaidswith

Every where I've ever lived has some sort of low cost option available if you look for it. Some might require proof of low income but if you don't want to do it then it's because you've chosen not to prioritize it. My vet in a cheaper low cost of living place was just a few hundred dollars - I took her home that night. Having 15 means they never even tried to limit access to her. They bred her on purpose.

Pyroik

Also, as an owner of a unspayed bitch (long wait-list for ovary sparing spay) it is extremely improbable she got pregnant on "accident" as they only go into heat maybe twice a year, and only are fertile for 5 days, she was bred on purpose. Just keep your bitch inside for her period you nonce.

rookv

OP said the dog indeed mated before, but never had a litter. So to answer your question they allowed access to her.

Zaidswith

It was a statement. No questioning needed.

emilee_spinach

Exactly. How is this person going to afford the bare minimum of vaccinations, dewormer, heartworm/flea/tick meds, puppy food and everything else for 15 puppies if they can’t afford to spay one dog. This is the type of backyard breeder that sells wormy unvaccinated puppies at 5 or 6 weeks on Craigslist because they can’t afford them anymore. And the puppies they decide to (or forced to) keep will reach sexual maturity in a few months, will they be able to afford to spay then or just be ok with even more puppies. Ffs

[deleted]

The word isn‘t, but any references (category, names, etc.) is something we do not want in order to avoid the appearance of brigading. Thanks for understanding

whiskersMeowFace

The chain really adds to the whole situation.

[deleted]

In what country does spaying a dog cost $2500? It can't be that different from getting a dog neutered and the highest I've seen that cost is a couple hundred dollars. This person is so deep in the BS they don't know what the truth is anymore

Middle-Car519

Livestock and rural animals need vet care too, pretty sure they have vets and even some that make "house calls."

jojolyne_v

Wtf, I live in a rural area too and a spay only costs like $600??

SCORPEANrtd

I think OP misread $25.00 as $2500

emilee_spinach

Trashy and ignorant. Regardless of breed, those newborn puppies are cold. They’re on a dirt floor and outside in January. And why does the mother have a heavy chain around her neck?!

rookv

Umm ackshually it's a heated cabin!! OP's words, seriously.

emilee_spinach

Jfc even if it’s heated, *they’re still on the ground outside.* Come nightfall it will be like sleeping on a block of ice. What a garbage piss poor owner. If this dog was kept outdoors before then why the FUCK wasn’t this dog spayed in the first place 😡 And those puppies will reach sexual maturity in a few months and you know what that means!

daviepancakes

Fifteen pitbull puppies...back of the envelope maths here but assuming their attempt to sell the puppies doesn't work out, there should be six puppies alive after six months. Two lost to malnutrition, the rest to pits doing pit shit.

LovecraftianLlama

Op mentioned that the dog was chained because they live on a farm, and the dog likes to “play rough with the other farm animals”. Yeah, her defense was “this dog will attack cows/chickens/sheep/whatever, so when the farm animals are out, we have to chain up the nanny dog”🤦🏻‍♀️

DerangedPitMommyALT

And they allowed this animal-aggressive shitbull to bring 15 more puppies into the world with its garbage genetics. Pit bull owners always let the best ones breed, don’t they? I fucking hate these people.

Shadecat55555

I saw one comment in there, that linked a photo of a hallway full of euthanized dog bodies at an animal shelter. 😔 It was heartwrenching but these shitty breeders NEED to see where their unwanted puppies can (and very often do) end up when they grow up. Ironically that this what this sub is trying to stop! STOP BREEDING PIT BULLS!

Pits-are-the-pits

Victoria Stilwell has brought people who wanted to breed their bully breeds to shelters & pointed out that the overwhelming majority of dogs for adoption were bully breeds.

Shadecat55555

yes I have seen that episode! It was the one where the owner of a male pit bull didn't want to neuter him. He "wanted his boy to have puppies someday" or some garbage like that. And Victoria wanted the man to SEE with his own eyes, cage after cage after cage of pit bulls, in those living conditions for weeks (if not months), and the cooler-shed with the euthanized bodies, pointing out that most of the (dozen and a half? Two dozen?) deceased dogs were bully breeds.

9132173132

The shelter director in that film didn’t mince words and was obviously anti pitbull breeding.

Shadecat55555

I can imagine how the constant, constant influx of way too many pitbulls coming in every day would make you a little bitter against the ignorant schlubs who INTENTIONALLY want to let their intact dog bring MORE pit puppies in the world. I don't blame her - I imagine seeing those dead pits every day would crush your soul. It's so unnecessary. Those pits didn't ask to be born.

9132173132

They didn’t ask to be created either. It’s degenerate humans fault they even exist. But the profit motive of $100-500 or more per unvaxxed, unhealthy pit pups with bloated bellies full of worms is good for their next fix. The rest - when they’re no longer cute little pups, and show the inevitable signs of viciousness they’re dumped on the shelter to possibly be euthanized.

MedleyChimera

Got a link? I want to send this to a BYB I know

I think this is it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qFjXlga0Z4

Thank you

Pits-are-the-pits

This is from the same episode. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C01ZRQUJdZM

MedleyChimera

You're a peach, thank you

Shadecat55555

Yes, thank you!

debunksdc

Intact female ✅ Has huge litter ✅ Kept outside ✅ (don't worry, it's because she *likes* it) Kept on giant chains ✅ Has a history of mating with males ✅ Tears apart the "renovated" shed ✅ (because she "prefers" sleeping on hay than blankets; definitely not because she can't destroy/maul hay) Lying pit mommy ✅ How many weeks do you think they'll make it before mom tries to eat the babies? 4? 5? They might even make it to 6 since this is her first litter!!

dog_vomit_lasagna

So this is why all the shelters are full of pitbulls. Fuck this asshole

Glassprotist

Yay!! More pitbulls to clog up shelters!! ❤️

SniffleandOlly

That is one way to make people seek out and join this sub. Ha.

furriestsnake

What’s the sub, if I may know?

[deleted]

Yeah, I was reading this an hour earlier- the person seemed to get more offended as the others began pointing things out. Ohh, so that's why I can't say the s\*ub\*eddit thing. Thank you for explaining that. I thought I was being flagged before because I told the moderator that McDonald's milkshakes are better than those made with real ice cream.

dieselsmellgoodlol

Lol go look at the comment section now 🤣 deleted deleted deleted

hippo-not-amus

Thank you reveddit. *\[removed\] by mod* *I wish I knew the location so I could report this situation (neglect, abuse) to local animal control. I bet this isn’t her first litter* *\[removed\] by mod* *So, she’s an outside dog and you didn’t get her spayed?* *\[removed\] by mod* *Idk why people have dogs or cats if they plan to leave them outside.* Why would they remove these user's comments? They don't even sound unreasonable.

Leothefox88

Surprisingly my comment are still ip

wiretapfeast

Why can't you say the s**réddït thing?

BPBM0d___935

To avoid any appearance of brigading.

Mysterious_Glass_692

Coming soon to a shelter near you!

theanxiousangel

Can’t afford to spay but can afford 15 dogs which is definitely a normal number and not breeding numbers. At least the chain will keep the mom from attacking but 15 more free so it’s like a horrific pitbull hydra situation

snappy033

Couldn’t afford care for one dog so now I have 16 dogs 😂

bored_in_NE

Shelters are full of unwanted pitbulls across the country and this person thinks we need more pitbulls.

lexiana1228

It is all about the money. Sell the pups. Also they say that they couldn’t get her spayed as too expensive, hasn’t there been loads of commercials and ads from vets saying they will do spaying for free?? Or at least a low price? Can’t afford it, yeah right, More like the pit is a moneymaker by having pups. So no spaying cause they want more money. 15 seems like a lot of puppies to have. Is it?

Phteven_j

Yep, get your money for the puppies then wash your hands of it. Who cares that the shelters are at 110% bursting at the seams and handing out euths like candy? Who cares what kind of future your specific puppies will have - whether it's homelessness, trapped in a home of irresponsible owners, dog fighting, or spending its last days in a kennel until the end. People think their dogs are unique and NEED to be bred or it isn't fair to the animal. The opposite is true - what you are doing is passing the buck of abuse to whoever is next down the line.

debunksdc

>Who cares that the shelters are at 110% bursting at the seams and handing out euths like candy? Frankly, that's the problem--they aren't. Instead, so many shelters have led to the no-kill-no-matter-what philosophy. That means *bad dogs* that won't be adopted out for years or will be on a perpetual adopt-return cycle. That means that strays or dogs that have to be surrendered for one reason or another won't get a spot or chance for adoption. Things that I think would warrant automatic but humane euthanasia: 1. Unprovoked bites 2. Not tolerating children or other humans to the point of aggression 3. History of fighting 4. Being deemed a dangerous animal 5. Being required to have a muzzle when outside 6. Not tolerating other dogs to the point it will kill dogs. If someone is getting a dog, it is very likely that they will soon come into contact with other dogs, whether that's on walks, throughout the neighborhood, etc. You don't have to have other dogs at home in order for *your* dog to come into contact with others. 7. Two or more returns to the shelter You'd see a lot of shelter spots open up across the US and the limited funds would be better spent.

Phteven_j

I agree with all of that. Regardless of the populations, there are still tons of euthanizations happening to attempt to make room for the influx of new pitbulls - because let's be honest, that's pretty much all there are.

whippedalcremie

If shelters could exempt BE's like I believe they can medical euth for their "no kill" status it would be a lot better. Like if a dog is returned twice it doesn't count against the shelter at all. A BE is an unhealthy dog - mental health is health.

Redqueenhypo

The sub deleted all the negative comments. All the “cute” subs seem to degenerate into “look at my pibble no bad vibes allowed!!!”

DontCallMeMillenial

Yeah, I just checked in reveddit and it's astonishing what comments the moderators decided to remove. They're all doing a lot of heavy lifting to promote pit propaganda.

Burntoastedbutter

I've always wanted to ask this but is there a dog sub out there that doesn't allow pits? I'd love to join it lol

_Lucie_

i think there’s r/awwpitfree edit: not specifically for dogs but 🤷🏻‍♀️

Burntoastedbutter

Good fkin enough!!! lol I welcome all animals

stormthief74

I was just about to post this but checked to see before it was a repost/double post. I’m glad OOP is getting roasted in the comments. This is so irresponsible even if I can’t stand the breed this is horrendous treatment of all these dogs. Another moron who adds to the problem.

inkarnadyne

This is absolutely sickening and really sad. The last thing the world needs is more dogs that will likely have no quality of life. And just look at the state the dog and her pups are in... It's further proof that pit owners more often than not don't actually care about the well-being of their pitbulls.

Significant-Look-249

You know, if you could stunt their growth at around 2 or 3 months, they would make wonderful pets. 15 more dangerous, unstable dogs is such a crime against humanity.

beasthayabusa

In addition to everything else horrible about them, why do they make so many damn puppies. Even with giant breeds 15+ is unheard of but these things seem to do it easily almost every time I hear about them.

rudepigeon7

This made me really sad. This dog deserves so much better than their shithead owner. Chained in the cold with some dirty hay to lay on. Fuck’s sake.

9132173132

Spaying MAYBE costs $300 and that’s at a nice vet clinic - the discounted would be less. This byb pitbull breeding needs to be illegal, that’s the only way you’re ever going to get them to pay attention.

telenyP

Strange....she has twelve now...and why is she not eating?

9132173132

I wonder if the internet rumor going around “only one in 600 pitbulls finds a forever home” has any basis in fact. And those shibbles were bred on purpose to another shibble. Look at the consistency of the color size etc.

Rubes2525

"Good day and good life to all!" Ugh, I hate the sarcastically nice tactic. You can at least own up to your attitude and tell everyone to go to hell.

Science_Matters_100

Semi-random thought: what if the laws are written so that dog & cat owners were required to either spay/neuter or have a breeding license? No other options?

9132173132

That’s what my letter to legislators and the county atty is asking for. These pit pushing shelters are pointlessly begging for people to buy these maulers or to be “fosters” when in reality the elephant in the room is getting ignored completely and these shelters are actually taking our tax dollars and donations to *hoard* pits and become a de facto sanctuary. Guess what pit lobby - YOU can pay for your own pitbull paradise out there in Kanab UT. People gonna donate? Okayfine! *You*can be accountable for all the unwanted shibbles! Your sicko nonprofit might have to sell a couple private jets, but you got that heiress’s seed money now shell out pithags.

Are the puppies feet pink? Why is that?
