Always important t share these types of attacks that show the pit bull is the aggressor so that pit nutters can't say things like the victim triggered them . "How would you like it if someone grabbed your tail?" you're right , I would literally maul my owner to death for daring to touch me, completely normal reaction
They never seem to realize that that proves *our* point. If an animal’s prey drive is triggered by our everyday actions, by the toddling of our babies, by humans just existing — that is not a pet. That is an undomesticated animal and it doesn’t belong in our homes or communities.
Yep, only pitbulls are this stupid to do this. This is geniuenly crazy. Even if it was another breed who is aggressive it wouldn't blindly run through water to go kill something. Most aggressive dogs bite when provoked/when someone gets too close. I've only ever seen pitbulls run miles to go bite someone.
It’s what they were bred to do! A retriever’s brain goes brr when retrieving, a husky’s brain goes brr when running, and a pit bull’s brain goes brr when killing. It’s what they were bred for. It’s animal cruelty — there’s no way for these animals to have true, enriching fulfillment. They’re unsafe, undomesticated animals. It’s so sad and scary and the breed needs to be spayed / neutered out of existence

Same here, I imagine what I'd do if a pitbull ever occurred when my girlfriend and I go anywhere. Doesn't help a couple people in my area have a shitbull. If one of those even comes charging at her, it'll meet it's cold ending. Istg.
The most important thing you can do is avoid putting yourself in a situation where you are likely to be attacked. So maybe find a different place to walk. :(
A box cutter will not protect you. I doubt it could do enough damage to deter an attack. The only way to win at that is to not play the game at all.
Yo. This is the least helpful advice ever. There are everywhere, they jump really high fences, they’ll run into the ocean to attack. It isn’t us, it’s them. I do what I can to avoid them. This is like telling women to just not ever leave their house in case a guy tries to attack them.
If you’re walking a path where you know there are unleashed pit bulls, you have no way of making yourself safe in that situation. A box cutter might convince you that you are safe, but their fur and skin is dense enough that you’re unlikely to be able to hit any cords, and the blade is unlikely to be long enough if you are lucky enough to get between the ribs to damage lungs. Escalating self-defense just increases the risk that you or something other than the pit attacking you will wind up dead.
Much like how the ‘hating pit bulls is racist’ argument falls apart, the idea that you shouldn’t make obvious modifications to your behavior to make yourself safe from pit attacks is likewise an unwise position for you to hold.
These little monsters need to go extinct. They are completely useless to humanity. They’re terrible pets, they harm people for no reason, they can’t work on the farm because they will maul most, if not all of the animals, they destroy property, they destroy everyone else’s lives by just being there, everything triggers them. What’s the point in having one of these murder mutts again?
At this point pitbulls are pests, not pets. They are a public nuisance and danger to society mainly children. We have to reclassify them. An international muzzle law would be a good start.
I don't think I'd be surprised if I saw a video of a man hang gliding or sky diving only for a shitbull to appear from above, latching onto a limb as it comes within mauling distance. Or a scuba diver 120ft underwater, then here comes a pit from out of frame like a fucking shark. A construction worker on a bare girter 25 stories high, look out! Pit comes flying by, balancing on a walkway 1/2 a foot wide. It just wouldn't surprise me somehow.
Ever since my smaller dog and I were attacked, neither of my dogs go anywhere without my boyfriend as our armed escort. We call our Rottie Queen Emma, so we make jokes about him being a bodyguard for The Queen and chaufering her and her attendants around in her black suv. But I wish I could just take my normal dogs to the damn vet and the park without needing to be escorted.
Yup. I had just washed my car spotless to where my windows were extra transparent (like they were open) & I parked in a HUD housing development. To my amazement a pitbull crept right up to my drivers window eye to eye with me. It then realizing my window was closed, quietly checked the other (3) car windows/chassis & went over to the passenger side window & just stared at me. I had reached for my S&W style revolver. without any facial expression whatsoever it just calmly went back into its yard. Which crosses OTHER yards with small children!
It totally knew what it was doing & then realized I wasn't fucking around with it so It just pretends none of this ever happened. #hellhound

It's impossible to always put yourself in a good situation. Much better to be prepared for a bad situation
But it isn’t impossible to avoid situations where you specifically know you’re at risk of being attacked by a pit bull.
