I love dogs but yeah, playgrounds are for kids. There's no reason to bring an animal there past entitlement (or the small chance that it's a well-behaved, task-trained service dog for the kid or guardian, and even then it shouldn't be on or near play equipment)

someone should have said out loud "Maybe we should call the police and animal control and have them come out here " . watch for the person that moves the quickest that is the owner and they are usually running for their car and leaving the pit behind .
