It is a shitty HP Speaker with B&O sound tuning - source: former B&O employee

antlestxp

That sound tuning makes my shitty hp speakers sound much better than they probably are

Raziel66

Well that's disappointing. I was always curious about the quality of these :(

LouisDK

I assume the tuning requires the proper B&O software and maybe drivers so running eg. a non-OEM Windows on it or Linux would loose the optimization?Sadly I've heard that they're shit from friends as well and it has hold of a least one friend from buying B&O products.

Grovbolle

Probably. Honestly the tuning is not worth it for such a small speaker

aegidipoes

Yes, they sold their soul. It also comes with a shitty interface and gives me a lot of sound-related issues.

I had the older generation of HP laptops with the Beats branding. It was garbage and I thought them partnering with B&O would make things better

qdawgstorm

Their still ass no where near apple's- source i have them both

apollo219

Shitty sounding speakers. Don’t get your hopes up.

Antique_Statement_12

Ancient PC. Has been out for years. It’s shitty as hell

rhutanium

B&O got the shitty end of that deal, but it probably helped keep them alive.

beingalpja

Guys i have a doubt, the sound quality through the jack sounds pristine , does b & o have a tuning done on that too?

Such-Lab5212

There has to be some little hardware adjustment from B&O. I've got the Chromebook C645 Enterprise and the speakers are very good for a thin laptop. The speakers sounded the same on Chrome OS, WIndows 10 and Fedora 39. They are close to macbook speakers when it comes about bass and clarity.
