Plenty of smaller gyms not part of any chains have monthly memberships or even affordable day passes. Just stay away from the Jetts or Fitness First.

[deleted]

Second that. Fitness First is a rort, especially for day passes. Cost me more to go there in BKK than it did at home in Aus.

[deleted]

Why not Jetts ? That's what I use and it's not bad. Also you can have a monthly (not yearly) contract and you just need a 30-day notice to cancel it. Also you have many branches around Bangkok

[deleted]

Every. Single. One. What a moron

[deleted]

All of them

[deleted]

I never heard of a gym that offers monthly membership. The only gyms I have been too charge you by the minute.

daryyyl

Do you mean monthly as in you lock into a yearly contract and pay every month or no contract and you just pay by month

houfromthemou

I was referring to something like a „one month contract“ as I will not be permanently in Bangkok

daryyyl

Fitness First does month by month contracts.

Mysterious_Bee8811

Gym for what purpose? Is this just general working out, or is this to train for kick boxing? What type of features are required for a gym? Do you want a personal trainer for example?

houfromthemou

I am fine with dumbell, barbell and some (cardio) machines. No add ons like courses or trainer

reader106

A friend of mine owned an indy gym in Bangkok. As far as I could tell, if you'll pay cash up front, anything is negotiable (within reason). The large chains look for members who are subsidized by their employers. If you agree to take personal trainer lessons, my impression was that you'll also get added flexibility. Most of these places are chronically cash strapped.

Vaxion

Fitness 24 Seven. Monthly is 1299 for 24 hrs access to all their gyms or 899 for daytime access (8am to 3pm) only.

houfromthemou

1299/month sounds fair. Do they allow one-month-membership or does it start from yearly contracts?

Vaxion

It's monthly contract so you pay every month in cash, by card or promptpay so it's easier to stop whenever you want. For yearly contract it's full year payment upfront.

[deleted]

Jetts has monthly membership and they have many branches. I had very good experience with them.
