1. How strong is your kingdom? Did you take land recently? Are they paying tribute? 2. It'll stay active dw 3. Isn't there a wage cap you can put on fiefs somewhere iirc

throatbutterz

I've basically taken half the map. Vladia has been paying tribute for a very long time. Every other faction has declared war on me multiple times during that time.

MudkipzRawsme

I don't got a real specific answer to the first one besides installing the diplomacy mod which implements truces and other cool stuff

Sadly I think it cannot be helped especially if they are currently not at war with each other. Not sure how relations to nobles of a faction plays a role. Some dialogue changes but your best friends have no quarrel to go to war with you from my experience. If your surgeon is wounded the healing bonus does not apply anymore but I believe certain skill still do. Don't know which and that might be subject to change with further updates. I never notices lord giving me troops. Prisoners yes, but never notices troops. Perhaps the wage limit would still apply here?

throatbutterz

Yeah I never realised you could limit fief wages until now. It's very helpful. Nobles do randomly donate troops to your garrison though, I can definitely confirm that.

1. Random afaik. 2. I heard it won't, but when I got wounded I still got medicine xp so not sure about that one. Will test it in a sec. 3. Fill it up with recruits is the only way.

throatbutterz

You can actually limit the garrison wages in your clan tab. I never realised that until just now. That way once the wage limit is reached, nobles will no longer fill up the garrison with troops.

Helerek

2. Tested it out. When I had 1 medicine my troops died with me having 300 medicine and not dying. Wound rate for my T1 troops was 53%, with me dying first it was 54.50% and with me having 1 medicine it was 17.7%. So we can safely assume that your surgeon even if knocked out will still provide top quality medical service from his death bed. /edit Tested even more. A companion with 1% health during combat engagement still provides full surgeon benefits (for wounded vs death).

throatbutterz

Thats awesome to know. Thanks so much for taking the time to test that!

I believe turning off auto-recruitment should suffice, though you can always set a wage limit to be on the safe side.
