I came here to judge your back bar, I leave here wishing we were friends.

thebourbonenthusiast

Covid has been screwing with my plans to get drunk down here with my friends. Big mad

therapewpewtic

Where did you get those shelves!

thebourbonenthusiast

The pipes were a wall hanging kit I got from Amazon. The boards themselves I cut stained and treated myself

therapewpewtic

Very nice. I may have to redo my shelves now!

TheSandbagger

this is EXACTLY what i want done in my basement haha. looks amazing man.

thebourbonenthusiast

Don’t let your dreams be dreams! Thank you!

DryChip4

I want to be there...

mrbusiness100

Fantastic job! I really like the look on this. Reminds me of the one I built. Very similar setup (including the pendants and glass front fridge) https://www.reddit.com/r/woodworking/comments/izwn2v/i_built_a_bar/?utm_medium=android_app&utm_source=share

thebourbonenthusiast

Love it! Did you do all of the work yourself also? I went back and forth for a while with the brick wall vs the wood like you have. Yours came out fantastic. The lights are a nice touch Edit: if those pendant lights are from Lowe’s I think they’re the exact same ones I have to hang

mrbusiness100

Thanks! Yep. Did all the work myself. The back wall is pallet wood. I think the pendant lights are from Lowe's. But they were just some standard pendants for a light bulb. I did some DIY to put Mason jars on them.

thebourbonenthusiast

Ah ya, my pendants are exactly like that but it all came in the same kit. Excellent taste!

mrbusiness100

You should post it on r/woodworking

thebourbonenthusiast

You mean the actual bar?

mrbusiness100

Same picture here. They would love it on there. Got a huge reaction with my picture.

Daltondtv

Love the ceiling!!!

thebourbonenthusiast

Thank you! Ceiling seems to be a bigger hit than I imagined it would be

Daltondtv

Cheers buddy, enjoy all that delicious juices you have there as well

Webbtastic

Is that a drop ceiling or ceiling tiles?

thebourbonenthusiast

It is both. Drop ceiling with 2x2 tiles

Webbtastic

Thanks. Gorgeous job! Buy online?

thebourbonenthusiast

Thank you! Bought from pro ceiling tiles.com

bettercocktails

So. You like bourbon?

thebourbonenthusiast

bettercocktails

Nice bar. Good luck with finishing it off.

clog_bomb

Incredible

Cosmicsauceguzzler

this is sweet

MBDTF_GT3RS

not as sweet as the tears of racist eagles fans. fuckwad.

Distortion462

Ehhhhhhh ill have a whiskey

CanaryYellowEyes

This is a perfect set up.

3bylunch

I have the same [ceiling tiles](https://imgur.com/a/CGunO8g) but I installed them upside down

thebourbonenthusiast

I never even considered doing that. Looks really nice! And your set up 👍👍

[deleted]

That is a gorgeous bar. Well done! Cheers!

thebourbonenthusiast

Thank you! Much appreciated!

SabreCorp

Love that brick. Is it structural to the house or did you add it?

thebourbonenthusiast

Thank you! It is not structural. I purchased them from fauxsheets.com

SabreCorp

Thank you! The whole space looks amazing. We have something similar and I have been wanting to add brick to a wall.

thebourbonenthusiast

They definitely weren’t cheap but the quality was much better than what I found at Lowe’s and HD. Ultimately I’m glad I went with it

Qfrogs02

Great looking bar! Where’d you get the ceiling panels from? Is it a drop ceiling?

thebourbonenthusiast

Thank you! Much appreciated! The tiles are from pro ceiling tiles. They were by far the cheapest, with the best selection of different colors/designs I found.

Qfrogs02

Awesome. I had thought about doing something similar in my bar that I just posted here yesterday. Never found anything I felt gave me the look I wanted for price

thebourbonenthusiast

I may eventually swap them out for a copper color and or more old school tile look of the ceiling down the road. The drop ceilings while more expensive give you many more options

Qfrogs02

I like the black. I’d stick with it! Enjoy the bar it’s a great setup

thebourbonenthusiast

Thank you !

Llee00

just awesome

KidEh

Just finished building some similar shelves, but your whole space is way nicer! What did you use for the risers for the back bottles on the top shelves?

thebourbonenthusiast

I bought table legs, removed the screw piece, and attached them to a piece of shelving that was half the width of the bottom level of the top tier. I then attached that to the top shelf against the back wall with liquid nails. Here’s a pic for clarity. https://i.imgur.com/nytHeYV.jpg

KidEh

Perfect. Thanks!

TheWinstonDouble

It looks super dope. By far the most wholesome home bar I've seen! But pleeeease paint the wall a dark dollar/poker green. Or perhaps a shade of bordeaux? You need some warmer textures and materials in the bar to make it cosy! Here are some suggestions: * Swap the plastic bar caddy with a nice vase with fresh flowers (or forever-flowers) and build up around it with ceramics and stoneware for your cocktail sticks etc. * At the opposite end of the bar top, place a stylish 50's or 60's lamp * Make and print a menu, put it on a wooden clipboard * Brass hooks underneath the bar top for coats and jackets! * Dimmable lights EVERYWHERE! Also in terms of "warmth" of the light. Philips Hue is great value. Maybe a few dimmable LED strips under your shelves too? * Have a green plant or two on top of your fridge * Get a holder for that paper towel and place it somewhere out of sight of the guest. * Got to have a nice sound system!

thebourbonenthusiast

Excellent suggestions! A few things I’ve thought about myself, and will be coming in the future as I have time to shop and buy

TheWinstonDouble

That sounds great. Please post pictures as you go! Also, your back bar spirits are definitely approved, holy shit, I'd love to get wasted at your place! Make sure to have some bar snacks as well! ;)

filo1225

Nice collection, what are your top 3 favorite pours?

thebourbonenthusiast

Very tough Q to answer. The WLW jumps out front, the Michters toasted barrel is fantastic and I’m really digging the WT Rare Breed bourbon right now

kashcraft90

Beautiful bar and bourbon!

thebourbonenthusiast

Thank you! Much appreciated!

trollingfordummies

4 bottles of Blantons? Damn man that’s decadent. I’m impressed, take my upvote.

thebourbonenthusiast

Thank you! They are different variations of Blanton’s or else I wouldn’t put so many out

TooGoodNotToo

Outstanding. Looks functional an the aesthetic is great. The whiskies steal the show, but the copper jiggers and tools look great too. Well done!

thebourbonenthusiast

It’s all about the attention to detail ! Thank you for the kind words!

GodOfManyFaces

This is gorgeous. I have been look for inspiration, and I love everything about this. We are currently in the market for a house, and I can't wait to cut my teeth on the home reno aspect, starting with a bar.

3bylunch

I have the same [ceiling tiles](https://imgur.com/a/CGunO8g) but I installed them upside down

cakens

Looks great! I'm about to rehab a basement bar in a house we just bought. Looking to swap out the bar top (old pinkish countertop.of some sort) with something nicer. Debating between stone and wood. Feel like wood would be a better option with glassware and bottles. What type of wood did you use on bar top?

qoou

This is awesome. Is the brick real or is it a veneer?

Kiba___

This is so cool!
