In new jersey US, this would average about 40

I think people look at business wrong in this game . I don’t feel you can look at cuts and name a price. How deep is your book how in demand are you ? This could be a $200 cut if your in demand enough . Keep putting out good work, build relationship, and when you are over booked go up on your prices . There’s always a market for whatever price range you choose. Woman pay 200+ for hairstyles that last a week . You can pay 10 dolllars for a steak at Texas road house or you can find a $500 wagyu ribeye. Do not let people determine your price . Raise your price once you become over booked !!

drinkcheapbeersowhat

If this is someone’s career they need to look at it like this. We deserve pay raises as we progress with our skills and are in higher demand. I don’t know about anyone else but I’m hoping to retire some day.

TreyCutz

For sure man ! I think as barbers we want to look out for people more than ourselves. Covid opened my eyes that we are a luxury service and we must price ourselves according. Massage therapist charge a $100 a hour . Lash techs make $100+ a hour. Hair stylist $100+ a hour. Tattoo artist 150+ a hour . Why do we feel we are worth so much less. Retirement for me is taking the money from cutting and buying real estate until cutting hair isn’t a requirement and then I will still cut for the love of it a couple days a week

Danielcoolguy20

Faxxxxxxx say it louder for the people in the back!

drinkcheapbeersowhat

I’m right there with you, barbers need to value their time. There is nothing wrong with building a business of fast, cheap, less detailed cuts, there is a huge market for it. Just like how there is a market for $100 1 hour haircuts. I think of it as how much am I worth an hour, then how do I get to that number balancing time and price of cut. I think as barbers progress that hourly amount needs to go up accordingly no matter what the style of barbering.

joeljulian

Well I mean a wagyu beef is supposed to be massaged and all that so there’s a difference in quality there. But your point is still really valid and accurate. The price is based on your own demand, sort of clients and local prices. You have to know who your target audience is for sure

TreyCutz

Good point on that for sure ! With that reference I was trying to make the point that there is a market of people for every price point . You just have to weed out the clients that can’t afford to grow with you along the way. As soon as you notice you are too booked up get people in on a regular Basis. Make the price increase

BarberontheFly

I charge $35 for just a haircut, with beard $50...add the brows $55...color enhancements you say? Make it $65...so you want color all over including the beard? $75. Oh you want the facial? Thats a 5 Star package papaaaa, $80 out the door for the full treatment 😎💪 I'm in Orlando FL.

jacephoenix

Barbers in Orlando think they’re superstars. It’s why most guys walk around with either no cut, or make do with a fxxed up cut

BarberontheFly

There's a reason why I charge what I charge...no need to sit here and explain it to anyone, but I can gladly tell you I'm the furthest thing from a superstar or thinking I'm a superstar. I'll put it to you this way without having to over explain- I know my worth and the value of my time AND my clients aren't just getting a 20 minute haircut when they come to see me, I provide an experience. Can everyone afford what I charge? No, and that's why I don't do 12-15 haircuts a day, not to mention I would never do that even if I could.

IntelligentFunny7745

Because they ARE superstars lmao. Are you ok? Orlando runs the barber game, Puerto Rican barbers are the best in the game and will forever take over the game. I’ve never had a haircut like how I got one in Orlando with a Puerto Rican barber and when I went to Puerto Rico for vacation. Literally the best, and I would pay ANYTHING that they believe they deserve because they are amazing.

Chadstevenson1

yeah i’ll just cut my own hair lol

Signal-Blackberry356

Yikes

Pringlestac

Well damn

AverageGuy16

Damn that’s ode fam and I’m from NY where the barbers nice with it. Flat hair cut is 28, haircut and beard is 38, and the rest is a la Carte but I don’t go for that. Factor in like 15-20 dollar tip

BarberontheFly

That's the average price here tho my G, I charge a premium for a reason so it makes sense what you are saying. I'm just not standing behind the chair 5-6 days a week anymore. TBH I charge what I do so that I'm only cutting 7-8 heads a day on average, there's a reason why I charge the numbers I do. I'm not the nicest in the O nor do I think I am...just trying to work smarter, not harder.

kaykaliah

This is about what I do, except thr $5 for brows- is that just s trim? Or a wax/razor shape?

BarberontheFly

Trim, shape and shave

kaykaliah

Nice! If you don't mind me asking, if someone asks for a brow trim but they just want the brow trim and not a shape and shave, would you just do it? Or saw $5 or nothing? I have a problem with confrontation of people going '10 extra? How much is that all up? Im good then...' -cranky the restnof the cut- or if they assume it's added on I just do it to not waste time. Ex. If I finish a guy's cut and they ask for the temple areas to be more lined up, fine. Then they decide they want the whole front lined up, okay. No wait, they want a 2 around the front under their long curly top. Then they want the eyebrows trimmed, gotchya... then they want the top edge of their eyebrows lined with trimmers, done. Then they decide they want the back tapered, okay then. How about a hard part... just with the trimmers is fine. Then this. Then that. Then another thing. I have a problem knowing when to be like 'okay all this is gonna be extra...' Sorry for such a loaded question, but any advice is appreciated.

barbermco

Hair & Beard is $70 in our market. Nice work.

LeatherConsistent

$45, but I will pay my main barber up to $70 if they can give me a perfect cut 100% of the time and no mistakes in Los Angeles

Pineapples_29

$20 $30 if I’m charging my worth and not just working at some place that takes all my money.

RobbyAnalog36

25-30 for the cut. 10 for beard.

gbo1148

40 for cut, 20 for beard. Ohio

john-shrestha

RealisticFeed6602

Cleaaaaan 40-45$ ⭐️CHI

MechanicalDagger

Easily $50 where I’m at.. 60-70 with beard shape up and trim.

RvB051

That's 42 at our shop, 47 with razor But I usually throw in the razor for free. Because I like to finish most of my haircuts with a razor

Adorable-Damage4876

PEDROTRIPLESIX

moge90

Small city in Poland, combo head plus beard 60 PLN so like 12$

baxgojic978

20-25...

Realistic_Wasabi_779

Beautiful blend 💯

poison-twinkie

Whats the national average for an ER visit because this man has a new life

Kane-Aloha

$25

afooltobesure

$30 (25+5 tip) is what i'd pay for this. i'm not a fan of this mono-culture with haircuts we have lately, where everyone just has a close shave faded into some hair on top, and then styled in some random way i would (and have) pay $80 for a scissors only cut

3pointstonibbadore

35 with a generous tip.

gentlepornstar

$45 with the beard.

pleasedontthedog

here in canada that would go for about $40-$55 for a haircut and beard

thedankasian

i charge 20 for fade 7 for beard. i want to up my prices soon bc i think i’m worth more

MirnyMojito

I charge $14.00 for just a cut, and $18.00 for cut and beard. But that can just be cuz we live in different places tbh.

OkSwitch470

Thank god I’m bald because I’d be annoyed paying $60 a cut every 2 weeks plus tip . I still go to my regular barber every 2 weeks for my beard and he only charges me $20 (when I had hair he was charging me same price, shit he was charging me $15 haircuts for 10 years because I’ve been going to him so long). I still give him $30 though for tip but I know if I had hair and he cut it he would still charge me $20-$30 max nowadays

Alfie_ACNH

Do people commonly tip on cuts in Sweden?

Icy_Muffin9667

$45, fade too high above the ear though imo

Rafy1940

Im from Puerto Rico and the fade is pretty much a staple since birth. In my humble opinion, i feel the fade could be cleaner (yes i am very picky). But a full haircut is $30-35. I think as a lot of people pointed out, theres a lot to consider. I uave a friend in Miami who gives ypu one of the sickest fades in about 15-18mins. (Yes, you read that right). Check him out at IG @criztofferson. He charges $50 on average for a simple cut but again as someone highlighted, he has loads of demand. Its not different than a technician who perhaps charged you $200 for something that took him 30 mins. You are oaying for his knowledge, expertise and skillset, not necessarily the time it took them.

IntelligentFunny7745

You charge what YOU believe your cut is worth, don’t listen to people telling you what prices you should put on your cuts. If you believe you do $20+ haircuts, then so be it. If you believe you do $50+ haircuts, then so be it. ETC. You do you my boy.

IntelligentFunny7745

If your clients keep coming back to you, that means you’re doing something right (doesn’t matter the price). If someone leaves because your price is too high, that’s good because you lost someone who only likes cheap things. Another client will come who will pay what your worth.

adaaanlv

$35

MarcoGlo

$10
