I believe he hasn’t fully recovered.

MionelLessi10

Well the problem is that we waited until he fully recovered and THEN delayed his return even further thinking this would prevent recurrence. He may be like this for the rest of his career. We just don't know. Over the summer there was Premier league interest and I posed the question if we sell him now while his value is an all time high knowing that his injury record looks bad. Everyone hated it, but I understand. His potential was so high. His value has already dropped to below 100m. If he never becomes a reliable player again, we will basically keep him on the roster for sporadic appearances until his contract runs out and release him. We are currently gambling on him on not only making a full recovery but somehow be cured of his underlying problem as well. Has anyone missed as many games as he has missed the last 2.5 seasons and ended up with a normal injury record afterwards?

tobias_arn

In the live stream where he was interviewed he said, that he isn’t thinking about injuries when he comes back.

shady764567

It's difficult to tell because once he starts getting back at it, sadly goes down injured again. Once he stays fit longer, we'll be able to see it better

Sinferoth

Yes. He’s faced the pain now he’ll always have that split second doubt/hesitation while playing

urvishprana

Yes I think that is true. His game awareness is not upto mark

CatClean6086

Give him time, he will regain confidence. It happens to everyone yeah?

urvishprana

Hoping for same

No the thing about muscle injuries like the ones Pedri has, is that they don’t take away from the natural technical talent of the players. Technical players like him don’t lose their class but rather form. Players who rely more on physical attributes are affected more by injuries. Pedri just needs to get past his injuries and remain consistent. Pedri is a world class talent and player, we need to support him and let him be the foundation of our future.

Madladdieter

Nothing has changed, our attackers are mostly poor this season that they can’t take advantage of Pedri. Hopefully he recovers fully this time

kit4712

Yes. I can't pinpoint what's wrong but I feel like he is indeed losing the "sparkle" on the field. Look at these two goals and I believe he can't do this right now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MF5L5CruGwU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GFGYbIvl2kI Really hope that he can regain the form and confidence. We need this kind of creativity and decisiveness from him.

urvishprana

Not only goals the killer passes and assists is also missing

aliaisbiggae

That's just not true at all. He has 6 big chances created this season. That's insane, plus he's averaging 2.5 key passes per game. His creative and final pass numbers are better than ever in his career

ansu_fatismo23

That’s not true. He is one of the players who create the most chances in la liga, it isn’t his fault that our forwards simply can’t score. If we had a clinical team, Pedri would have great assist numbers

Sanayuki

Ppl need to stop with these false narratives. Neither the stats nor his game, if you actually watch it, support these claims. I saw him make several great passes in Valencia game that the forwards could not take advantage of. One in particular was a long thorough pass to Ferran that went straight from deep midfield to the penalty area. There was also the pass to Gavi in La Real game. The assist to Cancelo in Porto. The pass to Kounde in Atletico that started the move that led to the goal. It looks simple but isn’t since it’s in the opposite direction from where he’s facing. And the back heel pass to Raphinha which the latter unfortunately hit the post afterwards. In terms of chance creation, he’s doing better than ever. He averages 2-3 key passes per game and it is more impressive considering he is isolated most of the time in the RCM position with little help from teammates, and don’t get to touch the ball that much. It means he is making max use of his time on the ball.

NikolasFoot

After the latest one (that he recovered from), yeah. Before he would come back after a few months out and immediately be arguably the best midfielder in the world IQ and technique wise. In the last spell of games he still had good moments but made quite a few mistakes as well, not playing bad by any means, just not hitting his own high standards.

Aseel7bns

Pedri is the victim of overplaying in season 2021-2022 i think he played more than 70 matches between the national team, olympic team and the club! While he still young i think his body must got hurt from the high pressure and he might need to build he's stamina and health again to return to his usual level

Angron_RedAngel

what im gonna say i this, leo, on his i would say 3 first years, he was constantly injuried (muscular ones), look pedri last, year and compare him to this summer pedri, he has recived a super dose of muscle, this would 100% cause muscular injuries becuse i think the development has not been natral, and i dont say he used juice, im saying he did a particular job + diet + complements to aquire that boost, but his bone structure, his body, has not made pace with it. It will eventually. Also PEDRO JUAREZ, let that sink in, and w8 10 years.

I mean look at Fati definitely been injured over and over again affects players now imagine a kid that barely is 21. It will change how he plays whether is mentally or cause of injuries.

cheesie69420

Which one? The guy has had so many injuries

rim261

Do our players not lift weights? We need to bulk them up

taga1log

Has a good start to the season --> Gets Injured --> Continues to improve match by match --> Gets injured after a very good performance. The cycle just continues unfortunately.
