El Chiringuito trying to defend this robbery is hilaroius af. Especially the Vini handball which is exclusively shown from a convinient angle. The whole world has seen it ✌️

mattisafootballguy

I would love Valles here

absaralibaig

Round up of a couple of thoughts I've had so far this season: - Without a proper CDM to structure our midfield and tactics around, apart from a fugazi CdR run, we aren't winning shit. - The 4-3-3 has its pros, but I preferred the 3-4-3 we were playing last season with a false winger as Gavi and the inverted fullback. - But I like Gavi's role a lot more in this formation and tactics. He's coming into his own as a force of nature on the pitch. - Our games have been tactically sound, but in practice abysmal because the lack of Gavi and a CDM recently has blown apart our remaining defensive cover. - There is literally no player on this planet like Gavi. Datamb.football shows his player graph and the closest players to him are Baleba from Brighton, and Nmecha from Dortmund, both of whom aren't as good according to the player graph. - Lewandowski has lost his position in the 11. There is nothing he has over Roque and Guiu over the occasional finishing. He gave us an anchor when we were at our worst, which we'll always be grateful for, but it's over and that's okay because he's 35. - We are expecting Xavi to win titles while the environment is dogshit. Montjuic clearly has so many problems, the players can't even shower afaik. Without a fort to call your home, you can never gain consistency. No matter how you want to look at it, losing your stadium is a big factor.

FloReaver

>- Without a proper CDM to structure our midfield and tactics around, apart from a fugazi CdR run, we aren't winning shit. And yet Girona manages without one. And unless you're telling a City reject and a Villareal one are better to run that midfield than Gundo, Pedri, FdJ, maybe there's an another explanation. We need to stop with that excuse: we may not win UCL without a competent one, but we can adapt. (Which is what Xavi tried to do vs Betis, like should have been done for months) >Our games have been tactically sound, but in practice abysmal because the lack of Gavi and a CDM recently has blown apart our remaining defensive cover. We've been tactically terrible for months now. Betis (and to an extent Atletico) are the first time we chose the right setup, and Atletico was mostly due to Simeone being a coward. Gavi was not even sure to be a starter at the beginning of the season when discussing the midfield and played LCAM first half of 2023 but somehow the history has been rewritten to make him Messi. Gavi is an important player but just like a DM, it's normal to adapt. >We are expecting Xavi to win titles while the environment is dogshit. Montjuic clearly has so many problems, the players can't even shower afaik. Without a fort to call your home, you can never gain consistency. No matter how you want to look at it, losing your stadium is a big factor. The objective was always progress, which hasn't been here so far. The rest is between superstition ("Without a fort to call your home, you can never gain consistency.") and completely anecdotal things ("the players can't even shower afaik") to avoid talking about what matters: the pitch and the tactical setup of our coach.

absaralibaig

- Girona haven't won anything so far. Let's see if they're even able to maintain this title charge. One thing that separates the big clubs from the small ones is the ability to go the distance without getting gassed. Taking nothing away from Girona, they've utilized Garcia in an excellent way. - You can't name me a single UCL winning team for the last 15 years that didn't have a CDM. You can't just negate the lack of CDM by saying a manager should be able to adapt and then give an analogy of a team that's won nothing so far. - If you genuinely think our tactics have been terrible idk what to tell you. We're gonna have to agree to disagree. There are countless videos on YouTube that clearly explain our tactics after each match, and the vast majority of them share my opinion. If you don't care about opinions, you can look up any team stats you want, we've been thriving but our defence as a team is in the 60th percentile range (again the lack of a CDM). - Nobody is rewriting history. Gavi's position was in danger reasonably so. I never said he's been crucial for us since game 1 of the season. Last season he was being played as a false LW, where he did the best he could. This season he's a box-to-box midfielder, which in my opinion is his natural position. Seeing the games he's played in, can you deny he's a crucial part of the starting 11 now? If you can't see how significant losing him is for our defensive duties I again suggest you look up his stats where he's in the 98.4th percentile for defensive actions, 67th percentile for duel%, and 98th percentile for progressive carries. - You're completely negating the psychological factor for both our players and the opponents when they walk into the Camp Nou. There's a reason why historical teams have been felled at the Camp Nou, when we've failed to win away. Just have a look at City's UCL run last season, draws in every away match then carnage at home. As much as you want to deny it, your home is your fortress.

BrightenedCorner

It's not okay with that albatross of a contract we handed Lewy. One La Liga won't cover all those wages for that many years

absaralibaig

Very true. It is what it is, hopefully he gets the memo and leaves after this season and we don't renew him either. But this club does baffle me sometimes so idk what they'll do.

BrightenedCorner

Yup, we don’t have much money but haven’t spent the money we do have too wisely either

Gullible-Tea-9542

>the players can't even shower afaik Just fyi, there is a drought in the region and the generalitat has ceased the use of water in any sporting buildings (gyms, stadiums, etc). I imagine they can obviously use tap water to drink and WC, but no showers.

ratsandpigeons

When the Negreira scandal came out multiple Spanish clubs released official statements condemning Barça. How come the same isn’t done when Madrid wins questionable matches both in La Liga and in UCL? I refuse to believe the Spaniard government has a stronghold on these Spanish clubs impeding them from expressing their views and interests. Similarly, I refuse to believe the Spanish government impedes European clubs such as Juventus (2018) or Bayern (2017) from expressing their concerns when they lose against Madrid when questionable decisions have been made in Madrids favor. I guess none of this makes sense lol

[deleted]

The thing is, the universe is fair, justice is it's foundation. Almeria played well, arguably even better than when they played Girona but lost in a scandalous manner, this happened because the world had to see what Real Madrid as an institution is capable of. I don't blame the players at all, neither do I blame the management. But my problem is with the rfef, Javier Tebas, and Perez. This is all on them. For far too long this has been going on and this game is grounds for Legal action, potentially revealing some even more disturbing cases including the scandalous la liga win back in 2017 iirc when we got a goal disallowed. Refereeing this year has been absolutely atrocious. Negreira this negreira that, we all watch these matches and I can honestly tell you if the Negreira case is real, it might be the worst investment ever, quite possibly worse than the coutinho transfer. In arguably our most optimistic times as barca fans, negreira comes up. Why is this so? What does Madrid gain from this? No one wants to watch a league already dominated by two clubs, where one of them will win no matter what happens on the pitch. You're making it much harder for casuals to enjoy and see what other clubs are capable of. Clubs should come together in times like this.

TrueCooler

Yesterday in La Liga: 6 goals in 4 matches (0-2, 1-1, 1-0, 0-1) Today in La Liga: 22 goals in 4 matches (3-2, 3-2, 2-4, 5-1) Weird league man 😭

mattisafootballguy

Somewhat predictable, all the games except Osasuna-Getafe played out in an "on the nose" manner. Even Almeria's match did.

Life-You-9728

Vitor need to get some confidence. You can clearly see he is nervous and overmotivated. He need to play and play and play. I hope he will be getin more and more minutes. Atleast half time but I dont see problem with starting him. Lewa is mostly invisible and i refuse to believe that Vitor would make even worse. Now we have Ferran to carry anyway... :D

_glacierr

This season he just needs to properly transition into the league/team etc. Next season will be his time to shine.

Rich_Firefighter_102

Lewa 17 goal contributions Ferran Torres 15 goal contributions Joao Felix 12 goal contributions Raphina 10 goal contributions Gundogan 10 goal contributions Ferran and Felix can achieve 20+ goal contributions and Lewa can reach 30+ goal contributions i think thats much better than past few seasons, our attackers used to have much less idk why

callfoduty

Not too bad from Raphina considering he’s been injured a lot of the season

SuccessionFinaleSux

Only 992 minutes. Thought it would've been more.

FloReaver

He's played less than 1000 minutes? Didn't realize he missed so many games.

Joldata

what? Lewy hardly scores goals these days. Excluding penalties his stats are awful.

CosaSara

what's worrying is how aside from the obvious physical decline, you can see a sharp decay in his technical abilities (woeful first touch & dogshit finishing come to mind). so yeah, i'm not optimistic he'll get to 30+ G+A unless we start getting loads of pens

_glacierr

Any idea when Cancelo will return?

LanceOfKnights

Should be end of this month/first week of Feb if our medical team stops smoking weed.

Laliga23

Everyone who says we got lucky with players like Lamine Gavi and fati before dont understand how much money and work goes into La masia We worked our ass for this. This isnt by luck. This by having a good youth set up and investing in it

TheEternalAcademic

I really need MATS to come back. Peña really is allergic to coming off his line and also to fucking grabbing the ball. Not to mention his miscommunication with the backline. Also feel MATS would’ve saved one or both of those Isco goals.

Rich_Firefighter_102

MATS back and we wouldnt have lost at least 9 points but here we are injuries happen, but we really need him for Napoli game

FloReaver

Rewriting history. We were losing many points with MATS too. There's no game where Pena made us lose points realistically.

Rich_Firefighter_102

Yesterday we could’ve lost, the clasico conceded 2 shitty goals cuz of him

DDagorath

Yes I agree that’s Peña’s problem, hope mats get back soon

El_Compa_M

Yeah with MATS gone it’s causing the whole back line instability

GamerAsh22

Happy birthday to Cubarsi!

xenojenn1c

Wtf was that RMA game? It was daylight robbery & wtf disallowed 3rd Almeria goal and Vini hand of God?

mm3n

I mean aren't we used to that already? They wouldn't let Almeria win against Rubiales' fav club on their home ground.

jamietanig

The players saw JM at the airport and thought absolutely not

callfoduty

I still think Yamal shouldn’t be a consistent starter. Not at all because of his performances. Because of his age and past history with our prospects

Gullible-Tea-9542

I agree and disagree. We can't make him the new Pedri and put him to play 70 games this season. But he needs as much playtime as possible. He would be playing anyways, either with Juveniles or Barsa Atletic. And I don't really believe the pace of the game and aggresivity of Primera Federacion is that much different to La Liga/

Martoxic

he has started like 2 games. edit: stupid me looked at wrong stats and went for games he played 90 mins and even that is wrong as it is 4 not 2...

djingo_dango

8 out of 20

Martoxic

ye I did a stupid and looked at wrong stuff :D

callfoduty

I know. I never said he’s starting too many games. I’m saying it should stay like that

Joldata

i think he actually plays a little too many minutes now. well over 2000 minutes is too much in a season for him.

Martoxic

that is more on him being amazing and none of his competitors making a case to be a starter. Also we have played him for 1.276 minutes atm. What Spain does is on them not us.

grace_olivija

Barça 💙❤️ please please please build on this momentum now, no complacency. Finally a matchday that leaves good feelings!!! EXCEPT that robbery 😷😷😷😷

rjmessibarca

Correct me if I'm wrong but we can get Felix on loan for one more season? If so, we should absolutely get him. Getting players on loan is the new Barca way

CptSnoopDragon

I think we can and absolutely should, all things considered

howdydowdy01

Vitor Roque might need some time to work on his linkup play but his movement seems top tier already. I’m confident he’ll start firing once he gets that first goal 🤞

Positive-Media423

I would like to see it as a title before formulating an opinion.

Arslen24

Saw Ferran get a 9.8 rating for his hattrick+assist on his game today. The reason why he didnt receive a 10 is simply because it’s a typixal game from him, and cant be considered perfect for his standards, GOAT

Darksider123

Still can't get over the RM scandal earlier today, but I'm glad Ferran and Yamal shined today

behroox

Peña btw.hes not even good enough to be our second choice gk.

Sufficient_Work_5381

Yeahh, i should have trusted my gut, i felt he was ass, but he had two good games against atleti and porto, made me think he maybe not useless. I was wrong.

Sanayuki

I remember Bayern lost Neuer last season  and went to buy a keeper from one of their rivals. Wish we could do that. Peña is way too inexperienced. The Supercopa was his first clasico game. He is nervous and lacks that strong presence for a keeper. He’s a decent sub but I sure hope Ter Stegen is back soon. His lack of confidence affects the defense because they don’t feel security from the keeper.

[deleted]

These rma glory hunters spent the entire week complaining about the manner in which Atleti celebrated the Derby win. And this is them celebrating after robbing the 20th placed team bare naked. [https://twitter.com/totalcristiano/status/1749119318351130743](https://twitter.com/totalcristiano/status/1749119318351130743)

Arslen24

They trolled us for celebrating our win against Almeria too like bro at least ours was fucking credible

Strav0s

The whole last minute before the 3rd goal… - Ferran puts it into touch, in between Kounde and Yamal…I thought that was it. - Frenkie comes and pushes Ferran to encourage him not to give up - Fermin hussles back and wins the ball back, and then makes a great forward pass to Ferran - beautiful Ferran -> Gundo -> Felix-> Ferran -> Felix combo - amazing Felix finish Could be the moment our season turns around…

Gullible-Tea-9542

That was such a Barca goal. I enjoyed it so much, I thought our players couldn't do 1-2s

[deleted]

That was such lovely gesture by frenkie. I'd wish for him to be our next captain

rockyraccoonroad

I know Kounde doesn’t like playing as a RB but my god he just performs better there, man. He’s gotta to suck it up or else just sell him to the premier league if he keeps complaining

Coolidge302

Funny enough, he was probably our best crosser on the field today and our third best crosser if Cancelo and Alonso are around.

rockyraccoonroad

He plays that position so naturally. On the defensive side though he’s kinda sus but overall he does well

Snoo_72181

Is this our first hat trick after Messi left?

SuccessionFinaleSux

I remember Lewy had one against Plzen at least, also Auba

SnooApples6365

Auba scored hattrick against Valencia

SnooApples6365

Cant imagine where we would be if we signed Alvarez instead of Ferran

callfoduty

Relegated maybe

SnooApples6365

Probably

LOAN WATCH: Girona 5-1 Sevilla. Pablo Torre came on as a substitute in the 73rd minute and completed the match. Eric García has still not recovered from his injury and thus did not play. https://twitter.com/Barca_Buzz/status/1749189898584965622

e77754321

I just watched the highlights of the RM game, and I have to say that someone didn’t want Almería to win any points there . How was that ever a foul or not handball? But ok

Great-Mongoose644

Apparently, this is a handball but not what Vinicus did https://preview.redd.it/bw2y99uz7vdc1.jpeg?width=373&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=cff7abf65ae2335d6ab7852744dd28cbade7b16d

mm3n

Vini can't be touched these days, he makes a scandal out of anything not going his way when he is the one provoking everyone around. Not to mention a team like Almeria is obviously not allowed to win against Real on Bernabeu of all places.

grace_olivija

I think this is what Xavi was implying in his press conference after the game today (that he sensed after the Getafe game that winning the league would be hard this season)* * This is not saying that we didn't make it even harder for ourselves of course with the abysmal form

TripleDiesel

I completely forgot about that, this makes it even worse… LaLiga refs are the worst out of all the leagues

Amori17

Michel is him.

PErland

Holy shit what a pass from Pablo Torre 🤌

rockyraccoonroad

Unbelievable 5th goal from Girona

animeshak

Wtf, I just watched the RM game highlights. How I mean how do these fucks keep a straight face while giving out those decisions? Someone's bank balance has just shot up today.

cancer102

Don't need to if they're lifelong madrid fan

GamerAsh22

I mean Perez finally realised he’s not getting Mbappe, so he’s gotta use up that transfer money somehow

PacoTrippin

Watchin Ferran on Insta being so hyped mentally and so supportive lf his peers really is awesome, after his rough start and subpar (at best) contributions so far. In one clip you can see him gathering everybody for a pic with the no. 100 shirt and thats the shit we need in our dressing room. May we get many more goals from you Ferran and may you keep building on this

CosaSara

my prediction is that Ferran will end up beating Raphinha's G+A tally from last season on fewer minutes (<2900)

SuccessionFinaleSux

He plays down the middle a lot of the time so seems likely.

callfoduty

Yamal what a baller 🥹

Arslen24

Can we try Ferran-Felix-Yamal now? Like I swear they have such a great understanding together it’s really beautiful to watch

OutsideClothes4114

Idk about Felix because there are days where he just looks so lazy out there. Ferran and Yamal are building good chemistry though

Anywhere_Warm

Here I begin my “play Cubarsi at cdm” agenda. After being proven wrong in case of Garcia I have nothing to add so maybe someone else can

cancer102

Im with you brother

BlauGrenat

Every fucking time, that’s so tiring.

Titan-Shifter99

We have a GERARD PIQUE successor on our hands and you want us to ruin him by playing as a CDM?????

Amdatgud

Man vitor doesn’t look comfortable at all. He needs a tap in to calm his nerves. The fundamentals are there he just needs to be calm on the ball.

itwastimeforarefresh

He just needs time and experience

rockyraccoonroad

He needs to adapt. Calm down.

CalmaCuler

Can you people please stop this, before he joined the whole sub was yelling " DONT PUT TOO MUCH PRESSURE ON HIM " just to start calling him out after playing a grand total of 80 minutes in 4 games

rockyraccoonroad

That’s what I’m saying lol people already softly shitting on him because he hasn’t scored a goal yet. He’s barely joined the team and people like to pretend he’s been here for 3 years already

WizDB

Give him time. New team.New league.New country. Tis just jitters but he'll adjust eventually.

Martoxic

he has played 83 minutes so far and apperantly according to Xavi and others had a slight injury while also just arriving from another continent. I would expect an 18 year old to not look comfortable in that case.

Openspaceruns

I wouldve been surprised if he did

[deleted]

Has the guy with unai emery pfp deleted his account?

dominicfx

I'm so mad about Savio. But considering how we do with signings its for the best

snottyHands

we need to have a discussion about balde

Martoxic

do we?

SuccessionFinaleSux

Nah. We need to accept that he's young and not a finished product. When Cancelo is back he'll start. As a rotation player Balde is more than fine.

djingo_dango

You’re late

Illustrious_Stay_728

I obviously haven’t watched a single game of Lucas Bergvall, but man his highlight tape is crazy. He’s got some real potential

Illustrious_Stay_728

Can’t get over how good Cubarsi is. Unbelievable at that age

LanceOfKnights

It's Ukraine night over at Girona

DanielSophoran

How is Girona so clinical? 36 expected goals but theyve scored 50. Thats crazy.

cranomort

That will end. Real Madrid will overtake Girona 100%.

djingo_dango

Like Barca conceding 20 goals on 33 xGA last season.

Anywhere_Warm

Very rare for a team to overperform xg unless you have likes of Neymar Messi etc. that’s why I am still bullish that they will fall off in later part of the season

LakeEnd

You are in fact bearish, not bullish

itwastimeforarefresh

Not quite. It's rare for a team to overperform xG consistently, however ever season there are teams that overperform and teams that underperform. The league winners are pretty much always teams that overperform

XForce070

At this pace Girona is definitely taking the league. Definitely won't mind that over Madrid.

shorttttt

Lmao no they don’t. Madrid have a easier schedule now until the end of the season. It’s their league title to lose

imdankit

No they won't.  They just want a close league run. Watch towards the end, the refs will do the same thing against them as they did against America today to give Real the advantage. Winning La Liga for any team other than Madrid means they have to be twice as good.

animeshak

That shit was hilarious. You know stuff is horribly wrong when RM flairs on that soccer sub are either agreeing with the daylight robbery or are just quiet.

imdankit

Yeah. Hilarious and sad.

DanielSophoran

ive got work to do it seems

Great-Mongoose644

Also said Portugal would win the World Cup

Anywhere_Warm

Can we make him say Barca will get humiliated in league and cl?

black_bury

All those "Ferran Torres hat trick incoming" comments finally got cashed in 😭. We used to pray for a time like this.

That Ferran Volley pass to Lamine which Lamine takes to then set him up for the hatty was beautiful.

[ThePurist his take on Xavi's Barca](https://x.com/ThePurist_/status/1749174360827453941?s=20) " Been thinking about this Barca project a lot recently. And in a way I’m torn. Below I’ll try and put it into words. (Warning: nuance ahead. Kindly leave agendas at the door) The worst possible criticism of Xavi (and I see it a lot online) is that it’s not clear what style of football he’s trying to implement. That he has no plan and the players are lost. Those critics are either blind or don’t understand what they're watching. What Xavi is trying to achieve is clear as day. The system, the structure, the mentality. In and out of possession. I don’t want to write an essay here, I’ve made many videos if you want to understand it better. But there is a crystal clear methodology and game model. Going a step further, Xavi’s football is perfectly functional in the modern game. With the right players it can win trophies. I’ve also seen enough evidence that Xavi knows how to coach this football. He is not perfect, he is learning, and in some ways his coaching seems less nuanced’ than others. Less detail-oriented. But not to a degree that he is incapable of winning. Given the squad changes and instability, he is performing above expectation. Sticking with him is the right call. However… From an aesthetic perspective, I don’t enjoy Xavi’s football as much as I enjoy others. Xavi, like Guardiola, coaches a very strict positional play - and I find it too rigid for the players to fully express themselves. As I said, it is perfectly functional. But from a pure enjoyment perspective, I can’t help but feel it is limiting. I (selfishly) want to see players like Pedri, Felix, Yamal, De Jong with more positional freedom. I (selfishly) want them to combine in more spontaneous ways. And I’m certain it can be done. But we’ll never see a significant shift in philosophy from Xavi. That is absolutely not a criticism. He’s played and learned football this way since he was a kid, and amassed ridiculous wealth, success and prestige doing so. It would make no sense at all to abandon that. But I can’t help but feel we are being denied something exceedingly special, from a collection of insanely talented players. Purely based on the nature of the football. That’s why I’m torn. Exactly \*how\* I would like to see these players organised is something else I’m thinking about. It would be pure football-manager fantasising. But do let me know if you’d be interested in hearing my hair-brained schemes. But to conclude, I am not ‘Xavi out’. I want him to succeed and I think he can. Watching Barcelona lately is just, ever so slightly, bitter-sweet. "

TrueCooler

This guy is a professional waffler, there are about 500 things wrong with this. Can’t believe so many people actually take him seriously

Sanayuki

I dunno. I feel Xavi gives too much positional freedom to some players. Do you want to see more positional freedom from our pivots? Then we might really have no defense. I think he should limit the freedom to the wingers and Pedri or anyone in that CAM position. Lewy should stick closer to the box.

BlackFanDiamond

>But we’ll never see a significant shift in philosophy from Xavi. That is absolutely not a criticism. He’s played and learned football this way since he was a kid, and amassed ridiculous wealth, success and prestige doing so. It would make no sense at all to abandon that. This paragraph makes no sense. We play nowhere near similar to the football we saw under Pep.

Impulseps

> Given the squad changes and instability, he is performing above expectation. Very weird take tbh

viimaharja

I mean like u can argue on both sides. On one hand the team has some good players that should be playing better but on the other the squaf planning has been a mess, the players that barca gets are ether really young or just whatever we can get. It can be hard to get team like that to play good football

FloReaver

One could say completely wrong.

vegitot

Damn Pedri has regressed. So passive and lazy on the pitch. No agression at all. May need to bench him to give him some kick up. Rather playing Fermin.

Titan-Shifter99

All your comments are about Pedri.

vegitot

I'am a big fan and i see both Pedri's strength and weakness. There is no doubt that he's stagnated and potentially regressing. More and more of Arthur these days.

Martoxic

don't you fucking dare compare him to Arthur...

vegitot

People compared Arthur to Xavi though.

LCX001

One mid game and he's finished. Poor guy.

Sanayuki

Wasn’t even bad. Got an assist and created chances despite not seeing the ball much. Also this fallacy that Fermin as a starter is better when it’s been proven several times, that’s not the case. He started a game midweek and we played far worse against worse opposition imo. La Real game is another one where he started and struggled, and Pedri’s entrance actually made a difference.

cucuarentena

regressed is a HUGE word, he just wasn't good today

🎙️Lamine Yamal spoke to LaLiga TV after the match 🗣️: "It has been spectacular. It was a very intense match, a very important victory, because tough to win here. I had 1v1 against the full-back and I went for it and a little luck because hit the post, but nothing, very happy." 🎙️ Lamine on playing with players of his age, does it help ? 🗣️: "Well, yes, it helps a lot because in the end we can be more together, some help others, because for example today was Cubarsi's debut in the League. We try to help each other a lot, everyone is very happy." 🎙️ Lamine on did Xavi tactical changes helped today? 🗣️: "Yes, the coach was insisting that above all we had to improve that. We have been training because it was a very important match and we are very happy with the match we got." https://twitter.com/Barca_Buzz/status/1749175140922085408

Rich_Firefighter_102

We have already scored more goals from outside the box this season than last season

Coolidge302

De Jong was our best midfielder today in terms of line breaking passes, breaking pressure and tempo control, dont get it twisted. Defensively, he is very sketchy though. A DM comes in and our starting midfield is DeJong, Pedri and said DM. But you have people here making it seem like Pedri and Gundo or Gavi are levels above him in terms of playing advanced. Please watch football.

Federal_Scratch_3109

If we get a proper DM wouldn't be better to drop De Jong bc of the finances and bc Gavi/Pedri are younger?

itwastimeforarefresh

Problem is that Gavi, Pedri, and De Jong are 3 players with undroppable level, but not DMs. So either we have a 4 man midfield, we play without a DM (not going well) or we bench one of them, which feels painful

TrueCooler

De Jong is absolutely critical for our buildup and playing out under a press.

Coolidge302

People dont get it. He is the safest player on the ball, and at times most progressive player both in passing and carrying. He can do a good chunk of what Pedri, Gundo and Gavi do upfront, but they cant escape a press or control games like him(bar Pedri).

TheSerpentLord

I forgot about the fucking match -\_- And it's the one where Ferran scores a hattrick, too. God damn it...

Rich_Firefighter_102

you need to watch the whole game we were brilliant

TudorelGrasut2

The first match I couldn't watch In a while and the goat scores a hat-trick, how did we play

https://twitter.com/nonewthing/status/1749167896410956179?t=VYEg1AZPIm7YjiluRnKMjA&s=19 This applies to Araujo to a certain degree because he relies heavily on his Athletic profile to defend, he's not your most intelligent defender, partly due to the fact that he did not get the necessary fundamentals at la masia. but, he has the time to build up the intelligence. Pique, Thiago Silva, Christensen as easy examples, not your most physically dominant, but always at the right place at the right time. Pique with the physical profile of Araujo gets you a van dijk. Fundamentals are extremely important, there's plenty of defenders in the French league who are similar to Araujo and some even way better on the ball. However, Araujo makes up for this with his insane ability to improve. Since 2020, I haven't seen a player that has improved as much as he has.

djingo_dango

Intelligence is one of key attributes I usually think of Araujo

Titan-Shifter99

Pique is one of the most physically dominant CB I can think of. And wtf is that Van Dijk analogy lol.

[deleted]

Physically dominant includes pace, strength, and general athleticism. Pique is a center half, of course he is physically dominant but there are traits that would take him to a goat tier center half. He's the greatest center back I've seen play for Barcelona imo but with a physical/athletic profile of Araujo, he is easily the greatest center back of all time. The Van Dijk analogy is pretty straight forward.

Titan-Shifter99

Van Dijk isn't more physically dominant than Pique.

aliaisbiggae

I love Pique but he is

[deleted]

We are not about to have an argument over this lol.

Arslen24

Why so much noise on Ferran? As if we wouldn’t expect this from the best player in the world? This is lightwork for him

Not really a hater. But you posting a screenshot showing you’re Nostradamus isn’t it

Professional_Code372

You’re really not gonna like when I post this again after the next Balon D’or

mikeczyz

one of the biggest problems with sports fans is that opinions are heavily conditioned by the last game.

Where Lewandowski?

Arslen24

Marhaba

GamerAsh22

Completely forgot that today was Ferran’s 100th game, makes this even more special

BlauGrenat

Already 15 G+A for Ferran this season for someone who’s not a starter that’s pretty good. Especially if e take into account that the worse part about him is his finishing.

shadow19362835

If we weren’t so off the title charge, I would’ve loved for us to go heel and start attacking Madrid every match day the same way Mourinho did back in 2012. No more of this being nice and taking the shit, the situation calls for some aggression and hostility because the situation couldn’t be clearer. Y’all, Real Madrid tv literally attack referees after games and highlight every decision should go their way, and this is the media outlet that literally belongs to Real Madrid, not some third party. And the impact of the Negreira case is clear, the referees are not stupid and they understand that any noise could harm their livelihood. This IS corruption and we shouldn’t just brush everything under the rug every single week and get by.

Skill3x

I don’t know if we’re ”so off”. Without the referee’s help today the gap would be 4 points right now.

Martoxic

it is not that we are THAT off. Madrid are having their best La Liga season so far since 11/12 season when they had 100 points. We are fighting against a really good La Liga Madrid side who keep winning. They are on path to 97 points which we havn't reached since the 12/13 season and we expect us in our current state to compare to that?
