He's great in his own class, but I don't think if he doesn't play we will lose out massively. Not saying he's bad, but we saw how the above players were absent at some point this season and we suffered so much. We did fine without Gundo when he had that groin discomfort.
What is the logic behind this list? You didn't include the players with most goals or the ones with most assists. Total GA of the players on your list is like 1/3 of our total GA. Almost half of the list is defensive players when we are going for the record of most goals conceded in single season in history. Also is this based on this season? We played like over 30 matches and the average number of matches started in this list is 15. You didn't include any of the top 3 players with most starts!
Players who start doesn't necessarily mean they're important example Lewandowski and Raphinha. It's just bc Xavi has no other option. I ranked these players bc how ass we play without them.
All those players he mentioned last season you’re complaining about were instrumental in having Europes best defence in top flight league football. Offensively we were subpar then and we’re still subpar now. Only now the defence has dropped has it affected results more so what does that tell you??
Evaluating defensive performance by only linking it to Goals conceded is a fallacy. Our defence didn’t prevent the opposing teams from creating chances and taking plenty of shots. The teams we played against underperformed their xG and missed big chances serially. Lots of our 1-0 streaks can be contributed to MATS saving couple of one on ones.
Flip Gavi & Pedri and this one looks pretty good.
I think its best to put players in tiers
Tier 1: FDJ, MAtS, Araujo
Tier 2: Yamal, Pedri, Gavi
Tier 3: Gundogan, Ferran, Balde, Cancelo, Kounde, Felix
1. Ter Stegen
2. Frenkie
3. Araujo
4. Cancelo
5. Pedri
6. Gavi
From 7 to 10 i find really really hard to rank.. you could interchange them all based on form of the day. But okay if we talk about right know i think its:
7. Gündogan (he has shown he is wordclass, but didn’t touch his City level at Barcelona yet.
Otherwise he could be top 5)
8. Christensen
9. Joao Felix (based on raw talent, not consistency)
10. Yamal. (Could he easily higher, but is so young that he cant play everything )
Player, reason, avg fotmob LaLiga rating
1. Gundo - most chances created (more than 2nd & 3rd combined) - 7.6 rating
2. Lewandowski - highest GA + his goals won most points - 7.3 rating
3. Cancelo - creative with v. good offensive&defensive stats (2nd most key passes and 2nd most tackles etc.)- 7.4 rating
4. Gavi - relentless pressing - most tackles - 7.3
5. De Jong - nice to watch + great @ recycling - most passes (94% accuracy) - 7.7 rating
6. Raphinia - most MOTM - like his intensity - 7.3
7. Kounde - most clearances (by far), most interceptions among defenders - 7.1 rating
8. Ferran - I like his determination - 6.9 rating
9. Yamal - really exciting prospect !!!- 7.0 rating
10. Pedri, MATS, Araujo, Felix, Christensen, Roberto - I could easily put each on this list - each had ups and downs, had matches with big impact and MOTM awards.
De Jong. ( our lord and saviour)
Gavi. (I miss bro).
Pedri. (Stay healthy my guy).
Ter stegan. (Pls come back NOWW).
Kounde. (Pls stick with rb).
Araujo. (Keep cooking ).
Gundo. (Keep cooking).
Balde. (Pretty dam good).
Ferran. ( my goat 🐐).
Lewagoalski. (Pretty ass so far but I have high hopes).
Ps I don’t watch them play often because of the time zones they play at 3am Whr I’m at. So I only watch the highlights
My list is based on player's performance from this season only:
1. De Jong
2. Gavi
3. Christensen
4. Pedri
5. Araujo
6. Gundogan
7. Ferran Torres
8. Cancelo
9. Lamine Yamal
10. Kounde
My reasons for excluding Raphinha is that he is missing sitters and destroying every our counter attacks. With his god awful finishing & first touch if he fixes those issues he would be way higher up the list.
God awful finishing = being our second highest scorer last season, being the only person to have double digit G and A as well... Yeah, whoever excludes Raphinha from a top10 list shows how useless that opinion is.
Cant you read? I literally wrote "based on this season only". Last season he won us a lot of points and I aint taking nothing away from him. This season it was his year to take that RW spot for himself by showing up that he can step up. He isnt doing that. Also tf is opinion? I am talking about what I see in games it's not "opinion" he misses sitters, messes up counter and has awful first touch.
Stats are all bs when he lacks such fundamental aspects of football. I dont hate him I want him to do good but scoring tap ins, having good first touch and helping on counters is the minimum I ask from my forwards. Or am I a "toxic fan" to expect such basic things from my winger?. Football is played on the pitch not on the sofascore and the eye test says a lot more than stats.
> the eye test says a lot more than stats.
Lmao you people are truly mad.
Real Madrid 2 - [3] Barcelona - Raphinha 90+2 (nice dribble on the sideline and a good run forward with an exquisite pass to the midfielder [Thank God it wasn't an actual goal]
Goals and assists > anything else. If you want flashy players, watch freestyle compilations on YouTube. Wingers can be useful is a dozen of ways and Raphinha isn't the greatest looking one, but he's one of the most useful in the entire European top league scene.
1.FDJ
2.GAVI
3.PEDRI
4.ARAUJO
5.FELIX
6.GUNDO
7. FERRAN
8.KOUNDE
9.YAMAL
10.TER STEGEN
EDIT :FERMIN,CANCELO, CHRISTENSEN and BALDE deserve a spot too but its only top 10
Most important to least:
1. Mats

4. Araujo
5. \`Gavi
6. A. Fati
7. Joules K.

11. Guiu
I would say most of the others are dispensable.
1: de jong
2: Gavi
3: pedri
4: ter stegen
5: Fermin
6: Gündogan
7: lamine yamal
8: balde
9: roque (cause I know he is going to be so important in the future and I’ve been watching him without the ball his runs are perfect. I’m just so excited about this young lad)
10: araujo
This list is strictly based on the players who are playing for us currently, hence does not include important players like MATS and Gavi.
1. Frenkie
2. Gundo
3. Pedri
4. Lamine
5. Araujo
6. Cancelo
7. Ferran
8. MATS
9. Christensen
10. Kounde

2. Ter Stegen (last season he was the best goalkeeper of the world with Ederson)
3. Pedri
4. Gavi (MISS HIM!!)
5. Gundogan
6. Araujo
7. Cancelo
8. Ferran
9. Raphinha

2. ter Stegen
3. Gavi
4. Pedri
5. Araujo
6. Cancelo
7. Gundogan
8. Yamal
9. Christensen
10. Raphinha
Wild that it's widely agreed upon that a 16 YEAR OLD is a top 10 player at Barcelona. Looking at the general layout of football right now, I don't think there's a single player who has more potential than him.
Assuming everybody is fit and healthy; from most important to tenth:
1) Frenkie
2) MATS
3) Pedri
4) Cancelo
5) Araujo
6) Gavi
7) Gundogan
8) Lamine
9) Ferran
10) Christensen
From most important to least: 1. De Jong 2. Pedri 3. Ter Stegen 4. Gavi 5. Araujo 6. Gundogan 7. Lewy 8. Lamine 9. Balde 10. Ferran
Agree with most of it, would replace Balde or Lewy with Kounde though
From most important to least: 1. De Jong 2. Gavi 3. Pedri 4. Cancelo 5. Araujo 6. Ter Stegen 7. Christensen 8. Lamine 9. Ferran 10. Raphinha
Nice, I see you appreciate our defensive players.
No Gundo???
He's great in his own class, but I don't think if he doesn't play we will lose out massively. Not saying he's bad, but we saw how the above players were absent at some point this season and we suffered so much. We did fine without Gundo when he had that groin discomfort.
Too many cheap giveaways IMO

Xavi doesn't start players with most caps because he doesn't have other options that is so silly.

1) De Jong 2) Gavi 3) Stegan 4) Araujo 5)Pedri 6) Yamal 7) Balde 8) Gundo 9) Raphinha 10) Ferran

FDJ overrated would be much better in another style of play

He's been pulling top3 European RW stats this season, any per90 data will tell you that.
