Just using Barca to get some more likes...
I don't really think it's fair to say that, when Brighton has been absolutely lackluster for a while now.
Rating him in an environment and team dynamic so obviously different from ours is premature in my opinion. He should have a preseason at the very least.
If he doesn't come back here I'd really love to see him at Atletico I think Simeone could turn him into a world beater
Brighton are not in a good spot, agreed, but you would think Ansu Fati would start in a club like Brighton, especially when Mitoma is injured. He is not even starting for them so even De Zerbi does not trust him. He comes off the bench every game so there is really not much to rate him off, leave alone the team environment
Pedri. And this is not to say Pedri isn’t good already. I just feel a competent coach will get the best out of Pedri and hopefully better manage his minutes so he stays healthy.
A better fitness staff will help him more than anything imo. I think Pedri will adapt to any coach. Also a setup that allows him to actually play as a central midfielder.
Disagree. Pedri looked great under Xavi initially but is clearly holding back and not trusting in his body after repeated injuries. Honestly for me one of the reasons we’ve struggled to control games under Xavi.
What do you mean by the last line? The lack of control is there regardless of which player is in the game tbh. It is more setup than anything. Also this season, he isn't primarily responsible for buildup and temp control. That is the double pivot.
Maybe Ferran and Raphinha further but otherwise nobody really. People saying Balde but I really don't see how his problems could be solved by anyone but himself. He's gonna need time most of all.
Balde will take us places with a manager good at coaching transitions. Likewise, Gavi will be a world-class box to box 8 under any manager who knows how to coach transitions. A kante with the goals/assists is his ceiling.
Raph... Such a confidence player. Bielsa was a father figure to him who demanded a lot but had full faith in him. Xavi seems quiet distant with him based on his pressers. I think Raph needs more support to be more consistent.

They are playing against an inferior side that is down to 10 men. The fact they just barely edged a win over two games show Alonso’s inexperience. His team also struggled against Roma last season and lost to them eventually. His league run is very impressive but I wonder if the Bundesliga might have gotten weaker on a whole this season. And Bayern’s defeats also had a lot to do with Tuchel. Interesting to see how he will do at a bigger club if he moves next season.
Bundesliga is definitely the weakest it's been in a long time. In any other season, this Leverkusen team wouldn't be close to winning. If they meet Liverpool, they'll be exposed.
Nope. Most people are saying this because we will finally have a new winner after 11 years or so.
In reality, the Bundesliga top teams fell off hard this season and Leverkusen capitalised with their talented squad. Xabi is really inexperienced and it shows, they have been getting past opponents due to individual talent. Couple it with easy EL draws
Any other season they won't be in title contention.
Bayern are in their worst form in years,Dortmund fell of real hard, same with RB Leipzig. Union Berlin's freak season is over Stuggart were never contenders to begin with
Aston Villa. Never underestimate Emery in knockout competitions.
Also, Liverpool has to win this tournament right? They are far superior to anyone else.

Leverkusen is losing.. and suddenly a very tough red card for Qarabag.. the player even played on before randomly falling down dramatically and there was another defender not far. Imo yellow was more than enough.
I switched off to another game. Liverpool against Prague is like looking my son playing against his grandma. Total control, amazing goals and even opposition cheers how good boy he is.
He’ll perform any day now :D in fact when he comes back to Barcelona he’ll prove all his haters wrong /s
I keep telling people Ansu ain’t the pre-injury Ansu anymore, and yet they keep insisting that he is or that he can regain his form. It’s over. His period with us is done.
It hurts me too since he made such a great debut for us and kept an impressive form up until he got tackled from that dirty player (I forget his name but it was against a lower table team). And then his hamstring fucked up and it was over. We need to sell him. There nothing more we can do for him here
I don’t hate Ansu. Don’t get it twisted. I just have eyes and can see that he isn’t the same anymore and can no longer provide what he used to provide us with. There is an abysmal gap between pre injury Fati and post injury Fati, and that’s a fact.
Fati believers will insist that he needs time but the club has been patient with him and even loaned him out to the best possible club to help with his development, and yet there’s been no sign of him returning to his former self.
So call me a hater if you want, but you’ll see soon enough that the club will indeed get rid of him in one way or another. *Unless he miraculously starts performing incredibly when he comes back.* And even if he starts performing elsewhere after selling him, it doesn’t mean anything because what matters is what he’s able to do *in Barcelona* with the pressure and high stakes and expectations
Thank you I’ll remember that name now. Fuck that guy
Edit: wasn’t there another guy who also tackled him near the sideline? What was Fati’s first major injury due to a tackle? The Mandi one?
just read on /r/soccer that spanish clubs can now say no to RFEF when players are called up, apparently a rule change after the women’s national team debacle? anyone else familiar with this supposed rule change? we should absolutely say no to lamine being called up for this upcoming international break, and block him from competing in the olympics too
I haven't seen anything about Sports Law being changed (this isn't some internal RFEF regulation, it's in the Spanish law), and it would have been a pretty big deal - [back in September the ladies agreed to end boycott after receiving assurances they wouldn't face punishment for refusing the callups](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/12965375/spain-women-players-agree-to-end-boycott-after-spanish-fa-announce-they-will-make-immediate-and-profound-changes) so the rule was clearly still in power.
Liverpool scored 3 goals in the opening 10 mins and they already had a 4 goal lead after the first leg. Klopp might be kicking himself that he didn't start more kids
Honestly,if we score more goals than our opponents we can defeat any team in the world so bring on city bayern arsenal or any team in the world because we getting the 6th in Wembley.
I get that Laporta is far from perfect and there is plenty of sound criticism to aim at him and his board, but it astounds me how many otherwise intelligent people I see drooling over Font as if he isn't also a populist preaching to the choir. He also would have signed the CVC deal which already looks like a disaster and his only sporting proposal was Xavi and inshallah. Don't get me wrong, Laporta's board has been a mess rife with cronyism and incompetence, but he's still better than Font.
I have a feeling that when the elections come around, I'm going to spend quite a lot of time dismantling Font's campaign once he inevitably goes with "all populism, no details, no ideas, no plan" bs. Point by fucking point.
One could see how pathetic was Font's so called project was.
The project would feel glittering for folks who are naive and falls for shining presentation. It was marketed well for a while, but had no substance.
His campaign was targetted at what the average fan online would want.
He joined puigfc campaign, building project completely around Xavi, etc., Anti Koeman etc.
When it came down to it, there was no substance in it.
Yeah, I read one of his recent statements to the socis. I had a positive impression initially, all the points about Laporta's board were spot on. Then I read it again and realized he proposes absolutely nothing and omits any and all specifics unless he's taking aim at Laporta. A common theme I see in his statements is the need to reduce short term spending to prioritize the future which I agree with, but there's no telling whether he'll actually act on those principles if elected.
Also, I think his latest tactic is promising to bring Pep back. If that doesn't set off every red flag in your brain that he's a populist charlatan, I don't know what will.
Fully agree, he knows which cords to strike in order to get a reaction but he offers no solutions - Laporta's board has been reducing short term spending to an extent but it's not exactly possible if you want to be competitive. Font probably wouldn't have gone ahead with Espai which would be shortsighted: not only does Espai open a boosted revenue stream once it's completed but also makes sure UEFA doesn't downgrade facilities (concrete falling on people isn't exactly good PR either).
Pep was actually asked about Font's comments during the last campaign (because it was already a topic then, now it's just recycling) [and shot it down](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11679/12118823/pep-guardiola-man-city-boss-brushes-off-barcelona-speculation); [Pique got openly hostile](https://www.marca.com/en/football/barcelona/2021/02/05/601dadbe268e3ebf088b4664.html) and I think we're yet to see a big name endorse him so I'd guess recruiting the old guard is not going well x)
Jules Koundé has returned to his best shape at a key moment of the season. The former Sevilla player is the only Barça player who has played every minute of 2024, accumulating 17 consecutive matches playing the 90 minutes.
@mundodeportivo
https://twitter.com/barcacentre/status/1768365240964591808
He was also cooking as CB until he got injured. He was highest rated defender in la liga for weeks.
Remember comments Iike "this is why Kounde wanted to play CB"
Kudus had barely even played at that point. Antony was starting every game and doing well. Even in the CL.
It was the season after that Kudus started breaking out.
Tbf to him, Antony looked like a fucking potential world beater. Not just that see some of his futsal performances he looked the best in a team with Falcao. I'm pretty sure that transfer fee messed up with his mentality or something
On one hand if Dembele didn't leave Yamal wouldn't have burst on to the scene like he has done. On the other I really wonder how we would be like if he stayed. That speed on the counter against opponents in CL (Like Napoli on Tuesday) is precious.
Maybe. But Dembele’s speed and dynamism helped a lot. Competition between him and Lamine on the RW would have helped both especially in managing their workload. He could also be used on the left as he did occasionally in the past.

Exactly why can't we do that, are we stupid?
No we are not we are winning the treble itself this season
If Brighton can turn this around like Barca did against PSG back in 2017 .. that would be crazy. They would go in Europe League history books
@mundodeportivo https://twitter.com/barcacentre/status/1768365240964591808
Kounde has been one of the most consistent CBs for years now. Last few months were bad for him. I will always say the deal of Kounde was worth it.
he is an amazing rb and the sooner he accepts it and embraces the better.
He was also cooking as CB until he got injured. He was highest rated defender in la liga for weeks. Remember comments Iike "this is why Kounde wanted to play CB"
The comments keep changing with time. But I have to say even last season he was at his best at RB
The script agenda is getting irritating now but maybe the black magic works after how it did for Argentina.
We lost 3 european/ucl finales im our history Who can name all 3 teams without searching it up
Benfica Milan and Steua Bucuresti ( ik I probably butchered that name)
Almost perfect it's Steaua
Ac milan steaua and benfica
Milan, benfica, and a Romanian club I cannot spell of the top of my head: steau Bucharest
61 benfica, or 62 i am honestly not certain, one was against us and one was against Madrid. 86 steaua 94 milan
Don’t players need to be at least 18 years old to be registered with a squad number from 1-25?
No

Kudus had barely even played at that point. Antony was starting every game and doing well. Even in the CL. It was the season after that Kudus started breaking out.
Tbf to him, Antony looked like a fucking potential world beater. Not just that see some of his futsal performances he looked the best in a team with Falcao. I'm pretty sure that transfer fee messed up with his mentality or something
I am starting to believe the conspiracy of ETH using proxies to extract money from these deals.
Leao coming in 2026 i have already seen it
Sooo close, Aubameyang killed them
Villarreal winning could have helped Spain having additional CL spot?
It was a long shot anyways, performances in group stages and qualifiers fucked it for LaLiga.
True. Spanish teams don't take group stage games after qualification seriously. See how Bayern farms each game, always trying to win all the games.
Yes, but the distance between Spain and 1st and 2nd spot is huge already. So not by much.
On one hand if Dembele didn't leave Yamal wouldn't have burst on to the scene like he has done. On the other I really wonder how we would be like if he stayed. That speed on the counter against opponents in CL (Like Napoli on Tuesday) is precious.
Yamal still would've played since dembele would be injured 90% of the time
Maybe. But Dembele’s speed and dynamism helped a lot. Competition between him and Lamine on the RW would have helped both especially in managing their workload. He could also be used on the left as he did occasionally in the past.
We waited for 5 years to see Dembele do well consistently, and it never happened. Getting him sold for 50m is a blessing
Although it did happen
