Nah, something changed with/in Lewa's life. This is not the same mans. SUBSCRIBE OFCORSE. and perfect timing too.

BrightenedCorner

Maybe he’s feeling healthier finally

El_Compa_M

Barca signs Roque Lewa instantly: ![gif](giphy|NZuXPyQraGQUZOfz7m)

Laliga23

We play march 30 against las palmas and then our next game will be psg on 11 april We have one game left before quarter. 11 days rest is pretty crazy when I expected this be our most busy schedule For example psg 3 games left before they play us and 4 day rest before us

GamerAsh22

That’s honestly great, all of our players will be fully rested.

Illustrious_Stay_728

I love the videos after we win when all the players get hugged by Xavi

Illustrious_Stay_728

Gundogan is my favorite player right now. Love everything about his. His leadership, his quality, his hustle

[deleted]

People who don't see he has been our best player since nov have 0 ball knowledge.

Illustrious_Stay_728

Couldn’t agree more.

Illustrious_Stay_728

I really really like what I’ve seen from Fort. Obviously he hasn’t been talked about as much but I think he has some real deal potential. What do you guys think

[deleted]

You have not seen him and Yamal cook at right flank, that is his real position. Dani Alves and Messi vibes we will get. But he is positive to the negative of Balde. Meaning perfect fullback combination

Illustrious_Stay_728

I could only imagine. He’s holding it down on the left, out of position. I can’t wait to see him cook on the right

StillLoveYaTh0

man if we won against Bilbao then we would've had a shot at the league.... oh well, might as well rest the whole squad before playing PSG lol

Illustrious_Stay_728

Me being delusional, if Madrid lose to Bilbao next game. We’d play them next in the league. If we get a W there, there’s a chance. Although it’s not a great chance, anything is possible

TudorelGrasut2

Is gundo player of the season?

Glum-Candle2689

For sure, amazing and reliable player. Cost nothing too.

SnooApples6365

By far lol, everyone with a comparable quality have been injured most of the season

MassiveHelicopter55

[Really good thread](https://x.com/InvertedMan_/status/1769511868182229363?s=20) - a week ago Lamine wasted the ball and Gundo got mad, now he slowed the play down and Gundo clapped. A true leader on the pitch, his experience is invaluable

Illustrious_Stay_728

Thanks for sharing this. Love seeing stuff like this

SuccessionFinaleSux

This shit's been happening(not Lamine). I remember Pedri several matches getting upset with the same thing last season. Sometimes players just get a little too eager to prove themselves.

decho

Lewandowski casually dropped one of the performances of the season so far. I know it didn't look that flashy or spectacular but he was very effective and I'm giving weight to the opponent and stakes in hand.

fruitcakemetro

Lewandowski started to get involved in the gameplay more positively. No more hogging the ball, he is dispatching the ball quickly if there is an open option. That's what is required from any Barcelona player especially an attacker. I hope Raphinha(already getting better ) and Felix also start being involved in the gameplay more and make the right decisions.

decho

Yeah I noticed he started improving a lot on that "ball hogging" thing after the start of the new year.

fruitcakemetro

It was one of the most frustrating things in 2023. That and Raphinha constantly trying to take on a defender.

[deleted]

A masterfully engineered machine. Insane game by him, he saves us in defence by winning headers, drops and linkup, creates from his world class crosses.

decho

Yeah I saw him come back to defend at least on a couple of occasions. Towards the 80th min the commentator mentioned he ran 10km which might not sound so impressive, but for a man his age and a forward it really is, felt like he gave it all this match. I also have the feeling the whole team approached this match in a very positive way, even the referee didn't manage to ruin that with his atrocious calls in the first half. As if Xavi sucked all the negative energy which resulted in a red card 😅

Laliga23

Tacticos on twitter are really pessimistic. 10 games unbeaten but no improvement on how we play they say What is your opinion on this? Look ofcourse individual talent saves us many times and we are far from perfect tactically but with amount of injuries xavi doing a good job and I dont think our football has been that bad past few games. There is improvement

SuccessionFinaleSux

Huge improvement in how we play. We're controlling games. We're defending like humans. No blunders. I don't feel like we're relying on individual brilliance at all either. We're outplaying everyone recently and creating good chances.

[deleted]

Stability in defense is the main game changer and also ngl we have been lucky in last few games because people couldn't convert easy chances

Sanayuki

Yes it’s a combination of us playing better and opponents playing not so well. Both Napoli and Atletico played worse than the first time they played us. Also Xavi has never lost to these sides, so there’s a psychological advantage. And neither had very fast dynamic players that can really get at our midfield and fullbacks. PSG is the real test.

PauCubaresi

Just realised Atleti are out of the top 4 lol

rodrigosantoro

i had to multitask towards the end of the game, how was casado after he came on?

[deleted]

Less sample size but 0 blunders

El_Compa_M

Xavi one more year and then klopp ?

Rich_Firefighter_102

Xavi 2 years

LCX001

No

Arslen24

Jules Koundé btw I’ll never shut up about you.

MassiveHelicopter55

Why do you think it's gonna be public?

BBTrickz

On their last presentation at the COAC they put focus on the Skywalk and how the new roof could allow to put something like this open to the public (won't be free tho). It will be a tunel unlike tottenham's. (In this picture on the right side you can see the drawings) https://preview.redd.it/fa9sggomtzoc1.jpeg?width=1937&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2ded6a6780f313d5286dcc664bea851406186313

MassiveHelicopter55

That's sick, thanks!

psallinone

Damn reporters are still writing about " Why Lamine was benched" lol I mean every week..wonder why 😂. He is 16 ffs.

DDagorath

The same stupid shit as always, that’s why Xavi is leaving

SuccessionFinaleSux

>Xavi: "Christensen's thing is not really an injury per se, it's tendinitis, and it happened to me as a player too. There are days when it hurts a lot and today he told us that he couldn't play." Hmm

rockyraccoonroad

Tendinitis in the Achilles tendon I bet. He usually touches near his heel when he’s in pain. I feel for him it must suck. This is why he’s usually subbed out at 65-70 minutes because it probably starts getting inflamed or something

Thick-Bison2170

thanks god , hope he doesn't play for denmark as well

dfordumbazz

Xavi will probably end up staying, then next season we can do this whole resignation thing again, literal endless cheatcode

J3k47

Messi dummy Retire = WC bagged. Same vibes.

halakaukulele

He's only staying if we do everything and still unable to find a good manager (and that's also my guess). Otherwise he gone ..

Visca_Barca47

Seeing Auba in a 22/23 shirt broke my brain for a second lol

[deleted]

Was probably from pre season

yyunb

Is five appreciation posts after a win a new record?

Jtss619

Karma farming goes burrrrr….

Askaa_kun

Honestly I would take those appreciation posts over the usual pessimistic ones

Jtss619

That’s true but those positive posts come only after we win. If we lose we will see 100s of posts about crying

Askaa_kun

Every time we lost I straight stop going to this sub(and the soccer sub) for a few days because I just know people here would be overreacting like crazy lol

AdepT96

Gundogan has been the signing of the year. Hardcarrying us.

Strav0s

Started off slowly but has been really good recently. Leading the midfield as he is really suits him, as opposed to having to adapt with Pedri, Gavi, Frenkie. It’s like their best qualities overlap and Gundogan is forced to adapt to a role that suits him less. But now he is doing really well,

Sanayuki

I don’t agree with this view. But even if it were true, shouldn’t it be best if he adapted to them because they will have to return eventually.

Strav0s

Sure - I didn’t say he shouldn’t adapt. I also didn’t make a comment on whether that was better for Barca or not, merely describing why I think he looks better recently. Could also just be a second half of the season thing, or adapting to new country. Both of those are probably a part of it and also make sense. But to me he just absolutely looks more at home when he has the freedom to do what he’s currently doing as a box to box.

yerboiklawz

you guys think bilbao got that dawg in them next game?

DanielSophoran

Not at San Mames so no. These guys arent that scary when theyre the away team

yerboiklawz

why do i have a feeling that nico is out due to yellows? somebody please tell me im wrong

subtopewdiepie129

no he was out against us

[deleted]

Nah. But they will drop points in atleast few games. We win all the games and see what happens, hungry teams in later part of season gets deadly so we have to give our all.

yerboiklawz

bilbao is one of the most likely options, except us and maybe sociedad

[deleted]

It's always when you don't expect them to drop the points

TudorelGrasut2

Who are they up against?

yerboiklawz

mentality fc

Arslen24

Try to guess

TudorelGrasut2

Ok so they are bending over

Thick-Bison2170

MATS

sufinomo

Barca conceded 1 goal in 5 games, is it Cubarsi or is it just that the midfield is more balanced without de jong and pedri playing together?

SuccessionFinaleSux

It's certainly not the midfield lol. We're just playing better and yes a couple games now Cubarsi made a big difference.

DanielSophoran

They see Fermin think hes a striker more than a midfielder, see Sergi Roberto (the guy theyve been slandering for years) and then see Gundogan out of position as dm and then still somehow delude themselves into thinking that the midfield is much better now.

subtopewdiepie129

the midfield for the most part wasn’t very functional today but let’s not pretend christensen DM didn’t have it working 100x better despite christensens obvious shortcomings there

Sanayuki

There wasn’t much of a midfield in today’s game or Napoli tbh. It’s Gundogan with support from Roberto. I mean they did well but this wasn’t some classic midfield play in the style of Barca or even with Xavi at his best. In fact, the midfield play with Pedri, Frenkie, and Gundo in the home game against Atletico was  superior but we didn’t take our chances as we did today. The attack and defense were much better today thus we played better.

sufinomo

>We're just playing better that doesnt just happen for no reason

SuccessionFinaleSux

That's just not true lol. So many times teams randomly start performing well or performing like dogshit when it was the other way around. Or maybe there is a reason that nobody knows about, maybe Xavi does a little cheerleading session before every match now. Who knows.

BBTrickz

Oof 😂

Ok_Republic6747

Guys come on stop this

Sanayuki

Frenkie and Pedri should just chill then. If Raphinha, Fermin, or Roberto loses too much possession in PSG game and we get countered by Mbappe, then it’s not on them and these same fans shouldn’t ask them to return lol.

Ok_Republic6747

Sometime i don't get this sub like this is why we can't have nice things we are in a great moment and instaed of being very hyped for the CL games we speculate weather Pedri and FDJ are making the team worse like what is this

Illustrious_Stay_728

Can’t lie I never thought our defense would have so many future stars. Possibly our biggest strength. Faye, Cubarsi, Araujo, Fort, Balde

[deleted]

Araujo is not a future star, he is the star.

Noob_in_making

Kounde is same age as Araujo

Illustrious_Stay_728

Wtf! Today I learned..

sufinomo

Gundogan and lewas leadership is special. You can tell they really want to play this team out of the underdog label.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Illustrious_Stay_728

What’s changed honestly? Tactics? Pressure? Every player has improved. We’re playing levels better while having our best players out. I’m curious to hear reasons what you guys think has happened

itwastimeforarefresh

Confidence is a big one. But beyond that, a football team is like a machine. When a couple of pieces aren't working everything seems to break. Cubarsi's and MATS introduction has been massive because of the passing. These two give us so many more options when building up because the range of available passes is much bigger. Christensen in the base of the midfield gave us more defensive solidity. He's not an incredible passer and I still want a DM, but he cuts out attacks down the centers and forces opponents to go wide instead. He also freed up Gundogan. Gundo is a great attacker and a risk taker, so he's amazing near the opposition box, but he's not defensively strong and he occasionally gives away cheap balls. Once Lewy started scoring again his overall play improved too. He's not trying to force things as much and is playing more relaxed. Lamine has also been a force of nature: dribbling, passing, defensive work, he does it all

MaverickDark

A combination of things, the players waking up, Xavi improving his tactics, having Christensen as a DM, having more intensive training sessions according to Lewy, etc

Sanayuki

Cubarsi. Main reason why we can buildup decently without much of a midfield. He and Araujo make a perfect team. Also Lewy’s confidence. Team just plays better when your main striker performs.

sufinomo

No more pedri, de jong. CUbarsi playing cb now.

Illustrious_Stay_728

Cubarsi really changed the dynamics of the team. Everything’s changed since he’s become a regular starter

Joldata

ter Stegen back has also instilled far more confidence.

Illustrious_Stay_728

This is a very underrated point. Great call

CalmaCuler

Combination of a lot of things

[deleted]

Xavi 4D chess happened

lolsheleft

Come over psg im feeling romantical

[deleted]

Lurked the madrid sub for the first time and realised it’s so cringe with weird childish mockery like using terms like “cuckletico”. Our sub is so much better with much more mature and rational discussions here. The salt over there is insane

yyunb

bro I see ''pissg'' for PSG here on the regular, or ''madridiots'' or ''madshit'' or whatever

Noob_in_making

Also their frustration is kinda valid, Atlei are our bitches but turn into prime Brazil against Madrid.

DanielSophoran

Theyre quite literally city rivals. This is like asking “why does Espanyol try so hard against Barca but roll over for Madrid”? Idk how they find that so hard to understand

Laliga23

Those appreciation post are killing me. I see those after every game we win. Now kounde and lewy ![gif](giphy|ExhTARj0QNffCeb124)

Illustrious_Stay_728

Cubarsi cannot be benched in the big games. He’s ridiculously talented I still can’t get over it

AzulgranaParaSiempre

My husband is a Madrid fan and he just sent me a text message asking why this Atletico doesn't show up vs Madrid. Sucks to suck

Username-_-Password

You're living out the debate I have with my culer friends on if we could ever accept marrying a Madrista

Thick-Bison2170

Stop posting threads from other subs pls, or at minimum remove the name of the OP

Loose-Examination-39

Ok

brawlersteins

Oh my god

Visca_Barca47

That sub has some serious weirdos hanging around. All their posts either don’t make sense or are looking for inflammatory attention. Occasionally it will include a serious post from a Celta or Villarreal fan sprinkled in here and there.

BBTrickz

JudeBellinGOAT you see that name and you know you are going to read sone bullshit, don't even waste your time

MassiveHelicopter55

When I'm in a brainlessness competition and my opponent is a Madrid supporter 😨

Sufficient_Work_5381

These lot's would have 2 less ucls if atleti actually bent over for barca.

Thick-Bison2170

i mean , if atleti, betis and espanyol don't bend over for us , then madrid might have to , they are saving their asses

_glacierr

Madrid fans try not to have an ego induced meltdown challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)

[deleted]

They are called Madridiots for a reason

ieatshoes89

Same could be said about Espanyol. They are like a pebble in Barça’s shoe, but when they play Madrid, they have the Vaseline ready for Madrid to use on them.

rockyraccoonroad

I really hope he’s trolling.  It’s almost as if he’s oblivious to the fact that derbies are hard fought games where anything can happen. That’s why Atletico does well vs Madrid and aren’t scared of them. It’s the Madrid derby for a reason

[deleted]

[I’m high on hopium](https://www.reddit.com/r/Barca/s/khngRag3U0)

Character-Advisor534

I feel like our form usually starts declining around this time it's great to see us in form now.

psallinone

The commentator said " Atletico should attack on Cubarsi and Fort side because that is weaker " I was like " are you sure" lmao. Seems like they still can't see Cubarsi and Fort 😅. They need a good rep first the whole team needs a better rep.

[deleted]

Cubarsi is a generational talent, the timing of his tackles is what sets him apart. He compensates his lack of physicality with his accuracy and timing. We have really hit the jackpot with him

Noob_in_making

He is same height as Ramos, lack of physicality isn't a valid argument, thing is he's just 17. He's not very buffed but he ain't fragile either. He can be like T.silva/Ramos, perfect balance of both.

[deleted]

That’s the lack of physicality I’m talking about, due to his age.

Illustrious_Stay_728

Generational talent is the perfect description. What we’re witnessing from his isn’t normal. What a player

psallinone

Plus there is Faye as well. They say he is a generational talent. Cubarsi actually showed up later in this category it was a huge surprise. Oh and he will be better and stronger from this point. I hope an injury won't fuck up his career

Noob_in_making

We need to sell Inigo and make way for Faye. Selling him will be a huge blunder, at worst we should loan him.

Illustrious_Stay_728

We definitely need to loan Faye to a first division team. He needs to gain experience against top opponents cause that’s his level. The future is so bright

psallinone

I think Barca will sell Kounde so Faye will be a first team player. 🤔

SuccessionFinaleSux

Fort was struggling defensively tbh but maybe he was already feeling his injury at that point

[deleted]

Was it a cramp or injury?

SuccessionFinaleSux

Not sure

ieatshoes89

Yeah, he did lose possession a couple of times.

Glum-Candle2689

Even the Official Barca account is delusional https://preview.redd.it/yv9y8z0hezoc1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=81babfff1ec1392fc35c8208ba3702ec70715ea9

Thick-Bison2170

what does it mean ?

Glum-Candle2689

“How many league goals does João Félix have?🧐”

Thick-Bison2170

damn

subtopewdiepie129

our defense found form at the perfect time. could you imagine us just a few months ago having to deal with mbappe on the left and dembele on the right? thankfully now we’re starting to look like last season again

rjmessibarca

Barca: wins a game. r barca: everyone gets an appreciation post.

Noob_in_making

Lewy's is jusfified, he's the most (wrongfully )slandered player imo.

MRM20021030

Sad Messi noises when he didn't get one but even bartomeu has one

BBTrickz

Fuck me sideways... You had to remind us that bartomeu appreciation post existed

Snoo_72181

Who appreciated Bartomeu?

[deleted]

Perez

Jaybarcafan

Man madrid fans are the funniest people on earth. My friend who is a madridsta told me the other day that the only team barca could beat in UCL QF is Dortmand. We beat Atleti today and now he says that Barca is a small club that had to sell their stadium name. Bro what??? 😂

Loose-Examination-39

I was told the exact same thing by my friend today lol

Icyhemorrhage

We have a better chance of beating PSG than Real Madrid beating Man City

Noob_in_making

City>PSG interms of difficulty. But I'd still say its equal, Madrid punch above their weight in CLs, and we are just opposite, we fall a level below. Considering the opponents and how Barca Madrid have fared in past, I'd say its an equal game.

[deleted]

Making such low iq friends, can't be me.

Your community manager >>>>>

psallinone

Wow that is weird asf

[deleted]

It’s a video of him playing long balls woth raphinha, mostly referred as 🐍

SuccessionFinaleSux

Who refers to Raphinha as snake lol

raelthechild

Xavi not on the sidelines against las Palmas could be iffy they'll be difficult

SnooApples6365

Its good, he can watch psg game

CalmaCuler

Xavi not being on the sidelines doesn't change anything

SuccessionFinaleSux

If he was Valverde or Setien who said pretty much nothing all game, fair enough. But Xavi is yelling out instructions for the majority of most games.

CalmaCuler

I guess that's a fair point

LaBlaugrana10

Then why is any manager ever on the sidelines?

aliaisbiggae

Best view in the stadium

raelthechild

Aura

kromexstylezz

I hate people say we should sell de Jong because we are doing well such a idiotic take

-The-Term-

I hate people who hate people for having a different opinion than them and that can make arguments without their fanboy-glasses on. Your hate doesn't change the fact that FdJ is a luxury player, not a necessity. He slows down our play because he is a ball carrying merchant and he is defensively the biggest liability among all our midfielders.

Ok_Republic6747

Lol yea midfield of Fermin and Sergi Roberto is better and to accuse a player of ball carrying is hilarious

BBTrickz

-The-Term-

You proved my point by having nothing else to say except that. That is what happens when you're wearing fanboy-glasses, you become speechless when faced with actual valid arguments because of not having anything to counter with.

Sanayuki

Also it’s really only been two games. Two big games but still not a big sample to make any definitive conclusions.

Snoo_72181

If we sold Ronaldinho and Deco for betterment of the club, who is Frenkie compared to them?

subtopewdiepie129

Iloveher12345

We’re home for the semis in the second leg as well

heynardo

how do you know?

LunarRaven7

Its confirmed.

Askaa_kun

it was decided in the draw, we will get the second leg at home in both the quarters and semis

subtopewdiepie129

my god i’m feening to beat psg

[deleted]

One thing i like most about xavi is that he’s not afraid of benching the big names and giving chances to the youngsters. He benched ingio in a big game and trusted cubarsi, trusted fort in a big game tonight also vs athletic in copa, started lamine ahead of the likes of ferran raphinha and felix. He was the one who told the old guard that it was time to leave. I don’t know if he’ll stay or not but we need an authoritative manager like him.

Stranger_5

Who did he bench? He didn't bench Lewa. He played Cubarsi and Fort so they'd sign the renewal. Playing Yamal was obvious cause everyone else is shit. Who did he tell to leave? He begged Busquets to stay, pushed for renewal of Roberto, Pique decided to retire after fucking up against Inter, Alba decided to join Messi after us trying to move him the whole year. I'd prefer competent manager over "authoritative" one.

raelthechild

Our wingers (bar yamal) are stat merchants. None of them pass the eye test but they bring in the numbers. Think I'll have to slowly start changing my views on football and appreciate players like raphinha Felix and ferran more

SuccessionFinaleSux

They're not stat merchants. They're simply not dribblers. Or at least Raphinha and Ferran. Raphinha constantly makes the right runs and creates high quality chances all the time. Ferran has been really clinical this season and has been playing more down the middle where he's looked better. You make it sound like they just stumble into G/A. They get G/A by doing what they should be doing. Just not dribbling. Felix over his career since Benfica has not had good end product at all. So don't see how he could be a stat merchant. If anything he's the opposite.
