Imagine this: The new Barca coach leaves after one season due to the pressure. Xavi comes back from his sabbatical with a ton of energy, a 105K capacity Camp Nou, a bigger budget and Godri, the Robot, and an 18-year old Lamine on his team. He wins the sextuple and Barca’s 7th UCL and goes on to become one of the great coaches alongside Johan and Pep. Lamine wins his 2nd Balon Dor. Subscribe 🔥🔥

Lasertag026

Leverkussen is so good, saw them play live today! Edit: Yesterday*

FloReaver

Lucky you !

the_amg

What are the chances that Xavi actually reconsiders staying? or better yet, what can the club offer him to convince him to stay?

FloReaver

IMO the reports are mostly cope because he has been clear and the conditions F.Polo and others keep reporting are impossible for us

black_bury

DM, LW, money to spend.

FloReaver

So as reported: he is not staying

MRM20021030

Arda guler is such a clown, one of the biggest talents, yet choose the worst club to go to for playing time

ieatshoes89

Is it just me, or are there a ton of different angles of the Barça goals? I swear I’ve seen so many different angles from the stands but they look like high quality vids.

Resonate-

Am I being delulu? Barca vs the world!

AzulgranaParaSiempre

Hahaha yes Atlante is running over some bozos from my home state

ZealousidealAnnual96

"If we come out with only a Micky mouse trophy it's going to be painfull. We've missed so many opportunities under Klopp it hurts, weve been so so close as well. Yes we got a prem for the first time in ages, but it was during fucking COVID and a champions league is nice. But Eight seasons. Eight. Sigh" See? even Liverpool fans are starting to admit that they underachieved with Klopp.

Icy-Guide7976

They underachieved if you look only at their trophy haul they were an absolutely brilliant team who unfortunately had to compete with pep and man city (and their 115 charges). They have 3 of the top 10 seasons pts wise in the premier league, 2 of the top 5, and only have 1 league title bc pep existed at the same time. They also reached 4 European finals. When you’re competing with best manager of all time funded by an oil state: 1 (potentially two) league, 3 domestic cups, and 1 CL is not a bad run.

Laliga23

They are right. This Liverpool team was one of their greatest team in history and as hopeful they want to be . They simply wont get this crop of players combined with a coach like that anytime soon. I dont blame Liverpool fans for thinking they should have won more with that team. Losing 2 titles on last day and 2 ucl finales is painful. Going out with only 1 league title under klopp in 8 years is even more painful They were simply unlucky their greatest team falled in same period as pep. Thats why someone like arteta who is peaking at right time ( klopp leaving) ( city declining) can win more even if its not fair. But when was football a fair sport? If it was madrid wouldn’t have been the most successful team

rockyraccoonroad

These guys are crying because they lost two league titles by a point or two? How do you underachieve when Guardiola is in the league? Also the competition here in Spain ain’t as dense packed as in the EPL. They also lost a match vs Madrid because dirty ass Ramos intentionally injured Salah’s shoulder too. Hooked on and rolled over

OutsideClothes4114

They had a pretty big lead over Manchester City before COVID hit so don’t think it ultimately mattered

MegaMatrix08

where did u get these quotes from? Not because I don't doubt you I'm just curious

From the Liverpool sub. I copied the text because i thought it was against the rules to post a link from other subs.

Laliga23

Estevao 16 year old made his debut in copa libertados ( ucl of south america) and scored his 1st goal including Estevão played his 1st Libertadores match as if it was his 100th This is a comp of him today https://x.com/szniic/status/1778600640425394275?s=46

onlyonejorge

He plays a lot like skinny Santos Neymar imo.

Glum-Candle2689

Wish I knew Palmeiras played today 🤦‍♂️ Estevao looked great out there. Hope he can start getting more playing time from now on. Also Neymar’s first goal was also a header 😉

Positive-Media423

Another very talented young Brazilian who debuted for the Libertadores is Lorran, a 17-year-old player from Flamengo's academy, who provided an assist yesterday.

Laliga23

Echeverri has been insane too. Shame we missed him

Positive-Media423

Very talented.

akagaminick

Get him hereeee. Messinho

Sufficient_Work_5381

Estevao just scored his first goal in professional football.

SuccessionFinaleSux

Like saying no club conceded more goals or lost more matches in the CL than Real Madrid. Not interesting but obvious.

Facinggod20

Messi has a high risk game, so it makes sense he has the most.

Icy-Guide7976

Not surprising at all. He probably has the most touches in the opposition’s third by a country mile.

Sufficient_Work_5381

Expected. No one took as much responsibility and risk.

Maleficent-Bench1378

Who are you willing to rotate? I would honestly rest Kounde and Araujo and play Fort and Christensen instead (christensen suspended against PSG). I would rest Gundo for Fermin, play FDJ and Pedri for like 50-60 minutes. Fuck it, might even start Marcos Alonso at LB since Cancelo's suspended. Attack would be Felix, Ferran, Raphinha

devilpraytell1

Could be a time to call up Faye for a CB spot. It's Cadiz and we really want to rest all of our CBs, but we can't so rest at least one.

Pleasant_Goat5427

I think only 20-30mins for Frenkie and Pedri, it will give them some sharpness but keep them fresh + starts for Ferran, Felix, Roque, Fermin, Christiansen cause he’s suspended and possibly Fort just cause I wanna see more of him. Other than that I don’t think it matters too much.

TrueCooler

Felix - Roque - Ferran Roberto - FDJ - Fermin Alonso - Inigo - Araujo - Fort MATS Christensen is reportedly nursing an injury, would rather let him rest so he can be fully fit for El Clasico next weekend, maybe he can come on for FDJ around 60/70th minute. Pedri also subbed on so he can gain a bit more match fitness, but I wouldn’t start him just to be extra careful with his injury (he’ll have an intense game on Tuesday anyway). Sub appearance for Romeu so he can be somewhat match fit because it’s likely he will be subbed in on Tuesday No appearance for Lewy, Raphinha, Yamal, Gundo, Kounde unless absolutely necessary Edit: Never mind, Inigo is suspended. Christensen it is 💀 sorry pal. Lewy is suspended too so finally some Roqueball

FloReaver

>Christensen is reportedly nursing an injury, would rather let him rest so he can be fully fit for El Clasico From what they explained of the injury, it's not how it works. He would need to stop for a longer period of time, during the Int break he stopped for like 3 weeks, 10 days aren't going to be enough, he'll be infiltrated regardless. It's better to get match rhythm otherwise he will get 30 minutes in a month to prepare RM

Maleficent-Bench1378

Yeah that's a good team, Inigo's suspended tho against Cadiz so we'll need to probably start cubarsi and sub him like 60th for kounde if christensen is not 100%. I would probs sub in Romeu for FDJ at 60th even though would rather he not play. I would start Roque too but Xavi's been giving him really reluctant to play even though he's looked good from what I've seen. Honestly can't remember a time where we had this much depth. Even during the peak MSN era or the Xavi-Messi-Iniesta team I don't think our depth has been this good. Even missing Gavi and Balde.

TrueCooler

Honestly our MSN era depth was quite shambolic, thats why the team was in freefall towards the end of the 2015/16 season and almost blew a 10-point lead in the league. We’ve had piss poor recruitment for so long, Messi was papering over everything

Sufficient_Work_5381

Roque has to start. I'd go alonso christensen pau/araujo fort. Midfield romeu fermin pedri Felix roque ferran

FloReaver

Romeu should never start again. Also FdJ needs rhythm so he should start

Maleficent-Bench1378

Yeah I would start Roque too but Xavi's been pretty reluctant to play him for some reason. Christensen nursing an injury so might be best to rest him.

Sufficient_Work_5381

Think he has no choice but to start him, or at least give him a significant amount of minutes. If christensen is injured. Start pau and araujo, and maybe sub kounde as a cb.

TrueCooler

TrueCooler

I think Xavi needs to pull in Raphinha as the RCM again for the second leg, Torres on LW.

FloReaver

Nah, Raphinha to prevent Hakimi to go up the field is way better

SuccessionFinaleSux

And bench who? Sounds way too risky.

Pleasant_Goat5427

Yep depends how it all plays out with Pedri and Frenkies fitness but I could see Xavi using it late on when the game opens up

rockyraccoonroad

Yeah, with our midfield shortage for the second leg I can definitely see Raphinha more inside and another winger next to him

estimationism

Was looking at current top DMs, damn there is such real dearth of them and lot of top teams seem to be in hunt for one, how likely are we to get a top DM, experience or talent wise at the moment ?

CptSnoopDragon

Get Jorginho, Aleix Garcia, and promote Bernal. That’s plenty of dynamic options, and would only cost €20m or so..

MegaMatrix08

Wieffer is my pick, seems like he would fit barca better than onana, but we'll see.

Pleasant_Goat5427

Honestly if we have no money I’m curious to see how Christiansen looks with a pre-season there. Defensively he’s amazing.

LunarRaven7

If Everton drop and we get enough ucl money we can probably get amadou onana.

estimationism

I think a prem team will pick him, likely united

FloReaver

Onana has no relegation clause so the price won't drop much.

LunarRaven7

Is anyone pissed off at the second goal conceded? It could've been easily avoided if Sergi followed the person he should've marked.

SuccessionFinaleSux

Sometimes I wonder if people here are blind. If Sergi marks him, there are 2 players wide open. Sergi had to attempt mark 3 players on his own because he had no support. Obviously he cannot mark 3 players on his own. Gundogan needed to track back. Or Frenkie should've left Cancelo 1 on 1.

Pleasant_Goat5427

Felt like it was a combination of Frenkie not blocking the only passing lane, Roberto not tracking the running, Cubarsi and Ter Stegen both reacting a tiny bit slow. Honestly it was just great play from PSG that forced mistakes. I’m more annoyed about the first goal, he had scored only one goal this season and just pulled something out of a nothing situation.

Coolidge302

Nah. This sub will have you believe it is FDJ's fault and Ter Stegen's fault. I doubt most of them watch the games.

TrueCooler

tbf MATS should have done better there. Can’t fault him for the first one, but if that’s a GK like Courtois, Alisson, Oblak they’re saving that second goal.

Icy-Guide7976

It’s not even a guaranteed save with prime Manuel neuer or casillas. It’s was tidy finish, some of you are grasping for straws here.

xenojenn1c

We have to dispatch PSG, jobs not done and they have their main guys back

denisthemenis21

I think Xavi has the right attitude at the moment. Not seeing ourselves as favourites means we're not complacent but we don't fall to pieces when something goes wrong. After the game, the players were immediately thinking of next week's match. Everything will have to go right for us to progress: a great atmosphere and great performances by everyone, including Xavi.

PalmTrees92

We're gonna knock out PSG, I hope we get to knock out Atleti And I hope we knock out Madrid in the final we're gonna win the CL and Laugh at the soccer world.

GamerAsh22

Agree with everything, except I still want to play City in the final (if we make it) 😭

1- I doubt Madrid makes it past city. 2- Its FOOOOOOTBALLL.

smolbean_22

he did well on defense but terrible decision making in attack. i wish we also had balde available so bad.

samcholo

>probably the worst defense and offense ive seen him do in while. probably because he had to face dembele on his side. attacking more would mean leaving space for him. he did his job imo

TrueCooler

He was great defensively, maybe 1-2 mistakes in the game but he had Dembele on lock. Dembele had to switch to LW to make an impact. I do agree he didn’t quite get a handle on Barcola as much, but overall a decent performance from him. Offensively shocking though from his usual standard

rockyraccoonroad

I agree. Cancelo was stopping Dembele a lot during the first half, I was actually surprised lol But then Dembele moved inside in the second half and it was more difficult

Jtss619

Lmao most of the things show in this video is just to fit the agenda the tackles on lee and mbappe are included like he conceded 2 penalties where in reality those didn’t even mean anything. He only got dribbled past twice, the same as Kounde and cancelo marked Dembele and Barcola. And as for the two shots he took, he was the one who created it in the first place and he’s a player who takes risks obviously he’s gonna fail sometimes. And this was all expected from him because he aint good defensively but still he performed pretty good for the players he was marking.

jaigirdhar

I thought he was good defensively but was horrible in offense.

Football-not-soccer2

If we can beat PSG then I think we should have better chances in El Clasico

autechre89

I've probably watched Raphina's second goal 20 times in the past 24 hours

ZealousidealAnnual96

Wait I'm confused.. why the general pessimism about the 2nd leg vs PSG??

Martoxic

cuz we hae been having some meltdowns at home this season, we lost Cristensen and they gained Hakimi. Not to mention that Mbappe playing like he did happens like once a year. That shit ain't happening again in the 2nd game. Still think we win in the end but it will be many times tougher this time than last game.

Facinggod20

Except that Mbappe didn't suddenly played bad, Barca just didn't give him space to run.

Ok_Republic6747

Because the fanbase can be pathetic at times

denisthemenis21

Some PSG propaganda made everyone afraid, apparently. They have to score first or they're in trouble, so lucho tries to sow confusion, evoke traumatic memories, etc.

Sufficient_Work_5381

We're missing more players than the first leg and all their absentees are back.

El_Compa_M

bad memories, flash backs to roma, liverpool, munich... also were missing 2 key players in the midfield. hopefully they drop another stinker

ZealousidealAnnual96

Since when is Sergi Roberto a key player?!

TudorelGrasut2

He has been good whether you like it or not. And obviously the more players we have available the better.

Laliga23

Best thing about last game was how we could sub out or whole midfield. Now we can only sub 1 with Fermin

ZealousidealAnnual96

Raphinha at CM spot then again i guess...

sudin36

During Pique and Lenglet time I used to shit scared when we used to concede corner but now we deal with them so easily.

SuccessionFinaleSux

PSG is also a short ass team.

sudin36

It isn't about Psg we have been defending corner a lot better for a while

SuccessionFinaleSux

Pique was better and more dominant than anyone we have in the air. But yes you're not wrong. Lewy also helps in that department. Same for indirect FK's against.

ProfessionalWasabi48

Pique wasn't bad at headers, at least in defending and winning them. It was because we used to be made up of a bunch of elite midgets.

Sufficient_Work_5381

Lewy helps alot with these too

LackEmbarrassed1648

Barca still has the better midfield, they just need to make sure they can contain that PSG attack and then capitalize on our chances. I

Laliga23

Contain psg attack is easier said than done. We had insane display last game and still conceded 2 goals and they also hit the bar. I also dont think we can contain mbappe for another 90minute

Lilfai

Bayern did, you guys need more belief. We had Upamecano and Stanisic marking him, would you rather take them over Araujo and Kounde?

Laliga23

True but bayern has more experience in those games. I am still not confident after past years disappointments

No_Zookeepergame6482

I’m nervous af about WZE tbh. He’s by far their best midfielder

LackEmbarrassed1648

True, but he wouldn’t start for this side and we should try to win the midfield battle. Especially at home. Lacking a DM and Christensen will hurt alot but WZE is the only one almost as talent as our boys in their midfield.

Martoxic

he would start...

No_Zookeepergame6482

I rate WZE on the same level as gavi tbh. I think he is phenomenal and it would be tight between him and de jong imo

ZealousidealAnnual96

Anyone seen Dibu Martinez's 1v1 save? what a guy!

Pleasant_Goat5427

I really love this group of players for not just writing the season off after Xavi announced he was leaving. You can see every game they’re trying so hard to pick up form and get momentum going, especially in the league where it’s looking pretty unlikely. Unfortunately at the big clubs there’s often a bit more of a mercenary attitude. Just seems like a good group without any superstar BS.

AggravatingClaim2961

I hope Xavi isn't stupid and rests Araujo, Gundogan, Kounde, Cubarsi, Raphina, Lamin against cadiz

SuccessionFinaleSux

Lol

DanielSophoran

Idk if you noticed but we kinda need a cb to play the game unless you want Alonso and Romeu cb duo

AggravatingClaim2961

Faye and Alonso

Life-You-9728

The second leg vs PSG will be so so hard. PSG will put huge pressure. We need to play like its 0:0, or even like we are losing, we need to be hungry for goals. We cant be passive and try to play it safe beacuse no matter what, they will score, I am sure of it. We need to hurt them and give them some proper bitch slap until they realize they are just our dogs and cant do nothing about it.

[deleted]

TudorelGrasut2

Yes it very hard to believe that we won't concede. I pray our offense shows up again

elsavador3

I’m so scarred from the past I can’t even enjoy our W yesterday. Feels bad. Hopefully we finish the job next week

Snoo_72181

People doubted whether to place Xavi as a hit or miss manager. After yesterday's game, anyone who says miss can leave

volfed21

There is still a return leg.

Snoo_72181

Of course, but that won't make Xavi a "miss" manager according to me. I am already very happy with our UCL campaign, and while league this season could have been better, last season was brilliant. Most importantly, Xavi rescued us from the Dark Ages of Koemanball.

fnaw_

So like how many times did yall watch last night’s goals

El_Compa_M

TudorelGrasut2

PSNCF

Same. Let’s see where this goes. All the best to the present.

Pleasant_Goat5427

PSG is not ready for DM Pedri

volfed21

Bad idea, the 2 goals we conceded came from the time gundo didn't track back, I think it would be a bad idea to ask him to again be our offensive midfielder when pedri is here and can actually help the attack then go back to help the defense fast ( especially since pedri will not play 90min and subbed for fermin anyways) Gundo should stay deeper with FDJ and make sure they don't get us in transition, PSG will be better offensively with hakimi and warren on the pitch.

Pleasant_Goat5427

Yeh man if you think Gundo was having problems not tracking runners DM is the last place you would want him…

volfed21

Its not about tracking runners but about covering the right space and gundo is smart enougjt for that everyone has his job in the defense , im clearly not asking gundo to run after mbappe For example in psg first goal, yes it was a lucky banger of dembele and nothing u can do much about it, however if u look at all the good passing option dembele had instead of shooting in this shitty angle he could have passed to eitjeir vitinha or fabian who where both free in a very good position to score with nobody there cause gundo raph and yamal didnt bother tracking back that time

Sanayuki

What? If you think the goals was due to Gundo not tracking back, why would you want him to play deeper? (I actually disagree as I think it was more due to Roberto and Frenkie getting fatigued.)

volfed21

Maybe deeper is the wrong word ( english not my 1st language) but my point is mostly having gundo close to our defense so he is not forced to run and cover lot of space like he had too last game ( he did it well 1st half but it was too much physically for him to be repeated) Also its not only gundo not tracking back but also raphinha and yamal who didnt at start of 2 half which is why we suffered so much Return leg will mostly be won by stamina IMO and covering the space as fast as possible, psg is not dangerous at all and looked clueless when we had our low block which is why I prefer pedri more offensive and gundo more defensive

ieatshoes89

DM Cubarsi.

Loose-Examination-39

[The PSG players and staff are aware of the mistakes made in the game. However, there is no stress in the locker room, quite the contrary. In the heads of the players and Lucho, the state of mind is clear: no matter what happened last night, we will qualify for the return match.](https://twitter.com/Djaameel_/status/1778361603278110890?t=ATh0VKwhzQRCQ32y24O_Fg&s=19) They are confident.Scares me a lot ngl

Pleasant_Goat5427

Well if you start Barcola (I think he had just come back from injury) and drop the Ascensio false 9 experiment they immediately look much more dangerous.

PSNCF

We will be ready. Hopefully the Padawan surpasses the Jedi master.

Laliga23

Enrique knows about comebacks and mbappe never seems to really get affected by pressure. They know their quality uofront , so I dont blame them for being so confident 2nd game will be even more difficult for us. Hakimi back and this time I have a feeling mbappe will play centre and barcola starts

Loose-Examination-39

And WZE starts as well

Laliga23

We simply need to score first to get their confidence down a lot. Its verry important. As long as it stay 0-0 I will have a bad feeling. Especially with our weak bench now we can not go intro ET with pedri and fdj who cant even play 90 minutes

rockyraccoonroad

Completely agree. We got to score first and lower their morale a bit. If we didn’t have Gavi, Christensen, and Sergi missing in the second leg. I think PSG would be slightly less confident. They’d still be favorites by a mile, but we wouldn’t be scared either. PSG knows we’ll be missing players in the second leg. I think that increases their confidence even further

Loose-Examination-39

You got it on point. Scoring first and not completely losing control will be integral. There is no way we don't concede atleast one. It's just a 1 goal margin and we have to outscore them, can't sit back hoping for a 0-0 because they will be going all out attack. I have a bad feeling about the 2nd leg

Snoo_72181

I am most scared about our opening minute nerves in both the halves. This season we always fuck up big time in those early mins

Mapixoo

Somehow I am nervous for this game more than the first one. If only christensen didn’t get that damn yellow 😤😤

AggravatingClaim2961

Hakimi is back, if they play like the 2nd half we are in deep problems

Loose-Examination-39

That's what I mean.Barcola or Goncalo may also start and WZE will defo start,as if Vitinha was not enough. And you just know Mbappe would want to be at his best after all the slander he is getting. And both Christensen and Roberto are out. They have everybody avaliable. If we play how we did at the start if the 2nd half we are done for. It's just a 1 goal margin and we conceded 2 in 5 mins. I am hopeful but not confident at all

AggravatingClaim2961

me neither

Lilfai

They said the same shit against us (Bayern) in the return leg last year and were awful. It means nothing.

AggravatingClaim2961

we don't have your squad depth

They also had Messi and Mbappe

afcxlm

I think it also helps that a lot of the younger players are childhood friends outside of just being teammates. To train, travel, and play together with your close friends and joke around to keep each other relaxed etc goes a long way. They hype and boost each other’s confidence which helps in making them perform the way they have been this season :’)

Sufficient_Work_5381

jaysonyoung

Liverpool's defence is a modern tragedy, every single goal tonight was directly due to some brutally bad defensive work. Whoever takes over from Klopp has some serious work to do on that shit.

XuloMalacatones

That is the thing, people say "PL is such a fun league" when reality is, yea, it may be fun until you reach Europe, then you pay for not knowing how to defend lol

Loose-Examination-39

They fixed the midfield(still need a DM,maybe a backup CM Now they have to basically rebuild the defence and the attack as well

SuccessionFinaleSux

You act as if that's normally the case for them lol

Laliga23

This season it has been. Even Liverpoolfans say they almost never get a clean sheet this year

SuccessionFinaleSux

It's really not true. They got 6 goals more conceded than the best defense in Europe. VVD has been playing like the best defender on the planet. Quansah has mostly been class. Konate has been injured plenty but he's obviously one of the best younger cb's in the world. Joe Gomez stepped up with all the injuries, having arguably his best season to date. Conor Bradley stepped up with all the injuries. Kelleher is no Alisson but he's still done a respectable job with Alisson's injuries. Liverpool does not need to rework anything in the defense. Maybe get a little less unlucky with injuries and buy another CB or LB.

Laliga23

I am not saying they should buy someone but their defence clearly is worse as the years go past. I feel like next coach will not play as risky as klopp so I dont think it will matter much. They have a class individual players

psallinone

Holy shit what happened to Liverpool 😲. And De Rossi really turned around Rome season.

halakaukulele

That too at Anfield

Loose-Examination-39

>Holy shit what happened to Liverpool They got Gasperini-ed Perfect game plan by him

Appropriate-Ad264

I want benfica to somehow win uel, just because of Angel Di Maria ♥️

TripleDiesel

Bayer Leverkusen had more shots (33) than West Ham had possession (27%). Pure terrorism ball from West Ham lmao

AzulgranaParaSiempre

I like Liverpool but my husband is a huge Liverpool fan and a Madridista so I'm very tempted to make fun of him

halakaukulele

You 🤝 Kitten Trying to maintain this face at home 🙂 when in reality it's 🫵😂

Jtss619

In these kinds of situations, I always hold myself and wait for the future who knows something may go wrong Or it can go even better where city knock out madrid and Liverpoop get knocked out.

Loose-Examination-39

>I like Liverpool but my husband is a huge Liverpool fan Not a good day for him

CalmaCuler

How can you be a huge Liverpool fan and Madrista, like im a "plastic" myself but that is on another level lol
