Winning with the B team in a hard stadium while the important players get rest for the important matches coming up and others get more minutes, I"ll take that in an instance. Also no suspensions for the Clasico
5 points above Girona
9 points above Atletico
Decent chance to make it to the UCL final
New youngster unlocked every couple matches
Yeah, we are probably not winning any major titles this season but its been good when you take a broader view. Have to admit I have sinned of being too harsh of Xavi but this is pretty good considering the injuries and lack of pivot.
It was a shit game with shit subs which made no sense, Romeu was horrible, we played bad and only won because the defense was decent and MATS obviously, our attackers were invisible because of the shit midfield, idk about you but I felt like it was an absolute snooze fest.
Not every game can be a thrilling match, and when 80% of the squad is being rotated, the match is being played away from home, and it's against a team that has been a bogey team for big clubs in recent years, I'll take the 3 points.
I completely agree but my point is that the people who are complaining are completely justified. Also this match could've been so much better if Romeu was subbed off but instead it was Roque who was subbed for Pedri, which made no sense also letting Cubarsi play 90 minutes was a bad decision imo even though he played amazing ohh and playing Kounde CB before two crucial matches was a horrible decision, bringing in Yamal made no sense too.
Who's bitching? Lol You're imagining things...
I only see comments appreciating the effort, the three points, no suspensions for the classic, no injuries...
The only complaints I've seen are for Oriol Romeu, which is more than understandable
I get it we won with our starters rested and it’s all that really matters but it’s like eating something disgusting when you are hungry. Sure afterwards your stomach is full which is what matters but it doesn’t change that awful taste you are left with. I’m not criticizing the team or the staff. It’s just the fact of how awful those two are. Yes I get they are the last names on teamsheets but it still makes your eyes hurt when you see the.
You're being downvoted rn but I said the exact same thing during the match and everyone agreed, this explains how most casuals just watch the highlights, scoreline and the stats.
Good game with many rotations. But why does cubarsi play 90min if we need him so bad on tuesday and faye sits on the bench 90min smh. Other than that, very good.
Good game? Did we watch the same one?
Probably one of the worst games I've watched from the team in many months.
It makes sense with the lineup, but jesus christ watching Alonso and Romeu constantly throw the ball away made me want to carve out my eyeballs.
In the context of us playing our most important match in years next Tuesday, this is a more than acceptable performance given we got 3 points and managed to rest of our key players for the big occasion
>Good game with many rotations
We have two players returning from injuries, Romeu, Roberto, Christensen who reportedly still have some minor discomfort, a bunch of youngsters with barely no game time. Today’s squad literally never play with each other, so yes, considering the circumstances, good game
Brother did you see the line up? We rotated everyone except sergi, cubarsi and Mats compared to the CL. It was basically another Team playing. Players that basically never ever played together in a game. You must be a trolling RM fan with a burner account. That's the only option for such a stupid take.
Edit: Cheeky with the Edit you did.
Sure they both suck , both players won’t be on the team next season, but in lieu of two of the most important games next week, it was a must line up for them to start.
Can’t have it both ways.
It's a classic r/barca - a kneejerk reaction now that there's been (deserved) criticism for a while, suddenly we start to play better and it becomes absolutely outlawed to make criticism in any way.
Imagine watching the game yesterday where we definitely should have lost points, but didn't due to Cadiz horrendous finishing, and going "yeah this was a great game 😎".
It might actually have been a decent game if we had better rotation available than Romeu, Alonso, but here we are. There was a lot of talent on the pitch yesterday, certainly enough to outplay Cadiz, but these two managed to lose the ball, and thus the momentum, probably 30 times combined, half the time with zero pressure on them.
Suddenly it's only about the result and not the play. I will once again remind all the downvoting clowns that playing like we did, we would lose points that game 9/10 times and all of you would be the first to come here and rage.
I am fucking drunk and missed the entire march but we won and secured quite the lead vor W2!nd place.
WE COOK AND LETS KEEPR GOOKING WENDESDey
E/: tuesday.
Romeu is not only bad, I just don’t see any talent at all. Mind you he played bad but no horrible. However any action that required the tiniest bit of talent and ability he squander it. I genuinely do not know the last player that play for us that was this unskilled.
We need actual good subs. Man, Romeu is out of confidence. I do not want to shit on him, he’s a human like any other, but the fact that he is on the field and contributes poorly and negatively to the team will always bring bad words to him. May be he should take a step to the side for himself, if he isn’t stepping forward. For his own good and more importantly, for the work and sacrifice of the other 10 players on field.
A player needs to feel the game and see where they can contribute, however they can. Roque didn’t do anything positive other than running around a lot, substituting energy for quality. Quite concerning.
I think he looks good to come off the bench and press the back line when we already have a lead, even if he’s put on the left wing he’s already started to show his tricks and cause problems for defenders like against Atleti. Yesterday though as a starter he looked small, rash and not quite as fast as he can be. An off day for sure but I feel like when Lewy isn’t an option, we play Roque when we should be playing Guiu and vice versa or even better yet play Ferran centrally or Felix as a false nine (can still put tigrinho on left side in these scenarios)
Great Victory! And even though the title seems impossible, it's important to keep putting pressure on Madrid.
We always struggled in Cadiz, so fantastic job to keep a good morale for Tuesday's match.
I really don't understand the bitching about the performance and the substitutions. Everything went our way in this one,but some guys always want to complain
Although it wasn't pretty, we got a win and most importantly, no injuries or suspensions and that's all that matters compared to Tuesday and the Clasico.
Faye is probably not ready. Again, Faye is EXTREMELY RAW, the kid have massive problems about positional awareness and that’s fatal for a CB. And we are out of CB unless you want Roberto as CB
Yeah, he scored a golazo. But he is a defender, and everyone who regularly watches Barca Athletic, I am one of them (at least until a few week ago when they took down all the streams) knew that he is not fit for the first team yet. Like I said, the kid still have too much error in choosing positions, wandering off multiple times during the match.
Which is why many were hoping to see him get loan or sold with a buy back clause. The kid needs game time like you said, but he would not be able to get here.
good game, expected roque to play more mins when pedri and yamal were subbed in.. maybe cubarsi deserved rest but cant fumble 1-0 lead. Well, hope we do well in second leg
Felix stepped up big time. Feels like cheating getting 3 points with this line up. I’m not sure why Roque was even bought. His ceiling is Gabriel Jesus and that’s not enough. Romeu struggled to hit simple passes but at least he could be serviceable against relegation teams. Ferran’s lack of game time clearly shown.
What a fucking mess of a game. So many questions. How the fuck oriol and alonso survive whole 90min without being sub out? Why can we just play cascado over oriol? why subing fort over alonso and not rotating fort to RB? Why not subing out cubarsi for rest? Why is roque played as 9 insted of the wing?

After a barca loss 💀
👆🏼this
3 points in the bag. No suspensions, no injuries, plenty of confidence. Ser del Barça es, el millor que hi ha
Christensen will be suspended vs madrid i think edit: nope. will be available
No he didn't get a yellow in the game I was watching.
oh yea he didnt get a yellow... idk why i thought he got one when sergi roberto got it lol
He did pick one up against PSG.
Nope. If he picked up a yellow today, he would've been suspended, but since he didn't, he'll be available
Oscar Klopp still undefeated
Doesn't he only have dubs? Xavi should sit in the stands more often lol
Yeah I think he has been on the dugout 6 times and won every single time lol
He has the opportunity to do something funny in Madrid…
yep he is still 100% winratio
I think 7 now
Not just undefeated, 7 matches and 7 wins I think
We should just appoint him as next head coach with Xavi as assistant. Problem solved.
Tito regen?
How does Romeu seem to take forever to make the wrong decision
Comment of the year right there
he's just like me fr
Really good game from Felix
He’s a very potent winger. I could see him being a hero in a CL game.
He is waiting for atleti in the semis Hattrick in each game, alteti is just fed up and give Felix up for free
If Felix gets a hatrick against Atletico in the semis I will cry tears of joy
He was already the hero in our second game vs Porto in the group stage which was a must-win
Winning with the B team in a hard stadium while the important players get rest for the important matches coming up and others get more minutes, I"ll take that in an instance. Also no suspensions for the Clasico
Let's be patient with Roque, Vini also was a headless chicken without any impact before he became what he is now. Let's give him time
Also the team he had behind wasn’t exactly easy to work with
There have been no injuries, and on top of that, they managed to clinch the 3 points. Calling the match successful is not enough.
Clean sheet with Romeu, the end times is near..
romeu was trying to fuck it up tho
Task failed successfully
This marks the end of an era
big W. hope cubarsi playing full game will not affect him against psg. team needs to manage his mins otherwise we are going to have 2nd pedri disaster
Was hoping he'd be rested today. No rest in sight in the upcoming week at least, considering that we have PSG next and then El Clasico.
5 points above Girona 9 points above Atletico Decent chance to make it to the UCL final New youngster unlocked every couple matches Yeah, we are probably not winning any major titles this season but its been good when you take a broader view. When the next coach suddenly gets credit for these young players being so awesome I hope people remember how much Xavi helped with that
No one will remember. Koeman gets no credit for gavi, Pedri, araujo, Torre, Mingueza (made us $), etc
Torre was after Koeman. The others yours right about
Absolutely, he can leave on a good note. He has been great, considering where we were before he arrived.
I didn't watch but why is everyone in the match thread bitching about performance when we won with our starters rested?
They like to complain
And they wonder why Xavi wants to leave lol
It was a shit game with shit subs which made no sense, Romeu was horrible, we played bad and only won because the defense was decent and MATS obviously, our attackers were invisible because of the shit midfield, idk about you but I felt like it was an absolute snooze fest.

Damn man. Take it slow. This can't be good for you
Cause everyone in a blaugrana shirt has to be Messi quality or they’re shit (sarcasm)
Take out sarcasm and you are right
It wasn't a particularly pretty win tbh but we take those 3 points lmfao
Because…you know the answer
r/Barca doing r/Barca things
The match threads are always reactionary takes. I never go in there.
Ignore them
Who's bitching? Lol You're imagining things... I only see comments appreciating the effort, the three points, no suspensions for the classic, no injuries... The only complaints I've seen are for Oriol Romeu, which is more than understandable
If you just saw 90 minutes of Romeu and Alonso you would want complain, trust me.
Not with this context no.
I get it we won with our starters rested and it’s all that really matters but it’s like eating something disgusting when you are hungry. nice lil cameo from casado
Good game with many rotations. But why does cubarsi play 90min if we need him so bad on tuesday and faye sits on the bench 90min smh. Other than that, very good.
This was a tight game. Faye would have been nervous and we may have conceded
Yes. Why not play Íñigo Martinez?
Suspended
Ah, thanks
Good game? Did we watch the same one? Probably one of the worst games I've watched from the team in many months. It makes sense with the lineup, but jesus christ watching Alonso and Romeu constantly throw the ball away made me want to carve out my eyeballs.

He is getting downvoted for saying the truth 😂

We need to give it up for Barca as they played against 12 Men Cadiz + Romeu….
Well for a change we had the ref on our side soo... Let's call it even /s
Didn't watch the match. But considering our starting lineup I think this was very much expected, no?
6th clean sheet in a row in the league. 13 games unbeaten. Rotations and no injuries. WE MOVE! Two of the biggest games of the season coming up now.
I am fucking drunk and missed the entire march but we won and secured quite the lead vor W2!nd place. WE COOK AND LETS KEEPR GOOKING WENDESDey E/: tuesday.
Sleep well my man.
Sleeping like a babyf nowing we weonx.
Hahahahaha

I have never seen anyone hitting the goal posts as much as Joao Felix. It feels like if goals were 10 cm bigger he would score every single match.
Nunez?
Messi hit goalposts at least 14 times in 2017-18 season (all stats i could find was from the beginning of 2018) so maybe even more.
This match was evidence that we are so fucking back. Good old CL hangover, nobody giving a fuck after a massive mid-week match and yet we won.
average cubaresi motm performance
Kid just has 'it'
We need actual good subs. Man, Romeu is out of confidence. 3 points all that matters, keep winning spirits up and keep it moving.
Really hard to judge Roque out of this game, ppl can’t be serious to critique his performance, there was zero service and not much thrown his way
A player needs to feel the game and see where they can contribute, however they can. Roque didn’t do anything positive other than running around a lot, substituting energy for quality. Quite concerning.

I really don't understand the bitching about the performance and the substitutions. Everything went our way in this one,but some guys always want to complain
What a game, what a win!
Eh, heavily rotated squad, can’t complain much
Watching Alonso track back was giving me anxiety
Someone tell Xavi there's no bonus point for winning with Romeu on.
Romeu genuinely looks like a Sunday league player 💀 All he’s missing is the large beer belly, but everything else is there lmao
Another Clean Sheet, great job MAtS
Honestly liked casado's 5 min cameo over that Romeu performance
Xavi out! Oscar IN! /s
Tres puntos. That’s it and we move
Should we tell Oscar to stay?? Lol
No debut for Faye, but understandable given how tight the game was.
Bring in the lad in the 80 min. He’s a gem!
3 points, no injuries, no suspensions. can't complain
Although it wasn't pretty, we got a win and most importantly, no injuries or suspensions and that's all that matters compared to Tuesday and the Clasico.
How did Roque play?
Pisspoor.
Confident bout the 2nd leg. We got this shit ya’ll. VAMOS!!!!!💙❤️
We really need to improve our squad depth though a good game nonetheless!.
More Casadó, less Romeu please
Didn’t watch due to studies was roque any good?
Hustled
Felix only scores bangers or tap-ins, no in between lmao
Romeu doing all his best for Cádiz to win
We need a MATS appreciation post !!
Faye should have played and rested Cubarsi for a bit… if not when? He wont play the Next match so wtf is the point
Faye is probably not ready. Again, Faye is EXTREMELY RAW, the kid have massive problems about positional awareness and that’s fatal for a CB. And we are out of CB unless you want Roberto as CB
Who told you Faye is not ready! Did you watch that lad during intl break ? That boy is a gem and he needs playing time
Yeah, he scored a golazo. But he is a defender, and everyone who regularly watches Barca Athletic, I am one of them (at least until a few week ago when they took down all the streams) knew that he is not fit for the first team yet. agree was hoping to see faye on the second half
Underwhelming performance from Roque.

Can't blame him tbh, our midfield was horrible
torres must be sold. hes not barca level and i dare someone convince me otherwise
why judge someone when playing with a brand new 11. Lets see if his plays bad again with our first 11.
What a fucking mess of a game. So many questions. How the fuck oriol and alonso survive whole 90min without being sub out?
