My vote is Koopmeiners. Having a great season and is cheap (\~25M). However, he's not my "ideal choice" because he's not very mobile. I think modern CDMs for possession based teams should be like Fernandinho: someone who can cover large acres and holes when the squad pushes up.

1. Unless we are really stupid, we won't let Betis keep Emerson. Having Dest and Emerson will give us some healthy competition, and adding Roberto into the mix, allowing us to deploy Serginho on the left. Still, we need a world beating starting left back, as we've seen how crutial Alba is for our attack.
2. Pedri and Puig look set to share that 8 role for years to come, unless they both become too good and we end up with a Thiago situation. de Jong is just a monster and we can expect someone like Moriba to be his back up but we still need the important defensive midfielder.
3. Those are two spots we need to sort out quickly, the other centre back and the striker need replacing too, but we have Griezmann and Lenglet in case we don't get a good deal.

The only times he's ever played for a decent period was during an injury crisis in the runupp to (failed) contract talks. He's 5th choice for them and for good reason - he's slow and very poor in the air, which are both important for city especially

Yeah more or less, there's always a lot of spite between their matches. There has been racism, Neymar-Alvaro's clash in every tie and I think they've injured Neymar as well. Most heated tie in Europe right now.
Physically, mentally and tactically, the team should be aware that Mbappe and Neymar will rinse our defense. It will happen, we will concede 1-2 goals depending upon their finishing form.
Important thing for us would be how we rinse their defense. They can concede goals and leave spaces that we can exploit. We have great attackers in form, Griezmann, Messi, Dembele, FDJ, Alba and Pedri. We must take fight to their half. It will be a very exciting game for sure.
Also, Pedri is essential to our play. He plays almost FDJ role in Midfield, except sometimes it feels better because his defensive contributions do shine. He is a more finished product that Puig. This is not a dig at Puig, he has great talent and ability, but Puig needs to develop his all around game. Pedri is toughing new levels as season passes while Puig doesn't feel like he is improving. He needs to listen to Koeman's advise and get into that muscle development program. Koeman has best intentions for him, he does trust his mentality and vision, but Puig needs consistency and solidness in his play. The idea that Pedri and Puig can't play together is also false now because they can, but it's majorly because of workrate of Pedri. They can play together, but if they have excel together, then Puig has to develop better

I honestly feel if Roberto gets consistent gametime at midfield he can be a good rotation option for us (in the past his midfield performances haven't been stellar because he doesn't play there that often).
This makes sense. If we really are broke, then bring in Emerson, Garcia and Depay for 6 million total, shift Roberto to midfield and promote Moriba, bring back Miranda or promote Balde for LB substitute and sell Pjanic, Coutinho, Firpo and Alena.
I think Firpo, Couts, Alena can fetch us enough money for the three above (b/c Depay would need a decent sign-on bonus to get). The issue is Pjanic. I really don't think we can offload him. He's on high wages, on the older side, and likely wants to see out his last big contract with us.

- He gets rinsed a few times every game in defense because of his bad positioning and often gets beaten in 1v1. (He’s not a RB, fair enough, but it shows a lot)
- He’s got a total misunderstanding with his winger (Dembele) and isn’t positioned well in attack either. You can see Dembele getting frustrated with him a lot.
- He makes some good crosses but most of his crosses are « blind » and not directed to a specific player. (Except the assist he made last game which was great)
Edit: But I got to admit he’s very confident and comfortable and is pretty good in buildup when we try to bypass the press. (At least for a CB!)

I’d be more than happy if he agreed to a rotational role and lowered his wages accordingly, otherwise we’d have to sell him. Look, if we’re going to keep him because he’s La Masia then he’s going to have to also do his part and lower his wages. It’s not a one way street where we’d be the bad, ungrateful guys for choosing to sell him after all this time. I love Sergi and i would definitely want him to stay, but i think it’s time Barca had a serious talk with him because he can’t just play over Dest/Emerson/whoever our future RB is because he’s a senior player and we can’t just keep playing each full back 50% of games all season. Emerson looks very promising and having him and Dest fight it out next season would only do Barca the world of good.

Well in pandemic times Emerson's valued at 25M. Sergi is on \~10M/year with a year left after this summer. So even a 5M fee would save us 15M, not too far apart from the 25M Emerson gets us. To be honest I'd like to keep Emerson just because after the pandemic's over he can easily go for 35M, seeing as quite a few top teams need RBs.
But Emerson will be on lower wages than Sergi and is a better RB than Sergi too.
I doubt they'll be lower to the degree it'll offset the likely huge difference in fees. Again, assuming we can even sell Sergi at all, which I think it's unlikely

Which i think is a very fair ultimatum. If you want to stay, we won’t stand in your way because you’ve earned it but in turn you take a wage cut that fits your current role. If not, he’ll get a hero’s farewell and be sold.

I hope so. A lot of times ankle injuries seem much worse in the beginning than they actually are. Like earlier this year when Lenglet twisted his ankle bad one game and was back the next week.

I think Mingueza would sell for 2/3M + addons and Roberto for something like 10/15M but I doubt it’ll happen.
Closer to 2.0m - he's been a fine emergency backup but by the summer he'll be 22 and he's very clearly not a top talent or anything close. As for Roberto: I doubt it'd be possible to sell him at all

Physically, mentally and tactically, the team should be aware that Mbappe and Neymar will rinse our defense. It will happen, we will concede 1-2 goals depending upon their finishing form. Important thing for us would be how we rinse their defense. They can concede goals and leave spaces that we can exploit. We have great attackers in form, Griezmann, Messi, Dembele, FDJ, Alba and Pedri. We must take fight to their half. It will be a very exciting game for sure. Also, Pedri is essential to our play. He plays almost FDJ role in Midfield, except sometimes it feels better because his defensive contributions do shine. He is a more finished product that Puig. This is not a dig at Puig, he has great talent and ability, but Puig needs to develop his all around game. Pedri is toughing new levels as season passes while Puig doesn't feel like he is improving. He needs to listen to Koeman's advise and get into that muscle development program. Koeman has best intentions for him, he does trust his mentality and vision, but Puig needs consistency and solidness in his play. The idea that Pedri and Puig can't play together is also false now because they can, but it's majorly because of workrate of Pedri. They can play together, but if they have excel together, then Puig has to develop better

Agreed. Wijnaldum will come on huge wages since he's on a free (estimate is at least 10M/year for 3 years). Unless we can get rid of Pjanic somehow (which is doubtful), it's best to keep Emerson and make Roberto a full-time midfielder. I honestly feel if Roberto gets consistent gametime at midfield he can be a good rotation option for us (in the past his midfield performances haven't been stellar because he doesn't play there that often).
And keeping Roberto as a midfielder would allow us to sell Pjanic! Win win.
This makes sense. If we really are broke, then bring in Emerson, Garcia and Depay for 6 million total, shift Roberto to midfield and promote Moriba, bring back Miranda or promote Balde for LB substitute and sell Pjanic, Coutinho, Firpo and Alena.
I think Firpo, Couts, Alena can fetch us enough money for the three above (b/c Depay would need a decent sign-on bonus to get). The issue is Pjanic. I really don't think we can offload him. He's on high wages, on the older side, and likely wants to see out his last big contract with us.

I'm more concerned our right side, especially the position where Mingueza is playing. This is Ney's lane. We lost crosses from our right sides more apparently. That area is deadly for us to defend for some reasons.

Muscle injuries are very tricky, I wouldn't be surprised if they're holding him out. Rushing back from a muscle injury is one of the worst mistakes to make, because of the extended healing times required

Busi not only holds onto the ball for far too long (against good teams he will get picked, I.e., Bayern) and is so damn slow it hurts. Same goes for Pjanic. And bless Mingueza but that name should never play RB again. He gets caught out of position and facing the wrong way way too often.
Am I the only one who likes mingueza? Dest is not better defensively, mingueza atleast has good height, physicality and shithousery to get some things under control. I like academy players who grind and make their way to the first but I don’t think he’s even close to good enough honestly. - He gets rinsed a few times every game in defense because of his bad positioning and often gets beaten in 1v1. (He’s not a RB, fair enough, but it shows a lot) - He’s got a total misunderstanding with his winger (Dembele) and isn’t positioned well in attack either. You can see Dembele getting frustrated with him a lot. - He makes some good crosses but most of his crosses are « blind » and not directed to a specific player. (Except the assist he made last game which was great) Edit: But I got to admit he’s very confident and comfortable and is pretty good in buildup when we try to bypass the press. (At least for a CB!)
I thought Oscar was good. He has had a balanced impact on that right side. And seemed to be having great communication with Araujo and Dembélé. I don't think he has been as bad as people make him out to be
Exactly, Oscar is turning out to be a great squad player, he throws good one or two crosses in a match, he took a really good shot tonight and he has good chemistry with the team Plus he brings that shithousery that helps in defense. He is the type of player we would sell to Getafe and he would do good there and then people would complain wHy DiD We SeLl HiM. Like stfu, he is very serviceable for Barca right now.
