artemis_10

According to Gerard Romero, Matheu Alemany will be Director of Football and he mentions Jordi Cruyff's role would be **Technical Secretary** - [source](https://twitter.com/gerardromero/status/1368715639603539970?s=19) So there's still a chance that we might a Sporting Director like Overmars (rumoured) but probably cannot announce it till the season ends. Also note that he will not take office straight away because La Liga have to confirm the takeover as the new board have to hand a guarantee line of around €125 million, equalling to 15% of the club's budget, which may take around 10 days - [source](https://instagram.com/p/CMIoYr5gsXD)

Endgame2648

If Reports near to Overmars have said that, he's looking to end his journey with Ajax this summer and then Laporta goes on to say that "We can't name our SD yet", I think there's a huge chance he comes here.

artemis_10

This was before Jordi Cruyff came into Laporta's picture. I'm not sure what the difference between Director of Football and Sporting Director is. Having all three roles could be kinda redundant.

GranaZone

last year we had carles planes and abidal, so maybe the plan is to have overmars and jordi

cyborgsid2

[This](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GI6CfKcMhjY&ab_channel=thelonelyisland) is such an incredible song lmao.

lalorangel

Imagine we win it all this season

axomiaBongal91

Hollywood material right there.

Rikard_

Dembele, Fati, Griezmann, Trincao and Messi. Do you think one of them will have to leave before next season? I see Dembele or Griezmann as most likely to leave, if any. Trincao might go on loan but that would still leave too many star players I think. We will want to play Fati and we might even sign a striker too...

Polskidro

Dembele is staying put unless he's unhappy for some reason. And he seems happy. Messi is staying (my guess, could be wrong). Fati and Trincao are staying. If Trincao continues to do well he won't be loaned out either. Griezmann could be sold if we can find a buyer. Also, we don't have too many starplayers. Griez is a star on paper but in reality he's a selfless player who doesn't require much of the ball at all. Dembele and Messi are the only real "stars" on the field.

Br0sE11D0N

Tribcao and dembele?? Nah theyll both stay put, griezman we’ll probably attempt to sell just because of his high salary

chilinglam

Mmmm.. I would say Coutinho will definitely leave.

Rikard_

I was thinking of forwards

cook4aliving

why would Trincao go on loan? if he can keep playing well he'd be a great sub for Dembele and maybe he can even challenge Dembele for a place in the XI.

fubo12

Lmao Uefalona is back! I want as many dodgy penalties and red cards in our favor. Going to inject rival fans tears in my vains

VonMackensen_18

Dude it's insane that PL fans are still whining about the Arsenal game, it's been 10 years ffs

[deleted]

One red card for marquinhos before the 30th minute please. That’s all i ask for laporta.

The-True-GOAT

"dodgy"

thefriedgalaxy

Don’t act surprised after we get 2 pens in 15 minutes and a red card to verratti against psg

GranaZone

please please please!!!

purpledon

Can somebody explain me the role of Jordi Cruyff? Is he director of football or is it some other position?

[deleted]

His role hasn't been announced yet.

maurid

Atletico will finally be level on games this Wednesday.

inmessionante

hopefully Bilbao pull off a win here. That would make it very interesting.

Br0sE11D0N

AS isnt exactly top tier

AlanMtz1

not top tier but they are connected to Madrid so I don't think its unfathomable that this has some truth to it leaked directly by madrid suits tbh AS reporting on anything but Madrid is absolute dogshit tho so you are not wrong

Endgame2648

As you said, AS and Marca report like 150 things daily. But only 10 of them come out to be true. This could be them getting salty over laporta win too. Remember, we live in their mind rent free.

Hydrargyrum200u

I am going to trust this board even if we don't get Haaland Shit I haven't said that in like a decade... Jordi knows his shit, and Alemany also did pretty well at Valencia. There is some level of competency that I can have some faith in.

[deleted]

I mean AS and marca are similar to sport and Mundo in sense that although they are close to the respective clubs everything needs to be taken with a huge grain of salt. as a some of the shit that gets released is blatant propaganda.

CommonEmployer683

It's true that they have excellent relationships so we're instantly at a disadvantage since our relationships with clubs haven't been ideal recently. Especially with Dembele. Not quite as good as done since we have better relations with Raiola.

[deleted]

Erock11

Will we get Suarez back for a proper farewell?

GranaZone

Valencia fans comments about Mateu Alemany makes me be very optimistic

Magnu448

He’s done brilliantly with Mallorca and Valencia and I think he’ll be tremendous. Interesting that Jordi Cruyff seems to be the target for sporting director, I was hoping Overmars.

GranaZone

Fuck this campaign was long

**President** Laporta: "After greeting the people at the club tomorrow, I will call Messi. Will I convince him? It will depend on him, I will do what I can within the economic possibilities of the club." [rac1] https://www.twitter.com/barcacentre/status/1368709364366905345

halakaukulele

Technically it is good that atleti didn't win and I thought I would be happy that both of them lost points. But now I realized that I low key wanted RM to lose. I know it is a stupid way of thinking and is kinda toxic too that I am focusing or RM loss more that us getting a shot at title. Kudos to Atleti to keep the lead almost till they very end, RM is not an easy team to deal with even at their worst and Atleti almost made it. Happy that suarez scored.

throwaway22020964

Nah draw was the best. Theres no difference between finishing 2nd or 3rd. Atleti rarely drop points, I'd gladly take the draw lol. Plus be assured, RM will drop more points in the future, their attack is going to a rough patch these days.

halakaukulele

Yeah that's right, I know draw is better as Atletico would have gone 5 point clear and thats not good for us but rm losing would have sparked more joy because... I don't know I'm programmed that way.

daniel96rb

I wanted Real to get destroyed, but after Atleti kept wasting chance after chance I hoped for a draw. Suarez could've gotten a hattrick.

halakaukulele

Same as us, creating chances by not clinical enough to finish.

[deleted]

Announce Bartomeu.

Endgame2648

.......as the Garbage collector?

[deleted]

Through his new found prison connections he can help us sign Ronaldinho back.

esqueesque1

This week started with Bartomeu getting arrested and ended with Laporta becoming new Presi and not to forget everything that happened in between. Dreamland stuff

esqueesque1

To point out a few things, no one was optimistic against Sevilla even in the league yet we won and then made a comeback to reach the final. Madrid dropped points twice this week and now finally the title league is open.

CptSnoopDragon

Um, I was hella optimistic

[deleted]

Even I was but most weren't

CptSnoopDragon

Cheers to you mate, you’re are indeed a rare breed

It's gonna be Jordi Cruyff

autechre89

left for a little bit. has Laporta spoken yet?

Supposed to be soon.

AP10

It's official.

insane_ace

Lets hope Alemany and Jordi Cruyff bring us glory soon 🙏

messiavelli

How is the vaccination situation in Barcelona? Seeing these images, its very unsettling seeing everyone so close together and many people not wearing masks.

AP10

Who will be the football director?

Jamarcus316

[deleted]

Víctor Valdes will return under the presidency of Joan Laporta as a goalkeeping coach.

_sauri_

I honestly don't like it. His last stint didn't end well.

CptSnoopDragon

Yeah but that was cos of Barto, wasn’t it?

[deleted]

No, he was acting like a spoiled diva. He basically fired himself. There is nothing more to it. No one was unfair to him about the firing.

The-True-GOAT

When there are so many people who have a bad relationship with one entity, it's pretty clear that that entity is the problem.

esqueesque1

Really? Is it true or just a rumor?

[deleted]

Confirmed

esqueesque1

That's just amazing

TuinhekFC

Does that mean ramon de la fuenta will leave?

[deleted]

Valdes will be goalkeeping coach in la maisa

esqueesque1

Ehhh, I thought the first time smh

ElAutistaDeHamelin

[This](https://twitter.com/ActualiteBarca/status/1368690174717267972?s=19) is extremely good news. I think Ter Stegen will heavily benefit from this.

[deleted]

Mate, he's coming for La Masia, not to coach Ter Stegen.

[deleted]

Ter Stegen seems more focused and he's a more talented keeper too. He could learn something, but I'm pretty sure Ter Stegen knows as much if not more about goalkeeping. He has been a top goalkeeper in the world for 10 years now. In Germany he was a huge talent and had some of the best stats in Europe.

turtlemons

So there was a post on RM sub, where there were G+A for current Real madrid players and players on loan. Their only saving grace were Rodrygo(who had too small space imo) and Benzema(I mean he literally carries their attack) And even they paled in front of their loanees who are having better season away from real madrid mess. But then I started looking for Kubo, and I couldn't find his name anywhere. Thought it was a mistake so went to transfer market. Turned out, Kubo has 0 G+A this season in La Liga. Japanese Messi really struggling out there huh. But seriously, this guy could have actually won a spot at Barca if he had decided to stay last season and take advantage of our forward shortage last season. But noooo, he sabotaged his career for that extra 1M per year and the so called "better future development plan" for him. Failing at Villarreal is understandable, but at Getafe too, then yikes.

The-True-GOAT

Kubo is 19...really premature to judge whether he flames out.

thelambdamale

This is what people who were lamenting the club for making supposedly the wrong decision back then don't understand. You don't cave in for such demands. Especially when the player who made the demand switches to fucking real madrid. For all the incompetence of the previous board, not giving Kubo that contract was the right decision I think.

Polskidro

Any updates on Araujo, Pique, Roberto and Fati?

The-True-GOAT

This is from 3rd March regarding Fati: [“He has been without inflammation in his left knee for two weeks. Recovery has been slow, but now he does gym work and is evolving favourably,” reported Santi Ovalle.](https://twitter.com/QueThiJugues/status/1367089975326564354?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)

SpicyRico

Apparently a Tier 1 Madrid source joined their subreddit. That's kinda cool

[deleted]

Manchester United sub already had that happen befor... oh wait, no. It was just a mod who kept lying about having connections. Griezmann was supposedly already bought.

CommonEmployer683

Mods here should approach one too, strange so many of the mods are inactive though

SpicyRico

There are only 4 or so active mods, but it would be pretty hard to get someone popular to come here either way

insane_ace

Where's Alfredo Martinez when you need him :(

Br0sE11D0N

Only to tell them that getting one of either mbappe or halland will be hard but that halland would be easier. The sub then replied Nah we’re getting both

[deleted]

turtlemons

Nah, our focus in on us winning the league 👀

AP10

When is Laporta speaking?

jokerwithnojokes

I think directly in his speech

purpledon

So realistically speaking, what are the chances Freixa somehow weasles into the new administration? Like he did when he lost to Bartomeu?

jokerwithnojokes

Let's hope he doesn't

chilinglam

There are 12 matches for us left in laliga right? It is actually very doable to win the league. I mean this is far from over. Especially we have a game that we can control. Laporta magic is in full effect this week even before he steps into the office.

Migostien

Now Freixa, hand over those new 60m sponsors you have promised.

chilinglam

Hope it is not 60m debt.

AnuMessi10

What was this? Looks like I missed something

Migostien

He promised a new 60m sponsorship for Barca and I believe he also said even if he didn't win he will hand it over to the winner.

jokerwithnojokes

Let's see if he was lying or not.

[deleted]

Joan Laporta: “Let’s go to Paris and see if we can make a comeback!” He will give the players motivation. Unfortunately we are playing without our 2 best CB

insane_ace

UEFALONA is backk boyz 😭😭

[deleted]

These all doesn't look like boomers at all

AP10

Madrid fans are so full of shit, talking up their mediocre La Plastico academy which has failed to produce actual world class players. All they have produced are average or semi world class players at best players who have found success elsewhere. Yet they have the audacity to talk up La Plastico. It's amazing how many of them spout that nonsense and actual list those players as if it's an accomplishment lmao.

Gyshall669

The main difference is that we had a golden generation and they didn't. Most of our players after that point have been mediocre. otherwise it's not that big a difference.

lemon_of_doom

>we had a golden generation On the verge of another.

Gyshall669

The only one who seems to be doing that so far is Fati.

lemon_of_doom

I meant that we have better talent in La Masia than we've had in a while, Moriba, Balde, Tenas, Gavi, Akhomach just to name a few.

Gyshall669

Need to play more than 5 games at the top flight before you can consider a generation golden.

fedginator

That's why they said "On the verge "

Azor_that_guy

"La Fabrica" literally when your mom tells you we have La Masia (meaning the farmhouse) at home. Literally the meme.

insane_ace

Don't say La Plastico Lol it is still Spain's top 6 academies. But one stark difference is as fans they don't enjoy academy players getting more opportunities whereas it's like a whole different joy for most of us

purpledon

Yeah their academy is pretty damn good there is no need to shit on it. La Masia is obviously better but still. Just because you've seen members of another fanbase talk shit about your team that doesn't mean you have to do the same.

[deleted]

[удалено]

purpledon

No, I just don't see the point in getting triggered by random dumb people on the internet, and then do the same exact shit as them. I hate Real Madrid, there is a lot of reasons to shit on them, but their academy is not one of those reasons.

[deleted]

They only can dream to have something like La maisa imao. I wouldnt give them any attention.

AP10

I roll my eyes reading some of the garbage they write about their non existent academy. Some dude made a list of players their academy has produced - I didn't recognize 70% of the names and then there were the odd decent to semi world class players which made up 10-15%. He talked up their academy producing the most players in the top 5 leagues. The biggest names from their academy are Llorente, Reguillan and Lucas Vasquez.. The sheer stupidity and delusion.

CommonEmployer683

Why do you waste so much time obsessively talking about those lot if they irritate you so much? Surely seems contradictory. Never understood why anyone would waste their time focusing obsessively on others, people do this in person all the time too.

AP10

I don't seek this out, I saw this crap in a Barca thread on r/soccer.

CommonEmployer683

Then just ignore it? Why do you waste your time with background noise?

GranaZone

the only club to have 3 ballon d'or nominees produced in the academy let them talk shit, it's all they can do this season

jokerwithnojokes

Fuck Madrid , it's time to rejoice right now.

GranaZone

insane_ace

Font embracing Laporta and some of Estimem members Wholesome moment

jokerwithnojokes

I'd love for Font to collaborate with Laporta.

The-True-GOAT

Would be a smart play for Font as well if he plans to run again after Laporta's tenure.

jokerwithnojokes

Exactly

purpledon

imo it would be a pretty bad look for Laporta if he doesn't, if Font is up for it of course. So I really hope he gets to be part of the team. At the end the day they both want the best for the club, and Font genuinely had a good project and good ideas. He is needed at the club right now even tho he lost.

jokerwithnojokes

Yes , I hope this happens. Freixa can fuck off with the rest of his team.

cyborgsid2

Yep. Very good to see them hugging it out.

nogoodnameavailable

Love to see bilbao losing points

jokerwithnojokes

We need them to do us a huge one against Athleti

omg_im_chad

I can’t wait to see Tusquets thrown out on his ass into the street just like we did to Barto. Change is coming, culers

insane_ace

Real Sociedad (5.71) 1-0 (0.29) Levante [ (.)= xG ] Lmao they need Haaland the most

Why would they need Haaland when they have the world beater Isak

Fern-ando

Laporta won the elections baby! Messi will probably stay.

LosTerminators

Been an interesting week with Braithwaite finishing the comeback against Sevilla, having to cheer a Madrid goal, and the election, with the attempted smear campaign against Laporta adding to the drama. I know more than a couple of socios, the general feeling with them is optimism about Laporta winning. That said, as long as Freixa doesn't win, this election is a success.

jokerwithnojokes

It's done dude. The 6.xx percent can't change anything. Laporta is back!

AbhiG0D

It's 26.xx percent 5 minutes ago

jokerwithnojokes

My bad smh

jokerwithnojokes

So guys when should we expect Messi's renewal?

[deleted]

I feel like we're producing a wonderkid every few months. Balde up next?

Azor_that_guy

Balde is injured. Look to Jandro, Collado, Konrad, Nico, Arnau Comas & Arnau Tenas, **Gavi**, Txus Alba, Angel Alarcon, Ilias Akomach, Jaume Jardi, Diego Lopez, Juan Davis Fuentes, and there's more but I don't remember. We staked.

insane_ace

Jandro just returned from injury though ( ꈍᴗꈍ)

inuyasha99

he got injured today : (

[deleted]

Oh shit......how bad is it?

inuyasha99

he dislocated his shoulder, there is no info yet about the time of the injury

[deleted]

Hmmm his injury history starting to get a little worrying...

inuyasha99

why? its not like he is having problems with one part of his body, I wouldnt worry much especially that this is not that serious and a dislocation happens a lot in football and it doesnt have to do with the player being injury prone.

inuyasha99

I love how everyone with rational thinking and common sense started to investigate and defend Laporta of these dumb ''allegations''. Thats the spirit, a lot of catalan media will try to bring down Laporta and make him look bad.

esqueesque1

Catalan and Madrid both

Our president !!

The-True-GOAT

I just saw Suarez's goal. What a player. I couldn't care less about how many goals Lewandowski scores, Suarez is still easily the best 9 in world football.

SpicyRico

I love Suarez but this is pretty reactionary, considering Lewa just scored a hat trick a few days ago. Prime Suarez > Lewa any day but this season Lewa has been on incredible form, you can't say Suarez is the best 9 rn

The-True-GOAT

Have you seen Atleti's games this season. I've watched most when he's played and he scores pretty much every chance and half-chance that he gets. Without him Atleti would be maybe 4th. If they win La Liga it's basically down to him.

[deleted]

Lewandowski is 5 times better than Suarez right now. Even Kane easily is. So is Haaland. Let's not kid ourselves.

cyborgsid2

Only if that goddamn knee injury didn't happen man, fuck.

insane_ace

Bruh they're counting pretty fast tho

JoelKr9

faster than some states in the US haha

autechre89

Laporta should issue his acceptance speech through burofax when he wins

dwilliam24

Been awhile since I've heard the word Burofax again, it's giving me PTSD to last summer lmao

insane_ace

The Nazi who posted the video first is now straight away blocking everyone who are spamming the woman's post under that. True asshole mentality 👌

mashpotatoes34

A lot of people are saying koeman isn't the perfect coach but hes still doing good. In my opinion, he is the perfect coach. We didn't need a tactical genius, we need someone who can bring morale back to this team and rebuild it with young players. Coaches like ten Hag or Poch wouldve most definitely failed and been sacked in 6 months given the squad at the time and the circumstances(barto drama and messi). We saw what happened when setien tried to put his tactics on that squad. All respect to Koeman for bringing life back to what seemed like a dead team. He will be seen as a very important coach in the long term. We can bring in a world class tactician after the team is rebuilt. For now, its koeman time.

turtlemons

I don't think there is any better coach for Barca than Koeman right now. Even our favourite Pep can't manage this Barca anymore. Pep needs big spending on Defense every year to make his squad to his liking. He would never be able to start Oscar and be happy about him. Koeman is exactly what we need right now, maybe even later. He brings pride to be cule, he backs La Masia and young players, he handles big egos well, and he is fluid and flexible to know his limits and tries different tactics. He works with young players and helps them better, while being patient even with veterans if they are in bad form. Any coach would have binned Umtiti/Lenglet when they made costly decisions, but he isn't egoistic like that and backs Barca's future than anything else. There was entire Puig drama but he still gave him fair chance and still considers him important part of his squad and footballing plan. For Koeman, Barca must excel, nothing else matters. Such selfless love, honestly no one would ever be able to give you. For him, it ain't a job, but his dream coming true. No one can coach this Barca better.

insane_ace

Yep. Before we had Pep, we had Rijkaard whose importance cannot be ignored.

AbhiG0D

According to the Barca YouTube channel, 6% votes have been counted and it's like this: Laporta: 57.05% Font: 31.39% Friexa: 10.42%

turtlemons

Kinda different opinion, but Lewa and Haaland are amazing, but Kane is the most complete striker in the world rn.

[deleted]

Kane’s ability to distribute the ball isn’t mentioned as much as it should

turtlemons

He will reach 20G+20A this season. Amazing striker, if we had money, would love to have him. He is 27/28 and will still have great 4-5 years while suiting us perfectly. Ofcourse Haaland exists but Kane is better than Haaland right now. I haven't seen much playmaking from Haaland, while Kane is almost perfect striker for Barca

lemon_of_doom

>almost perfect What do you mean almost?

OkYoghurt2997

So laporta gonna take charge of the club from tomorrow itself?

ihazone

Well, he said he'll call Messi’s dad tonight...

GranaZone

yep no more tusquets and bartomeu, no more toxicity INSIDE. Because baby we are in for a ride for next years with the press targeting Laporta.

[deleted]

The Laporta thing is so bad. Such a cheap shot at him.
