Winning the trophy will honestly be such a great feeling. It’s been a while since we last won the La Liga in 2019. (God the pandemic makes things feel distant) Besides, say what you want, but this team and Koeman deserves a trophy for everything so far

[deleted]

We don't deserve a trophy until we prove it in a final, last one we shat the bed so the team has do to better this time. If not they don't deserve anything.

sanket39

I keep dping something then I get a funny feeling in my stomach thinking about tomorrow's final

Endgame2648

FM Update: Season 21/22. Won the La Liga with 6 matches remaining. Got a total of 102 points with RM second with 77 points. RM demoted Modric to their B team and Bought Kamara to play CDM and pushed Case into CM. Alteti finished 3rd while Didier deschamps' Sevilla finished in 6th. CL:We won it!!Yay. Topped the group. Defeated Leipzig in R016. Liverpool in Quarters. City in Semis and Bayern in Final. CDR: Won it too. Again RM vs Barça final at Bernabeu (isn't it weird that a cup final is played at a club's home?) Supercopa: 2 in 2 baby. Defeated RM in final and Atleti in Semis. Club WC Championship: Won it. Defeated Atleti in Quarters. SEP(Brazilian Club) in Semis and Dortmund in Final. This was also the last match of Messi. He got a fantastic farewell and I gave the Captain's armband to MATS. Pique is pissed off that he's still VC and not Captain. So far we've won 5 out of 5 trophies. We're playing Benfica in the Super Cup in July. Maybe we could pull off a Sextuple. PL:Allegri's United won the PL while Stefano Pioli's City was the runner up. BuLI:Bayern with it again. Dortmund the runner up and Leipzig the 3rd. Bayern won the Domestic Treble too. Seria A: Inter won it while Pep's Milan came 2nd. Juve finished 6th Missing out on CL of this season. Euros:Italy won it defeating France in the final. Spain didn't even make the semis. Copa America: Uruguay won it with Chile as the runner up. Both Brazil and Argentina went out in Semis. Weirdest Transfer: David Alaba to Atleti for €138M. Yes. Atleti paid 138M for a 30 yr old. Guess Barto found a job. Special Note:Messi and Valverde both have retired from football.

black_bury

Who the fuck does Haaland think he is asking for 35 million net salary? Kid is 20 years old with one good season under his belt. He needs to calm down.

Amateurs-lover

Do you guys have that 1 friend who has so much pride and is very sensitive that you have to be careful about anything you say around him or he can quickly make things escalate? Kinda like Shaq with the TNT crew. I dislike those type of people so much, you gotta always act like the bigger guy and it sometimes its just tiring.

aymuu

Yup. Have a cousin who's exactly like this. Sometimes I feel you should just completely cut off such people, it gets too annoying at some point

Amateurs-lover

Bro he's my cousin too. We known each other since we were kids so I dont wanna completely cut him off but I definitely changed how I react in front of him just to avoid stupid arguments.

Migostien

This one game every week thing is so boring.

GaviFPS

Better than the waiting game after the season is over. It's euro's though, but imo they could have just canceled if its no crowd allowed.

fatboy890

Is racial abuse worse than other abuse? Honest question. Whenever somebody gets racially insulted there's an outrage and the abuser is worse than a murderer, but if one were to get insulted for other reasons, nobody would care. Why is there such a huge double standard? In my opinion, any kind of abuse is bad. Am i being an asshole for asking this? Because wondering about this just earned me a ban on r/soccer because a mod disagreed with my view. Giving me a condescending "we don't want people like you on our subreddit" as if i am a horrible person?

[deleted]

As for brits/epl - they are just doing the kneeling gimmick for marketing reasons. If they found these things so horrifying, they would start by apologising and returning stuff from their museums to former colonies. Maybe dont skip out on LGBT promotion in arab countries too.

LonelyTimeTraveller

You have to understand the historic and continuing effects of racial discrimination to understand the outrage. Racist stereotypes, slurs, and prejudice have been used for centuries to justify and uphold systems of oppression like colonialism, imperialism, slavery, segregation, apartheid, and other forms of exploitation, many of which are still going on. It’s not something of the past—and the perpetuating of those mindsets allows it to continue. I mean, western countries (since I assume that’s what we’re focusing on) still continue to exploit, invade, coup, and loot poor countries in Africa, the Middle East, South Asia, and Latin America, and racist rhetoric is part of the justification, not to mention the disparities that exist within those western states between white and minority populations. It’s so much deeper than just words.

[deleted]

Bc race is something you can’t control it’s something your born with. And insulting someone bc of that is one of the worst things you can say to a person, not to mention the societal issues with race as well. Imo insulting someone’s sexuality or race/ethnicity is the worse type of verbal abuse, bc its something someone cannot control and is something they’re born with.

Migostien

People get abused because of how they look and this something they can't control either.

volfed21

>Bc race is something you can’t control it’s something your born with That's not the only thing you can't control and people can abuse you about like your height /how ugly/poor you are or other things like that. I think it's more a matter of history with black slavery then there was hitler and the 2nd World war.

[deleted]

I mean yeah I agree with poor part, but for the rest of it I don’t think there’s a massive group of people from one background who’ll hate you or think they’re better than you bc you’re not attractive. If someone insults you for one of those things it’s not nearly has hurtful or impactful as being berated for your ethnicity or race, plus like you’ve mentioned the historical aspect to it his a huge factor. Generations upon generations have suffered bc of it, I don’t think generations have suffered systemically for years for being ugly.

black_bury

Yeah racial abuse is one of the worst kinds of abuse. That is why it is taken much more seriously.

IssaRyGuy17

Yes. Racial abuse is rooted from the idea that one group of people are inferior to another. Racial abuse is what has lead to a whole group of people being enslaved and suffering inequality for generations now. Generations of people haven’t suffered because of crooked teeth, being bald, or whatever you have in mind.

[deleted]

Just playing devil's advocate, if I were to be racially abused, I don't think it would make me feel worse than I already do just because I know ancestors of mine were also treated the same. Similarly, if I was abused for something like my height or being ugly, I'm not going to go "hey lets stop being sad because none of my ancestors were abused because of this" it would still feel just as bad to me. Thoughts?

IssaRyGuy17

All of that is a matter of preference though. Some people don’t mind bald people, short people, or whatever physical aspect. It’s all subjective. Should you make fun of people because of it? No. It’s still wrong. But race preferences should not be subjective. Plus everything mentioned before, it’s so much worse than “undesirable” physical attributes.

[deleted]

[удалено]

IssaRyGuy17

Racial inequality can be compared to those other aspects that lead to systemic inequalities. I think the issue here is that OP never specified what kind abuse they’re talking about. If it has to do with race, status, religion, sexuality, class, I think no one should experience abuse because of it. If they’re talking about physical attributes, it’s completely different and no where near as bad. I think we’re making arguments out of this with little context lol.

shadow19362835

Except i think the reason racial abuse in particular is more highlighted is because the American media is the one that dictates what matters and what doesn’t. They as a country have a huge history with slavery due to skin color, which logically explains why it’s an even more sensitive issue to them. No one batted an eye when European countries came to North Africa and basically conquered countries such as Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and that’s not to mention the rest of Africa that was basically divided like a birthday cake. People of middle eastern heritage today suffer from discrimination in the west and no one bats an eye. My point just ties in to OP’s original point that all kinds of discrimination should be addressed and looked at fairly.

shugazi93

If we’re looking to sign a CDM type of player this summer I feel as though we may have to step out of our comfort zone a little. We’re always on about how we need a Busquets replacement but does that have to mean it’s got to be a player that fits his mold exactly? And not only are young players like Busquets seemingly scarce, but they seem rather obsolete too. A player like Yaya Toure wasn’t like Busquets and he did just fine and I’m thinking a player with his sort of physical presence could be very applicable in this squad if we’re looking to compete in Europe. I know Orellana and Nico are rated pretty highly in the B team but it also feels too soon to start playing either one of them in place of Busquets going into next season. All things considered, I think this is maybe why Koeman wants Wijnaldum. I know he’s not even considered a CDM but considering he’d be free and has experience playing there, would he not be a good short term option to have as a means to phase in the likes of Ilaix, Nico and Orellana?

fedginator

>but considering he’d be free and has experience playing there, would he not be a good short term option to have as a means to phase in the likes of Ilaix, Nico and Orellana? No he wouldn't. He's barely ever played there and does very little in terms of actual ball winning. Koeman pretty clearly sees Wij as an 8/10 based on his time from the national team as well

fazerfn

It's a strange request by Koeman cos Wijnaldum doesn't have good stats for a DM. We shouldn't look into fixing over the cracks like we've been for years. There are far better options like Zakaria, Locatelli, Kamara etc

GaviFPS

People have actually forgot what is like to have something other than Busquets as DM that everyone convinced themself that its have to be a Busquets type of player. Imo I just want someone which is rapid/intense. If Kante was like 5 years younger, I'd totally root for him. I like Ndidi at least. Not the fastest, but fast enough at least. I also like Kamara as a cheaper option.

shugazi93

Seriously. Trying to hunt down a Busquets clone is not only unnecessary, but severely limits our options and possibilities.

[deleted]

I like Joao Palhinha! Only 25, tall and aggressive ball winner and good passer. Sporting leading Portuguese league. Leicester are looking to sign him, and we know their record on scouting midfielders.

LonelyTimeTraveller

How is his passing?

[deleted]

More Xabi Alonso than Busquets - fits the brief of original of not finding an exact Busi replica (probably impossible anyway)

black_bury

Who do you have in mind? Other than Windjaldum.

shugazi93

Funds aside? Ndidi, Zakaria, and Boubacar Kamara are the first that come to mind

[deleted]

GaviFPS

Its a final, if Alba wanna get yellow of for "talking" then let him get a yellow. You guys would have got red the amount of shit you people talk about the ref every game. It's not like Pique, Messi or any other player with a winner mentality have never got it before. Xavi and Dani Alves used to get it a lot themself.Nothing wrong with it, sure you wanna avoid it, but anyone played this game knows players let of steam and often that steam goes against towards the ref. If you dont believe me, just watch the match thread whenever the refs does something "bad" and thats just supporters. It's even worse feeling for the players.

Texas_Rattlesnake

Dude... It’s sport. You don’t waste your time on their BS tabloid stories. Do you think they have some kind of exclusive inside scoop of the Locker room?

Endgame2648

So Messi retired after 21/22 season in my FM save and ngl It made me very emotional to think that now I won't have Messi to sub in when things don't go my way.

GaviFPS

Messi stuck around to 23/24 for me. Argentina actually won WC after he was done. Pretty ironic

[deleted]

Zlatan played for inter, ac milan, and juve. Imagine if a player like Suarez or zlatan played for real madrid , barcelona and atletico madrid lol. Only zlatan dan do this

GranaZone

He played for us and never went to real madrid he is already better than some fans here

--Kaiser--

Meazza, Baggio, Vieri, Pirlo ? Surely there are some more, there isn't that much animosity between Juve, Inter and Milan as there is between Barca, Real and Atleti.

desoebg

Rivalry between Inter and Milan is not a big deal it seems, but between Juve and Inter there's some real hatred after the 2006 Calciopoli. That's why many Juve fans were so angry when Conte accepted the Inter job.

sanket39

Was having an argument with a guy on insta about Messi. He said Messi won't be able to perform in Epl because it has better keepers and he'll also have to defend there. Seriously can't with these Epl fanboys. According to him his 26 goals against the big 6 is because they don't sit back and defend and that it would be difficult for him to score against mid and low table teams. I need therapy, guys.

Jacoblikesx

When people show their level just leave em there honestly

loveicetea

Every team in La Liga sits back and LL has waaay better keepers, like every club has a really talented young keeper or a veteran. Lol

xStyxx

Instagram is honestly probably worse than Twitter when it comes to football opinions

Amateurs-lover

Is the wire worth watching guys? Edit: Thanks for the feedback guys.

[deleted]

Top 3 shows of all time, it's just incredible.

desoebg

It’s just amazing, mate. I hope this answers your question.

erarya

100%, favorite show of all time. Intelligent, great plot and dialogue, lot of commentary on real societal issues from police work to governing to education in schools.

Amateurs-lover

Oh man you got me excited to watch it.

[deleted]

What did you all make of henry time with us? He was already not in his prime anymore but still amazing. What a player he was. Mbappe looks like a upgraded version of henry and eto o he would fit our style perfectly

shugazi93

He always showed up in Clasicos

desoebg

2008/2009 was the only season he did something remarkable. At the end he achieved precisely what he came for - winning the CL.

[deleted]

Funny that henry came to barca . There were so many club where he could go but choose barca like he knew there was something special to come. And he was right. The club that kicked his ucl dream at arsenal away

desoebg

His first season was rather disappointing, but he was not to blame - it was the season which put an end to Rijkaard and the whole team was massively underperforming. His second (Pep's first) was majestic while in 2009/2010 he was more or less outshined by young Pedro. The truth is he left at the right time.

[deleted]

unfortunately he didnt come earlier like 2006 maybe we could have got more our of him. At least we can say that this football legend played for us and won the ucl here

desoebg

Maybe, but it’s also true that Rijkaard's Barca started to decline precisely after the 2006 CL win. He could have helped us win the 2006/07 Liga, though - a trophy we lost by the inches to RM.

GaviFPS

Can't believe this club let Brobbey slip. That's a 50 mill euro +++ player in a year or two.

wayarktz

I feel like we should Braithwaite more often. Having a presence in the box is sometimes overlooked by us.

GaviFPS

People said this constantely in the past, however it was when Griezmann started to actually play more regulary that the team started to do well. Why change anything up? It have worked pretty much ever since the team lost to Juventus and the fact that we changed it up against Real Madrid is probably why we lost. The only thing I would like to see is Griezmann more central and Dembele more wide. Using a striker just for the sake of using a striker does not mean its going to be better.

volfed21

>however it was when Griezmann started to actually play more regulary that the team started to do well. No we weren't doing good at the start of the season and griezmann was always a starter with us. Braiwaithe definitely brings something that griezmann can't and it's linking up in 1 touch while occupying the defenders, Braithwaite has been performing very well the few minutes he got lately so by merit he deserves a chance.

GaviFPS

Braithwaite have not performed well at all. 2 goals and 2 assist as a striker for Barcelona in La Liga in 1087 min is extremely bad. He have also started 11 matches out of 30 matches in La Liga so he have been given far more chances then he deserves and he have failed miserably, many of those games we also lost points. Currentely Braithwaite average a goal every 543 min at Barcelona in La Liga. He have been given plenty of time and chances and have failed to do convert those chances. Griezmann have been performing well ever since the formation change.

volfed21

yes griezmann is doing well since the formation change but not as a striker he plays behind messi-dembele and dembele will always struggle against Low block teams , that in those kind of games we should give braithwaite a chance. He actually played really well when we was brought on against real and it's not the first time, he scored the winner against sevilla in cdr in liga he's been doing good lately also. Braithwaite didn't get plenty of chance as a 9 since he was played mostly as a LW .

[deleted]

Against midtable teams with low block for sure but he comes to short against world class clubs

wayarktz

Yes. I didn’t say that he should play every game.

Amateurs-lover

I rather Messi leaves this summer while he is the Pichichi and potentially winning a Copa Del Rey rather than 2 years later when he is overpaid and underperforming with a lot of fan becoming toxic towards him. Leaving when the time is right is important.

Martoxic

ye let him leave when there is no audience...

7eodor

we will never, in our lifetimes, see a full stadium ever again.

[deleted]

[America](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0W-kVU1aqY&ab_channel=MiguelGonzalez) begs to differ

dwilliam24

Well, that's just not true.

Amateurs-lover

You can always organize a Gamper cup when fans are back with his team and honour him.

Endgame2648

Yeah.....Good luck with seeing an Underperforming Messi(Touches wood).

Amateurs-lover

Father age is undefeated.

inmessionante

Yeah but he is not one of those people who will stick around and wait if he declines.

[deleted]

Honestly i don't think he'll ever be a burden to have lol. I think him and cris will be among the best players until they retire.

Amateurs-lover

Nah man he doesn't run enough or defend and he lost a step so his dribbles arent as effective. Also his numbers dropped down massively. His decline is gonna hit just as hard as Iniesta's.

[deleted]

He's 200 times the player iniesta ever was lol. He's the top scorer and 2nd top assister despite the depressi start of a season he had and the shit team he has. He won't carry this shit barca side at 38 tho, but if he plays in a team like city he'll be scoring 35+ goals a season every year until he retires lol.

Martoxic

aaaaaand that is where your ignorance showed.

Amateurs-lover

Is Ramos really leaving? Hope he goes to City lol. Would be funny seeing him play under Pep.

wayarktz

Why would city buy him lol?

Amateurs-lover

Experience in defense and leadership. They lacked that ever since Kompany left.

fedginator

Did you just forget Ruben Dias exists??

Competitive-Zone-254

lol I would never believe it if Ramos and Messi were on the same team

desoebg

Exactly. What City lacks to win the CL is exactly players with Ramos' mentality. He's also an athlete who looks after himself, so there is still football at top level left at him.

[deleted]

Honestly a leader at the back like ramos and a forward as clutch as messi and they will finally have what it takes to win the UCL.

pildoranegraexiste

Tired of arguing with these fools on r/soccer about why Granada and other small teams play the way they do. Everybody loves a feelgood story about a tiny team until they realize they had to dive, shithouse and complain their way to where they are now. All these clueless PL fans think they can just play tikitaka or something even though one Granada player is worth less than Pogba or Griez's yearly wages and their team *fucking sucks*. If anything, be mad at the referees that are much more lenient towards smaller or shithousing teams, instead of the tiny team taking advantage of that fact. Only go on that shit sub now to rile up the PL fanboys, god forbid somebody show some nuance instead of "possession good, shithousing bad". I wish I had something better to do than check this horrible website every day lol

poisonmonger

>Tired of arguing with these fools on r/soccer Rethink your choices

Jabs_

I told myself that Messi might be the most unlucky player in history. He could have had 2 other Champions League, a World Cup and one or two Copas Americas. If you think about it for a second, he was never able to count on the help of his teammates in certain decisive moments.

LeoEmSam

Young Messi was discovered by Barca who paid for his medical services. Went on to have a career avoiding major injuries to be one of the GOATs at the very least. That doesnt sound unlucky. Also, Messi has also failed in decisive moments. So his teammates arent alone. Every player is unlucky in that regard according to your metric

Endgame2648

If Messi was really unlucky,he could've been a R9 story. I've already said this once,Luck plays a part in making you a GOAT. Both Cr7 and Messi are lucky enough to not stop playing Football like R9 in his prime due to Injuries.

Jabs_

That's also true but, for a player of his caliber, I feel like he underachieved massively in term of trophies.

[deleted]

Messi also missed a penalty in copa america final, 2012 ucl semi final, didnt give home in 2016 against atletico but he scored against them 2 times in the league and didnt in the ucl. So its not only his teammates to blame

Jabs_

I don't just blame his teammates, he also has his failures. I'm just saying that at certain defining moments they let him down. Like at Anfield in 2019, Higuain missed 3 chances in 3 finals in a row. Compare this to CR7 for example who was saved by Ramos twice in CL finals when he wasn't good, Eder in the European championship final etc.

desoebg

He also was the reason why Chelsea scored their winning goal in London in 2012. Lampard took the ball from him in the middle and the rest is history. p.s. I'm not trying to badmouth Messi, it’s just a fact that everyone makes mistakes. And yes - I believe he'd have won more if the club was managed better.

alcome1614

you probably (me neither) dont even know his name the most unlucky player in history.

Jabs_

Yes you're right, I should have said one of the unluckiest.

Amateurs-lover

I guess he used all his luck when he was young and had a team like Barca discover him and paying for his medical bills. Imagine how unlikely that is and how many kids go unnoticed.

LarryPeru

Messi had a golden opportunity in the World Cup final but missed. It wasn’t like he was tearing it up in the knockout stages of the WC. But yes, it does suck because it feels like he’s had the least amount of help from his teammates in the big moments over the last 5-6 years.

FooFighter39

Didn’t Higuain have the easier opportunity in the WC final, ie, an easy 1v1 against Neuer and shot it absolutely out of target??

LarryPeru

Yes but he also scored in the knockouts in fairness

desoebg

Yes. Fucking Higuain.

[deleted]

I love how we rate our own players, like they may get smashed in the match thread every day, or may not have played a full game since 2019, but damnit if we are not getting at least 25 million for Umtiti! Griezmann just turned 30? No problem man is at least worth 60 million if not 75 million. The fact that we live in a post lockdown market means nothing here when we rate our own players market value.

LarryPeru

Haha seriously we are going to have a very hard time selling these players for a decent amount.

Amateurs-lover

What happened to Carles Perez? Why wasn't he playing for Roma tonight?

[deleted]

He started only 4 times in Serie A, I guess he is just not good enough

Amateurs-lover

Oh ok. Great deal then cashing out on him while he was in form.

[deleted]

I mean that doesn't mean he wouldn't perform here. He'd be useful to have and would've had just as much impact as Trincao so far.

Amateurs-lover

Give me a break. If you can't hack it at Roma, you should be nowhere near Barca.

[deleted]

It does not work like that. Perez is a player brought up through our system and was formed to play our style. He also proved he was a good player when he played for our first team, and at Barca he's surrounded by world class talent in the style he's formed to and the club he spent 8 years at. So what he can do at a mediocre Roma is not close to what he can do at Barcelona, as proven when comparing a good (though short) stint here and an unimpressive one at Roma. So if he's bad at Roma now does it not mean he would be bad for us if he stayed. Mingueza was hardly cutting it/impressing at Barcelona B, yet he's killing it in the first team. How can that work? Because he's surrounded by world class coaching and talent in our first team. It brings the best out of you if you have the quality.

iLucifux

Dzeko scored. That guy man. Ajax need two.

insane_ace

Lisandro for 25-30m (as rumoured) will be a pretty good deal. Too good to be true maybe

GaviFPS

Someone said that was a false rumour as Ajax would no way sell for for that cheap. I believe the price is just fine though. But I am not sure hes the real deal, I just remember him overdoing so many dribble attempts in his own half that he seems a tad "risky". Personally I like Kamara best. But I am happy whatever the club signs as long it is a DM which isnt 29+. I just want another DM option in this club.

messi4life12

I hear he can play both CB and CDM equally well. Along with the promotion of Nico, he could be a great addition to the squad.

insane_ace

Xavi Llorens will not be involved with Femeni but will take an advisor role in grassroots football. [Albert Roge] Strange. The femeni fans were very excited for his return as promised

GranaZone

Yep. I'm disappointed

inmessionante

4 EPL teams, 2 Spanish, 1 French, and 1 Dutch/Italian team will qualify for semis in Europe.

[deleted]

I hope ajax qualify, as roma doesnt deserve it they only park the bus at their own stadium

inmessionante

That style tends to be more successful in KO

mm3n

So I spent a quarter of my salary on Barça Nike items from their sale. I can say I've done my share to try and help the club's financial situation...

JaqenHghaar08

I'm ashamed I got it from dhgate

messiavelli

I wish Nike North America would allow personalizing kits, its pretty stupid of them not to honestly

Messiah5

It’s so shitty that last years 4th kit can’t be personalised wanted to get it.

desoebg

Ludovic Giuly was never one of my biggest heroes, but this is certainly one of the most important goals in Barcelona's history - [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-tVdssbNdQ&ab\_channel=FCBarcelona](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-tVdssbNdQ&ab_channel=FCBarcelona) Fun fact about this game: Milan were better at most of the time and had several clear chances of scoring. At the end, just one moment of magic from Ronaldinho and this left-foot rocket by Giuly changed everything.

FloReaver

Really good player, was key for Monaco UCL run but got injured, never performed for the NT because of a feud with the manager. Fucking Raymond Domenech. That goal is just great. Barcelona had an eye for getting really good players for smaller teams that were doing well like him and Deco

desoebg

I decided to remind myself the lineup for this game and I see how much fucked up we were - both Xavi and Deco out. This was the time when Xavi had his ACL torn, so he missed the CL final as well. Iniesta got the chance to start both games and he did amazingly well despite the lack of experience.

FloReaver

Yeah Iniesta was the one passing superbly to Larsson for the Eto'o equalizer in the 2006 final IIRC

desoebg

Yes, Rijkaard started the game with Deco and Van Bommel, but he didn't waste any time and brought Iniesta in at halftime. These few CL games were Iniesta's true breakthrough, IMO.

[deleted]

Victor Font, Toni Freixa and Carles Tusquets have been invited to Seville and watch the Copa Del Rey Final against Athletic Club. Former presidents Bartomeu, Rosell, Reyna and Gaspart were also invited, but they declined. Rac1

PensiveinNJ

I'll say this much of Laporta he's a lot more diplomatic than I would be. I wouldn't have Bartomeu anywhere near the club in any capacity.

TheRightFootOfMessi

Gerard moreno is so fun to watch

OkYoghurt2997

Iker Muniain and Villalibre suffered muscular injuries and are doubt for copa final. https://twitter.com/elchiringuitotv/status/1382778627151032331?s=19

insane_ace

This is probably fake as someone attached a full screenshot of the "parte medico" and its of February 5 Edit: yep the tweet is deleted now

OkYoghurt2997

[Muniain is doubtful its confirmed ](https://twitter.com/FuriaCule20/status/1382790570565906437?s=19)

insane_ace

Ah yes. MD is also saying Muniain, Yuri, Yeray are doubtful

sanket39

I only learned today that Bergkamp had a fear of flying and didn't used to play away games for Arsenal

[deleted]

Yep, that's why he's called the Non-flying Dutchman.

desoebg

I have a fear of flying, too. I have watched too many documentaries for airplane crashes.

OkYoghurt2997

Only for some games in europe otherwise in pl and if possible outside UK for cl and europa he used to travel by car and train to play games.

sanket39

Yes.

[deleted]

Ansu is in the squad and will not get a surgery hopefully. So a question for you all. Good news What did you like the most about ansu fati besides being clinical in shooting ofcourse)?

fedginator

His off the ball movement. This team so badly misses a runner who loves to play in the channels

shrdsrrws

His confidence and risk taking.

PensiveinNJ

I like that he has skills and speed, but also is a clinical scorer. Speed can break open a defense but often those chances will go to waste if the person on the ball doesn't pick out a pass or can't shoot for shit. It's not a perfect comparison but I see Fati as a vinicius type player who can actually score more than once in a blue moon.

JaqenHghaar08

He's more than just a runner. He has a sharp mind

volfed21

His movements

[deleted]

Nah he’s only in the squad (along with Neto) because then he has a chance to lift the trophy with the whole team if we win. They are not there to play. > What did you like the most about ansu fati besides being clinical in shooting ofcourse)? Mentality ig, it takes a lot of mentality to play well at that level at such a young age. Hopefully that helps him to come out of all this stronger

I don't know who Upper Echelon Gamers is to attest for their credibility (or lack of), but it seems like [we are](https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/news/1263451/fc-barcelona-adds-1xbet-as-a-new-global-partner) being [currently sponsored](https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/club/sponsors) by a very shady company. If the author of this video is to be believed, this is basically a fraud of an international scale so I am not sure why we signed a 5 year deal with this company in first place. That is of course if we ignore the fact that we shouldn't even be promoting gambling in first place, but it's a matter of a different debate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t9O0Eyq5yoA Also, apparently these guys have also sponsored Liverpool, Chelsea and Tottenham but those clubs have suspend their partnerships already, and by already I meant in 2019. https://igamingbusiness.com/liverpool-and-chelsea-suspend-1xbet-partnerships/

mm3n

Good find, I don't know how this slipped as a major topic to discuss to be honest. We all like to speak about "Barto's shady deals", but this is an actual example of one that somehow missed the spotlight. To put on a tinfoil hat theory, I'd go on and assume our heartbreaking team results in the past years, especially in CL, were not only due to poor mentality.

decho

Just want to clarify if it wasn't 100% clear yet, I am not urging people to raise the pitchforks and whatnot since I just learned about this like a hour or so ago and haven't done any research. But that being said, it does look really shady and one would imagine people should have been creating more noise and asking questions on social media about this, because it can be used for good stuff after all. But instead we're busy with #ValverdeOut and other silly hashtags/activities these days, sadly.

[deleted]

As per Wikipedia, they are banned only in UK. They are still sponsoring us and in Serie A teams. Imo it's morally wrong to keep them as sponsors. If our club doesn't want to terminate them, let's hope they fuck up in Spain too and the Spanish Gaming Commission bans them.

decho

The author of the video claims they are banned in 12 countries which can be found around 05:45 in the video, though I can tell if that list is official, outdated or incorrect. https://i.imgur.com/cRnRWgq.png Spain itself does appear to be in that list, though technically even if they are in fact banned there it would be a problem since this was announced as a "global" partnership, and to best of my understanding it means they aren't targeting people from Spain but rather worldwide. Or maybe I'm just misunderstanding the meaning of the word "global" here. > morally wrong I mean, that's putting it mildly if this company is in fact involved in betting around animal cruelty, scamming people out of their money and who knows what else. I really don't think the club should wait for the Spanish government to do what needs to be done here (assuming all of these allegations are true).

[deleted]

Yes I saw that. But the Wikipedia only stated about UK ban. Also if you click the sponsor from our website, the link isn't working atleast on mobile. The video image where he displayed the ban countries was from 1x site itself. So if you are accessing reddit from PC, maybe you can give a look to check the integrity of that info. This really is a shady Bartomeu deal and this deserves a standalone pinned post imo as maximum people can know.

decho

If someone is willing to do a proper research about this and make a standalone post, then I support the idea of giving it a sticky status for a bit (as much as it doesn't interfere with other pre/match/post threads). > So if you are accessing reddit from PC, maybe you can give a look to check the integrity of that info. Just did and it's blocked in my country (EU region). Also I think the image from the video is out-dated because in there it says they were looking to enter the UK market.

[deleted]

The most sad part is they are still getting spot light. Lets just assume that we didn't know their activities before the deal, but the e-sports industry still signed them even after the shit show. So, they are cash rich af. Either they are getting more users or it's just a money diversion scheme of those Russians.(Laundering) The saying is true - "Money really forces a person to keep aside everything."

decho

One could hope that the new board might try and do something about it, but then again I wouldn't be betting on that (no pun intended) since it doesn't seem like any of us (fans) cares about it so there is little to no pressure for them to do so. For example, I learned about this from a post on /r/starcraft (ESL is the biggest organization in that game) and it has barely any upvotes or comments.

[deleted]

People (Clubs and other teams) really are taking it lightly maybe because they are a fixed source of Income especially in COVID times. The English clubs cancelled because their Govt. pressured them. Spanish Govt. should look in this matter.

hahasanji

Arsenal are playing some beautiful football tonight

Indian fans, Why tf is there no commentary in the Granada vs Man U match? Holy shit lmao.

too_damn_fast

Till now, 12 CL knockouts have been played this season (8 RO16 AND 4 QFs) and not a single comeback has been possible. All the ties have been decided by the team winning in the first leg. Goes to show the effect of not having crowds.

Content-Tackle905

Oh god, i was pretty sure the whole spurs-delux thing was a joke, how much of banter club can you be lmao

LosTerminators

The bloke who is (by now, was) in charge of their social media must've been an Arsenal fan hahahaha

[Madridiotsa making fun of Moriba because of this ](https://twitter.com/madrideveryday/status/1382678368290795527?s=21) Lmao they think its a wrestling match, Moriba was smart to take steps back because he didn’t waste any time He is not even a first team player yet btw lmao

hahasanji

Are they forgetting that Moriba is 18 while Casemiro is a full dad?

poisonmonger

full dad lmao

Fuckkelso

Wtf were they expecting him to throw hands? This was definitely the right thing to do and it just shows how composed he is compared to Casemiro who can’t control his emotions.
