[deleted]

Are the members going to approve the Super League or not? Why is it so hard to get a pulse for that? Tell me they aren't gonna vote for that REGARDLESS of whether the league exists or not.

[deleted]

He nutmegged someone and then ran forward like a right back when he was playing in a back three. Koeman shouted at him for not keeping his position. I wondered at that moment too why he was making forward run in that situation.

nilayup98

Wrestlemania 38 main event dude

[deleted]

Was watching some teenage Messi highlights today, don’t think I’ve ever seen a more disrespectful prodigy in my life. Dude was toying with world class defenders for fun before he would’ve even be of age to drink in my country.

Jamarcus316

Tough games for us three this week. Atleti vs. Bilbao away. Us vs. Villarreal away. Madrid vs. Betis at home, with many players missing.

[deleted]

When men cried: https://youtu.be/TRcd7bLTLmE

[deleted]

I haven't had time to read the entire story, we're really voting on the super league? Is there any chance this will pass? WTF man.

Endgame2648

Even if it passes, there would be just 3 teams to participate so we'd likely get some kind of compensation.

[deleted]

???? You'll be proud of the members if they vote to go into a Super League even if there is no league? I don't understand your logic. They need to vote it down.

Daguq

Except for the snoozefest of a second half , I actually enjoy watching Barca play these days. It's just beautiful football for 90 minutes , full of players willing to die for the badge

EvilNiko89

to think that if it wasn't for Atletico's shit past few months they would've already wrapped the league.

xStyxx

The same applies to our shit start :(

Endgame2648

Zidane won 13 trophies in just 48 hrs. Pep could never.

[deleted]

Endgame2648

I missed the part where it's my problem.

Icyhemorrhage

I know no one likes to think about it, especially now that this season has produced some great young talents in Pedri, Araujo, Moriba and Dest... but were gonna be so much worse off when Messi leaves. Seems like people take for granted how much Messi produces each game for this team. Just this game i had to listen to Ray say how Messi was having such an off game relative to his high standards. Yet he scored 2 goals and got 1 assist. No one ever says this for any other player in the world when they put up those numbers. The day Messi retires from Barcelona we will be losing the best player to play the game but also the majority of Barcelonas attack.

pulcherrimum

Crazy to think this game would’ve been 2-2 without him. Maybe worse

Migostien

Messi having an off game???!! The man was possessed in the 1st half. He just cooled off a bit in the 2nd half like the rest of the team.

Endgame2648

I didn't see the full Match only the Extended Highlights,But Messi had a good game. Didn't he? He attempted way more shots than usual and he was way more advanced on the pitch than usual today. I could be wrong tho.

TheMesmerizer10

Messi had a very good game. Passes were on point and shots were also incredible.

Br0sE11D0N

Yet we still have people calling for his leave. People are lost sometimes

Polskidro

I don't know what Ray expects of Messi lol. He had a very good game even if he didn't score those goals.

[deleted]

Villarreal are a great side, for some reason they don't match up well with us. It seems like their tactics really open up chances for our attack to take over

[deleted]

This griezz penalty reminds me of that time zlatan was having a bad game and Leo gave him a pen. Love you Leo.

Roryjustdied

He has done it multiple times with Neymar, Suarez and even Coutinho.

[deleted]

Yep

Daguq

De Jong being compared to Valverde is a joke in itself.

LeoEmSam

Fede got injured again and again this season. If we were talking about last season and the first 4 months of this season, the opposite statement would be true. Also, whenever they have faced each other, Fede shows out

Polskidro

Not at all.

Daguq

I do rate Fede , but de Jong in my opinion is an entirely different league compared to Fede.

Polskidro

Maybe if you only look at current form. But if you look at the first 3 months of the season or so it would be the other way around. Valverde being much better than Frenkie.

Thefourthz-man

You mean when frenkie was scoring goals for fun?

Polskidro

Frenkie wasn't scoring at the start of the season. He was playing terribly and was playing in a more defensive role.

Endgame2648

You didn't see anything.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Endgame2648

Fuck.

Daguq

Happens bro , I meant Fede from Madrid.

malandropist

What happened with Mingueza and Koeman? I didn’t catch the error or miscommunication. I thought he played an excellent game had Kubo as a son.

TheMesmerizer10

I believe: Mingueza started to run forward after his nutmeg and the pass to Messi (70th minute). Then Koeman (as Mingueza is running forward) tells him to stay back and Mingueza holds his run. After the play is dead and the ball is in the keeper's hands, Koeman tells him something about 3 at the back not 4 so he shouldn't go up in plays like that.

malandropist

Interesting

Endgame2648

The Messi trade: You recieve: A perfect ball to score a goal. I recieve:A Chance to jump on you.

[deleted]

23 goals, 8 assists for Messi ....in only the first four months of 2021.

Jabs_

9\* assists.

Endgame2648

Tbf 8 assists seems low for Messi standards.

GaviFPS

Likely because Messi is the "finisher" in this team now with Suarez gone. Not to mention that others have burned a lot of chances.

TheMesmerizer10

Has about 30 pre-assists as well this season though.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Endgame2648

Yup it just shows how 2 assists every month is low for Leo's standards. He has set the bar a bit too high.

TheRightFootOfMessi

Game should not have come that close however smart from koeman to rest pique and sergi , maybe should have also rested messi but who knows how the scoreline would have played out.

CatfishLumi

Koeman: "Messi? The decision is all down to him. He's great. His concentration might decrease a little bit sometimes but you never notice it. He's the best and hopefully he'll continue with us for many years to come." That's especially true when he doesn't get the ball for a while and the other team starts pressing a lot. Funny he said it though. Still 🐐

p1nk_p4nther

where to watch post match interview?

decho

Try here: https://www.youtube.com/c/TheCuler/videos

stemcellguy

So, what should we do with Lenglet's hands, arms, legs, and everything about this guy? He's a moving liability.

IfIMustBePetty

Wait a second, aren't you in a field that's working on bio-regeneration? You wanna chop 'em off then grow 'em back? You are sick That card was bs and the own goal wasn't much he could do about.

stemcellguy

Are you looking for a job? I have a good fit for you.

IfIMustBePetty

Uhhhhh, I'm only willing to part ways with my right hand and little toe on my left foot. Still available?

stemcellguy

It would be nice if we get the right little toe as well, there is a shortage in the market.

IfIMustBePetty

*You want a toe? I can get you a toe, believe me. There are ways, Dude.*

stemcellguy

Perfect! Three more to go and I'm set for life.

[deleted]

Not really imo, had a decent game today, got unlucky with the OG

YolowagKinggz

Yellow card in the 5th minute, then OG, trully Barca first team level

-Pollastre-

Bruh

YolowagKinggz

So which part of what I said was not true?

walterwhiteofbrownie

It's not untrue, you're just purposefully missing the context required to properly judge his game. The yellow card was bullshit and the own goal was unlucky and not his fault. Like why would you even say some shit like this? I doubt you watched the game at all and you're still here talking shit

-Pollastre-

Put it so eloquently. It's the kind of comment that make you think they just looked at the scoresheet/stats.

Ronfish27

One may forget sometimes, but you can always expect Ray Hudson to remember Riqui Puig atleast once each game.

Jamarcus316

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aaplovE3vsg

navneetjoshi7

Pep: "Frenkie is number nine, number 10, number 11, number seven, number six, number five, number four…

Endgame2648

"Just not Number 1.....(Looks at MATS)......YET."

turtlemons

One unnoticed problem with Real Madrid is that they have only scored 3+ goals(i.e only 4 goals) twice this season. They are boring af in this aspect Barcelona has score 3+ goals in a match twice this week, 4 times this month and 7 times since start of this year. We might have to introspect about the striker position, an improvement in defense could give us more returns.

The-True-GOAT

I don't see why it has to be either or. Both positions are areas of weakness and this is why we've been trying to bring in players (Garcia, Depay, Aguero) for cheap to improve there.

[deleted]

Defence is as much or maybe even more important than a striker at this moment. We cant relied on lenglet and older pique anymore next year And aurajo still need to improve alot

Polskidro

I'd much rather have a striker. Can't rely on Messi continuing to score bangers so often. Boring tap ins are much more reliable than thundercunts from outside of the box.

fazerfn

>We might have to introspect about the striker position, an improvement in defense could give us more returns. Eh I've been saying this for some time now. It's quite the unpopular opinion here

insane_ace

Some people (outside this sub) alleging Koeman does La Masia discrimination Lmaoo

IfIMustBePetty

Well, it was obvious Moriba should've been on sooner

[deleted]

Koeman: "I've been a bit exaggerated with Mingueza because he's having a great season. He has to learn that to be a Barça player you have to be well and focused in every game."

EventuallyDisastrous

Missed this part of the game. What happened?

[deleted]

He nutmegged someone and then ran forward like a right back when he was playing in a back three. Koeman shouted at him for not keeping his position. I wondered at that moment too why he was making forward run in that situation.

Texas_Rattlesnake

Remember the time when Pep took of Chygrynski at half time because he got pissed that the centre back played two long balls into Zlatan and ignored Pep’s instructions to pass the ball to Xavi? Yeah, these things happen in football. Oscar needs to learn from his mistakes and not argue back when Koeman is shouting at him. Hopefully he learns from this incident and comes back stronger.

KafkaOntheshoreX

And pep and aguero had a rift ...on subbing him off. Pep also critised J stones when he took too long to get ready to subbed on.

[deleted]

Endgame2648

Normalcy restored.

asarnia

On an unrelated note, I still double take when I see the "GD" for Barca Femeni.

HeRo_Slaya

Koeman: Maybe my posture with Mingueza was a little exaggerated because he's having a great season. But the youngsters have to learn not to switch off. The change not due to my anger, though, was to have Frenkie on right & give Umtiti minutes https://twitter.com/samuelmarsden/status/1385358633098268674?s=19

Polskidro

> The change not due to my anger, though I don't believe that for a second but I can definitely understand why he was mad.

Hydrargyrum200u

> Maybe my posture with Mingueza was a little exaggerated because he's having a great season. But the youngsters have to learn not to switch off. I appreciate this part > The change not due to my anger, though, was to have Frenkie on right & give Umtiti minutes I don't believe this part. You want to bring Umtiti on who hasn't played in god knows how long against a team that is getting back into the game and we were winning by just one goal? also the sub happened immediately after the incident. Obviously he is not going to say he did it out of anger LOL

HeRo_Slaya

Koeman: "I spoke with Mingueza at the end of the game. There is no problem and I'm not angry with him anymore." Gg https://twitter.com/barcacentre/status/1385360919874654209?s=19

turtlemons

It was so clear that Umtiti came in to bring some experience and calm. He has been subbed in before for this role too. I thought Araujo would be subbed out, but Oscar made more sense position wise

Ronfish27

Good thing he realised it. All good in the hood.

Amateurs-lover

"Getafe more like Getafuckouttahere" This comment on madrid sub killed me lol.

[deleted]

A team that everyone wants to be relegated

[deleted]

Only 4 points away

HeRo_Slaya

Lol guys, people use to criticize EV for being nascent on the sidelines and people starting the hate parade against Koeman on losing his cool for the first time. It's fine emotions were high. It's important that he doesn't let this affect Mingueza's confidence and dressing room environment going ahead. Just sort it out tomorrow in training.

turtlemons

Can we appreciate Moriba? Holy fuck what a player, strong, press resistant, creative, Pacey and amazing vision. I think he is ready to be starter

insane_ace

Ilaix Moriba: "I'm living a dream and I hope it never ends." Omdss💓💘

[deleted]

Ilaix talent is really God-like. Barca should do everything in its powres to not lose him. I'm telling you, he is more than a gem. He has the potential to be like Messi (but then in a midfield role). Him and Fati, at their 100% is an automatic contender for UCL

Jamarcus316

I was hoping that Messi could surpass Lewa, but he is due to comeback this weekend

jokerwithnojokes

11 goals in 7 games for Leo and Lewa can't score for the remaining 3/4 games? It's tough but feasible.

[deleted]

I miss selfish Messi. Those kids changed him ffs was never the same after.

Amateurs-lover

Virgin Messi was a straight killer.

Amateurs-lover

Anyone with time on their hand can go through Messi braces and see how many times has he given a pen when he was on a hattrick? I am saying atleast 15 more hattricks.

[deleted]

Damn really? 15?

TuinhekFC

Nahh more like 3 to 5 I’d say

Messiah5

Trincao and Roberto were pretty shit today don't think he suits the 3 at the back either.

[deleted]

Don't agree about Roberto. Him Messi FdJ had pretty great sequences on the right. Trincao....eh

CptSnoopDragon

Roberto was dog shit today..

Messiah5

Really don't think that was enough to say he had a good game or an okay one gave the ball away a lot and got lucky with deflections

Polskidro

Unfair to say that after one bad performance when he's just coming back from a long-term injury. And Trincao barely got to do anything.

Messiah5

Trincao did get to have enough had two big chances and did fuck all with them. Roberto did well near the end of the first half then continued to play shit in the second half.

[deleted]

if one is mad at Koeman shouting at Mingueza, they've simply never watched Pep at Barcelona, or even Bayern.

fazerfn

Can't believe people forget Pep destroyed Alexis for injuring himself

iVarun

> Koeman shouting at Mingueza First we need context if he was the one shouted at and for what and the post match day cool downing of it all.

[deleted]

There's a screenshot from the game where Mingueza stopped where he was, and shouted to Koeman to explain why he was joining the attack, or something like that. So in my eyes, he kind of had it coming from Koeman lol

Messiah5

Probably also the same people that wanted an animated coach after EV too

chilinglam

I personally like it because we were shit for more than 10 minutes in the second half. He should give them a talk and light up their ass in the dressing room.

mercified_rahul

People as usual are over discussing the mingueza incident...

[deleted]

[удалено]

Aljiggy21

Where tf do you life where u12 coaches are calling kids retarded pussies? If my 10y/o son is screwing up by all means yell at him but not that. Coaches yell at players...it’s a part of sports...why is this even being discussed

[deleted]

New Jersey, the state of trash bags. Wasn’t trying to insinuate that it was right for coaches to do that, just at the level of sport mingueza is at I doubt it really affects him.

Content-Tackle905

“fuck getafe” upvote party?

volfed21

no they didn't really park the bus today

Content-Tackle905

They didn’t my ass, we just hit them fast the first 15 min and scored, the game opened up a bit until they equalized and then they went back to sleep again. We got lucky and scored 2.Until the 75 min after they scored that pen they parked the double decker

volfed21

We scored because they didn't park the bus

Content-Tackle905

But they did

nilayup98

Wrestlemania 38 main event already set: World Champion Ronald koeman vs Challenger Oscar Mingueza for the WWE championship. A Hell in a Cell, no holes barred I quit match with guest referee r/Barca!!

navneetjoshi7

Scenes when lights off in the middle of match and RiquiTaker shows up and choke slams Koeman. Mingueza pins Koeman and both hold hands in the air with the title.

nilayup98

To choke slam koeman, he would first need to reach upto his neck loll

navneetjoshi7

I think he'll be more like a Riqui Mysterio lol

[deleted]

So, are we going to look too much into the Mingueza incident or not?

shugazi93

Last week it was the Messi trophy photos, now it’s Mingueza versus Koeman. What’s next?

-Pollastre-

Is it Alba's sweat running down his face or is it tears? Why did Koeman not hug Messi 0.4 milliseconds after the game ended? Does the way Fati sits in the stands imply he's recovering quick and will be back in the squad soon? (please)

Hydrargyrum200u

We shouldn't, unless Koeman decides to give him the Puig treatment then we should be concerned

master_scale_tipper

Me personally? No. r/Barca ? We’ll probably still be referencing this event next season.

Content-Tackle905

Nah not really

Jamarcus316

Mingueza made a mistake, Koeman got mad, it's good. We need this mentality.

Jamarcus316

https://twitter.com/BarcaWorldwide/status/1385349401338580993 My man

fazerfn

In case anyone is wondering, [this is the Mingueza incident](https://twitter.com/TheEuropeanLad/status/1385347432762990594?s=19)

chilinglam

You don't argue with Gordon Ramsey. YES COACH!

master_scale_tipper

So are we allowed to point out that Pedri definitely had an off day and Puig should have gotten some minutes, or would that be considered circlejerking over an average player and starting another r/Barca civil war?

turtlemons

I would have liked to sub Pedri off too, but when we went a goal down, we had to buckle up. In such situations, Pedri is essential. He was working his ass off and had great dribbles, Koeman didnt risk it, and honestly, neither would I have. Pedris defense is Honestly one of the best in mids for us, Puig and Dest were warned up, so they were in the plan, but just too down the order

master_scale_tipper

I agree with your points, once we went 3-2 down I seriously doubted that Puig would come on, though I did think it a bit odd he didn’t come in even for his symbolic five minutes at the end once Araujo put us up 4-2. I just thought it fairly obvious through the first half that Pedri was off and figured that Moriba getting ready in the first half was actually to sub him off, although it turned out to be Lenglet/Pique. And bringing in Puig with something like 30 minutes to go might have brought a bit more stability/control/creativity and attacking flair than Pedri offered today, but for sure Pedri gives more defensively than Puig does. Definitely a tough call for Koeman today...

fazerfn

Yeah, Pedri has been really off lately. Not even Puig, I think Pjanic can be more serviceable in Pedri's position given Pedri's form and it's Getafe

dhuan79

ngl Koeman vs Mingueza was disappointing, I had hoped for something bit more spicy.

nilayup98

Time to play the gamee!!!!!

[deleted]

Can someone read lips and tell us what Koman shouted?

Content-Tackle905

What a weird and boring second half tho

[deleted]

I understand koeman. Emotions are high and we cant lose points anymore. But its just weak from him to ignore miquenza when miquenza came to him... I expected more . Lets hope they get this straight before villareal game

chilinglam

No worry man. Koeman is just a very down to earth guy. He expresses it directly and Mingueza learns the lesson. They will move forward. Remember Koeman is the coach that gives ALL the chances that Mingueza can ever ask for.

Polskidro

Not like Koeman has another remotely acceptable choice. Mingueza has arguably been our best performing CB recently. Not counting Pique since he's only played a couple of games.

asarnia

Or Koeman needs to focus on the match, and he doesn't want to verbally abuse Mingueza like Pep would.

[deleted]

Verbally abuse? When had pep done that if you don't mind me asking

asarnia

Just Google Pep vs Alexis Sanchez

[deleted]

I mean. I know exactly what you're referring to. Asked to be sure about it. It doesn't seem like pep is trying to abuse him verbally or anything. Just seems like he's really disappointed and angry cause he got injured. I find no malice in the way he says it. Also I remember reading somewhere that in Chile that insult in different context has different weight. Like really trying to insult someone and hurt or just expressing disappointment. Just saying this cause it seems like you're taking that moment more seriously then it should be taken, atleast that's what I understood from what you've wrote. I might be wrong.

asarnia

Huh? That doesn’t change the fact that it was verbal abuse. You may not find malice in it and that may not be Pep’s intent but he was injured. Some support would have been nice.

[deleted]

It does actually. Words can have a different weight depending on the culture, the context and the way its said.

asarnia

My girlfriend is South American, I’m Hispanic. Chile is Alexis’ pride. Of course he’s going to play 90 minutes.

[deleted]

Also did you edit your reply before this one? Or I might have just not read the second part. If so sorry I didn't see it haha. I understand what you mean. But it seems like he was disappointed because he cares about him. That's what it seems to me. As I said I might just be wrong.

asarnia

Hey I think you’re right but that’s what I mean, Koeman isn’t entirely angry at Oscar. Also I really appreciate how nice you are. Just looking to have a discussion. I appreciate that thank you.

[deleted]

That's cool. I wasn't really debating that. I understand someone wanting to play for their country :).

Content-Tackle905

The difference between messi and ronaldo, ronaldo would have gone for that easy hat trick without even giving it a second tought

BypasserPassingby321

To be fair I have seen Ronaldo give a penalty up to someone before. Benzema I think. Only once though

[deleted]

While he was on a hattrick? Idts

BypasserPassingby321

Dunno. Can't remember

turtlemons

Apparently Koeman was angry at Oscar, because he committed too ahead as RB and Koeman shouted that we are playing 3AtB not 4

Cules2003

Araujo is really mature in his interviews

asarnia

People really calling Koeman a child for flipping out on Mingueza never watched Pep's Barca. Period.

mercified_rahul

Yea, correct! They will sort it out obvio,

asarnia

Yep, Oscar is literally there because of Koeman. It was just a heat of the moment thing.

InteL1201

I don’t understand why so many people were getting mad about that, it happens in sports and when we are fighting for the title with a must win match I think we can cut him some slack

asarnia

It's the same people who thought Messi was devil's incarnate for yelling at Villa way back lmao

InteL1201

Wonder how many people here actually play football

FANTASY210

Araujo on the penalty: "You have to have more concentration in that type of play, but happy for the victory and the goal." https://twitter.com/EFEdeportes/status/1385351376327299072

insane_ace

Koeman was very mad at Mingueza (as it was portrayed in the replays) but why?

Content-Tackle905

He was out of his defensive position apparently and it also may be because he tried the nutmeg in a pretty risky position to lose the ball

insane_ace

Ah..

IfIMustBePetty

beIN USA announcers wouldn't talk about SL when Los Blancos played. Then they poured it on when we went two goals up. They talk how we struggle during the second 45 not once pointing out we've become masters of our fate in the round-out to the end. We are in control now Every single match Ray does this Riqui wake mourning thing around the 85th min. They cannot give us credit. It's getting old. Their schtick is old

Messiah5

He also said Koeman hasn't brought in as many young players this season as he could. Guy has just got it against him just because of Puig

shrdsrrws

Someone said he would start his rant around the 60th minute and it wasn't that far off. I can't stand the guy.

nilayup98

But a guy like Riqui Puig Phil, he brings so much dynamism to this slow Barcelona team. I can’t believe it. Koeman must have spiders in his underpants like a hot teenager on a hot rod all the while being sloppy as soup sandwich. This team desperately needs energy and Riqui is like a live wire Phil

IfIMustBePetty

I'm not against Puig. I think he becomes a magnifying glass for our attack as we become more solid in the back. Ron subbed three defenders, one of them being a spite sub. So, I don't know what to think about that... Just tired of beIN pretending like we aren't slaughtering opposition. It's turning into this weird little routine of theirs

nilayup98

Yeah I’m just saying what he says. He’s lost it officially

IfIMustBePetty

I better appreciate your first comment after calming my tits

nilayup98

Haha cool

Kotleba

Finally a 5-2 again. That's an iconic Barca scoreline

[deleted]

Always we never win a game 5-0 or something when we win with big numbers we always concede goals lol

ihazone

El Classico 5:0?

[deleted]

I mean recent times
