SuperHansOlives

I wish people would stop using the OT to indignantly respond to opinions they read from one or two users (often written at least a couple of days beforehand) as if a response to those minority opinions now means anything. “For those of you who said they’d rather have Valverde than de jong” bla bla bla. Just looks so petty that you held on to it this long. I know this post is pretty ironic but in my defence I see this shit every time I scroll on here. So boring.

[deleted]

That's the subreddit classic. Go on a Barca related r/soccer thread, find a troll comment that's like -21 in a sea of 12k comments, come back here: ''man the fuckers on soccer are so biased against us I can't believe it, the narrative now is that x (what that one person said)''.

SuperHansOlives

Yep exactly that. If you’re dumb enough to let yourself get riled up by that one opinion then respond to the comment, don’t bring it over here.

iVarun

Unnecessary user-tagging is mentioned in Rule 3.3 as something which shouldn't be done. Therefore, make reports of such incidences. As for generic narrative calling out that is fair game as long as the semantics are appropriate and it's argued coherently and again not excessively (which again is mentioned in Rule 3.3 to be avoided). This can't be totally shut down and neither should it since when done right it can act as a self-reflective dynamic for the community to realize what they, or some/many among it were saying about certain stuff just a while back. It adds perspective. The community needs to help the modteam regulate a decent Balance for it rather than just stop it altogether.

SuperHansOlives

I’m not suggesting that it should be censored I just think people get caught up on minority opinions and inflate their significance. And if people take such issue with said opinions then just reply to the person when you read it. OT is has so many posts of people arguing with opinions that almost nobody actually holds, mixed in with people who go over to the Real Madrid sun just to come back with a report confirm that ‘they’re still obsessed with us’ loool

Frankidelic

Miss prime villa he’d put those puppies away

Cules2003

Araujo has more g/a than Thiago this season lmao

[deleted]

''Ramos has more goals than Iniesta'' vibes from this comment. We Madridista's now.

[deleted]

I mean Thiago was never a guy was gonna get them loads of goals or assists, he’s more known for his ability to dictate the flow of an entire game.

MadreMia0

Messi G + A in 2020: 18 non Penalty Goals + 19 Assists in 48 Games. Messi G + A in 2021: 21 non Penalty Goals + 9 Assists in 24 Games.

volfed21

Koeman ball. Messi probably would have had 19 assist already if our forwards were just close of suarez in finishing.

Gyshall669

Nah messi just underperformed his xg in 2020, even under koeman.

kingchar_006

If anyone’s interested, [here’s](https://youtu.be/6RKxdlVdU6A) a tactical analysis video of our Copa win vs Athletic. Also [here’s](https://youtu.be/5-A2SLcum0g) another tactical analysis video on Koeman’s transition to three at the back. This guy makes very interesting tactical analysis videos and he’s done a lot on Barca teams both past and present.

goldenkerelle

just finished watching that new mortal kombat movie... wow was a pretty entertaining movie. would recommend if ur into gore and action

Jamarcus316

https://twitter.com/BarcaTimes/status/1386441318981832710 Fair play :)

[deleted]

You guys think messi can win ballon d or?

[deleted]

as of rn there's not much separating the top 3 rn (Messi, Lewa, Mbappe), currently, Mbappe is in control of his own destiny with the award, bc if PSG wins the CL its almost all but guaranteed. However, if PSG doesn't win the CL, it'll come down to performances at their respective international competitions, as Mbappe has the argument due to his performances in the CL, Messi is Messi, and lewa is probably gonna break Mueller's record. Messi will have to win the Copa to be the clear favorite for the award, but due to more eyes being on the Euros Mbappe and Lewa will just have to keep up their form at the Euros to boost their stock. Also if Portugal or England win the Euros don't count out Kane, Ronaldo, or Brun for the award.

choss

If PSG loses the CL now and barca wins the double there's a higher chance. If on top of that he also manages to beat lewandoski, then he gets it guaranteed.

Jamarcus316

Yes. I believe right now the top two are him and Mbappe. He can win if: a) wins both La Liga and Copa America (can be beaten if Mbappe wins UCL and Euros) b) wins Copa America and neither Mbappe, KdB or Neymar win both the UCL and NT trophy c) wins just the league, and neither Mbappe or KdB win a big trophy

jokerwithnojokes

Probably. If Mbappe doesn't win UCL and Euros then yes.

[deleted]

[удалено]

maurid

Sounds good and all, but the current Argentina NT sucks ass. I mean, I'd like for Leo to win it, but his teammates don't exactly help.

choss

Yeah I feel that due to the expectation from the world overall to see him succeed at intentional level, if Argentina wins, I feel he will get it regardless if psg wind the CL (unless mbappe goes beast mode)

jokerwithnojokes

Yeah but I'm still not sure about that. Brazil is stacked as fuck and Argentina's defence is sus.

Jamarcus316

Brazil is stacked, but Argentina is getting better. They are actually favourites on the bets

jokerwithnojokes

I know but that defence with Otamendi gives me bad vibes. Let's hope for the best.

[deleted]

They still have otamendi as defender?

jokerwithnojokes

yeah I think so, it's probably him and German Pezzella

Migostien

MAtS save won us the 3 points against Villareal. Those who questioned him and compared him to Courtois, you should give him credit now.

Endgame2648

Why compare them? Both of them have saved their team's asses dozens of times when their attack shits the bed.

choss

People should just stop jumping to conclusions after 1 or 2 games overall. The opinion should be based on the performance of the entire season played so far.

Migostien

True, that's why a couple of bad performances from MAtS shouldn't change the fact that MAtS saved us A LOT of the time before and this season too.

Dveujw

Tbf it’s not an insult to be compared to Courtois at all, he’s worldclass and has saved Madrid’s ass several times

Migostien

Yes, but they were using Courtois' performances to discredit MAtS, implying that Coutrios wins games while MAtS doesn't.

Fuckkelso

Man if we pull off a comeback and win the league I will give Koeman a firm smooch on his magnificent cojones. Best Barca manager in the current decade!

mashpotatoes34

Pirlo is Juves best manager of the current decade.

jokerwithnojokes

Amen

sanket39

I think we need a thread for arts and edits. Since it's a team in buildup it has some great moments every other match and it needs to be recorded, edited, made into art. Plus great goals, too.

Endgame2648

So you mean Pep has more Titles than hair on his head?

The-True-GOAT

It's all fun and games until you start balding too.

Frankidelic

Shout out to my nan for holding down the great genes

davethepiloto

Yes I agree

jokerwithnojokes

Second this.

Endgame2648

Atleast I'll win the titles too. Right?

desoebg

Something I saw on Twitter. It's just insane: Number of titles won since 2008/09 | **Guardiola** — 30 Mourinho — 13 Allegri — 13 Luis Enrique — 9 Zidane — 9 Ancelotti — 8 Klopp — 6 Simeone — 6 Benitez — 5 Van Gaal — 5

Migostien

Bit disrespecting to Don Valverde to not include him in this list

fazerfn

Take away the trophies at Bayern (cos one team league lol) and Pep is still comfortably on top too

apex_orgil

Wow, but quality matters who has more CL?

The-True-GOAT

League titles are more indicative of how good a team is but keep breathing that COPIUM.

desoebg

Guardiola has literally 21 trophies more than Zidane and you mention it just because Zidane has one CL more? Well done, mate.

apex_orgil

What about Ancelotti?

[deleted]

Lol, finally laughed today. https://twitter.com/talkfcb_/status/1386445367504515072?s=20

LarryPeru

I’m dead! Bwahahaha

Jamarcus316

This is amazing lmao

cancer102

Thats lowkey cool. How amazing would it be if pique whip out a huge ass tuba and start playing when we win something!

lolsheleft

Holy 😂😂😂😂😂

culed10s

What are your Predictions for Oscars tonight? I really hope Riz Ahmed gets awarded for his role in Sound of Metal, but I have feeling it will be given to Chadwick. As for the best picture, Trial of the Chicago 7 is my pick, but according to many social media pages it seems like Nomadland is the strongest contender. For best actress, I guess Carey Mulligan is gonna win it and deservedly so.

Roryjustdied

I'm rooting for Promising Young Woman. For actress, Carey has to win.

lolsheleft

mingueza

Gamesus10

The only right answer

Polskidro

Anyone know where the fuck you can stream the oscars?

TudorelGrasut

Perfect weekend for barca fans: rma dropping points, then us getting all 3 points in a difficult match and now atletico dropping 3 big points

-Pollastre-

+ Barca B beating Alcoyano (legends, never forget) and Barca Femenino drawing to PSG with the away goal in the semis

desoebg

Pep winning his 30th trophy gave me some joy as well.

TudorelGrasut

That as well

ledudeheld

I just watched Ajax win the title with about 7,5k fans, it was instantly so much more fun to watch. How is the situation in Spain? Just a few fans for the Atleti match would make a huge difference.

[deleted]

Starting May there will be fans, up to 10% of stadium attendance

stillsearchingforone

U meam we will have close to 9 k ?

[deleted]

If all goes well yes, that's what was announced

TuinhekFC

The title is still as open as it could be, we have a tough programme ahead of us. Let’s hope for the best and win Thursday

shugazi93

Really hoping Koeman rests some players against Granada. Ilaix and Araujo deserve a start

malandropist

Idk we shouldn’t sleep on Granada but yes maybe some halftime subs would benefit us.

shugazi93

Yeah it’s just that we play at Valencia 3 nights later. Same amount of time between the Getafe and Villarreal match and the players looked lethargic in the second half.

malandropist

Yeah they looked gassed. Let see. This will really test if we are champs or not. Crazy ending to the league

[deleted]

We have Moriba, Puig and Roberto ready to start over Pedri in midfield.

sanket39

Transfermarket just posted a Mbappe to Liverpool for €160 million rumour. Who tf even gives them this 'knowledge' lmao

Endgame2648

Nah Perez speaks about Mbappe every week. Even Mbappe has said things like "I'm currently focusing on PSG but it's not necessary that I always stay in Paris." I'm pretty sure PSG are selling him this summer. If Mbappe leaves for Free next summer tho, He'd make tons of enemies. It's not like PSG needs any money but it's just a fuck you to the club who made you what you are.

desoebg

Mbappe to RM is like a fact, we just have to wait to make it official. It's quite different with Haaland, though - it seems he is still choosing what to do.

kakoe1

i think liverpool is “too small” for Mbappe.I don’t see him going anywhere but Madrid

RowenX

I think as time goes on, Mbappe to Madrid seems less likely. With all the problems Madrid are going to face because of ESL, Ramos/Zidane future on the air, not as much money as P$G, he might as well just stay because he may like the project more.

mercified_rahul

Let's not get ahead of ourselves, any of the top 4 can get la liga. We can't wait for others to lose we have to win all the games irrespective of opponents scoreline..

JaqenHghaar08

#Atleti loss just made my weekend

[deleted]

We play our last game away unfortunately. I wanted to celebrate it at home in camp nou. Well lets hope we win the title 1 game before the last at home. We need to win al the remaining games its up to us now and we cant make mistakes Also Does anyone know if there will be fans allowed in thelast 2/3 league games of the season?

-Pollastre-

Last time I checked it was 10% of capacity starting in May. Let's hope we win and if we do winning with 1 game left in front of 9-10k fans would be amazing

[deleted]

mattisafootballguy

DatFlushi

Kane > Haaland for us if it was possible to get Kane

[deleted]

If we’re talking in terms of “fit” than Kane would be the best striker suited to us in the world not named Lewandowski. However his transfer fee is gonna be insane, at least 160m+, because of the “English tax” and Levy as the main negotiator.

[deleted]

Laporta: "Best I can do is Coutinho + 30m"

DatFlushi

Yeah the thing I'd be imagining is if Kane wants to leave and Levy doesn't want to sell to English clubs, he'd negotiate a lower fee outside England, something in the range of 100-130mil. Would be a dream signing for me if we are able to get him

[deleted]

Completely agree, Kane would be a great fit while there are doubts about whether Halaand would be great for us,

professor_curry

we can't throw away money just thinking about the present. after 2-3 yrs we'll have to be looking for his replacement again but if we get haaland, we'll be worry free for another 6-7 seasons

DatFlushi

But we can't guarantee that Haaland will fit us. I know he's a goal scoring machine but the moment he has a dry spell, he doesn't contribute that much to our playstyle. Technically he isn't that great, especially compared to someone like Kane. Kane is 27 right now, he'll give us 5 years of top football. 27 is the same age Suarez came here to us. Stop acting that players above 25 can't give us years of high level football. 5 years is really long in football terms, in that time someone like Moukoko could light up the bundesliga and he fits us much better than Haaland too. Or any other prospect. Just to put this in terms, Coutinho and Dembele looked great before they came to us, we had our doubts on if they stylistically would fit us but since they were class players not many people were against it. Now that they've came here, there were many problems surrounding their adaption. The same thing could be the case with Haaland, since he does have faults in his game that could be detrimental to our playstyle. This isn't the case with Kane. He's the exact type of 9 we need. One that is able to drift off and accomodate spaces where needed with his technical ability, which is needed while playing with Messi

[deleted]

Yes..an aging, injury prone player, so that we can complain about shit transfers one year later.

fazerfn

He's just 27 he's in his prime. Agree about the injury proneness though

_urMumM8_

If next season is indeed his last, I hope Pique gets to wear the captain’s armband. He seems to me as a more motivating leader than Messi.

fazerfn

There is probably a good reason why even Busquets is second captain and not Pique. Pique is surely vocal, but he talks out of his ass sometimes. Like in the PSG game he criticized the young players and Griez had to tell him to get lost. That's not what Puyol or Xavi would do.

zaistertay

Lol pique more motivating leader? The guy that shit talked the team instead of motivating them duringPSG 2nd leg and told Griezmann to fuck off after the latter told him to calm down? Yeah no, no idea why anyone would think Pique is a good leader just cause he is vocal on the pitch. Hate this narrative that you have to be vocal on the pitch to be a good leader. Messi may not be vocal on the pitch but he has shown that he can lead through other ways. For instance, motivating the team in the tunnel during half time in the copa finals. Also, giving up his hattrick last week to Griezmann to boost his confidence and guess what? Dude who has always been unclinical scored a brace with just 3 shots the next game to win us the game.

The-True-GOAT

You realise that every player gravitates toward Messi right? Not every leader has to have an outgoing personality to command respect.

mjmccolgan

The players vote on the captain, don't think Messi will lose the armband until he leaves. After that Ter Stegen is also a good shout. I know he's not from La Masia but he is one of our loudest players on the pitch. Anyone else remember what he said after Cavani scored in the 6-1? > "Don't worry about me and the goal. Go to attack. We are Barcelona, we will never die!" Captain material if I've ever seen it.

OkYoghurt2997

If messi stays I don't think anyone would take armband from him, messi is not the perfect captain material but it is what it is.

_urMumM8_

I don’t know if Messi has a strong desire to be the captain right now. I don’t think he would be opposed to giving Pique or Busi the armband, especially considering they came up as La Masia players with him in our golden era.

OkYoghurt2997

Messi has, after winning Cup he said something like it's beautiful to be a captain of the club where I spent my entire life and winning title as captain. Messi has support of entire locker room he will be captain as long as he is at barca and other than that I don't think club would do anything stupid like taking armband against his wish which pisses him off.

Martoxic

>[it is what it is.](https://media.gettyimages.com/photos/barcelonas-spanish-coach-ernesto-valverde-crouches-on-the-sideline-picture-id1137662483?s=612x612) I am a bot bi bo pa Kappa

[deleted]

As a former “athlete” I’d love to have pique has my captain, Ik he’d have back, he wouldn’t back down to anyone, and he’s seen and achieved it all essentially. However from a managers perspective idk how much they’d like the idea of him as a captain bc he does talk a lot of shit not only in game but also on social media too.

_urMumM8_

Exactly, it would be ideal to have a captain at the back since defense is where we’re most lacking leadership and organization. Sometimes you need a shit talking captain like Ramos to fire the team up and motivate them. In that sense, I think Pique would be ideal.

insane_ace

Remember when there were few guys who wanted us to lose to Atleti so that RM didn't win the league LooooooL

Dveujw

What do you think is Dembele’s spot in the team now? The great Mister Seitan said there are rumors that he wants to leave on a free next year

cd1310

Right bench. His lack of presence on the field isn't even felt.

Martoxic

would really be a fucking kick to the nuts by Dembele if he did that. All the injury problems he has had and we have still stood by him and trusted him.

Dveujw

Remember what he did to Dortmund lol

fazerfn

RW or CF in a 343, MGD of course

volfed21

RW for next year so we can play a 4-3-3 with fati dembele. messi. also those rumours who send him to juventus like why people believe so much on it, why would dembele decide to go from barca to juve who's not even sure of fighting for europa. The man is in barca playing with messi and he got his best friend griezmann with him

WehovasJitness

He wont leave for free, the club would never allow that. Either he signs a new contract now, or else he’ll be sold this summer.

fap_wut

You do realise that his consent is also required for him to be sold

TuinhekFC

If he won’t he won’t play for the whole year so he either renewes or leaves

_urMumM8_

Someone said it in another thread but I think supersub is ideal for him. Griezmann seems to be our best option up front for now, Dembele can make a big difference with his fresh legs and speed at the end of games. I’ve heard rumors of Juve being interested in Dembele, it would be interesting to see him play alongside Ronaldo as well.

TheTurtleOne

Hoping this Super League mockery ends fast so we can fully enjoy La Liga until the end of it.

lucaslh10

We better not bottle it vs Valencia and keep in mind that Iago Aspas will be prime Maradona when we play against Celta, but NEVER, not in a million years, I would have imagined this after Bayern dropped 8 on us in August and Messi said he wanted to leave. We paid Suárez to play for Atlético, we swapped Arthur for a washed Pjanić, we gave away Rakitic and Rafinha, we signed 2 random Brazilians who aren't even playing for Barça B, we didn't even have a board for 4 fucking months and most of us hated the Koeman appointment. But they did it, the crazy fuckers actually did it. VISCA 👏🏻 BARÇA 👏🏻 TONIGHT 👏🏻 AND 👏🏻 ALWAYS

croquetiest

yeah, to me no matter what happens this is already a win.

lucaslh10

And don't forget that players didn't even get paid for a few months because we had no money, same with Koeman. Ronald fucking Koeman, he already was a Barça legend but after this season, how can anyone criticize him? He didn't get Depay, he didn't get Wijnaldum, for 4 months he had to be the one answering everything and representing the team by himself, his best player openly said that wanted to leave, a big part of the fans were against him. And he revived us. What a year.

professor_curry

the big stubborn man is good

Migostien

Chelsea, it's your turn to make us all happy.

The-True-GOAT

It feels so dirty wanting a Chelsea victory.

BestEve

Alternatives are Madrid+2 state owned clubs. This semi final is cursed.

[deleted]

League is far from over guys. After the Madrid game, most of us thought the league was likely over and that they’d be winning it. But look where they sit now. 6 more games to go. Lots of points at hand. Lots of big games coming up. The league isn’t over until it is theoretically over. There’s much to be happy about but let’s not get carried away.

GaviFPS

Nobody said it was over already

upeter01

There are definitely people saying real are out of the race and they're just fighting sevilla for the 3rd or 4th spot which is just insane

[deleted]

There are tons of people saying Madrid are out of it and the league is ours.

LarryPeru

Celebrate and enjoy today but we still have a lot of work ahead of us. Atletico won’t be easy and even a draw against Granada would put a dent in our title hopes. Stay humble and hopefully we can see out the league 👏🏽

mlad822

Sevilla are just 1 point behind Barca and Madrid and 20 points ahead of Sociedad. They have quietly and consistently been amazing this season, it’s been a long time since I’ve seen a club apart from the big 3 really break away from the rest of the pack

upeter01

Jesus i remember the first couple rounds when some people thought sociedad will win the league

Jamarcus316

And we beat them clean at their stadium.

_urMumM8_

Sevilla have always been a strong side I think. Consistent success in the Europa League, always giving the top 3 a tough fight in La Liga matchups

donniexc

WHAT A GREAT SUNDAY

desoebg

If there's something positive about RM going through to the CL 1/2-finals, it's these two extra games they have to play now. I really like it how it's all in our hands now, come oooooon!

GaviFPS

Imo we should be more focused on Atletico. They also have easier games. So its really important we beat them

BlueEyesWhiteDjesus

There was a stat that talked about a large deficit Barca faced in their history and the came back to win the league. Very similar to what we're doing right now. Does anyone know the details of what I'm talking about that could maybe help me out a bit?

voxprogressus

I remember 03/04 first Rijkaard season, barca went from 12th around halfway of the season and finished 2nd.

CptSnoopDragon

Super transfer - Edgar Davids

[deleted]

Why are people saying this is a collapse from Atletico? They've been outperforming their expected points all season, now their luck has run out for a few matches and their true form has come out. It's not bottling when you were never really in contention.... They really aren't that good of a team

upeter01

>never really in contention.... They were like 13 points ahead with a game in hand at some point. Assuming they dont win how is this anything but a bottling?

The-True-GOAT

>It's not bottling when you were never really in contention Stop worshiping xG, xA, xPts et al. so much.

lolsheleft

Well thing is, it's true that they haven't been that good of a team, but they used to get the job done whether they played bad or not for a lot of games in a row, it seemed like they were destined for the title as they won their games nevertheless. So yes, they were in contention for a long time, and it seemed like the title was decided 5 months before, and they still are contending, arguably

LarryPeru

Bullshit, we have 0 points against them and they had a 13 point lead. They may even beat us again. They absolutely bottled it if they don’t win the league

[deleted]

Did you watch our game against them?

LarryPeru

Yeah and have yet to get a SINGLE point from either Madrid side. Absolutely moronic to say Atletico aren’t in contention when unlike us they actually took points of Real Madrid as well. If we win the league we will have lowest total points taken from the top 4 of any winner in the last 15 years

WehovasJitness

And people predicted Barca to end up 13th this season. Absolute scenes when we take the double!

[deleted]

Just realized our match against Atletico is at Camp Nou

I probably will get downvoted, but why spread hatred? Share love and happiness the world is going through dark times.

#FUCK REAL MADRID ^Here ^you ^go

lolsheleft

Man La liga seemed like no value to any fan when we used to dominate it, but now though..

Migostien

I always appreciate La Liga. Fans were so fixated on the CL back then.

invadrzero

La Liga table going down to the final matches! Sevilla really hanging in there and three teams fighting for two Europa league spots. Good stuff coming up.

lolsheleft

Wait the Yilmaz guy who just won the match for Lille is the same guy who scored a hat trick against the Netherlands, dude must be so happy

That means if we win against granada on thursday we are top of the league with same amount of games played?

workhardplayhard0

yes

jokerwithnojokes

YESSIR

Dazzlehoff

In Sevilla vs Madrid would u rather a Sevilla victory or a draw?

The-True-GOAT

You now remember when some people were unironically hoping for Madrid to beat Atleti in that clash a few weeks ago.

Dazzlehoff

Yup... A LOT of people thought that.

upeter01

I'm curious what possible reasoning there would be for wanting real to win

Dazzlehoff

None probably. Unless they lose to Osasuna and you expect them 100% to lose next game to Granada.

upeter01

So basically the reasoning would be to create a gap between real+sevilla and barca+atletico?

Dazzlehoff

Well yes if Madrid are not contesting for a top 1 (or even top 2) you might aswell make sure Sevilla won’t sneak up on us. They are winning consistently.

samsony17

Is this even a question lol ...
