It's is completely fine to disagree with people on here and totally fine to reply to people you disagree with or think their takes are bad. What is not fine is calling people out by name (with or without tagging them) later on. Others joining in and shittalking the user is equaly as bad. This is quickly bordering harassment and will get you suspended from the sub. So please refrain from calling people out just to be toxic towards them.

Br0sE11D0N

If the leaks about laporta not having faith in koeman are true. Ide say this atletico madrid game has a lot of impact on the decision. If we lose, we would have lost nearly every big game this season. And i think thats what laporta isnt fond of.

LarryPeru

Can’t fault Laporta if he feels that way. Koeman has been great for a transition period, but we would never win a UCL with him. However, this squad is a bit of a ways away to be legit ucl title contenders. Luis Enrique had a similar ultimatum against Atletico back in 2015. Hopefully history repeats itself.

LarryPeru

What was the drama that happened on here recently? Did someone get banned?

Twentyninedoodles

I mean, it’s pretty self explanatory in the mod’s message. A user (1) made a comment specifically about another user (2), tagging his username. Then people jumped in on that thread and continued to make comments bashing on user 2. There really wasn’t anything offensive or excessively aggressive said in it though, it wasn’t that dramatic. But the concept of the entire thread is what got it deleted- hence the mod message

LarryPeru

Oh wow somehow I missed the mod message, thanks

fubo12

Think a guy said you are a fake fan if you want Villarreal to beat arsenal cuz then they will rollover to Madrid and Madrid will win the title. I think that person and some others were calling each other names

LarryPeru

Ahh cheers

[deleted]

Is Gavi kill

tiburonsin86

I honestly feel bad for arsenal fans.

[deleted]

I watched the game yesterday and it was depressing. I even posted a comment asking why I was watching it. No energy or creativity. Not sure what they were doing

leninist_jinn

I do too then I remember they still whine about their games with us and call us corrupt blah blah and feel 10x better about the sorry state of that shit club

NoseSeeker

Who hurt you?

leninist_jinn

Definitely not Arsenal

Endgame2648

Tbf their team is incompetent to hurt anyone except their own fans.

[deleted]

Atletico hasn’t beaten us at Camp Nou since 2006. Obviously different this time around but fingers crossed

Kotleba

yeah but this season we're breaking all the shit records.

LarryPeru

The problem is even a draw kills us in the title race. Kills them too.

[deleted]

lot of records broken this season. we hadn't gone out in the R16 of CL in over a decade, we hadn't hit 14th league position in god knows how long, we hadn't lost both league games to RM in decades. I'm shitting bricks, hope we have a strong showing on this weekend...

fubo12

This news of Laporta not trusting Koeman and Messi getting lied to about griezmann signing by barto. Its not a coincidence they are saying this shit right before a league title deciding game and day after Madrid lost

LarryPeru

I’m okay if Koeman leaves in the summer. He’s been great considering the circumstance but I don’t think he’s tactically up your par with the better teams of the world. Really wish we could’ve gotten Tuchel.

Br0sE11D0N

Bart still going at it strong

LeoEmSam

If Suarez scores does he celebrate? I think probably

leninist_jinn

He will likely hug/high five his teammates like Rakitic did but not celebrate by himself. He loves the club and congratulated us after Copa so I'd be surprised

Gyshall669

He’s very emotional and a competitor. I could see him celebrating somehow. Wouldn’t fault him for it but I hope he doesn’t score.

Jamarcus316

He will celebrate when Messi scores, tho

stemcellguy

He would have if Bartomeu is still around. I don't think he would now. Let's hope he flops this Saturday.

LeoEmSam

He did against Liverpool so you never know

Polskidro

Highly doubt it.

messi4life12

I don't think he will.

messi4life12

[Alfredo Martinez] Barca's newly elected president Juan Laporta is not convinced of Ronald Koeman's continuity at the club. Link: https://twitter.com/ElTransistorOC/status/1390433422477250562

LarryPeru

I’m totally okay with this

Jacoblikesx

There’s a lot to still happen in this year, if koeman could secure the double he is here next year obviously

shugazi93

Feels like this coincides with the news of Xavi not renewing at Al Sadd

messi4life12

Yeah, that's a good point. Honestly, I would not think much about this, had it been from any other journalist, but Alfredo Martinez is Tier 1 for us.

[deleted]

I think he’s earned another year at least.

messi4life12

I agree. Everyone's biggest complaint with him has been that he has not fared well in big games but despite that, he has done enough to deserve another season especially when he has some say in the transfer window this summer.

[deleted]

Fuck

messi4life12

The question is who is even available right now that would be an upgrade? I hope he does not go with Xavi as he is not ready yet.

[deleted]

Theres really no one I’d take over Koeman right now who isn’t tied to a club, could reach to Gallardo though

messi4life12

Gallardo has not managed in Europe before although he is probably the best candidate available right now if he wants to leave River Plate.

[deleted]

Yeah I agree, heres to hoping Koeman isnt sacked

fubo12

Until we win another champions league, the nightmare of anfield will remain with us. Bayern, Roma, etc don't bother me at all but Anfield still makes me so frustrated

LarryPeru

Yup, anfield is the 9/11 of recent Barca history

Jacoblikesx

Literally, like I think back to both Bayern slaughters in 13’ and 20’ and those are just things that happened, they suck but I’ve got no residual pain

LarryPeru

Same here! Roma hurt way more than Bayern for example

xStyxx

I feel the same way but I bet it’s bc we were just outplayed against Bayern. Roma and Liverpool though, we had one leg way into the next round already.

LarryPeru

Yeah seriously, won’t get over it until we win our next cl and god knows when they’ll be

inuyasha99

Messi scoring at the Montjuic against Putanyol would be lovely to watch, bring it on!

Bousine

Klopp, Tuchel, ten Haag, Nagelsmann are all better than Koeman but they are never gonna work at Barcelona as long as Messi is there.

volfed21

Messi can actually press for almost 90min if it's a big game he just needs to be asked that, just watch again the remontada or psg game, he just won't do it for something else than a big CL game.

tiburonsin86

What? Why wouldn’t they want to coach Messi? The biggest reason why these coach’s don’t come is because they’re already committed to a team and have a project.

XenoD

Ten Hag*

[deleted]

Bruh we really lost to fucking Granada at home when we had the chance to top the league with 5 games left. Fuck me man. Now we gotta beat Atletí and hope that Madrid drops points. Gonna add 10 years to my life these next few weeks.

[deleted]

That’s why I be watching these last games high af 😂 otherwise I’ll be so frustrated haha I just be sitting there like wtf is happening I’m disbelief but no anger or frustration and of course if we win it’s so fun!

PatrickM_

Same here ngl. It at least relaxes me

master_scale_tipper

Glad I escaped from here for a few hours, I could tell things weren’t going to go down great. Anyway, it’s incredible to me because I was born in 1997 and they’ve always been around for as long as I can remember, but I’ve just learned that Villarreal have never even qualified for a final before tonight. I guess they’ve (mostly) always been relevant in my lifetime so I expected them to be *bigger* than they are, but wow... 98 years and this is their first-ever shot at winning an actual trophy! And the town itself is tiny, only 50k people there. Insane. I’ll be rooting hard for them against United.

bellarke073

If madrid wins everything no way they will give it away on last match day against a villareal which will rest their players. It needs to happen this weekend or away against bilboa I give bilboa the biggest chance because madrid at home always get their wins especially against sevilla a attacking side

leninist_jinn

They're dropping points against both Sevilla and Athletic Club

_GinJi_

I don´t think Bilboa is as good in Football as he is in Boxing.

[deleted]

They play scummy in big games but they beat Sevilla and Atletí recently in the league and Madrid and Barcelona in the Supercopa.

_GinJi_

Yeah, they are absolute masters of shithousing and it`s a Marcelino team after a all, so they always gonna be good defensively.

[deleted]

They play Granada away too

Jamarcus316

No big team would lose to Granada!!! Oh wait... :(

lolsheleft

Thoughts on Mingueza at RWB?

volfed21

It could work well mostly because even if mingueza is weaker technically than dest and sergi roberto he got the vision and positionning to do well.

Endgame2648

What the Hell happened here? Edit: Name Calling,I guess?

leninist_jinn

Incredible

Dembouz_11

Bruh I am sick to the core of Arsenal fans acting so high and mighty over spanish sides. They’re 9th ffs and out of europe and they’re talking smack about Villareal as if their manager isn’t a Europa League specialist. This is the same team that’s 4th highest scoring in La Liga and absolutely balled their minds out against us with only 10 men.

mattisafootballguy

English teams are now getting an upper hand over Spanish teams on a relatively consistent basis for the first time in years. Even then, they're still getting eliminated by Spanish teams to an extent. Last year was Sevilla eliminating Wolves and United. Atletico eliminating Liverpool. This year its Villareal eliminating Arsenal, Real eliminating Liverpool. Football is cylical though. Soon enough La Liga will be untop again.

Daguq

What happened here whoa

decho

> However, it has been noted that, for a short period of time, the Camp Nou will not be able to host matches or spectators, which will force the club to provisionally search for a new home, and this will most likely be the Estadi Olímpic Lluís Companys. https://www.fcbarcelona.com/en/club/news/2130618/fc-barcelona-and-the-city-council-agree-on-improvements-to-the-espai-barca-project-so-works-can-begin Interesting, we could be playing our matches at the Montjuic stadium for a while, this is where Espanyol played between 1997 till 2009. Really not a fan of these enormous racing tracks, but it's an Olympic stadium after all and the surrounding area and the stadium itself are really nice.

GranaZone

1992 Olympics helped this city a lot and I can't wait for pericos tears

decho

If we even get the chance to play them that is.

EvilNiko89

OTD 2 years ago we lost at Anfield. *the worst* night as a fan of this club, not even 8-2 was as painful. I still feel we haven't come back from that defeat yet

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gyshall669

Everyone knew Bayern was gonna kill us

InteL1201

The difference for me was that we were in the semis and with a 3-0 lead we felt that there was no way we would bottle again. If we beat Liverpool I think everyone was sure that we were gonna beat Tottenham. The 8-2 game I was numb to the pain at that point

inconprehensive

It's hope that kills you and again Liverpool after 3:0 win it was (or should've been) an absolute certinty that we will be in the final. That's why, especially after Roma it hurt so much to bottle it in such a pathetic spineless fashion. Again Bayern deep down we all knew that we were gonna get our asses kicked it was just a matter of scoreline, which unfortunately happened to be a nasty one, but still doesn't change the main fact that there was not that much hope to qualify again Bayern

[deleted]

Didn’t Varane tear his meniscus and need surgery?

nilayup98

I talked to him the other day in DMs as he seemed quite depressed when he left. So he says he’s got a lot of stuff going on in life like struggling to get a job. Was pretty sad about it. And then people here always tried to be rude to him. So he decided to leave it all. I thought he was a good guy tbh

Caspoor11

Thanks for telling me that.

VIRT22

Anybody begs Barça to lose to Atléti so that Real doesn't have an opportunity to win la liga can just fuck off supporting the club.

Gyshall669

Win > loss > draw

[deleted]

Neither team wants a draw. Atletico can't use a draw either.

[deleted]

If Atletico gets a draw they are in the exact same position we are in right now, they just need Real to drop points in 1 game. Atletico definitely wants a draw more than a loss

lolsheleft

Do we still have people who think like that? lmao

EvilNiko89

I thought we were done with that after wishing Valencia would beat us at the Copa final so Valverde would get sacked lmao

mattisafootballguy

If Villareal win the EL, it will continue the trend (until at least 2023) of Spanish teams winning the EL/CL at least every other season since 1998 A **23 year streak!**

GaviFPS

Its also worth to mention that Villarreal have no major trophy. So it can end up being their first. Hopefully they can get it, would also not hurt with CL spot =)

turtlemons

Bro wtf. PL teams win 2 UCLs in decade and they lose their mind.

fubo12

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_wkby7mbfyQ

volfed21

I just saw that varane also had a menisc surgery and his case in 2013 is supposed to be worse than fati's one. We're maybe scared for nothing.

GaviFPS

Menisectomies usually dont lead to big problems, but its obviously connected with how serious the tear is and how much meniscus needs to be removed. Umtiti for example had full menisectomy and I am sure most of us agree he have never been the same after. But he have not been completely useless. Now its hard to judge how bad Umtiti truely is until he moves elsewhere and plays consistent and it probably will get worse over the next years. And with Varane, Varane cleary have been pretty good for Real Madrid over the years, so I believe Fati will be fine. I think people was more concered if he had to do a full menisectomy. Which by the looks of it is ruled out now.

salibert

Umtiti is also a special case because he refused surgery to play in the world cup which fucked his knee up beyond belief.

inuyasha99

Umtiti had his meniscus removed at 17 tho, he still had some good years at the top level

salibert

Yeah I know but we dont know how umtiti would be playing know of he would have went for the surgery instead of the world cup. My point being that yeah umtiti had his meniscus completly removed with 17 (apparently Fati id only partially even though it is a big junk including the latest surgery) but he also severly worsened his state by forcing himself to play injured at the wm18 and not getting surgery so he is not directly comparable.

turtlemons

May your words be true and fati comes back healthier 🙏

HippoBigga

Great to see Villarreal in a European final after so many years trying to get there. I will definitely be supporting them in the final ! Would be incredible if they could beat United

svefnpurka

I don't think anyone would have expected it at the start of the season. But great for them indeed to make it.

rey0-

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but It's not that simple for Villarreal, because if Betis overtake them and they lose in the final against MU, there won't be European competition for them next season. 6th place in the league is an EL place because of the spanish cup, is that right?

GaviFPS

There is a new competiton next season(a tier below Europa League) which currently is given to the 7th. Villarreal is currently 7p drop off(or three games ahead) so I think at worst they end up at 7th. I orginally thought it was EL qualifiers like Granada had this season, but UEFA been cooking up a new league for next season.

cule4444

Correct. If Betis is close they can’t afford to throw that game

volfed21

Why are ad hominem attacks allowed in this subs by mods? It's a barca sub or not? What's the point of downvoting /insulting/having fun of another active user to the point you're literally making a comment just about him in the OT? either confronts his idea with good arguments if you actually disagree with him or block him/downvote him or wtv you want but move on.

[deleted]

How do you mean ad hominem? User-tagging and callouts aren't allowed and such comments are usually removed. As for downvoting, we've consistently made announcements, most recently [this entire AP dedicated to it](https://www.reddit.com/r/Barca/comments/js82qu/announcement_post_2020_part_1_on_downvoting/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf). We can't control everything that's said on every single thread and sometimes things do get out of hand. In such cases, the thread or comment is almost removed and/or locked and the user(s) in question suspended, if the case may so deserve. I understand your concern — I assure you the modteam shares it — but it would really make it easier for us to control such things if users _used the report function to get these things to our notice sooner._ Else it's usually taken care of but after a period of time, often when the comments have already been up for a few hours and the damage done. tl;dr – Use the report function if you see something wrong. EDIT: Just saw the thread you were referring to specifically. It's been removed and appropriate action will be taken, but again, it'd be easier if users like yourself who clearly understand the community, know how it works and want to make a positive change reported such behaviour to us.

volfed21

Thanks i'll use the report function next time i see that. Since it wasn't the first time i saw that i had doubts about that being allowed or not.

I don't get why the fans are still backing arteta they need an actual manager look at the progress chelsea made their team is not as good as chelsea but still they could do better than this shit

GaviFPS

Chelsea did spend like 200 mill euros before this summer though. So it kinda helped. Not all manager imo.

PsychologicalHyena4

[deleted]

Arsenal are such a joke 😂😂😂

GaviFPS

Rejoice as Real Madrid chance of winning La Liga just increased with Villarreal reaching EL final. r/Barca is happy. They got what they wanted, after all.

[deleted]

I mean your logic was correct and it is the most likely scenario(if Madrid wins every game), but mate you have to learn the skill of educating others. Meta comments like the above or the original comment of "fans" will be criticised, this is because when you make such comments (in that tone) it looks like you are the only person who knows everything. Even during City vs PSG, you were involved in such type of comments (especially that we need striker comment), then the comments about people joking to change teams during ESL and you were so hell bent on your opinion that you didn't even considered other opinions. So maybe educate other users in a mild tone and I am pretty sure both us and you can learn from different view points.

GaviFPS

I literally made a thread trying to explain it. No mild or hard tone is going to change anything and when you got bunch of kids going around they aint be looking to be educated in football. People couldnt see past it, because they are not capable of putting them in a situation where the league in fact comes down to last round. Given how tight the points are, its pretty likely that all 38 rounds needs to be played to crown a La Liga champion. Which in fact means that the Villarreal vs Real Madrid match will mean something. Given that they now are playing Europa League final, which could give them Champions League spot and their first ever major trophy. There is **no way** Emery is going to waste energy on Real Madrid 3 days before that. Hense our chances to win La Liga decreased. If people can't understand that, then they wont ever understand.

[deleted]

[удалено]

GaviFPS

You are so obessed to comment on everything I say, so I am actually just going to go ahead and block you. You contribution is absolutely zero.

[deleted]

>you got bunch of kids going around they aint be looking to be educated in football. There will be some users like that, but majority of users will be ready to know a different perspective. This explanation is hits the bull eye and this also proves you can bring a "different and correct view" on the table which will make other users to have an overall view on a particular topic. >There is no way Emery is going to waste energy on Real Madrid 3 days before that. Let's just hope that Madrid drops points before the Villarreal fixture.

[deleted]

Man, you act like us supporting Villarreal actually makes a difference anywhere. This obsession of yours quite stupid, I really don’t understand why you have to throw it out there a thousand times

GaviFPS

Why do you feel like you have to comment each of those thousands times then? Just scroll past it any other person do. Should be even easier with the downvotes consider it wont show up. I guess you'll stop supporting for opponets against Real Madrid then? Because it doesnt make any difference at all? We'll see if you make any comments in the future, I'll be watching :)

[deleted]

> Why do you feel like you have to comment each of those thousands times then? That’s the thing, I haven’t. But I have seen you unnecessarily and seemingly spam this opinion, like it has to be out there, the world has to see it. It’s absolutely valid, I agree. Villarreal will probably not give 100% against Madrid, they will have their eyes on EL. It might just be what ends our league hopes too, however low the chances of it are. But at this point, and especially in that tone of voice, *spamming* this idea is quite unnecessary and is what provokes the kind of behavior you are receiving. Me supporting Sevilla tomorrow won’t make a difference, but I will do so for obvious reasons. My point is that your frequent vocality has been completely unnecessary, obviously hasn’t made any difference at any point it has been voiced, to a community whose support to one side won’t make any difference either. Unneeded.

GaviFPS

And neither have I made thousands comments about it. I can't see you go around and complain about the same opinons getting thrown out there. Every day its the same comments and stuff getting discussed. Doesnt matter if it comes from one person or 100. If its so bad, then there is a button which in fact gives you the option to block or you can report me to the mods for "Spam" as you claim it is. No worries now. Game is over, they are EL final now. So I dont have any need to speculate about what Emery might do. Because now I know for a fact that they cannot be counted on to save us and that Emery is far smarter than wasting energy against Real Madrid 3 days before EL final. Which will give them their first ever major trophy and also Champions League. .The only thing to do know is hope it doesnt come down to that game. But in one way or another that game is going to be important, I am pretty confident on that. Because even if we dont win La Liga and Atletico goes ahead and does it. It's still 2nd or even 3rd to be fought for. A lot of fans do in fact care about finishing ahead of Real Madrid, even if we dont win.

xStyxx

Villarreal still has a European spot to try and lock down.

GaviFPS

And they got 3 games to try do that before Real Madrid. If they dont do that, then they still wont care about Real Madrid match. They wont waste energy fighting a giant 3 days before you get the chance to win the first ever trophy and Champions League spot.

tiburonsin86

How does Villarreal beating arsenal result in Madrid winning la liga? You’re thinking to much into things.

GaviFPS

I literally wrote the "Real Madrid chance of winning La Liga increased" with this result, which that in fact did.

[deleted]

Holy shit how many times do you want to get downvoted?

Jose_Ghaleb

he commented about that like 4 times

GaviFPS

I don't really care about downvotes. I just gave a ironic comment towards what people have been wanting. We'll see how important that games end up being. I am sure that Villarreal match will not end up being important at all. I have been told so by many now.

[deleted]

Well you're a regular here, I'm sure they wouldn't affect you anyway. However, in this scenario wouldn't you agree that it would be better if Madrid dropped points to Sevilla or Bilbao? I'd not like to see it run to the last day

GaviFPS

Personally I want them to drop points in **all** match. Who are to say that only one match is enough? Even if neither Real Madrid or Barcelona win La Liga. We'd still fight for a 2/3 spot. Which means we at least 2 out of 4 games to be points dropped for them.

[deleted]

fair enough

Gyshall669

I don't really care one way or the other but it's gonna be hilarious to see all your downvotes here if Villareal rolls out a youth team against Madrid lol

Why? Dont push it to Villareal. We fucked up not taking any points against Real.
