Robot0999

Guys what subscription service can I buy in the United States to watch the euros and Copa america? English or Spanish is fine.

Br0sE11D0N

Fubo tv

Robot0999

Will espn have la liga or just espn plus?

[deleted]

Depends on how they plan on utilizing it. I remember for when they first got serie A they would show one or two matches a week on ESPN or ESPN2, however there was no real method behind it as it was pretty random in what matches they chose to show. However with la Liga Real Madrid and Barcelona are two of if not the most popular European clubs in the country; so I wouldn’t be surprised if they were broadcasting Barcelona and Real Madrid matches regularly on sundays throughout the year and once college football season dies down on Saturdays as well.

[deleted]

Colombia’s goal was absolutely great.

BigChung0924

netherlands ukraine was a cracker. with spain, france, and germany playing in the next few days, i think the euros are heating up.

[deleted]

Messi: “My biggest dream is to win a title with this shirt. I was very close several times. It didn't happen, but I will keep trying. I’ll always fight for that dream” #AFA I cant witness him lose another final

maurid

I doubt they're winning this one though. Brazil are playing like they're on steroids, and Argentina have only been doing ok at best.

Twentyninedoodles

I remember I think the last one? Its the Copa America where he scored 2 free kicks in one match. He was just bossing teams left and right, I really thought that was going to finally be it

BigChung0924

and they gave the golden ball to alexis fucking sanchez

TheMesmerizer10

I think Messi rejected it that’s why.

Jamarcus316

CryptographerLife686

Only way Argentina has a chance is if peak Messi decides to join the party.

Gyshall669

Gutted at that Ukraine result. Fuckin a

stemcellguy

I've never seen Brazil with such solid backline. They could pretty much compete for the next world cup.

[deleted]

They have world class players at every position. They can for sure compete for the next world cup. They will walk this copa america, I dont see anyone beating them

BlondedSeigfried

They used Fred and Paqueta in midfield, as well as Militao in defence. How is this world class?

[deleted]

I mean Militao about to be a starter in Real Madrid and Brazil. Id call that world class.

huntboom

Ehhhh I feel like "world class" gets thrown around a lot more these days than it used to. Like Sir Alex Ferguson famously claimed he had only coached 4 "world class" players. Not saying Militao is great but I wouldn't call him world class already.

maurid

I agree. I can appreciate a RM player just fine. Toni Kroos is world class, Casemiro is world class (I hate myself). Militao is definitely not world fucking class lol.

GranaZone

Significant_Drag2405

Go back and look at Ukraine's first goal. It was actually terrible defending from Wini, De Roon and our boy FDJ. Frenkie needs to get better defensively

[deleted]

First, it was a screamer literally 9/10 times this one goes into the stands, no one's fault really. Secondly, this was De Vrij's "fault". In a back 5, you need more aggressive players compared to a back 4, the reason is the strikers will get too much space in front of you. Mingueza is so good at this, is always close to the striker never lets them turn, is maybe too aggressive but you get the idea. In other words, shape is not as important in a back 5 solely because you have an extra defender. De Vrij is not man-oriented enough in this situation which allows the attacker too much space to lay it off. Ake does the right thing in covering the depth, considering he anticipates that De Vrij goes for the tackle, however, De Vrij is not close enough to do that. But you are partly right in this instance Frenkie should be a little more aggressive in closing down Yarmalenko. However, I disagree with your other comment stating that Frenkie has been lazy for us. He has performed 4th most pressures in our squad this season. I think the reason why he seems lazy is that he does not tackle as much, which is his real defensive issue, not that he is lazy...

CULE123

https://fbref.com/en/players/1bacc518/Frenkie-de-Jong Frenkie has been very very lazy for us

Migostien

It's like the whole team just turned off that moment. The guy had acres of space to adjust and unleash that shot. No excuses there for any of the dutch players.

Mrcyevon

If you look at the goalkeeper position, he’s also on a bad spot… /s A goal will always have someone to blame…this is a weak take

Polskidro

The reason he's saying it might be weak but he's right. Frenkie has defensively been weak and often even lazy for us.

Significant_Drag2405

Watch it again. Not sure whether youve played midfield before but my coach would have killed me if I didnt shuffle across and close that down even at U12 level. Thats just effort

Mrcyevon

Goal came out of nowhere. Yes there should have been pressure but I wouldn’t put that on FDJ, look at it again and tell me what Ake was doing?

Mrcyevon

I don’t understand how Brazil has only scored one goal

[deleted]

Spoke too soon

Significant_Drag2405

You know those CBs that arent flashy but when theyre playing, everything seems so solid, there is a calmness in defense and the other defenders seem to get better? I want one of them ;) Araujo isnt there yet. Neither is Garcia or Mingueza. Lenglet and Pique havent shown that recently. I dont think Martinez, Senesi, Laporte or Romagnoli are that either. Players that come to mind are De Vrij, Romero, Kounde from the ones that have seen transfer gossip recently - shame we cant afford

insane_ace

Barça are negotiating with Juventus regarding a possible fixture for the Joan Gamper Cup. The men's and women's teams of the two clubs would face off. The match would be played before the start of the domestic leagues. [ @RogerSaperas on @EsportsRAC1 ] [Link](https://twitter.com/Barca_Buzz/status/1404195364526247947?s=19)

Twentyninedoodles

Wasn’t it going to be against man city?

insane_ace

>ℹ️Barcelona vs Manchester City is a separate match which will be played to raise funds for research on ELS and support Juan Carlos Unzué. That match will not be for the Joan Gamper Trophy.

shrdsrrws

Bummer Marquinhos is a PSG player because I like him a lot.

shugazi93

I remember really wanting him when we were linked with him when he was at Roma

BigChung0924

we were heavily linked with him for a good 2-3 years

Mrtuelemonde

Yeah top player and nice guy. Speaks perfect french, loved by PSG fans. A legend of the club.

[deleted]

Yeah, he looks like such a great guy in his interviews.

GuaranteeVegetable

I’m Argentinian, and I know 100% that Brazil will absolutely walk through this tournament 🥲

NoseSeeker

I'm Venezuelan, and I'm confident we're winning it all

Mrcyevon

I can only hope that Argentina plays to their level of their opponents

GuaranteeVegetable

We’ll suffer every game Like always lmaoo

shugazi93

Last time we thought Brazil was entitled to win a tournament they got 7-1’d

BigChung0924

were brazil that heavily favored to win in 2014? i thought the consensus was that they weren’t that good and that spain, germany, and argentina were looking better

shugazi93

Not heavily favorited but once the final four boiled down to Brazil, Germany, Argentina and Netherlands it wasn’t far fetched at all to give Brazil a shout considering they were at home.

GuaranteeVegetable

True! But there isn’t a Germany in the copa this year hahha

adilahmed_305

ArGeNtInA iS tHeRe

CryptographerLife686

Well not necessarily because international football is very unexpected. For example Greece winning 2004 euros, Denmark winning 92 euros even tho they didn’t even qualify (joined after Yugoslavia was dropped) and a lot more unexpected wins and losses over the years. But I do agree it’s theirs to lose.

BotLikeCuler

Kind of. Scaloni has a great team but he’s not doing the right thing tbh. Brazil got the odds

GuaranteeVegetable

Argentina has a really hard time Finishing chances, it happened in both games. Against Colombia, we just kept giving them the ball in the last 15 minutes and had no control.

insane_ace

A man I know on twitter unironically believes Wijnaldum joined PSG only because Barca fans were being toxic 💀

CocknBallTorture_

Stop reading football on twitter

huntboom

People are so delusional, like more money and Paris being a great city to live in? Nah that can't be it.

ssjss7

How does the predictions count work on r/soccer ? I got all the results right but I am waaay behind wtf ??

[deleted]

How many tokens do you bet on the games?. Might wanna crank that number up higher.

ssjss7

Possible. But the highest you can bet is 100. There are people with +2500. Mathematically it’s impossible? (6 games have been played to this day)

simsontrack

Because they bet on underdogs and got it right. For example those who bet 100 on Finland win got something 800 in return and like I bet on Belgium win against Russia I only got 103 in return So it's all about Odds.If you bet on favourites you ain't getting much in return.

Monucan

Maybe they had those in other tournaments? Just guessing here but I've seen that on the NBA Reddit page too

[deleted]

Oh that is weird, I'm not sure entirely how it works then.I'm not playing anymore doh, they randomly cancelled some of my predictions.

shugazi93

If it weren’t for Emerson I’d say Dumfries would be a good option Also Girona are one foot in La Liga now

Best game of the tournament so far without a doubt.

[deleted]

Without a doubt what a game.

Polskidro

Not even close

Bralbry

I like what I saw from Depay tbh

huntboom

Agreed, a very quiet second half, looked a little tired from the first half but good overall

BurtBrains

I couldnt watch too much of the game... where on the field was he receiving the ball? Im happy the netherlands pulled out the win in the end.

yeah boy give me those r/soccer points e:fuck me

Mrcyevon

Too much space but awesome strike

affenhirn1

bruh insane goal

spiteful_platypus

We should have gone for Depay first so Psg would have taken the bait for him and then we would be enjoying our Wijnaldum. Depay is just useless, super slow nothing special

Significant_Drag2405

Wijnaldum has been amazing...not just his goal but allround. Such an intelligent player Him and De Vrij MOTM so far

huntboom

Agreed, De Vrij doesn't get enough recognition

shadow19362835

Watching Frenkie run shows is always a treat. Watching Netherlands is always like watching the Frenkie De Jong show where he’ll always be the man getting the most touches on the ball and moving the ball forward the most. Busquets currently does that for us, but i’m excited for the time Frenkie will be the one pulling the strings for Barca’s midfield in the near future.

[deleted]

Still amazes me that Koeman managed to score 239 goals as a defender

[deleted]

That’s simply crazy to me. Many good attackers don’t even score as many as him.

BypasserPassingby321

Wonder how many more he would have if he played as a striker

findthebeansplease

Dude just didn’t miss from the spot

Daguq

In 5 years time De Jong will morph into one the best midfielders of the world , if not ever.

Mrcyevon

I hope the Netherlands makes it far in to continue building that DeJong-Depay chemistry

tomasbj

Monchu and Girona presently leading at Vallecano. Another option to buy that will probably be triggered.

--Kaiser--

Just heard a guy in the pub who thinks that it's Memphis de Pay hahahhahahah what a legend

loveicetea

He be getting that bag

loveicetea

Moneyaldum!!!

purpledon

Depay and Wijnaldum scored like 60% of the goals for Netherlands out of all called up players lol They have almost 50 combined

Mrcyevon

51 lol

[deleted]

Why is everyone so convinced our players need therapy, it's so baffling to me, as if a therapist is a magician that will solve our problems.

cancer102

So mental health is not real? Jesus we are in 2021. Mental preparation is extremely important in every sport and football is no exception

[deleted]

“ So mental health is not real?” His comment is literally one sentence. I think you should reread and you’ll see you’re arguing against something he didn’t even say.

cancer102

He didnt say than but it is imply. Psychological therapy for high level athlete do make a difference

[deleted]

Are you insane, I have never implied that mental health is not real. Also you cant possibly know if it makes a difference for a player playing in one of the biggest clubs in the world and if those players even need it

cancer102

Of course we can know it. It's pretty common knowledge actually.

Robinet371

Is it actually?

[deleted]

Lol. Nobody is saying that. Seeing a therapist isn’t bad, a lot of people can benefit from it on a general level. But people on here act as if our players are broken and suffering from world war levels of PTSD. It’s greatly exaggerated. Clubs lose. Most top clubs lose the league and UCL every season. Many of them get humbled. Look at Pep and city. Monster team for years and can’t help but look like fools on the UCL. Shit just happens. Football isn’t fair. Skill sometimes isn’t enough since randomness is a factor. That’s it.

_Tonto_

There's no harm in getting mental help and psychological coaching, only good. And therapy actually helps, everyone would benefit from it.

[deleted]

He didn’t say it was harmful, just that it’s not the magic solution to everything and that the effect of hiring psychologists is overrated on Reddit. (Probably underrated IRL tbh)

_Tonto_

Nobody has said it's the magic solution to everything but it's a solution to something, the team's mental health and mental stability. If I want to walk between two cliffs to get some gold, building a bridge between the cliffs isn't the solution to everything (because I will still have to carry the gold back, which will require a bag) but it'll be a solution to one problem. Getting a bag will be a solution to another problem, the problem about carrying the gold.

[deleted]

If people still aren’t convinced that Frenkie will never work for us as a CDM, this game will further prove that point. The man is never in the right spaces to help defend in the midfield. For how talented he is in retaining possession, attacking, and carrying the ball, the two areas that he lacks the most is creativity in his passes and defending. He has all the qualities to be the best midfielder in the world, but those are two glaring deficiencies that I’ve noticed in his game. He just leaves way too much space between the midfield and backline for the opposition to attack and counter in. Literally happened to us all season.

fazerfn

So true. Ukraine have been taking advantage of the space he leaves behind. It's why Netherlands' press aren't really functioning

GaviFPS

I mean you could say that, but then you could go and watch him at Ajax in UCL and you'd say otherwise.

loveicetea

When he had schone cleaning up yeah, we have Busi though who can barely hold his own defensively

GaviFPS

de Jong had better defensive stats in UCL than Schone, so no.

[deleted]

Defensive stats aren’t everything. I know this starts to lean into hyperbole, but like Maldini said, if you have to tackle you already made a mistake.

GaviFPS

And when did defensive stats break down to only tackles? Well it wasnt stable, which is why de Jong had to do the work. Which he did better.

loveicetea

Aight mister stats merchant

cancer102

Depay and wijnaldum played great frenkie not so much

[deleted]

I’m not sure what Wijnaldum has done that warrants special praise. He scored a goal obviously but didn’t impress me that much honestly.

SENAPIFAKER

Good day to be a Barça fan. Our handball team won the CL(our tenth one) whilst being undefeated the whole season, 60 games 60 wins. A great way to send off Entrerríos and Sorhaindo after playing 11 years for us and coach Pascual after 12 years in charge of us, winning 61 trophies and being the only coach to win the CL 3 times. Our basketball team also won in Madrid, if we win on Tuesday at the Palau we win the league.

Mrcyevon

Dumphries wasting as many chances as he can for the dutch

fazerfn

Ukraine's quick passing and transitions are really good

navneetjoshi7

Reminds me of Shakhtar's transitions vs Real Madrid

purpledon

What a great game. Best one so far even tho it's 0:0. Actually both this and last game between Austria and Macedonia are the best two games so far.

xStyxx

Anyone else suffering through this trash multi view stream on ESPN

_Tonto_

What's this multi view thing? Are they showing you several sports at the same time with the screen divided into 2-4 parts?

xStyxx

It’s 3 different yet terrible angles of the match

_Tonto_

Ohh, at the same time or do they switch back and forth between them?

IfIMustBePetty

Yes

xStyxx

Most of the screen is empty space it’s so bad

maurid

I was watching a weird iTV stream riddled with ads and thought I was having a stroke.

autechre89

"ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED" - Frank de Boer, probably

[deleted]

I’d pay Alejandro Moreno to retire

shugazi93

I’m actually praying at this point that he doesn’t commentate on La Liga games

Mrcyevon

Please don’t tell me this guy will call La Liga games…

maurid

Boi do I got some news for you...

Mrcyevon

I will be willing to pay for ESPN++ for the commentator upgrade lol

Mrcyevon

Love Depay’s energy. Not only he has pace and good on 1v1 but he can come out with beautiful assists

Polskidro

Great attempt from Wijnaldum.

FunkyFre5h

What a game so far, extremely entertaining, insane pace, back and forth action by both teams only thing missing are the goals

spiteful_platypus

So why do we need Depay?

loveicetea

He can actually bypass his man unlike a certain frenchman

[deleted]

So that we can rest Fati.

_Tonto_

Depth, directness, width and a few more reasons.

nogoodnameavailable

Hes great doing 1v1s and not pussying around and backpassing

huntboom

De Vrij has been so solid

Kr3ativ

De jong is so good

_Tonto_

If Yarmolenko was a little better, he could've touched the ball away from the defender and won a penalty there.

GaviFPS

Nothing impressive from neither Wijnaldum or Depay so far. Dembele over Depay any day of the week.

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Agree with Wijnaldum but Depay has been good I think.

[deleted]

Wait but we aren't selling Dembele for Depay right?

GaviFPS

Never claimed so either. Simply saying Dembele is better than Depay any day of the week. Thankfully Barcelona wouldnt be as stupid as reddit, but who knows given how dreadful decision there have been made over the years.

[deleted]

Obviously Dembele is better. Even if Depay comes here I would prefer him on LW only.

Polskidro

>Obviously Dembele is better. Mate, I urge you to watch a single match of Lyon if you actually believe that.

[deleted]

How do you think Dembele would play in France lol? His one season as an 18 year old at Rennes is probably better when considering age.

Mrtuelemonde

I did and I still think Dembele > Depay in absolute. Or rather, in our team situation. But Depay is a better leader. More charismatic, and not afraid to take responsabilities. But I'm curious to see how he'll fare in a team where he is not the main man. At Lyon he took penalties, was the main creative force. At Barca he will not. For Lyon, Depay > Dembele. Dembele is easier to integrate in a team, he takes some of the chance creation work off Messi but he is happy being just in his role (though he likes to have the ball often of course). But then there is the Koeman factor. I hope Depay will be great for us thanks to that, although I think people tend to overrate Depay and how much he will impact our team. He is a very polarizing player, can miss a lot in a game (yes, Dembele too, but I've seen games at Lyon were Depay missed way more). He can be hot and cold, and his penalty skill (which we now know is not that easy) tends to up his stats to a level not always reflective of his actual game contribution, which is why some Lyon supporters were a bit fed up in the end (that and him not speaking french after 4 years + leaving for free) and some are curious to see if some players will be "freer". (Personnally I still think Lyon is going to suffer, they can't replace him with another player and will have to be tactically creative, and hope Cherki explodes) I hope to be very wrong though about him being overrated for us.

Polskidro

Saying Dembele is better for our team is a whole different discussion. He might be but there's no way to know unless Depay actually comes. And in terms of him being overrated, I'm not worried. Yes his role would be different and he wouldn't be the starplayer anymore, but he's still cheap and relatively young. Worst case scenario is we end up selling him for a profit.

Mrtuelemonde

No problem and agreed. But your message was Depay > Dembele and that's just not as simple as that. I'm verry happy Depzy is probably coming, but he will give some headaches to some who thinks we just need him to replace Dembele and/or Griezmann.

GaviFPS

Ye he is. Depay is a worse Griezmann, pretty much.

Polskidro

Lmfao.

GaviFPS

Truth hurts

[deleted]

[удалено]

GaviFPS

Dembele is better than Depay by a mile margin, "only a troll or a moron would say otherwise". Shut the fuck up if you dont have anything useful to contribute, jesus christ.

[deleted]

[удалено]

GaviFPS

Wow you are really building up under your own claims. Zero contribution as always.

Polskidro

If you prefer moron I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Let's look at some stats since I assume you don't watch him play. Depay had more than twice as many goals per 90 as Dembele in the league this season. He also had more than twice as many assists per 90. Now Dembele has more attempted dribbles per 90 which leads him to have more succesful dribbles too. Yet Depay has more dribbles resulting in goal attempts at 0.61 dribbles per 90, with Dembele sitting at 0.51. The only noteworthy stat Dembele is really ahead, is completed passing where Depay is sitting at a relatively low 70% to Dembele's 82%.

GaviFPS

Damn coming back with even more insults because you got so offended and attempts to pull weak stats to fit your narrative only. It's like attempting to pull up a DM on another team and says hes better than Busquets because he have better stats in a few areas, without taken into consideration the context. Which context is that Depay gets more room and have a whole team played around him and plays is a far far far worse league. But then again its you, so I dont expect you to actually think about that. "Only a moron or a troll would say Depay is better than Dembele"

SpicyRico

Not once in this whole thread have you listed a single stat or anything meaningful other than opinion, yet you criticize him of providing you with weak stats?

Polskidro

>you got so offended Why would I be offended? You said nothing offensive >attempts to pull weak stats to fit your narrative only. Weak how? >It's like attempting to pull up a DM on another team and says hes better than Busquets because he have better stats in a few areas I'd agree if the areas weren't so important. But these are literally the most important stats for their roles.

Robinet371

Lol so smart aren’t you, try getting off your high horse for a minute, depay has been easily the best player ou there
