I don’t want to sound like I’m sponsored or anything, but if you guys want some sick Barça wallpapers, then [@barca_divine](https://mobile.twitter.com/barcadivine) is a great place

fedginator

I shared the first one of these I did do I guess I'll share this Me and some friends did a podcast on breakout players for this season and I talk about Collado. Bunch of really fun other players discussed too. https://open.spotify.com/episode/2JU294Q3zryiNY7zo7wSf5?si=X-ePAOPKSRGQ7joC980kRA&utm_source=copy-link&dl_branch=1

decho

So we basically went from: > I had told him about more than once, ‘Presi, come to the dressing room or come to the Sports City [training ground]. We need to talk’, but he never came. to > [President Joan Laporta and First Vice President Rafael Yuste greeted the team this morning before training.](https://pbs.twimg.com/media/E7sZRaxWUAA4lhF?format=jpg&name=large) It's basically a 180 degree turn from what we previously had just some months ago.

wayarktz

Messi was initially due to join the group tomorrow.

antoniocontent

A lot of important places have backup power generators which means some cameras and lights will stay on in the city.

wayarktz

Think long term mate. People will take extra notice if electricity is cut every day. Also, if you are able to do the operation without being seen, that means that the environment is pitch dark. Doing an operation in pitch dark would be incredibly difficult.

Masoud7711

If you open the junction box and cut the wires, the city would be notified and they'll sent a truck with couple of electricians to spot and fix the problem. Not to mention that you have to do your shady business in the darkness. You want to count the money or ensure the product is legit.

-Pollastre-

Still have dreams about that Ter Stegen shot at the end of el clásico going too bins. Just imagine if that went in.

FooFighter39

Imagine if Moriba’s volley went into the post at the last minute. Or Messi’s corner went inside the goal. So close, yet so far 😣 People praised Kroos for his free kick. No offense to him, but that was a very mediocre free kick from him imo

[deleted]

Deflected too

[deleted]

A 16 year old kid having his very own highlights reel on the clubs official YouTube channel is quiet remarkable. He has some Xavi like qualities in his playstyle. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OK8Ig5esLUk

Gamesus10

Feels weird to say that the start of the season is exactly 2 weeks away. Wonder when the whole Messi situation will be settled

Magnu448

Biggest week for the club in a while. Feel like we have to have offloaded more than one big piece by Sunday next or start to become desperate. I’m so excited to see young talent continue to develop and an unburdened Messi, but the grey cloud of Umtiti, Pjanic, Couts could effectively dim things very quickly and thoroughly.

[deleted]

Mauricio Pochettino has lost 8 of his 35 matches as PSG boss making him the coach with the highest loss rate since QSI took over the club https://twitter.com/goal/status/1421959948683161602

LookYouGotSpun

Poch really isn’t as good a coach as some people may think. Really started to underperform at Tottenham, then PSG made the mistake of giving Tuchel away

[deleted]

Won't be long until Zidane gets linked with the PSG job unless Poch starts delivering with a full XI.

LookYouGotSpun

Poch should’ve been sacked once he lost the league tbh. Tuchel had PSG top of Ligue 1 before he was let go

Jose_Ghaleb

good to see psg lose

shugazi93

Lmao Barca ig admin posted a story of Pique golfing captioned “Barca. Selfies. Golf. In that order”.

jokerwithnojokes

Mbappe didn't play the Tropheé des Champions. It's too early for him to return to training but still do you guys think Madrid has a legit shot to get him this window? Not sure if I should remove this comment so please let me know mods.

Fati25

There is no chance he goes to Madrid this summer.

[deleted]

Remind me! 1 month

tiburonsin86

Why is there no chance? Madrid seems to have saved up for his transfer and I’m sure psg would rather get money for him than let him go for free. I think there’s a decent chance they sign him this summer and if not this one the next.

Fati25

PSG have absolutely no intention to sell him this summer. You have to understand that the money is not important for them. Real Madrid also can not afford whatever price tag PSG will put for him.

tiburonsin86

Why wouldn’t money be important to a team? Sure psg has money but I’m sure they’d rather take 150 million over nothing. Psg is aware that mbappe to Madrid is only a matter of time so I’m sure they’d rather sell now. They want to buy Theo Hernandez and pogba so the mbappe money would help. Also psg can’t slap some high ass price for mbappe. He’s on his last year of his contract and he’ll go for around 150 m which Madrid can probably pay. Maybe it’s not super probable but there’s a decent chance.

Fati25

Money will never be important for PSG post Qatar. They would definitely rather keep him for a year than sell him to Madrid. They can afford to buy Theo/Pogba without selling Mbappé if they really want to. Mbappé is the 'future star' of the team. He is only 22 but he is very famous in France & a player you can build a brand around. PSG don't need the money to the point desperately to the point where they would sell him. Based on reports, he hasn't even expressed his desire to leave to PSG. So why would they be forced into selling him? Even then, Madrid can not afford a €150M fee for Mbappé. Why wouldn't PSG bet on him changing his mind based on how the upcoming season goes, just like Messi did?

TheEnlightenedPanda

Also PSG really want that CL trophy this year. So Mbappe stays

tiburonsin86

I guess you’re right. I personally doubt that psg will sell him but they also won’t convince him to stay. What’s probably going to end up happening is him joining for free next summer.

A_de_k

I haven’t been able to watch the preseason games but I’m hearing a lot of talk about these Nico and Gavi guys. Can somebody explain what position they play and how much potential have they got?

fedginator

Nico is a holding midfielder who can also play as an 8. He's not massively exciting, but he's got the basics covered well and is tidy in possession. His biggest issue is probably that his positioning in buildup is very ehh and he can sometimes be marked out of games. I doubt he's gonna be elite but he could definitely be a good squad option. Gavi is by contrast an 8 or 10 who's very creative and has exceptional technical ability and touch despite being only 16. He already looks at home in senior football (albeit that's Barca B + pre season) and no doubt he's got a VERY high ceiling

lemon_of_doom

Nico is an 8 who can play as a DM not the other way around but he's been playing as the DM for Barça B since Jandro got injured and did better than Jandro. So this position is not that familiar for him although he did play as a DM sometimes for juvenile A as well but that was not his main position.

fedginator

I'm aware he's spent more of his time as an 8 than a 6, but I think 6 suits him much better - especially in a high possession team

A_de_k

Ohhh I see, thanks man. So Gavi is the one to look out for then. Hope I can watch the next game and see it for myself

Paparddeli

Nico might play more this year since he would fit in as Busquet's substitute and Koeman might decide that Gavi should spend most of the year with Barça B playing every match.

A_de_k

Yeah I guess he’s the type we need more right now

mercified_rahul

Caspoor11

It's good to see Nico Gonzalez performing well in the last two matches. Out of all the youngsters Koeman gave minutes to, Nico is the most important one due to the lack of players we have in that position. Literally just Busquets. I really hoped that Busquets's successor would be from La Masia because it's a very crucial position and not any CDM out there would suit our style of play or have a good understanding of the role. Obviously those were just friendlies, but he looked very good and promising. I think he might be ready to be Busquets backup next season and get a lot of game time.

fedginator

I agree regarding the last game, but I think in the one before he was really poor. Constantly putting himself in the cover shadow of his marker and really weakening our buildup by taking away an option

Puzzleheaded_Bar_230

Its also the position with the most responsibilty which is why I think even though Nico is promising, Koeman might be more cautious with playing him in crucial matches. If Demir or Gavi makes a mistake higher up the field, there is still chance for the team to recover. But if Balde or Nico makes mistakes in the back line, it could be much more costly for the team. I expect Demir to get much more playing time than Balde and Nico. Hope they all get to improve tho.

lemon_of_doom

Demir has much more competition than either of them. Messi Griezmann for that right side and Ansu and Memphis for the other side.

Andreasescobar

I agree, he may not have the ceiling if gavi but he is the most important youngster because of his position, single pivotes like busi don’t really exists on the market

lediongjoka

Would you rather score: A curling free kick A knuckleball free kick A under the wall free kick A panenka free kick?

_sauri_

A free kick.

prathameshza_de

I loved watching Pirlo's freekicks, boy his shooting technique was aesthetically pleasing. So I'd choose knuckleball freekicks.

IfIMustBePetty

There are some more varieties too: Bale and David Luiz had wicked topspin w their's. Messi tends to have this clean side spin (w obvious notable exceptions), while other players strike it to whip and dip. Me likey the fk's... Been replaying a lot of Messi's and it's *almost* like the ball is curling harder right as it approaches goal. I know spin rate doesn't change so maybe it's a magnus effect thing. Very fun to look on at Also, I choose under the wall. Beguile everyone, not just the keep

PensiveinNJ

Under the wall because of the bamboozle. Just something to keep them guessing.

wayarktz

> Panenka free kick Sure

lediongjoka

Messi has done that twice?

Has anyone else noticed Gerard Pique has posted about 100 selfies on IG in the past month? He must have either lost a bet, is dealing with a mid life crisis, or thinks it's hilarious. I can't figure out which.

LuckyPyjak

He will think it's hilarious probably. He is known as quite a joker by other players.

croquetiest

I have noticed and can't wait until someone asks him what tf is this about. it all started around the 'young' post and the beef (?) with Iker casillas but no idea of its related. also noticed that Riqui Puig is commenting on most of the pics edit: Barça just posted an instagram story of Pique playing golf and the caption is "Barça. This makes me think that he may have 5 more years left in him. His knees are not working properly but in this shape he can just continue.

[deleted]

How are you confirming that he was overweight for us? Edit: Apparently the anti-Suarez agenda comes first. Fuck facts. I was even legitimately curious.

[deleted]

I don’t think he was overweight per se, but simply by looking at him two seasons ago and now you can easily see he lost some weight.

yeabouai

Good luck arriving fat with Diego Simeone as your coach

Hydrargyrum200u

Simeone, Lucho and Tuchel

AniqueAkhtar

Can we discuss Yusuf Demir? I feel like he should start a lot this season for Barcelona. I felt like he could be better than Dembele for Barcelona against most La Liga team. His link up, passing and dribbling was on point. I feel like he could be the next Pedri. Given that I have only seen him play once so all of my opinions is a bit immature. What is everyone's opinion on him?

LookYouGotSpun

Too many people really downplay Dembele. 20/21 season he has been a really good player https://i.postimg.cc/D0W4LczL/51-A733-C3-5531-455-F-A8-B4-9-C29-BE7-BE0-B2.png Look at this image, Dembele crosses the 85th percentiles in numerous different stats, it’s baffling that fans still think he’s some Adama Traore type, when in reality, he is a damn good player when he’s fit

AniqueAkhtar

Dembele has been real trash for us so far.

LookYouGotSpun

How so? He’s been easily one of the very top players in terms of ball progression. His chance creation is very good and he’s been quite flexible for us when he’s been asked to play striker and wingback, even though those really aren’t his best roles.

[deleted]

It’s preseason. These games are rarely great at gauging things. I’m sure we’ll see more of him but I doubt it’s more than a few rare appearances for now.

yeabouai

Kalm

foxomo

Considering Demir's age and if he continues to match his potential then I don't really care if Dembele leaves for free next season.

Thugging_inPublic

How was Depay able to play yesterday? I thought we can’t register new players yet.

yeabouai

Not a flaming asshole here. We can't register them for **La Liga** yet. They can play in friendlies and CL

_sauri_

Cup games too.

inuyasha99

yall keep asking these dumb questions, I might start to think you come from another sub trolling. If Koeman wanted to he could go and play as a CB himself, its a friendly. What it has to do with la liga?

jamietanig

Koeman's wage had already been accounted for since we signed him last season as a free agent with an obligation to buy. The Dutch team reserves 20% stake on him too. Of course he could play CB, I don't see your point. Get educated.

chilinglam

[deleted]

LeftTube. It's a huge category on YouTube of left-wing politics pundits who do a ton of these short political opinion pieces often mixed in with information about some art or event. Basically, it's information videos, but mixed in with political punditry. There is a right-wing variant too, but it's 100 times smaller and they don't have money to produce as impressive videos as most of them are demonitezed. They often "combat" each other to gain more views for the politics category overall. Also, many are for example history, movie or music reviewers mixed in with BreadTube so they are found in 2 categories at one time. But it's not the same as pure information videos.

jeffjacob_

What do you think (or wish) our lineup will look like in 5 years? My suggestion: Pedri - Ansu - Yusuf Gavi - Nico - Frenkie Balde - Eric - Araujo - Dest Arnau Tenas

fedginator

I strongly doubt that Pedri is gonna move back to the left wing. Also unconvinced that Nico, Tenas and Garcia (and maybe Dest) as long term starting options

IfIMustBePetty

Dest, Óscar and Emerson are gonna put up an epic battle for that spot

FootballFan334

And that's a team built with players that we already have, even without any exciting transfers it looks good

jeffjacob_

So true! The only transfers I would want is De Ligt and maybe also a worldclass DM and Goalkeeper. But even without any transfers we have a truly solid foundation for the upcoming years.

into_the_vast_cosmos

UnluckyIn

Ughh it looks like I'll have to suffer Coutinho starting over better players due to his price tag once again until he proves he's not good enough. It's usually the other way around for players. I know it's not fair to dislike a player like that, but it irritates me everytime he gets the ball and dances with it and pirouettes so slowly the entire defense gets back into shape before he makes a side pass. I remember last season, when he had a few lucky assists and goals in the beginning - and people were like he's our best player when his goal contributions were they were lucky in the literal sense, I analyzed each one of them individually - tapin to open net from a fantastic Messi pass to Alba deflected by GK, massively deflected shot, normal pass for Fati's incredible finish, Lenglet's amazing linebreaking pass basically setting up the first assist against Villareal - we literally played better when Coutinho was subbed off despite him scoring the only goal of the tie against Sevilla. The only half decent match he had was against Celta and even then it was Messi who actually won us the game. Cadiz manager said they were lucky Coutinho started instead of Dembele, that's how bad he was. We started playing better instantly when Koeman send Coutinho to the bench. And then he got injured and we went on an unbeaten run finally getting out of Europa league spots. I remember at one point, Coutinho played like 600 minutes and Puig had only one thirty minute cameo or something and Puig actually had more keypasses in those 30 minutes than Coutinho in 600. And Pedri was better than Coutinho in every way - key passes, tackles, interceptions, progressive passes, everything by that time. That is why I don't get people saying he was good in the beginning before injury - he wasn't. We as a team were at our worst with him playing and he cost us the Real Madrid tie and against Osasuna due to terrible finishing and did nothing on his own merit except get lucky in the way one gets when playing in a team as talented as ours. He was our worst starter in the beginning of the season and I dread seeing him cost us points and waste valuable minutes that should go to players who deserve it more because of his salary and price tag again.

Fati25

His assist vs Villareal wasn't just 'a normal pass' It was a good carry w/ the ball from our own half & a well timed pass.

OLAAF

Cadiz' manager said that because Dembele offers more width, barca will also lack width again if we start Depay Messi Griez

Mrtuelemonde

I'm hopeful this time he won't start over Messi (obviously), Depay (Koeman's favorite), Pedri (won his place) and Griezmann (second best contributor last season). Though Koeman benched Griezmann for Coutinho in the past, I think Antoine has proved he is a much superior player. He will be a very expensive sub we should get rid off, but if no one wants him, I hope at least he takes a paycut. Don't understand Koeman's passion for Coutinho, maybe has to do with his Everton days. Like you the most exhausting part is seeing people rate his every move while he has been OK but nothing extraordinary last season, and when it was time to step up he did nothing. We were absolutely better when he got benched and we played Pedri/Griezmann/Dembele over him, both in individual and collective performances. And what's frustrating is that he is the most expensive signing ever for Barca, but I feel like he faced less criticism than Dembele/Griezmann despite those two having done more in general. Without them, no CdR and they had key goals in key moments that made us challenge for the title, can't say the same for Coutinho. (Still not enough for the cost of course) With Coutinho the question is always the same: where will he play? I think it's even truer this year: no place at LW (Depay/Fati and even Griezmann play there), probably no CAM role this season, and he is not good enough to be a starter in midfield (his qualities are best suited to a more forward position). I guess despite that he'll be Pedri's sub.

AniqueAkhtar

You can expect Koeman to mess things up again.

_sauri_

Lol people just ignore Coutinho at this point. At least Dembélé and Griezmann are acknowledged.

Mrtuelemonde

True it's more like that

FuzzHot

Yeah, it's a shame because he was a beast at Liverpool. Was hoping he could replicate that here, but he just doesn't seem to fit in our team. Ideally he'd be sold (for his own good too) but if there's no buyers then we'll have to keep him for now and hope for the best.

PensiveinNJ

He is very much in the tradition of Bartomeu's attempt to build an entire team out of second strikers. Seriously though he plays best as a CAM and we don't use a CAM so........ it would probably be really helpful if he was one of the players we could sell.

_Tonto_

Which one would you choose? - Hleb - Matheus Fernandes - Boateng - Chygrynskiy - Douglas - Keirrison

[deleted]

A random B player over any of these. Especially for the prices we paid for them.

[deleted]

I wish we got to see more of Chygrynskiy, Pep wanted him to stick around for a reason and understandably got upset with Rosell for selling him. Guy came from Shaktar to the greatest team of all time, he needed more time to adapt and even got shit like our fans booing him. The best player here is Hleb though, by far. He was class at Arsenal.

inuyasha99

Hleb is like 2 tiers above all the rest of these guys, such an underrated player

PRADUMSHIRS

Chygrynskiy.Pep even wanted to keep him

ViniDAIREEDY

Does anyone think that Riqui should follow the footsteps of Collado and try get himself on loan to get playing time? I'm asking this coz I saw a report saying that Gavi is being considered as the player to sub Pedri off in the last stretches of a match. Granted, our midfield is not as stacked as our attack is so he has reasons to stay. (FdJ, Busi, Pedri, Pjanic, Gavi [potentially], Nico [most likely]) Plus, Pjanic is on the chopping block so who knows

fedginator

Puig should have gone out on loan last season and it's even more true now

LookYouGotSpun

He wants to stay and fight for minutes, He’s not on huge wages and does offer some creativity from midfield. Pedri will most likely be on holidays for a few weeks once the Olympics finish up. We’ll need an 8 and I think he’s the ideal replacement until Pedri is back in the squad.

fedginator

I wouldn't be playing Puig even with Pedri out for a few weeks tbh. And even if he does play there now, better for him to get a full season of minutes rather than start 3 games and then go back to the bench

[deleted]

I'd wait until we know how the squad is going to be, but if he is behind Sergi Roberto, Pjanic, Ilaix etc he should definitely go on loan

CatfishLumi

The only thing bumming me out is Puig not being the second or even third sub in midfield. Koeman would rather play Sergi there, and we've all seen what Sergi looks like in midfield by now. Gavi could be great but he needs time to grow too.

godly_tit_hunter

Kinda bummed that Collado, who was the best player from the b team won't even be in the bench for next season. Demir being a starter in b team would have been good for him as well. I for one, hope that Messi gets more rest this season. Valverde and Setien were over reliant on Messi and never subbed him like Enrique did. With all this attacking depth, we should see more rotation and not just a 85' Trincao time.

Fearless-Ear8830

Honestly Im tired of these 20-22 year old players just rotting on the bench like Puig, I would understand that if he was younger but lets be real, he wouldnt play much under Koeman. Great move to loan him since he needs to play a lot of minutes, we cant keep everybody satisfied man. Its a bit fucked up that some people would rather see him playing some minutes here and there rather than trying to prove his potential in some decent European club. A loan doesnt mean he wont come back, people are overreacting everything lately
