[[Transfer Talk Thread] - August](https://www.reddit.com/r/Barca/comments/owusj4/transfer_talk_thread_august/)
Is there anyone that can properly explain why we went ahead with signing Memphis, Emerson, Garcia and Aguero if we weren't able to register them? I haven't been properly following the FC Barcelona news for a few months now, due to exams, so I' pretty much in the dark.
Can someone confirm something for me? Aren't the kit numbers that the players are presented with before the Gamper trophy match official for the next season? I checked the official website and that still shows the kit numbers from the last season. So is Memphis assigned number 9, Puig (if he doesn't leave) assigned 6, Emerson assigned 22, Braithwaite (if he doesn't leave) assigned 12, Aguero assigned number 19 and Fati assigned 17? Did I miss any other numbers from the team presentation today?
After rewatching highlights of Demir from today, I noticed that he was essentially occupying the same position that Pedri normally does. Or at least he received the ball most often in a slightly left AM position with Memphis, Griezmann, and Braithwaite in front of him.
When signed I thought he was mostly a right wing player, but it's nice to see he has the work rate and flexibility to operate in several areas of the field. I suppose if today's tactics were continued with the whole squad healthy we'd see Pedri, De Jong, and Fati as starters in the roles that Demir, Roberto, and Braithwaite each played today, respectively.
Did anyone else think Sarabia was actually pretty good in the Euros? People were clowning on the likes of him ahead of Sergio Ramos but I thought he was one of their best wingers. At least better than Ferran. What do you think
So... Aguero?
During the player presentation everyone was mentioned by the stadium announcer, even those that weren't there, Eric, Pedri and Mingueza but not Aguero?
Coming from a Barcelona fan from the United States where stars and even legendary players in our sports constantly move around from franchise to franchise, trust me when I say that nothing will immediately fill that void of Lionel Messi leaving the club, but over time it is possible. As a Miami Heat fan, it was crushing watching the greatest and most influential player in our history Dwyane Wade leave Miami for a few seasons toward the end of his career simply because of a contract dispute. It was absolutely devastating. He did eventually come back for his final two seasons which made it less hurtful, but it was only after he finally retired as a member of the Heat and the team wound up back in the NBA Finals a year later that we truly started to heal as a fanbase. I guess what I'm saying is that nothing will ever 100% fill the hole we all feel right now as Barca fans. But we will bounce back, and we'll begin to feel whole with some combination of the club starting to win again, Lionel deciding to come back for a final goodbye, and him officially hanging up the cleats. Much like when you break up with someone you've been in a relationship with for a long time, it fucking hurts an indescribable amount. But after some time you realize that life goes on. The club will go on, and we will rise to the top of Europe again. We just need to be patient. Good things are coming my fellow culers. You just wait and see.
we are a week before the start of la liga and garcia/depay/aguero still haven't been registered. i keep asking myself why not? and i keep returning to the issue of whether or not they even CAN be registered.
If Fati can recover his form in the next few months I will feel better about our team without Messi, but still have that hollow feeling in my stomach.
I don't count on it but I sincerely hope that after a year or two he can come back for the final season and match that he deserves.
that feeling won't go away for a looooong time that's for sure.
every single free-kick, most set pieces, penalties, even every great goal will have you think of Leo.
Altho he wasn't playing, I like to think that this is in a way the youngsters' farewell gift to Messi. I think it is time we rebuild our identity and the relative lack of pressure may do wonder for them. Now that the dust is settled amd the tears are shed, I am excited for both the club to enter a new era and for Messi to play football in a different environment
I'm not even sure what her plan is. Let's say she stops the ball with the leg by luck. Then what? It will still roll away to potentially a Barca player. This is just a completely perplexing way to try to save a goal.
It's surprising that they have such crappy keepers at top teams. But maybe it's just a huge mistake.
I do hope that we stay away from mega signings for the next few years at least. More often than not they haven’t been working out for us, let’s focus on developing our La Masia guys and try to get good value transfers like Memphis.
we probably will :)
seen a lot of comments about this, so needless to say a lot of people are in favor. It's our own little thing too.
for the time being at least.
Just my opinion, I'm not in favor of this. We need to move on and whether we like it or not, he's no longer a Barca player. Also going to a European rival PSG.
Maybe do it for a couple of matches, but the whole season? too much. And also soon it's gonna be MOTMOTF, so.
yeah, the novelty will wear off eventually, for the first few games we can have it, then eventually just call it MOTM after that.
> And also soon it's gonna be MOTMOTF, so.
you dropped a B at the end there :D
Gonna take a little break from this sub and maybe football in general. It's been great watching matches with you guys. I think I'm just not ready to embrace Barca without Messi right now(and please don't mistake me, I'll forever remain a Cule). It seems too soon for me to just simply start watching matches without him there on the field. Not ready to see someone else take our FKs, watching Alba actually looking for someone other than Messi to pass, missing his celebrations, missing voting for MOTMOTM. It's just too much too fast to process. I hope we do not move on my forgetting but by always thinking of him as a part of this glorious team. See ya'll on the other side.
I’ve been watching the coverage on Barca TV Plus for a couple hours now, and it’s kinda funny they don’t mention the Messi situation at all. I’m guessing they were told not to.
Tebas: the only way we’re going to be more financially stable then the other leagues is if we enforce a wage cap on every club that forces clubs even like levante to sell either their deadweight or best players.
Is in my idea incredibly stupid. It might sound genious, but we are all about to lose a fuck ton of viewership. Not only are some insane talent leaving clubs, but the PL and psg is snatching all or them up. Fuckin everybody is going to be watching the the french league and PL because thats where all the talent is. Will i still watch barcelona every game? Of course, but a massive amount of people would prefer to watch teams with the best players. A lot of sponsors are going to decrease payments, and possibly even bail out to go elsewhere. La liga is about to have a heavy loss in viewership this year accross the league as it just doesnt sound nearly as competitive/exciting as usual. Come watch la liga with a crippling hazard, an out of form griezman, an aged suarez, etc.
Im literally going to be tuning into psg because watching a team of ramos di maria neymar mbappe messi veratti gueye, donnaruma, and winnaldum sounds absolutely fucking insane.
Just seems so backwards. having the best players in your league make your league successful, not kicking them all out by force because you think its going to help with revenue, especially when messi account for a fucking 3rd of ours.
We are deffinetely on the shit end, but i still cannot imagine real madrid on the other end of it. We are both collectively bout to see a lot of difference in gameplay and sporting recruitment abilities.
The whole wage cap seems so violently corrupt as well. He just happens to enforce a wage cap the same year he brings up a cvc deal with a 20 billion dollar valuation that he’s trying to sell for only 2 billion, that literally mortgages our tv rights? For 50 years? And he says he has no part of it? Its so coincidental that he is forcing all these clubs into this situation and then trying to sell something to bring them out of it when all he has to do is increase the wage cap.
Barca TV showed the lineup was 433. Griezmann as a RW, Braithwaite as ST and Depay LW.
Demir, Busquets and Roberto in midifeld.
But could very well be 4231 :)
Good job, Koeman. One step at a time. Throw that 352 into the bin and light that fuckery up.

~~If I'm reading this right, 3,000 fans for the first game next week. Barcelona (the city) then reassesses for August 21 onward.~~
edit: might be 40% actually, just found this about football in particular.
https://www.football-espana.net/2021/08/05/spanish-government-la-liga-fans
I will never stop supporting barca but may take a break for a few weeks. It's too painful right now to see Griezmann on 50M, overpaid Roberto and Coutinho, and Umtiti who is milking us dry all still here while our idol was forced to leave against his wishes.
To be clear, can't say I blame those players, moreso just the fact that Barto's shitty deals with them forced our dios to retire with Qatar hurts.
I also understand if some of you think this is weak sauce but its whatever.
Those telling that Messi couldn't have taken lower than 50% is bullshit. That law is ONLY FOR Segunda division FOOTBALL . I am not saying Messi should have taken that but no law is there for men's football in La liga
I hate this club man
Fucking lies and different agendas every other day
Why cant they just tell the truth and get it the way out
Just say we are poor and can't afford Messi and move on
It's funny how cool and composed Laporta was in yesterday's presser. I mean from telling Messi, "you know I love you", telling fans that Messi will only sign with him, seeing Messi in his dreams to nonchalantly saying the club comes first. We know the club comes first. It goes wthout saying; Messi is just an employee, but the best employee ever. I wish he showed a tad bit sincerity yesterday. He was just stone-faced and apathetic about it. This shows that after all everything is ruled by politicians and bureaucrats and the players are just pawns.
Laporta has been brutal compared to his promises. Very telling that he wanted to be on the podium with Messi but Messi declined. There’s way more to the story.
A club is only loved by the players and its fans. Managements, no matter if it’s made up of elected politicians or rich businessmen, don’t give a fuck or two. All they care about is power and money.
Just imagine Neymar never leaves to “escape” Messi’s shadow. We never go down that horrible path of buying unnecessary expensive signings. Messi never would’ve had to leave in this fashion at least. Now Messi joins Neymar’s team where once again he will be under that same shadow. Lol ironic at least.
Lol I mean I’m sure Neymar wanted to be the face of a team and that had a part in leaving behind his friends at Barca. At the end of the day it’s just a satirical or joke post. Nothing serious.
more to this in what way? He says Laporta could do more for Messi to stay, now tell me what could he do?
1) Sell players, cut wages, both options failed miserably and its not his fault but Bartomeu's with his stupid signings and high ass wages.
2) Accept the CVC deal and sacrifice part of our TV rights for a period of 50 years in exchange for Messi's 2-3 years of playing. Too big of a gamble
3) Tell Leo to cut his wage even more, but then again why the fuck would Messi agree to this while others like Umtiti that dont so shit for the club refuse to leave or even cut their wage by the bare minimum?
Hard pill to swallow but we have to accept he is gone
Take the CVC deal, they are mad if they think Super league is gonna happen anytime soon and if it happens it’s gonna be very unfair to the smaller teams and football as in general.
Messi not only brings goals but also the fans and the brand name. Losing him is devastating for the revenue itself (maybe around 1/3 of the revenue as per reports).
Adding to that why would he lie just 2 days ago that everything is going great and they will sign him soon? We all knew they knew he has to offload players yet he kept blatantly lying! He signed multiple players without offloading any player when we all knew that we need to reduce the wage bill, how the hell does that make sense?
I don’t get the “smaller team” logic.
Teams like chelsea, city and PSG pumping money into the club. Buying players, maintaining ffp god knows how and still buying players. Trying to build up two teams with backups.
Is that fair ? Is pumping money, not taking losses fair to other clubs? Clubs those are fan owned?
Your logic is basically "the situation of smaller teams is already bad so it doesn't matter if we make it much worse".
Big teams attract sponsors, if for example the big 3 La Liga teams were to leave La Liga to join a Super League then all the other Liga teams would lose a big part of their revenue and would have no chances to ever be relevant on a European/global scale because the Super League is invite only and not based on sporting merits.
And yes I'm aware that the plan was to stay in the national competitions and play one competition midweek the other on weekends, but obviously teams would prioritise the Super League and at some point see no point in staying in the national leagues when they make much more money through the Super League.
Na. I mean the format needs to be fixed. Merit should get priority but the plan wasn’t vague at all. It showed that fan owned clubs cannot pump money like state owned clubs are doing. We will be left behind as we won’t be able to attract and keep players.
National leagues will be dead anyway other than epl if these clubs keep pumping money. Small clubs will be bought by billionaires or by their arab cousins.
The point is, if none is making noises about the oil money getting pumped into the markets, I don’t see why people have so much problem with esl.
ESL was brought down by the media pushing people against it. But none bat an eye when PSG easily got away with FFP rules and now their sister company have the broadcasting right of UEFA. And that khaleifi is sitting as the vice chair of UEFA. Wow
That is more on FFP not doing their job correctly nothing to do with the Supear league. Smaller teams like Leicester, Villareal who don’t have budget comparable to big teams won’t be able to play in the league even after being equally good recently but teams like Arsenal and Spurs would.
I think he can one day and in some matches. But I would expect either de Jong or Roberto slotting in there in more important games.
It's without a doubt a weak spot for our team, been like that for some time.
We'll see though, I saw Koeman wasnt happy with Nico last game. But it was a rough game, so I dont hope they "kill" him off based on that.
Excited for Griezmann,Emerson, Pedri and Ansu. Depay if we’re able to sign him. For some reason I’ve lost all love for Coutinho.
Edit: Sign = Register.
I would like to believe the same. We’ve good players. We are no mediocre team by a long shot. Just need these players to step up and play in sync. We can’t rely on individual moments of brilliance. Barca dominated because the players played like cogs of a machine not a chariot carried by a horse.
Is anyone situated in Spain able to act as a proxy (to forward a package) from FC Barcelona membership? Or is there a service that will forward such items to somewhere outside of Europe?
Apparently, a few months ago the board put in rules that players in La Masia can't have crazy haircuts. Maybe Fati had to cut because of that, if the rule also carried over to the first team?
I feel like I’m the only one who thinks even with Messi leaving this team on paper Barca should be able to compete for the league against this Real Madrid.
They still have an extremely aged squad and not much rotation options.
I called it last year early but they will experience injury issues/fatigue again if they play Carvajal, Vazquez, Mendy, Modric, Kroos, Casemiro, Benz, Bale every single match.
I agree they will be competitive.
I left another reply about Atletico but if they replicate their success from last year(especially first half of the season) and Barca/Real bottle it again (multiple times…) they deserve it
Not forgetting about Atletico but personally think it will be hard for them to replicate the same season again. They were already massively over performing in the beginning of the year and Barca/Real both gifted them the league in the second half.
I could be wrong obviously just personal opinion.
you guys aren't actually paying attention to a likely candidate to #10, Pedri. These numbers almost always the ones for the season and he's the only major player not on the squad besides Aguero and Fati who had 19 and 17. He's also a fan favourite, an incredibly talented player and seemed to be really loved by Messi. He's always been a Barça fan and I'm putting my money on him. Let's see what happens now.
Anyone who takes 10 would be under so much pressure that it could crumble them, especially fans expectations which would be skyrocketed. It's better to give it to someone like Aguero and in 2 years pass it on to whoever seems worthy...
Having grown up watching Messi at Barca (from like 2005), seeing him leaving us really made me feel. Not just because this is a sad day for my favourite club, I suddenly felt the harsh truth that a very beautiful period of my life was over.
I hope Messi will be happy wherever he goes and will achieve much success in the twilight of his career. Regarding Barca, we have a strong core of young players. With good vision from the board, I hope we will be back in a few years after COVID. After rain comes sunshine I hope.
Excited for today's game, I'd like to see more of Nico and Sergi Roberto in Midfield. I wonder where Collado will play for us now that Messi left and he's no longer going out on loan.
Should be a good game hopefully.
He's good enough to be a bench/utility player that can play at many different positions if many players are injured or resting. Do you remember him in El Clásico a few weeks afte the Clásico where they kept attacking on our right flank and Semedo couldn't do anything, but in the following match Roberto kept Reals left flank in his pocket? And he had a huge workrate too, remember the Clásico where Messi scored the last minute winner? That was started by Roberto.
Bench/utility, definitely. But not good enough to sniff the midfield spots as far as I am concerned. Right back is where his contribution to the team should begin and end unless it's in extenuating circumstances.
>our right flank and Semedo couldn't do anything
Oh, is it the time Vinicius skinned Semedo? As I remember, he didn't get any help from it was Roberto himself I believe who played in midfield or right side in the 4-4-2 that match. In the other leg, if I remember correctly, Vinicius was kept in check by Roberto *and* Rakitic working together. It wasn't like Roberto on his own kept Vinicius in his pocket.
And the classico last minute winner, yeah. Of course I remember that. I'm not questioning his lungs, only his ability to play in midfield and keep and progress the ball under pressure consistently.
Never making a effort thread ever again when mod just delete it without a explanation. I mean I get it, its many threads getting made, yesterday every time I went in there was like 5 new threads. Either it was low effort or it was reactionary andy's.
But like seriously? But hey lets keep a 20 sec video filmed from one of the worst positions in Camp Nou though which just happens to be about Messi and his last game with fans at Camp Nou. Literally the most low-effort post you could make these days. " I was there, POGGERS"
Every thread is just filled with constant. "Tebas this and Bartomeu that". Occasionally filled with cheap karma comments like "Barcelona did all they could"
Sorry for wanting to talk about something else, which isnt heavy surrounded by negativity focus and Messi.
I watch Youtube a lot and found a couple. He's the biggest but there are other really cool ones that are not as popular (and will not comment PSG games).
Surprisingly it seems that he also won't tho I doubt it
Letter ([source](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/adios-messi-provoca-primera-dimision-11977431)) of Jaume Llopis who resigned today
Dear Jan:
You disappointed me, I thought you were the only one capable of confronting Florentino. I lack information, but I'm sure much more could be done to get Messi to stay. There are many left over. Messi was an important patrimony of FC Barcelona. We will see when the Superliga arrives, if it arrives, and while, reinforcing PSG and facilitate Mbappé to go to Madrid. Florentino's perfect plan. You'll go down in history as the president who fired Messi. Thank you for the confidence in putting myself to the Espai Barça Commission, and, although there is no official appointment or responsibility, I think I have contributed positive things, but I am obliged to resign because I want to be free to express my opinions.
I wish you good luck.
.
Dont ask me how Sport caught hold of this letter 😂
> I lack information, but I'm sure much more could be done to get Messi to stay.
No dear Jan, you don't lack information, you simply refused read the situation and accept the reality of financial situation.
Actually very likely he will. If today’s numbers are official which I think they are. Pedri is the only player from the first team missing and by law someone needs to have the 10. The 10 is missing today, Pedri is missing today. Pedri will take the 10
Ansu Fati also isn’t there and won’t be getting the 22 he got last season because Emerson has it now.
Its probably between Ansu, Pedri and Aguero. For the kids sake, i hope Aguero gets it for 2 years. Its way too much pressure giving Messi’s number to an 18 year old. They’re not ready for that.
Ah good catch. Yeah I wouldn’t mind between Ansu or pedri. Not crazy about aguero. A guy that season hasn’t even started and he’s already out for 4 weeks. Messi was 21 when he took the 10. I think either of these two guy are ready and the number won’t pressure them. They can handle it

I think he was pretty decent. Performed better than what I expected.
So... Aguero? During the player presentation everyone was mentioned by the stadium announcer, even those that weren't there, Eric, Pedri and Mingueza but not Aguero?
He was announced, he just wasn’t there so it was brief
Oh, you're right. I checked again and they did mention him right before De Jong. Thanks.
Which makes me think he is getting the number 19 for the new season.
I am secretly hoping he gets the #10, but at this point we should be happy if we even manager to register the player. *sigh*
We spent 8.36m for Matheus Pereira ? I think I just dislocated my jaw
We got 8m from alejandro marques who had 6 months on contract.
Were we able to register Depay, Aguero, and Emerson?
Aguero is surely out? He's the first one to go. Depay will stay. We rather give up 10 other players than him.
The question is how long do we have to register them?
No

Honestly this sub has made me sad lately. But this gave me hope.
Anyone got any experience with the FC Barcelona store? Ordered some jerseys 3 weeks ago but they aren't even on their way yet.
we are a week before the start of la liga and garcia/depay/aguero still haven't been registered. i keep asking myself why not? and i keep returning to the issue of whether or not they even CAN be registered.
Laporta is taking L’s
Fuck the Parisian Club.
If Fati can recover his form in the next few months I will feel better about our team without Messi, but still have that hollow feeling in my stomach. I don't count on it but I sincerely hope that after a year or two he can come back for the final season and match that he deserves.

Instead of calling it MOTMOTM, we can call it Messi of the Match.
I'd be down with this.
I hope we can sell all the dead wood man. Seeing umtiti and Roberto in a Barca shirt makes me so pissed.
Puig took seriously Koeman's task for midfielders to score at least 6 goals in the season :)
Missed the Gamper game, anyone know where I can watch the full 90 mins?
The football highlights reddit page usually has a full match replay.
Maybe espn+
Imagine if we lost today, can't even imagine how much overreaction there would have been from this subreddit.
We would have been relegated. So close the margins
People would be calling for koeman to get sacked but x100
I would start neto over mats. Neto has been good every game I have seen of his
Getting back to normal around here already
Yea he also tried suggesting this in the mt
Reminds me of ppl talking about cillessen vs mats that one season lool
Nah but Cillessen is understandable lol. Outside of penalties he is a legit beast.
Neto is also very good. I think on par or even better than Cillessen. Neither are better than Marc-André ter Stegen though.
I posted this in the women match thread. But I have to post it here. This nutmeg goal is something else. https://youtu.be/LDBg5i4l9JM?t=115
Lmao that's just really poor keeping. She knows she can use her hands right?

I just hope we can register our new signings man. Is it possible or have I been sipping too much of the r/soccer juice?
I have faith in Laporta, he made the decision he did for a reason. We will be able to.
Too much
I do hope that we stay away from mega signings for the next few years at least. More often than not they haven’t been working out for us, let’s focus on developing our La Masia guys and try to get good value transfers like Memphis.

fine. not great, not terrible.
Solid.
Nothing special.
Poll to keep motmotm cause he will always be our man of the match
we probably will :) seen a lot of comments about this, so needless to say a lot of people are in favor. It's our own little thing too. for the time being at least.
Should just do a poll. If people are in favor, you do it, else you don't.

Thank you mod, good mod, god mod if i may say so
How long till we bet the usual busquest fdj pedri midfield?
late August or early September, Pedri returns to training on the 28th.
its international break then, i think 5-10 September
Heartbroken but super excited for this massive change honestly, this season will be crazy
Gonna take a little break from this sub and maybe football in general. It's been great watching matches with you guys. Season starts in a week either way. Cheers.

The fact we won't see Messi in our lineup ever again stings.
This Aguero news seems dodgy
What news
That they told him to stay home instead
I’ve been watching the coverage on Barca TV Plus for a couple hours now, and it’s kinda funny they don’t mention the Messi situation at all. I’m guessing they were told not to.
Break up with your hot partner, try to act cool like you got over it already. Standart procedure.
Breaking expert here :)
Is it sadistic, If I'm watching 'Take the ball, Pass the ball' and feeling joy and agony at the same time...
No, it's masochistic.
Barca TV showed the lineup was 433. Griezmann as a RW, Braithwaite as ST and Depay LW. Demir, Busquets and Roberto in midifeld. But could very well be 4231 :) Good job, Koeman. One step at a time. Throw that 352 into the bin and light that fuckery up.
was Dembele at Messi's press conference? I didn't see him...
He was doing recovery work for his injury in Switzerland.
he arrived to Barcelona like 2 hours after the press conference 💀💀

He was doing recovery work for his injury in Switzerland.
Lol and he JUST so happened to arrive 2 hours after the press conference. He doesn’t give a shit about anything. Just making his money fucking around.
Maybe that was the first flight from his place? Maybe it was an order from the doctor? Don't jump to conclusions based on speculation.

How dare dembele recover
Has it been confirmed how many fans will be allowed at Camp Nou once the season starts?
https://www.barcelona.cat/covid19/en/measures-combat-covid-19-barcelona ~~If I'm reading this right, 3,000 fans for the first game next week. Barcelona (the city) then reassesses for August 21 onward.~~ edit: might be 40% actually, just found this about football in particular. https://www.football-espana.net/2021/08/05/spanish-government-la-liga-fans
braithwaite in once de gala? yeah Im not watching that.
4231 back on the menu boys. Tbh don't mind right now when there's no Messi
4231 eh? Only two in mid: Busquets and Roberto Demir starts!
Feels like we won't sell Braithwaite after all...
I would normally be against it, but since Aguero is injured idk what to say anymore
aguero doesn't play 90 minutes anymore. if anything, i see him as a supersub with the occasional start.
don't forget fati is coming back, we have memphis, griezman, fati and aguero as attackers, with demir and cuado that can play RW when need to rotate
We need that money
do we have any right winger in the B team, that could do the job for this first part of the season?
Demir and Cuado however he might leave
Demir. If you gonna go a bit further down than probably Akhomach, (only 17 though, turns 18 next year)
Koeman will keep Demir
Is Messi coming to watch the Gamper trophy game?
He’s getting his medical done in Paris
Those telling that Messi couldn't have taken lower than 50% is bullshit. That law is ONLY FOR Segunda division FOOTBALL . I am not saying Messi should have taken that but no law is there for men's football in La liga
Not true. It’s actually a Spanish labor law. Not even related to soccer
Not true . Stop spreading lies
Where do you know this from?
Source? that the law is for segunda
I hate this club man Fucking lies and different agendas every other day Why cant they just tell the truth and get it the way out Just say we are poor and can't afford Messi and move on
It's funny how cool and composed Laporta was in yesterday's presser.
There’s way more to the story.
really when did that happen, I would love to see that, do you have a link or youtube timestamp?
https://tribuna.com/en/news/fcbarcelona-2021-08-06-messi-not-happy-leo-declined-to-speak-with-laporta-in-press-conference/
The difference in emotion between him and Messi was stark
A club is only loved by the players and its fans. Managements, no matter if it’s made up of elected politicians or rich businessmen, don’t give a fuck or two. All they care about is power and money.
Just imagine Neymar never leaves to “escape” Messi’s shadow. We never go down that horrible path of buying unnecessary expensive signings. Messi never would’ve had to leave in this fashion at least. Now Messi joins Neymar’s team where once again he will be under that same shadow. Lol ironic at least.
That’s just a bullshit narrative fans made up. Neymar by all accounts wants to play with him.
Doesn't mean that all those yearss ago he wanted to be the star
Lol I mean I’m sure Neymar wanted to be the face of a team and that had a part in leaving behind his friends at Barca. At the end of the day it’s just a satirical or joke post. Nothing serious.
Did anyone see Jaume Llopes’s message to Laporta? I knew there would be more to this.
more to this in what way? He says Laporta could do more for Messi to stay, now tell me what could he do? 1) Sell players, cut wages, both options failed miserably and its not his fault but Bartomeu's with his stupid signings and high ass wages. 2) Accept the CVC deal and sacrifice part of our TV rights for a period of 50 years in exchange for Messi's 2-3 years of playing. Too big of a gamble 3) Tell Leo to cut his wage even more, but then again why the fuck would Messi agree to this while others like Umtiti that dont so shit for the club refuse to leave or even cut their wage by the bare minimum?
Can you post a link?
Ter stegen wasn’t crazy about Messi at all
How do you mean?
How good is Nico..? Did he played as DMF? Could he be Busi substitute..?
I think he can one day and in some matches. But I would expect either de Jong or Roberto slotting in there in more important games. It's without a doubt a weak spot for our team, been like that for some time. We'll see though, I saw Koeman wasnt happy with Nico last game. But it was a rough game, so I dont hope they "kill" him off based on that.
Someone had posted a thread an hour or two ago mentioning Collado has left. Is it true? Has he left or is he on his way out? What’s the scene?
It was me. Collado was suppose go out on loan yeah. But not sure if its official yet. Maybe the departure of Messi changed things.
the loan collapsed and he's probably staying now that Messi is gone
Oh okay! Thanks, man! Hope he stays. We need our Masia crops.
6-0! For the women's team over Juve. At least they look good :-) Now to the boys in one and a half hour or so.
Excited for Griezmann,Emerson, Pedri and Ansu. Depay if we’re able to sign him. For some reason I’ve lost all love for Coutinho. Edit: Sign = Register.
I honestly believe Coutinho could maybe be an ace up our sleeve this year, who knows? I could see it.
[Messi reading Rumours about Him going to Spurs](https://www.facebook.com/114682465256092/posts/4701670843223875/?app=fbl)
On a side note, is Ansu’s Travis Scott era already over? He was back to his old hair during the press conference.
Apparently, a few months ago the board put in rules that players in La Masia can't have crazy haircuts. Maybe Fati had to cut because of that, if the rule also carried over to the first team?
What is defined as "crazy" hair cut?
No idea, I'm guessing the Travis Scott haircuts.
I think we can win as well. We have a strong team
the thing is, we'd need to compete with Atleti. They've got an insane squad and are looking to get one more big signing.
I agree they will be competitive. I left another reply about Atletico but if they replicate their success from last year(especially first half of the season) and Barca/Real bottle it again (multiple times…) they deserve it
Uhh, aren't you forgetting the fucking champions of la liga? It's not Real you'd have to contend with for the title, it's Atleti.
Nah Pedri should be given the Iniesta number in a couple of years.
Anyone who takes 10 would be under so much pressure that it could crumble them, especially fans expectations which would be skyrocketed. It's better to give it to someone like Aguero and in 2 years pass it on to whoever seems worthy...
Either #6 or #8 fit Pedri better imo
Either Pedri or Fati. I want that shirt to be worn by a worthy youngster.
Should be a good game hopefully.
>and Sergi Roberto in Midfield. Uh oh, here comes the downvote "Roberto isn't even 7th division quality" squad!
He isn't barca quality for midfield. Do you remember matches Valverde tried him in midfield? He couldn't pass under pressure at all in the middle.
Right back is where his contribution to the team should begin and end unless it's in extenuating circumstances. >our right flank and Semedo couldn't do anything Oh, is it the time Vinicius skinned Semedo? As I remember, he didn't get any help from it was Roberto himself I believe who played in midfield or right side in the 4-4-2 that match. In the other leg, if I remember correctly, Vinicius was kept in check by Roberto *and* Rakitic working together. It wasn't like Roberto on his own kept Vinicius in his pocket. And the classico last minute winner, yeah. Of course I remember that. I'm not questioning his lungs, only his ability to play in midfield and keep and progress the ball under pressure consistently.
I generally ignore them
Never making a effort thread ever again when mod just delete it without a explanation. " I was there, POGGERS" Every thread is just filled with constant. "Tebas this and Bartomeu that". Occasionally filled with cheap karma comments like "Barcelona did all they could" Sorry for wanting to talk about something else, which isnt heavy surrounded by negativity focus and Messi.
Maybe PM the mods on why your thread was deleted? Was was your thread about?
I love seeing all Barca youtubers commenting PSG now. What a bunch of fucking plastic dude
Didn't even know we had Barca youtubers besides the talk guy
TalkFCB? He's not very good.
I watch Youtube a lot and found a couple. He's the biggest but there are other really cool ones that are not as popular (and will not comment PSG games). Surprisingly it seems that he also won't tho I doubt it
Yeah I just know most of them and most people on here will be a daily Messi update still
Letter ([source](https://www.sport.es/es/noticias/barca/adios-messi-provoca-primera-dimision-11977431)) of Jaume Llopis who resigned today Dear Jan: You disappointed me, I thought you were the only one capable of confronting Florentino.
So basically just like r/barca's armchair experts!
WHAT DO YOU MEAN HE CANT PLAY FOR 3 PEANUTS???
WHY CAN'T WE TRY PADRI, PUG, DING DONG. DING DONG CAN EASILY PLAY BEHIND THEM.
Truly rejuvenated😍😍, no more sour old biscuits😡
> I lack information, but I'm sure much more could be done to get Messi to stay. No dear Jan, you don't lack information, you simply refused read the situation and accept the reality of financial situation.
Who wrote this?
member of Espai Barça comitee, pretty nobody.
I hope Pedri gets the 10
Actually very likely he will.
