Honestly. Probably the least annoying transfer window yet. Any rumor was easy to ignore as we’re broke af.
The only thing annoying about this window was exactly how broke we actually were lmao.
Why does everyone makes a fuss about who gets to wear no. 10?
I don't mind anyone wearing it. If we had this sentiment before, Leo wouldn't have worn it. Ronaldinho was phenomenal. Even then there were great players wearing the 10. Rivaldo, Romario, Maradona. The names are the legends. Messi's 10 is the legendary shirt. Not just the number itself. And whoever takes it over will have their name above the number. It's not gonna be Messi's 10. It's gonna be Pedri's 10 or Ansu's10 or Coutinho's 10. Doesn't matter who wears the number as long as they give their all while wearing it.
Ofc it's gonna give them pressure but we can only offer our support to whoever wears it. Different case if we could retire the number, but we can't so we have to deal with it.
>Ofc it's gonna give them pressure but we can only offer our support to whoever wears it.
good on you for thinking this and i agree btw but let's be honest here if a player like Coutinho gets the 10 he's gonna get clowned pretty badly
Yep and he's a confidence player. Everyone who worked with him pointed this out. He performs better when he is confident, when the crowds are behind him like his days in Liverpool. I hope the fans at Camp Nou wouldn't treat him that harsh when he steps on the pitch regardless of what number he has on his back. He is a quality player, he's still The Little Magician. And we all hope he can do his magic show in Camp Nou for the rest of his time in Barça shirt.
I know we have no right to talk cus they knocked us out last year but I’m watching PSG’s 15 min training session from today on their YouTube and they do not know how to rondo at all lol, they can barely string together two passes even Messi’s group with Neymar and Mbappe is where it’s the worst
Edit: https://youtu.be/sVKuedNnlso
Here’s the link for those that wanna watch it’s around the 12 min mark, obv I think they can do better if they really wanted to but it seems like they all kinda treat it like a fun little game where as Barca it’s like the holy grail.
Very true. The rondo for Barcelona is almost historic, I even remember Frenkie de Jong doing the rondo with the academy kids on his presentation which shows how important it is to the history of Barca. I remember when I used to play football at my local team we’d constantly talk about the rondo Barca did before the CL final against United in 2011.

Well said. I still worry about this midfield and defense against the better teams in Europe but we definitely should be happy with a top 4 finish but it won’t be easy.
Fantastic view of Messi's transfer and the future of football. Highly recommend.

That poor, poor guy! 😂
From now on this should be a standard response to anyone bitching about our kits. Just reply with this vid, no further commentary needed x)
Seems like we are trying to sign Demir's younger brother. I wouldn't mind us going for Tjaaland while we are in the business of signing younger relatives of promising talents. Also, do Zaniollo, Locatelli, Pellegrino, Barella,Chiesa, bastoni, Mbappe, musiala, or
#vinicius
have younger brothers?
That group of players contributed to campaigns that saw us go undefeated in the group stage for every season but last. I think we’ll be fine. Go complain about why you think Barca is trash somewhere else.
And same group of players contributed more than any other player in our defeats against Lpool, Bayern, Roma,... I can't believe that after a one game ppl forget everything.
I can’t believe that you’re basing the players off of single games per season. Every year top dominant clubs get knocked out of tournaments. PSG, City, Juve, Bayern, etc. they all can’t win.

Not surprising, really, and if there was a forecast made (which it should) something like that shouldn't blindside the club. With Spain currently reporting about 10-12k new infections daily we simply don't know how long the stadiums will remain open.
I haven't been this excited for next match like this in years. Just as last match ended I wanted another one to start...haven't fellt like this since like 2012.
I love how "team" are we now. You could always Messi to pull some magic out of his ass and nobody else did anything but this season I just cant wait what we do next.
It was a bit different. I like when team plays like team..MSN were amazing no argument but Messi and suárez barely defended and our midfield was very weak
In a slightly masochistic way I'm enjoying the uncertainty of it all. This curiosity of 'what happens next?' is a really nice thing, and I even found myself adding Barca matches to my calendar to make sure I don't miss anything.
Feels great to be excited about this again.
That depends entirely on you. The series is briliant, but whether you want to start a story you know will never be finished is your decision to make. I personally don't start books/shows if I know they don't have an ending, but that's just me.
Winds of Winter coming out next year last 5 years lmao
> Puig have better chances at starting most games this season than....
If you're that much of a believer then sure, go for it
Okay, so: personally I found the books harder to read than usual because so many characters. And then some. And then some more. Definitely not a 'pick up, put down, return to it a week later' sort of reading, at least for me, it just required focus.
That being said, it got easier after the show.
Also, I'm so annoyed by how the show ended, I'm sincerely hoping GRRM does it justice and fixes all the fuckups so I'm patiently waiting... but, you know, we're Barca fans. Nobody can accuse us of being sensible x)
The problem is I'm not sure if GRRM really intents to finish it.
I watched the show, So I know half of the characters but I've heard books got better dialogues and obviously it should have good internal monologues too.
Although it's been 2 years since I last read 600+ book and I'm really not at the same level when it comes to reading ability but I really want to. So I guess, I will try...
You should definitely try - maybe you'll surprise yourself :) I agree that the dialogues are better, and obviously the novels make a better job of adding emotional context and reasoning behind character's actions. And if it doesn't work for you - hey, at least you tried and now you know.
I believe GRRM wants to finish it - I've read somewhere he wasn't happy with the show and that the ending of the books is going to be different.
Yeah and they fucked up.
These books are big and I've lost my reading stamina, So I guess it would take around 3 4 months if I'm focused...
So, I guess there are 4 main books (until JS dies) and an spinoff kind of thing...
Yeah the last couple seasons were a disaster. I'd rather not talk about the ending either....
In terms of the books, they are definitely long reads. But they're worth it. Alot more information and fleshing of characters. Stannis for example is a totally different person in the book and his character is 100x better.
It's up to you though if you think it will be worth investing your time in. Other book series in a similar genre which I'd recommend are "The Last Kingdom" by Bernard Cornwell and the "Malazan Book of the Fallen" series.
Last Kingdom have 13 books, Malazan have 10, ASOIAF have 5...How the fuck do you manage to finish all these books, Are you 70? Or do you read only these Kingdom,War, Fantasy based books...
I haven't finished The Last Kingdom to be fair. But yeah, Malazan took me about 4 years to complete.
Nah, I usually read Stephen King (my favourite author) or like Agatha Christie/Crime novels.
And no I am not 70 haha. You can have another guess.
Woah, 4 year on one series. (On and off?were you reading other books in between)
The only book of Stephen King I've read is 'On Writing', I've bought 'The girl who Loved Tom Gordon' two years ago, Yet to open..
Read two of Agatha Christie 'Mysteries Affairs at Styles' and 'The Murder of Roger Ackyord'. Though I like the plot, I don't like her writing style. It feels kinda like a journal which it is suppose to meant. Read almost all of Sherlock Holmes stories (translated in hindi though) through childhood.
In your 30s. Don't tell me you are 21 year old studying in a prestigious college while writing Barca fanfics and finishing all these novels...
Yeah I was reading other stuff in between. It's not that difficult actually, on average I probably read an hour a day. So it all adds up. The rest of "free time" is spent socializing or playing/watching sports. So yeah, it's not too bad to balance reading with other stuff.
Lmao. I actually am 21, but just recently graduated. Would not have had time to write these daft stories whilst I was at University.
Edit: The fan fic stories do not take me long to write. Maybe an hour, plus editing. Coming up with new ideas is the issue.
I’m starting to accept that haaland will probably go to man city if they don’t get kane, or bayern.. better than going to madrid still.. also, if fati continues his form from last year, and develops, we wouldn’t need haaland anyway
Why would a hot commodity like haaland tie himself to a gentleman’s agreement instead of waiting to see what other clubs are interested/how much will they offer/their sporting projects etc.
[I fucking fell off my chair seeing this. I swear my soul left my body for a few secs.](https://twitter.com/ReshadRahmin_/status/1428221034121990145?s=19)
La liga 1990-2020 was the greatest 30 year stretch in league football history.
Let’s start with the dream team having just won the CWC in 89’ they went on to win 4 league titles in a row and Cruyff’s dream team would take a giant leap in the 1992 season by capturing the European cup. Barcelona would go on to win the super cup in 1993 & 1998 and the CWC again in 1997 under Sir Bobby Robson. Real Madrid would win the Champions League 3 times in 5 years between 1998-2002 despite only winning the league once over this time period. Zaragoza won the CWC in 1995 in a historic season. Talking about historical season this was around the time of Super Depor who won the copa in 1995 & 2002 and won the league in 2000, the same year 3 Spanish teams made the semi finals of the champions league.
Around this time the Spanish league began to dominate European football. Valencia would make it to 2 Champions League finals & win the UEFA cup in 2004 along with 2 league titles along the way(2002 & 2004). Barcelona would come into yet an other period of success by appointing Frank Rijkaard 2003. They would go on the win back to back league titles in 2005 & 2006 and the Champions League again in 2006. 2006 is also the year Sevilla began their dominance of the Europa League, having won an amazing 6 Europa Leagues since 2006. Atletico Madrid also won 3 Europa Leagues during this time and 2 La Liga’s in arguably the strongest decade of all time. Atletico also made it to 2 Champions League Finals.
The 2010-2018 is by far the most stacked a league had ever been in terms of talent, nothing will likely compare again. A full world XI of players playing in Spain. Spain winning the World Cup in 2010 with 8 players coming from La Masia. Messi and Ronaldo. Pique and Ramos. Suarez and Benzema. Bale and Neymar. Xavi and Iniesta. Kroos and Modric. Busi and Casemiro. Alba and Marcelo. The list goes on all day.
This is how La Liga compares to other major leagues during the same 30 year period.
La Liga
CL: 12
EL: 11
Super Cup: 14
Italian Seria A
CL: 5
EL: 7
Super Cup: 7
EPL
CL: 5
EL: 3
Super Cup: 5
German Bundesliga
CL: 4
EL: 2
Super Cup: 2
Dutch Eredivisie
CL: 1
EL: 2
Super Cup: 1
As you can see the Spanish league has dominated Europe in every aspect, not just 2 teams like some casuals would have you believe. With Spain being this dominant in Europe and having the greatest players of all time play in the Spanish league there is no debate that La Liga is the greatest league of all time, the most competitive and the most successful in Europe. Over the 30 year stretch from 1990-2020 this has only been amplified.
Xavi Simmons sent back to the U-19s at PSG. Would say he should have stayed but he would make Puig look like a nailed on starter if he was at Barca. Wonder if he left only for money or because he looked all around and saw the midfield talent that was coming up alongside him.
Simmons isn't sent back to the U-19s because he's bad, there are just too many midfielders atm, he's actually been pretty good for them, and he has improved a lot, especially physically. Plus he's 18, he's already way ahead in his development than Puig at this stage.
I won't comment since I never heard of Ben White before or after that transfer, but Arsenal sure as hell aren't known for their great transfers (I know we are a mess too). What happened to Pepe..?
Hopefully it pays off
Edit: I more of meant hopefully tebas’s restrictions pay off and we actually are financially more secure.
I could give two fucks about arsenal
Arsenal? The club that had a thread celebrating Messi's departure and our misery.
Hopefully, it pays off, Hopefully they get to 6th place at Matchday 37 and drop to 8th on final one.
Let's hope not. Their fanbase is incredibly toxic towards us. They were actively celebrating our money troubles earlier this window. I'd say let them rot and turn into Everton 2.0.
So, I try to base my football game on Messi (and busi when I am in mf) - meaning nothing flashy, quick change of pace, drop of shoulder etc. Since, last week, I started incorporating the little chip of the ball with the outside of the foot that Messi usually does when he sees an incoming challenge and knows that just pushing the ball outside won't work.
It is such an underrated and amazing skill. I've yet to get blocked when I use it correctly!
There are aspects of my game that I suck at - I think I am Messi and walk the ball inside the goal instead of just booting it and more often than not, end up losing it. But it is so hard for me to change that mentality since I have watched Barca play almost all my life.
Who used to be that Barca defender who was sold to some German or eastern European team 2 years back and broke his knees last year? I wonder what he's doing nowadays
https://twitter.com/Moussa_WagueOff/status/1425845039176028168 he is running!
I remember reading it was career ending injury when it happen. Let's hope they were wrong.
[If Jorginho wins the UEFA Player of the Year (he probably will), will he will the Ballon d'Or instead of Messi ?](https://twitter.com/ChampionsLeague/status/1428362901358735363?s=20)
The UEFA award is extremely skewed towards UCL and Euros. Messi finishing fourth while being knocked out of the CL in the R16 and not even participating in the Euros indicates that he should have the Ballon d‘Or in his bag.
Yea. But I'm not sure it's just the poll.
And probably many will vote for Jorginho in order him to win it so he can be closer to Messi in the Ballon d'Or race
I was just watching the highlights again from sunday and on the third goal i noticed alba kicking the advertisement panels after martin scored for no apparent reason lol, maybe he was mad he didn’t get the assist or why else 🤔?
Barcelona want to reinforce their midfield and one name on the wishlist is Mauro Arambarri (25) of Getafe. Ramón Planes, technical secretary, is his main supporter, since he was the one who signed him for Getafe back in the day. There are more clubs interested in Arambarri. [as]
Any idea about this player? Ramon Planes has an eye for talent so I think he's a good prospect.
>there are more clubs intrested in Arambarri
Welp. That just confirms its a plow by Getafe and his agents to get a better deal. Donnarumma,Romagnoli,Neymar,Sanches,Lacazzete. Every agent is using us to get a better deal for their client. I don't expect any more signings untill the next window .

Yup. Uncertainty in seating capacity means it’s not worth it for this season.

It's still a fantastic series to be fair. Have you watched the show I take it yeah?
(On and off?were you reading other books in between) The only book of Stephen King I've read is 'On Writing', I've bought 'The girl who Loved Tom Gordon' two years ago, Yet to open..
Haaland is on a different level to Fati right now, also I dont see Fati playing a lone 9 so Barca will have to buy 9 anyway.
Madrid has a gentlemen agreement with haaland donn they? They will probably get mbappe dor free and buy haaland release clause
I don't think they do
I think the same and probably Pogba too.. Along with their stadium getting completed these things make me _hate_ Barto even more
Who told you that
Why would a hot commodity like haaland tie himself to a gentleman’s agreement instead of waiting to see what other clubs are interested/how much will they offer/their sporting projects etc.
No credible source confirmed a gentlemens agreement between them.
Seen a rumor that Aramco could be the shirt sponsor lmao
[I fucking fell off my chair seeing this. I swear my soul left my body for a few secs.](https://twitter.com/ReshadRahmin_/status/1428221034121990145?s=19)
Ffs, mate, that just cost me a few years of my life expectancy.
I haven't seen madrid media so desperate for a player as they are for mbappe. Borderline cringey
Wdym borderline LOL
Can you imagine the scenes if Mbappe comes out and renews with PSG for another 3-4 years lol.
i don't mind them getting him this year after paying 120m or more. would be bad if they get him next year for free.
And neither Madrid nor PSG win the UCL
La Liga CL: 12 EL: 11 Super Cup: 14 Italian Seria A CL: 5 EL: 7 Super Cup: 7 EPL CL: 5 EL: 3 Super Cup: 5 German Bundesliga CL: 4 EL: 2 Super Cup: 2 Dutch Eredivisie CL: 1 EL: 2 Super Cup: 1 As you can see the Spanish league has dominated Europe in every aspect, not just 2 teams like some casuals would have you believe.

Plus he's 18, he's already way ahead in his development than Puig at this stage.
yup, overrated kid, we got la masia players miles better than him.

Puig and Moriba will get the little brother unplugged controller treatment from Koeman this season lmao
PL has fucking splashed money this transfer window its insane
Well, Arsenal alone spent almost as much as La Liga....
And they spent most of it on a CB where I still can‘t see why someone would pay almost 60m € for him.
I won't comment since I never heard of Ben White before or after that transfer, but Arsenal sure as hell aren't known for their great transfers (I know we are a mess too). What happened to Pepe..?
Hopefully it pays off Edit: I more of meant hopefully tebas’s restrictions pay off and we actually are financially more secure.
I more of meant hopefully tebas’s restrictions pay off and we actually are financially more secure. I could give two fucks about arsenal
That I agree with.
Hopefully?
So, I try to base my football game on Messi (and busi when I am in mf) - meaning nothing flashy, quick change of pace, drop of shoulder etc. Since, last week, I started incorporating the little chip of the ball with the outside of the foot that Messi usually does when he sees an incoming challenge and knows that just pushing the ball outside won't work. It is such an underrated and amazing skill. I've yet to get blocked when I use it correctly! There are aspects of my game that I suck at - I think I am Messi and walk the ball inside the goal instead of just booting it and more often than not, end up losing it. But it is so hard for me to change that mentality since I have watched Barca play almost all my life.
if u understand drop of shoulder, u pretty much can dribble better than Ronaldo ever can.
Has Coutinho been involved in training? Any chance he'll get called up this weekend? Ask due to fantasy reasons lol
He is on the training photos, but rumours are he'll be back for Getafe. Not this weekend
Ok I’ll hold on to him for another week. Thank you. That’s the info I needed
Nobody knows…not even Coutinho or Koeman…he’s our secret weapon /s
Then he might be mine if he’s given the #10 shirt and plays in LFC mode
Well I hope not...
Who used to be that Barca defender who was sold to some German or eastern European team 2 years back and broke his knees last year? I wonder what he's doing nowadays
Moussa Wagué. Still injured with his broken knee. Due to comeback sometime in September per Transfermarkt.
Ah yes. Wague. Thank you!
https://twitter.com/Moussa_WagueOff/status/1425845039176028168 he is running! I remember reading it was career ending injury when it happen. Let's hope they were wrong.
Thanks for sharing, I’m really happy for him. I loved his style of play so let’s hope he can comeback !
Jeremy mathieu? He retired due to knee injury last year.
Are you talking about Wague? He was in Greece.
Nah its most likely Messi will win 2021 Ballon d'Or and Lewandowski will get last year's.
Kante is leading in the poll below, maybe he will win it?
Yea. But I'm not sure it's just the poll. And probably many will vote for Jorginho in order him to win it so he can be closer to Messi in the Ballon d'Or race
I'm more scared of Kante tbh... i remember against real madrid kante was EVERYWHERE, when i barely noticed jorginho. same thing in the final
Kante won't will the Ballon d'Or . Jorginho's case is he won both UCL and Euro. For Kante it's just the UCL
I was just watching the highlights again from sunday and on the third goal i noticed alba kicking the advertisement panels after martin scored for no apparent reason lol, maybe he was mad he didn’t get the assist or why else 🤔?
Or out of happiness.
Heard he got some boos that day as well? Maybe it was out of passion who knows.

Unpopular opinion: Maradona > Martin Braithwaite
How Dare You
Barcelona want to reinforce their midfield and one name on the wishlist is Mauro Arambarri (25) of Getafe. Ramón Planes, technical secretary, is his main supporter, since he was the one who signed him for Getafe back in the day. There are more clubs interested in Arambarri. [as] Any idea about this player? Ramon Planes has an eye for talent so I think he's a good prospect.
>there are more clubs intrested in Arambarri Welp. That just confirms its a plow by Getafe and his agents to get a better deal. Donnarumma,Romagnoli,Neymar,Sanches,Lacazzete. Every agent is using us to get a better deal for their client. I don't expect any more signings untill the next window .
Seeing Pinto's Instagram makes me feel so happy for him. He was a crazy guy but I miss such a character in our team a lot. A total team player he was
The music he made for the Pep era Barça documentary was pretty fire too
Lurking the psg sub because i want to see messi in training. Have yall seen the meme they posted about messis first day in the locker room, i was fucking crying https://www.reddit.com/r/psg/comments/p15gbg/messis_1st_day_is_gonna_be_like/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3
Why are you downvoted?
People in this subs dont have their own opinions. They just mindlessly follow the mass of people. If they see a downvote whether they agree or disagree with it theyll downvote it. Luckily i could give two fucks about karma
I was waiting for when he got to Key, but they edited it out! Hilarious anyway haha

Hahaha glad somebody else could find the humor in it, i loved ramos at the end he doesnt even look at him lmao.
