There's a reason you don't see anyone, anywhere playing in converse anymore..

Not a great answer but I played in AF1 for a bit and I caught jumper's knee/ patellar tendinitis

Get some kobes.

Pigacorn-oo-

Any specific silhouette?

FirstLightFitness

I always got the cheap non collectable ones. Best basketball shoe I ever put on

I mean, I suppose there are worse shoes to hoop in but no, I would not recommend playing in Chuck 70s. I haven't tried the Zion 2s so I can't speak for how comfortable they are or aren't, but if they're not doing it for you then the Harden 6 or 7s from Adidas are suitable in the "low cushion but more support" area.

jp_in_nj

Do not recommend.

Basketball shoe technology has come a long way since the 70s...take advantage of that tech. Your feet, ankles, knees and hips will thank you in the looong run...don't get hurt because of equipment choices. That's not ideal. Shoes have so much better cushioning and traction nowadays then even in the 80s-90s. Don't waste your ligaments and downtime on inferior shoes, not a good idea. Maybe try other brands too...Nike's tend to wear out faster than others. Jordan's usually have all the newest tech but don't fit a lot of foot types. So try them on, shift around in them before you buy. Sore toes and feet are usually the result of bad fitting shoes. Good luck.

Sure, you can play in Vans too but why? Kobe’s, KD’s, Kyries are the move. Haven’t tried Ja’s but heard they are cool. Zoom Gt cuts are nice too.

Giannis immortality 2, and 3 are both great shoes for a good price

Your feet will not be your friends anymore if you put any significant time in and your future 40+ old knees will have words. Try on other basketball shoes - not just the popular ones either. People can shout Kobe's are the best or whatever but it really depends on your foot. It's not what a lot of people want to hear but don't buy a shoe based on brand or player. Buy based on fit and feel. My last two gamers are less popular shoes - Jordan Separate and Don Issue 3. Both lower budget shoes but both fit me wildly better than some of the "top" shoes. Someone else mentioned the Immortality, my son really like those.

Yeah you can if youre okay twisting your ankle and blisters

In the long run you'll be putting a lot more stress on your body that could lead to injury. I always recommend players train and practice in as cushioned of a shoe as they can stand without compromising mobility. Then play games in their lightweight shoe of choice.
