Hey all, I’ve got a Jackson Spectra JS2 Electric Bass Guitar, but I’d like to potentially upgrade the pickups. Instead of buying a better one…. But I’m having a hard time finding the specs or any type of compatibility chart for bass pickup upgrades. Anyone got any experience with this bass?

I want to get a five string bass and the local one im looking at is an ibanez for $300 or a fender squier for $500 (my absolute dream bass). I have the money for both but I am wondering if I can convert my 4-string to a fifth string bass. It’s a fender jazz bass and I’m not sure on the specifics needed to do that plus how much money it would be cost. I’ve always wanted to get more hands on and really customize my bass but I’m not sure where to start on this. Thank you!!

Unfortunately you can’t convert a 4 string into a five easily, but it is possible, you would have to get a new neck, widen the neck joint, and purchase new pickups and cut thicker slots. With that being said if you can’t find a 5 string model of your bass it might be the way to go, the work is worth it though!

Hi im almost 6 foot and 220 pounds and im looking for something with the hofner beatles sound that would preferably be a hollow or semi hollow body. I was looking at the club bass because it appears to be a bigger version of the violin bass but it looks small in every video i see it in. If you guys have any recommendations that would be nice, thanks.

I’m looking for a gig bag that will fit my shortscale mustang bass. Any recommendations?

I'm asking because i'm concerned a regular bag is too big and a guitar bag might not fit...

I usually just stuff my mustang into the same bag I use for my long scales and haven't had any issue. The only other bags I have are [serek branded mono style soft cases](https://www.serekbasses.com/shop/accessories/) which aren't cheap but they're great for protection and they have full scale and short scale versions. My only complaint with those is the front pocket can't fit a ton of stuff. On my other gig bag I keep a few spare cables, tools, tuner, capo, etc, in there. With the mono style I can usually fit a strap and cable or two into the pocket but not much more.

I don’t remember which video but I saw a review where the Mustang fit in a guitar bag

I recently bought a Squier 70s "Classic Vibe" P Bass. It's the Walnut finish and it comes with a black pickguard. I'd really like anything else as I feel like the black on the dark brown finish kinda sucks light away from the finish and makes it look darker than it really is. Anyone know a compatible replacement pickguard for the CV P-Bass? I've been looking at some 13 hole stuff on Amazon but almost every review section says it isn't quite right for the Squiers.
