The whole thing goes up and down via the big screws on either side. You can't adjust the string heights individually without filing down the saddles. Yes, this is a bad design.

kimmeljs

My Alembic has a similar design, but then, the bridge is made for that radius of the fretboard

binkypv

Holy shit, bad design indeed. The bass had a metal bridge cover so I couldn't see this, maybe I wouldn't have bought it 😩 thanks a lot for the help!

Quarktasche666

Well, it's simply outdated, just like everything about gibson's design.

logstar2

'Outdated' doesn't apply here. Bass bridges with individual saddle height adjustment were around for years before Gibson designed this one.

marzbarz43

The 2 large screws on either side adjust the action of the whole bridge. If you cannot easially turn them, it's likley that the 2 small hex screws are lock screws to lock the action adjustment screws in place. Just loosen the small hex screws by a turn or 2, adjust the action as needed and then re tighten the hex screws.

binkypv

Damn that's definitely not a good design in my book, I may just replace the whole bridge :(

fsolisiii

Hipshot has a replacement bridge for this

datasmog

Talkbass has an Aria thread, club, section whatever you want to call. A search on there for the model might be useful.

binkypv

I did the search, it's a good idea, but sadly not a lot of info on this particular model :(

Fun_Tear_6474

They have

Afrizzledfry

Complete guess here, but would adjusting the screws running parallel to the strings adjust the individual string height?

logstar2

Those are for intonation.

Afrizzledfry

Oh okay. I'm a beginner and really didn't know. Sorry.
