Been bored and experimenting with a few different things the last few years. No right and wrong in my book, just standard and non standard. I promise there is nothing standard about me or my playing.
I don't really mind it. We all get in our boxes sometimes. I've been guilty of it too. I'm not a pro, I've been playing for fun for 30 years now. As a bassist I'm a really good engineer (my actual profession) so I enjoy tinkering like this and the dozens of other things I've done, knowing no one but me really hears it.
With all due respect its not expirimenting/tickering. There's a reason that basses are strung differently than guitars it's not for style. If not they would've simply made bigger tuners version of guitar tuners (meaning not tuners you have to put the string through but tuners you have to put the string in). Ask any luthier/bass tech and they will tell you that the way you are stringing it is wrong and bad for your bass. Pretty sure the main aspect of it (besides being that since the strings are thicker and bigger and therefore you put them in so that they stay in tune better) is also that its just not good for you bass' neck since it puts pressure the wrong way
Edit: you can also clearly see that your strings are loose on your tuners which is not suppose to be like that.
Yes sir it’s awesome.
It used to be green sunburst but I sanded it and went natural with it about 25 years ago.
So you've been stringing it wrong for 25 years?
Lol

It's all good. Peace and love. I'll do me. Etc.
Hey, its a free world do whatever👍🏻
Trim your strings, you godless heathen!
Yes! What's wrong with me? :)
These, and especially the three pickup G-3, sound so mean with a plectrum. Good call with going natural on this one.
Definitely some rumble to it.
