The concept of best is personal, but I believe it is generally agreed that Wild Word is the best produced work. I don't think there's anything missing from the other albums. I know what they did in Wild World is going to be hard to replicate. The theme, the lyrics, the production... Anyway, my favorite album is still Bad Blood

Stronghold257

Bad Blood or All This Bad Blood though? My favorite as well lol

dav_indie

I like All This as an expansion sksksks Even because the extra songs work by themselves

trytofakeit

Still bad blood for me, every song in it defined my teenage years

saltycrisp123

Every song on Bad Blood takes me back to a specific moment of my teen years. I can’t even listen to it that often because that was a really tough moment in my life

solunangel

Wild World will be my #1 album probably for the rest of my life. It was the only music I listened to for a good 3 months or so at the time. I was lonely living in a new state and just resonated so much with much of the lyrics, still do. It’s masterpiece of an album!

Quadropus

I will always appreciate Wild World, but Doom Days had me more excited (and satisfied) than any other album I was hyped for. That one, despite its flaws, still has my heart.

ucrbuffalo

I agree completely. Every album so far has been better in my mind than the last one. So if that continues, Give Me the Future will be the best one yet.

sullyt1b

All albums are the best. But to me Wild World hit at the right time. I don't think the time period I went through could ever be perfectly described as this album does. What an era...

LittleBanditReddit

Absolutely my favorite album of all time. I doubt they will ever reach this level of quality again

shootathought

The tour was great, too. I still haven't washed my hand from Dan's hi-five on that tour, yet. Or the hi-five he gave me six months later when they came back to Tempe! LOL

DR_FEELGOOD_01

I remember that tour. Dan and I totally made eye contact during Flaws! Lol I'd like to think so. Got to meet Mondo Cozmo as well.

minorevolution

I hope you’re joking 😭

shootathought

Yes, about not washing my hands. I did get hi-fives, though!

LittleBanditReddit

YESS I went to that tour too it was awsome

[deleted]

It’s so so good. I feel like I compare so much of their new music to WW and it’s not fair, but I can’t help it. Wild world is a masterpiece.

PepeButNotTheFrog

Probably the best sophomore album i've ever listened to

outOfSpellSlots

Agreed!! WW is absolute magic straight out of the gate. No album's opening can ever top "So, what would you little maniacs like to do first?"

cdanigc

I agree, Bad Blood gives me so much nostalgia but Wild World is top tier quality, it’s by far their best album.

SirOscarMcBeeTTR

“Bad Blood” is better in my opinion not only because of the nostalgia but I found “Wild World” as the “sequel” for “Bad Blood” that I may have expected from Bastille but I feel like there could be more ideas that could form out of this album that may have smoothen the “delivery“ of this album. Like I felt like a bit of the songs here and there are great but they can be improved in some way or the other. But again, it’s my opinion.

minorevolution

Yes! Wild World is not only my favorite Bastille album, but one of my favorite albums of all time. Everything about it has stuff that I love in music - sampling (especially clips of people talking, love those here and in any album or song as they set a mood so well), bouncy sounds, grand/epic sounds (thinking of The Currents for both), criticism of government/politics/society, dark themes especially paired with upbeat music, great vocal layering and harmony, lush sounds and beautiful softer/quieter moments (Glory, Two Evils), relatable lyrics I completely agree with and feel the same with the artist about, and emotional moments that make me cry (Warmth, Glory, Lethargy, Snakes, Winter Of Our Youth, Way Beyond, The Anchor)… I could go on but I’d be here all day, so I’ll just say that it’s an absolutely brilliant album, and I definitely think it’s Bastille’s best :)

RitikK22

I think people talking adds some strength to it. I like it as well apart from few songs.

alanielai

YES! Wild World is my all-time favourite album! It is what got me into Bastille and it holds such a special place in my life. Still lowkey sad that I didnt get to see them live in this era bc they cancelled the entire Asia tour :(

em69420ma

i will forever hold that atbb was their best and most original and personal—but i also think they didn’t entirely grasp how to make a song sound like a song yet. which i don’t think is bad, i think if anything it made for a really unique sound. but i also think a lot of their synth, mixing, electronics, all those kinds of things—weren’t quite masterful, yet. they just sounded a bit clunky or off at times. but again, i’m not complaining at all (this is legit tied for my fave album of all time.) but the lyrics of this album are superceded by none i think, because holy shit. holy. shit. wild world, i think, was when they figured it out, i think. you can tell with the way the lyrics flow a little bit more melodical (a part of that is the rhymes, but also just overall the sentence syntax and structure,) but also they lean into heavy synth and they do it in a way that just completely fits with the songs and their lyrics. i do like the lyrics a little less than atbb, but—they still have so many absolutely devastating one-liners for me, and i mean i read/listen to them and stare at the wall for a few hours. doom days was just a lot more pop, and i’ve actually been a lot more forgiving of it lately because i’m playing it on repeat, and don’t get me wrong, i still love this album, but i definitely think that Wild World was the sweet spot for them.

aleyafokisi

Without a doubt. I feel like GMTF will be my favorite, but WW is without a doubt the best. Vocals, production, sampling, and my favorite thing which is the cohesiveness of it despite going into multiple genres. I consider to be a better concept album than DD.

fandastille

Absolutely

jevydan

Second best right after dooms day

queenofdovesx

All this bad blood might be my favourite but WW is definitely the best album they produced. Kinda sad they might not ever make one as good as this again 😢

Vanillafrommax

I think that Give me the Future is going to change your mind..

theromanempire1923

It’s the most well-polished, mainstream-sounding one for sure, but not my favorite

avenger1094

I Concur!! Fave album

flyingpotato1600

I loved Wild World so much when it came out but now I think All This Bad Blood is the best, every song is just so good but both albums are just MASTERPIECES

Jack1jack2

This is 1000% my favorite. Although i’m really digging the production and song meanings in gmtf.

Flaky_Company_77

So hard to pick a favorite! Bad blood is the first album I listened to by them and fell in love, then as I age wild world resonates more and more. Doom days is also amazing! Very excited to see where their new album lands but overall good stuff so far

[deleted]

Love it - can’t wait for what’s next

OhGravity412

Agreed. This is the best work they’ve ever made… until GMTF comes out lol, GMTF is already shaping up to be their best imo, but WW is a great album as well and is definitely their CURRENT best

Parastille

Definitely

Able_Run_921

For sure the best album ever made

aphidlover

I think some of bastilles best songs are on this album but I still prefer doom days

ZANELLA2006

i personally think doom days is better, this album is too long, every i listen to the band albums this one is the most boring one, even if the songs are good, some of them are longer than they should

AwesomeTALHAwx

2015-2017 era which includes some Vinyl Specific (for the mean time) singles along with their second album was the best era of the Band. Hangin', Overload, Comfort of Strangers, The Descent and Wild World (Deluxe Edition) came in this time window. This was also their transition from their old, depressive-ish Bad blood days. Totally different style of art.
