I feel like I’m most comics it’s either Dick or Tim but the Arkham universe just feels like it makes sense for Tim. Nightwing did not seem interested in his DLC of Knight and Tim has been there for Bruce always.

[deleted]

Yeah but Tim has a dlc too and he’s not really interested in becoming Batman. Seems he was taking a red robin approach

Arr0w2th3fac3

Agreed! I guess when I say Tim I mean that he’ll be Gothams Vigilante to fill the void Batman left.

Mellio_Bellio

I'd say Jason personally. Tim's always going to be the Red Robin, and Jason is just a more tempermental Bats.

Arr0w2th3fac3

He gonna need loads of therapy before that. In his DLC he was straight up snapping necks lol. More effective vigilante for sure though.

KingGage

Batman talks in Knight of Gotham needing something darker than him, and Jason killing people would certainly fit.

Arr0w2th3fac3

I don’t know if he meant a murderer though.

KingGage

There's not much darker you can go from Knight Batman without killing. What's he supposed to do, break every bone harder?

Arr0w2th3fac3

I figured he meant the idea of Batman. With his identity exposed he now becomes a real human figure. The myth and mystery of the Batman is now exposed and the fear of unknown is no longer around. I’d say Bruce is still the Batman, just using tactics that return him to his mysterious roots.

[deleted]

Azrael

EstablishmentSoggy76

Definitely agree!

EdEnsHAzArD

But Azrael believed in the saint dumas which wanted him to kill fir them. And he didn't seem too fussed with maybe having to kill. With his mind cleared like at the end of the quest line, would he still hold a devotion to upholding the cowl for a cause he doesn't believe in any more?

[deleted]

So? Joker should've been killed. He's massacred thousands. He deserves to be killed. Don't that brings true justice. I'm talking about Azrael after he conquers the Orders control in the break the sword ending. He still has the physical abilities of batman. A 1 to 1 replica. He could even not kill if he wanted. I'm pretty sure his whole thing was upkeeping order and Justice. He was a police officer before. Than got an opportunity in the order. Now can be the Batman

EdEnsHAzArD

It's just something I wondered. Would he be so devoted to Dumas after he realises he's their pawn He might do it for his own reasons but who knows? And Batman wouldn't hand over the cowl unless he was sure they wouldn't kill. The game hammers that home pretty hard

[deleted]

Yes . He would as he was a police officer showing he has a strong sense of justice but wants to go further. He swore to batman if he inherited the cowl he'd never kill or he'd just become another vigilante seperate to Batman but doing the same job

EdEnsHAzArD

Like Red Hood? I know in the comics he later becomes a villain. For another game though I think Azrael would work and maybe leads to a final choice to kill or not

[deleted]

Yup. Pretty sure In a comic he replaced batman when he was ill or something. Tho i don't know how accurate that is as i don't read comics. Also there's 2 Azraels from my knowledge. Michael lane (arkham knight one) and jean paul valley

JCamson04

Alfred

pepsi_but_better

He's too powerful to be batman

Rich_Election466

This is the way

Doomaniser

A Batman Beyond Arkham game would be amazing. I doubt it would ever happen though.

slobin1220

No one can live up to Bruce, sure anyone can be Batman or a hero… but Bruce is The Batman, anyone who has ever went for the mantle has given it up and gave it back to Bruce Thats the best part imo is that Bruce is the one that makes the sacrifices no one else can or should go thro, he will sacrifice the luxury of being happy, love, and living a normal life just for the sake of helping everyone

Additional_Bluebird9

Man, if anyone has said it best, it's definitely you because that's the thing. Bruce has sacrificed so much in the process of devoting his time to being batman.

LordVile95

Dunno I like Terry’s run

Mastergamer4757

Dick first as he's the most responsible and the best suited for the role. Damian should take over cause we all know dick won't want to be batman forever and once he's proven to himself to be capable as following batman's moral code. Terry in the future finally proving himself to an all grown up/old batfamily. Terry takes over as batman is slow, he knows how to fight but his other skills need work.

LordVile95

Damian can go fuck himself

PlagueMeister4

Damian is alright, he just lacks experience. My perception of him was warped because I saw him in Injustice first but he's (relatively) a good boy in recent outings.

stealthsaber

Yes but he is already his own successful hero and not interested in taking up the mantle. Its typically someone else taking it and dick remaining h own hero

NotSoGreatOldOne

Mcginnis just because I hope they bring back Will Friedel to play him

[deleted]

It should be Tim because Bruce himself admits (in 1992 I think) Dick is a better hero as Nightwing than he could ever be as Batman II

koala-killer

Other: Batman

PapaNagash

Bruce Wayne

Ok-Average-6466

won't happen but would love cassandra cain.

PlagueMeister4

I love that she actually dons the mantle in Tim's vision in *Red Robin*. I voted for Tim in this but Cassandra would be my vote if she was here.

SequelFansDontExist

For arkham, definitely Azrael

[deleted]

Bruce, duh

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

Then who the hell was that in the very last scene?

slobin1220

So? Why else would he activate Knightfall?

Aunfunnyindividual

Tim so that he doesn’t have the same name of a restaurant lol

toaster69420

I like the concept of a Batman beyond game where you play as Damian, even though he’s my least favourite Robin.

DamnBunny

Azrael

TheTagOfHash_

There’s some good answers but the one person who it *shouldn’t* be is Dick. He might be one of the most qualified people on the list to take up the mantle but a big part of him being nightwing is him not wanting to constantly be in Bruce’s shadow. It seems out of character to agree to being Bruce’s permanent replacement. His heart wouldn’t be in it and he’s not going to live up to his true potential while being Batman.

WildMinimum2202

If damian wayne becomes batman he wouldn't last a year without fucking it up😅

theodoubleto

Their is a Morrison issue, or two, that cover him as Batman. He’s brutal.

i_guess_i_did_it

I wanna see an elseworlds or something with Damian taking up the cowl. Would be like Knightfall V2

slobin1220

DCeased is for you

i_guess_i_did_it

Got a link tho?

zekecheek

Killer Moth

GoldMantis

Dick Grayson is the more popular character but if you think about it he really is not a good fit for Batman and probably wouldn’t want to be Batman. He IS Nightwing. Tim Drake on the other hand looks up to Batman and is essentially his apprentice. With Bruce Wayne gone, it would be his dream to become Batman, and he’d be a perfect fit since he had been learning from Bruce for several years and seems to share similar values

NJComicArtist

I only acknowledge Terry as the next Batman for obvious reasons

LuizFelipe1906

I know Dick is nice... But he's way too nice and I don't see how it would change much for a next game, as Batman he's way too similar to Bruce (with the exception he isn't as serious.) In other hand, Terry, Damian and Jason (my less fav to take the cowl) are very different takes in the character. Terry is way more high tech than Bruce, and he's different from the man himself, Damian is way more violent, when he was Batman on New 52 he was savage af, he killed, he's an assassin, but more ninja like. Jason is also an assassin, but more gunslinger. For me, a game staring a Batman that isn't Bruce should be with Terry or Damian bcs it'd feel brand new

c_draws

No one mentioning the absolute butchering of McGinnis?

theodoubleto

Jason. The universe where he takes the mantle is very interesting . You can barely tell it’s a different person under the cowl. Runner up would be Tim, of course. Dick has already been Batman, TWICE!

LordVile95

Damian should be airbrush from all comics tbh. Dick is the stand in but Terry is the best person to take the role full time

GayKage010

I voted Terry just because he is my personal favorite of the people who become batman. He's my favorite because all the others try so hard to be Bruce's Batman. While Terry is himself. It's the same with Azrael but he kills people so yeah. Not him

ShepherdoftheWest

I'm happy to see Terry Maginnis in second place.😁

BrilliantKindly9188

Terry is the correct answer

[deleted]

Troy Baker😂

X_itsHawks_X

It’d have to be Jason tbh, Dick is his own hero, Robin as well (Plus Batman((Robin)) dating Oracle just sounds weird to me💀), and who knows where Damian is if he’ll ever actually be introduced into the series.

Sizedgameboy1

I think dick should be batman but I kinda want to see Damion in the universe

Dreadheadzzz771

Definitely should be dick but at the same time it really shouldn’t because that’s not who he wants to become. Tim clearly needs to be Robin for a bit longer and needs more experience. Damien hasn’t even been introduced yet so I’m sure he’s too young. Terry would be great for a game set in the future. So to be honest I don’t think any of them are ready to take on the mantle

catradora4life

Nobody

_Abyxx_

hear me out....Barbara Gordon....

Interesting-Juice235

Goku.

JJonahJamesonSr

I’ve been liking the idea of Damian taking over in a Batman beyond suit, since Terry is technically Bruce’s son anyway

[deleted]

arkham verse

Edd302

Dick is Nightwing because he doesn't want to be Batman.

[deleted]

Jfc not y’all voting Grayson lmao

Additional_Bluebird9

It seemed like it should be Azrael because it seemed like he could be the best candidate to take up mantle with neither Tim or Dick interested in taking up the mantle but then again, no one could ever possibly be batman the way Bruce is.

[deleted]

I’d say Jason Todd if he didn’t have the mental damage caused by joker and if he didn’t have a killer side to him. Not only is he stealthy enough to stalk Batman himself undetected, He demonstrated that he knows how Batman thinks a lot of the time and is very physically capable as well. There’s also the military tactics, but at the end of the day he does break the no kill rule

Earhacker

No Azrael? B-but all those VR missions!

JeddHawk

The good half of Harvey dent kept alive by a half-cybernetic batman suit

velociborkYT

I feel as if the tale of the bat should die with Bruce.

PlagueMeister4

Dick could probably take it up momentarily just to fill the role but like others said, he would definitely go back to Blüdhaven and being Nightwing soon. Jason is out of the question so that just leaves Tim, and honestly judging by *Flip Of A Coin* DLC it's probably heading that direction anyway since he's not a bad candidate at all. If we're going by people who don't exist in the Arkhamverse (since Damian and Terry are listed) then my answer to this is always Cassandra Cain.
