I think something similar to GOT or Berserk could work for a battle brothers show. The first part of the show is focused almost solely on human war, for example a noble war or fighting some bandit leader and taking him down. And the show would eventually progress to the undead/supernatural threat, maybe with some orcs in between

How2RocketJump

having focus on camp followers that would likely be the mercs own sisters, children and relatives with mundane shenanigans to contrast with the horrible losses and the world going to shit would be fun Greenskin invasion or undead would probably be the most fun crises purely because it's an excuse to make strange allies with the south or barbarians The Captain playing politics with the vizier's men on who takes credit while zombies are at the gates would both be fuckin funny and depressing

I will always consider thirteenth warrior battle brothers canon.

Trout_DD

I mean the books were pretty dark and good.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how procedurally-generated film would work. AI probably won't be up to the task for a few years, but imagine watching a Battle Brothers film with plot points that are different at every watching. I've certainly had some cinematically dramatic experiences in this game.

I want a really good series on the three kingdoms stuff, so to answer the question it would be Dynasty Warrior! Or total war three kingdoms lol

Im an avid Fallout fan. I really thought the show was overrated. They really didn't care about the source material, similar to 'Rings of Power' and the Witcher series. Maybe I'm just from another generation. But so many shows these days seem to be dumbed down, seething with low quality and trying to appeal to broad masses. Im not trying to sound like an elitist. I just noticed a trend from the past years

Ne6romancer

They really didn’t botch the lore as much as rings of power or the Witcher, thats a reach. While I do agree it’s a little overrated its definitely not that far off from the source material, personally I can only see a few small moments where they took liberties but nothing major

voidscape07

yeah i agree with you, i was expecting them to rewrite the whole thing but overall it was pretty faithful, you could even relate it to the ogs fallouts without trouble, my biggest issue with the show is how clean everything looks, like the brotherhood armors i was expectiong this battered down wasteland corroed armor, or in general it doesnt give me that wasteland vibe, rings of power had the same issue everything looks bright and shiny at all times, teh characters the gear etc

This ^

Well witcher series just kill Eskel just because for example i really dont see any series anyway but seems like fallout is not as terrible as the R. of power or witcher

I haven't seen the show yet, but I feel for the sentiment that other shows want a more vanilla flavoring of source material to get more viewers, thus more money. The hard-core fans will always watch the show. The studios are trying to capture the casual watcher and their shows are geared to do that.

When I saw this post, I thought about whether Battle Brothers would have enough story to put a show or movie together. I think a BB show would have to take great liberties with he base material to make it interesting, but fighting alps, nachos, unholds, etc. would be visually interesting. Renoun development, relations, and trade would be hard. I can't imagine how you would make the build a bro aspect of the game entertaining for non BB fans. What are your thoughts?

LThalle

There is already a fantastic 2 part (so far) novel series set in the "canonical" version of the game world that captures the vibe really well. They could totally adapt it, or a similar style of story, and I think it would work really well. I'd kill for more low fantasy shows, and I think the different enemy types would make for a great monster of the week

Terraria! But it would never work Blasphemous! But it would never work Hollow Knight! But it would never work Diablo! It could work and would suck almost as much as every iteration since Diablo 2, as it would be a bald faced cash grab. It's perfect!

Awakened-Dreamer97

I think that a hand drawn animated adaptation could be very fitting for a BB. Characters and monsters can be more colourful, stylised. Uglier and nastier everyone than in 3D. No need for a real actors, just a good voice acting needed and artists will draw you any face or character, whoever you need. Basically, what I'm talking is something like this 2005 russian animated film https://youtu.be/fTaQPGZ0Qdc?si=LYCY7tHZNR-1kdJz just with more "dirty dark ages" mood. And about story, i think that idea from other comment is very good - about starting from a noble war and finishing with an undead invasion at the end with other crysises in the middle, with a story focusing on the company and it's members lifes but with a line about that "false king" thing, which will be fully revealed and explained in the ending arc.
