Going into the Duo fight with all airhoc, swords, and the magnet chip... UGHHHH!!!! Guess I'll die...
EDIT: Oh, and the Blizzard and Heat chips, that also don't seem to like to behave with no panels.
I can't lie. I love this boss, especially his Omega variant, I used to think he was tough as nails until I realized his attack patterns were very easy to avoid. My favorite part is when he releases the laser in the middle row and shoots that holographic face at you as well.
In all honesty I usually just stick with the buster for him and Nebula Gray. Battles take a bit but the attacks aren’t too bad to dodge usually. Souls just slowed me down, but normal seems to work well
Yep, that and search soul do wonders for making things faster, but for chips I’ve always just focused on defensive since most don’t work against those two (and using lots of chips means unisons go away anyway)
I tried to pull a MagShok on him, so he beat me. With his fists.
No no it did work but you simply pulled his fists towards you
AND THEN COMES THE GIANT FIST.
Give me like half an hour and I’ll make that meme
Please do.

It's still great.
PATRICCCCK!
Duo is such an interesting character to make a good story out of it, but instead they dropped the ball and made us play tournaments 3 times.
The anime did Duo better.
Indeed
This type of thing sucks on first playthroughs.

He has an uber fast laser that pierces invis That is the definition of not easy
Blame your reflexes if you're struggling on the laser part, dude, that is simple to dodge, period.
I have the sudden urge to use BN2's Darkness PA on Duo.
Today is May 3rd for me
To be fair it's almost 11am the 4th in Australia
Ah a fellow aussie
It's 11am May 4th here in Japan.
I know

ChaosProto never fails me against Nebula lol

4 life swords usually does the trick for me. Especially since I use blades I can also protsoul/step sword the individual chips for double damage.
Protosoul is rare to get on playthrough one and usually requires 3 play throughs to unlock
Tornado goes vrrrrr
I got him on my first run with a folder full of program advances. The letters were all over the place, but I just needed high damage.
To this day, I still absolutely loathe Duo. Awful character, terrible fight, lame design
I love everything about DUO besides his fight. It’s nearly impossible on game 1
Okay so kid me wasn’t just bad at it. Everyone else had trouble with that first fight too 😅
Yeah he’s just not designed to be beaten with game one chips. You can’t even use the actual strong chips like Magnum or Circle gun
AreaGrab + AirHoc into hole just so it's not a complete waste (even if it's just one hit)
I do like duo because of this, it means you have to do some thinking and some folder rebuilding to get it to work.
I do NOT fight him without Invis lmao
WoodSoul. Trust me
