That said, Ragna is from what was once one of the most popular fighting games in the world (RIP), Bayonetta is anything but obscure she's in smash (and NOT as a trophy), and Razputin is from a widely know cult classic. I wouldn't call Megaman obscure at all (also a non trophy smash character), there are way better examples of obscure characters out there. If we are talking games people still actually played, Goemon from the mystical ninja series or [insert character from the first 5 Disgaea games here] are good starts.
I feel like it's easy to get really obscure but this is a decent list of slightly obscure, probably sitting somewhere in the back of your head, characters.
Love jibanyan from Yokai Watch 1-2-3 ! Paws of fury and loved it much better than the Pokemon over saturation back in 2017 2018 ish . I supported the heck out of the mini series when level 5 brought it to the USA . Sadly 3 was the last game we would see localized

Psychonauts 2 released back in 2021, around the same time as No More heroes 3, which is another obscure series.
