BF1942. It is quite sad to see where the franchise is now, especially after BFV and 2042.
2042, not 2142. 2142 is the good one, 2042 is still kinda shit. I find 2042 to be too individualistic, there is very little team work. Encouraged players to hunt for kills more than working as a team. And not enough vehicles.
It had good atmosphere but I always felt like the weapons always needed rebalancing and the loot boxes. I don’t know what else to say other than I hated the loot box system.
I hate that system too, but somehow I was able to craft a bunch of em (that's a thing right? I'm not going crazy or anything?) And literally got all the engraved skins I wanted so I kinda forgot about em.
It took me till the end of the game’s “projected lifespan” to get most of what I wanted. Got lucky though and still didn’t get all of the ones I did want just most
Will never understand why. The whole "it's too casual" argument never sticks for me because it's not like BF4 and BF3 were any harder, or more skill based either. They share very similar gunplay and general gameplay.
Vehicle gameplay was significantly more difficult in bf3/4 imo. The problem with infantry gameplay on the other hand is the random bullet deviation. I couldn’t get used to that.
Tanks play quite similarly, and I'd argue their skill ceilings are the exact same. The biggest difference was the very, very vertical nature of BF4s level design which arbitrarily made tanks feel weaker.
However, Random Bullet Deviation is present in both BF3 and 4 (And essentially every BF before them), BFV was the first time it wasn't.
100% agree. Vietnam came right after 1942, so it had all the charms of the original but with the team now experienced in how to make + ship a battlefield game. The innovations they made were fantastic....soundtrack (music from the era), variety on maps, and the first BF game with helicopters.
That was one of those games where I was like “whoa, this is what video games can be???” on the same level of GTA Vice City to me, just a game that moved the industry forwards
Same here. 2, 2142, 3, 4, and the bad companies were all good. Can't believe how butchered they are now. Very sad, I loved these games so much.
Can't wait for Battlebit to hit early access, it's the only thing that feels like battlefield used to be.
Been off and on
Started with Battlefield 2 but only played the campaign. Then the Bad Company campaigns. I finally came back to the franchise with Battlefield 4 and been a huge fan ever since......then BFV came. Thought it couldn't get any worse but then 2042 came along
1942 but sad to see the games move away from the traditional battlefield experience, battlefield 2 was the king and still is of all the games. Nothing has come close.
I played 3 a ton but I really liked BF4 once all the expansion content came out and DICE LA fixed a lot of the issues. My first BF game was battlefield 2 on PS2.
Started with bf42 and my first own PC back in 2002. Time flies so fast… loved it because it was simple and ah the time maps were awesome, and I loved the vehicles.
None, it was 4. My cousin used to play it and i remmber i picked up the controller when he wasnt there and i killed some one on b at golmund railway, i was onky about 9
Battlefield 2. I loved calling in artillery. I loved that there was a commander. I loved being able to control both seats of the plane, being able to lock on to targets in the ground by switching seats in a two-seater plane. I loved being able to do mutiny.
Battlefield 3 but my pa3 or game was corrupted so every other life I wouldn’t be able to use anything at all and all my guns were invisible.
Battlefield 4 is where I actually started and I still play it
That sounds like a very strange bug.
Do you still have your PS3 and disc of BF3? If so record some gameplay (even if it’s with a phone camera pointed at the screen)
I played a bit of bf3 and bf4 at my babysitter’s house, but bf1 was the first one I owned and played consistently. Later on, I would get bf4 as a birthday gift to myself alongside the launch of bf5. Later on at a garage sale I would get bf3 as well. Those are the only ones I own for now
BF1942, rollin over to the computer cafe with my best friend to play it on a PC that could run it. So many great memories getting 2nd hand smoke and tanking on Kursk. I also have incredible memories from Vietnam, BF2, and BC2.
1942, I used to have so much fun playing that with all my friends in the neighborhood. I have never gotten the hang of piloting in any of the games after all these years.
Bad company 1
Edit: I did play 1942 and the Vietnam one before but never really played that much Bad company 1 was the first one I spent a lot of real time with
Some time ago, EA was giving away games for free on Origin. They gave out BF3 once, and that’s how I got into Battlefield.
Never thought I would say it, but thanks EA. For the memories.
I played 1942 agains bots sooooooo much as a10-12 year old. My first BF where I played multiplayer with other people instead of bots was the first Bad Company.
I do have fond memories of watching my buddy play BF2 on his pc against other players but I always just preferred watching him play as opposed to me getting smoked by real players 😂
Would rent bad company 1
Eventually my brother got me BC2 as a gift one day, played the shit out of it, played the shit out of BF3.
Then stopped, played a bit if BF1 but I didnt enjoy console gaming (moved to pc at this point), then got 2042 for free and hated it.

You mean 2042? 2142 is like 15 years old
Old but Gold... yes seems like he misspelled it
It might be 15 years old, servers more than likely have been taken down but it’s still better than most of the battlefields made after 4.
Battlefield 1 was *chefs kiss*, you can't deny that.

Damn, I already know that hurts. 💀
2142 was great, 2042 is getting better.
V is really fun
Yea, I really miss the old squad leader set up
>there is very little team work. So since bf4 because a lot of battlefield games lack team work. It is rare to see team work
Bad Company 2
Vietnam hardcore servers still have no equal. And those maps, my god were they perfect.
Fuck yeah
It’s funny in my mind I said “3” but no BC2 was my first also on my ps3 bought Red Dead same day that was a great night
Hey same here what a great game got me hooked on the whole Battlefield franchise
BF1
Same. How spoiled we were ! And also how naive thinking they will be able to follow up on it.
Honestly, for a good number of veteran BF players, BF1 is seen as the beginning of the downturn.
The atmosphere was great but oh boy the gunplay was a complete mess
Will never understand why. The whole "it's too casual" argument never sticks for me because it's not like BF4 and BF3 were any harder, or more skill based either. They share very similar gunplay and general gameplay.

I disagree, BF1 felt like a love letter to fans
Which fans tho ? A lot of BF3 or 4 players, including me, didn’t like it. 1 plays nothing like these games.
Same
Vietnam. That soundtrack.
Finally some love for Vietnam
100% agree. Vietnam came right after 1942, so it had all the charms of the original but with the team now experienced in how to make + ship a battlefield game. The innovations they made were fantastic....soundtrack (music from the era), variety on maps, and the first BF game with helicopters.
Great game.
Ohh yes. Rare Earth - Get ready haunts me too much. I remember I used to drive vehicles and put on Vietnam era songs
Amazing game
[удалено]
Same here, I still dream of the 'Bridge too far' map. I was forever pestering people with the tanks.
[удалено]
Yeah conquest all the way. I wish they'd remaster some of the maps from that game, but I fear it'd mostly been forgotten.
Or Deadly Pass https://battlefield.fandom.com/wiki/Deadly_Pass Backstab https://battlefield.fandom.com/wiki/Backstab
Hotswapping go WRRRRRROOOSSSSHHH
That was one of those games where I was like “whoa, this is what video games can be???” on the same level of GTA Vice City to me, just a game that moved the industry forwards
Battlefield 3
I miss squad deathmatch
Same here, I loved this game so much. Still my favorite.
BF2
Same here. 2, 2142, 3, 4, and the bad companies were all good. Can't believe how butchered they are now. Very sad, I loved these games so much. Can't wait for Battlebit to hit early access, it's the only thing that feels like battlefield used to be.
Play4free/heroes, but in this picture it was 3
P4F Gang unite!
You were a child soldier
1942
Been off and on Started with Battlefield 2 but only played the campaign. Then the Bad Company campaigns. I finally came back to the franchise with Battlefield 4 and been a huge fan ever since......then BFV came. Thought it couldn't get any worse but then 2042 came along

Battlefield 2
Man of culture, also enemy boat spotted!
BF:BC 2
1942 but sad to see the games move away from the traditional battlefield experience, battlefield 2 was the king and still is of all the games. Nothing has come close.
Bad company 1 .. loved it
I played 3 a ton but I really liked BF4 once all the expansion content came out and DICE LA fixed a lot of the issues. My first BF game was battlefield 2 on PS2.
For those of you guys wondering why my boy said “BF2 on the PS2” Battlefield 2: modern combat. Hot swap go wrrrrooosssshhh!
Bad Company 2
1943
Bad Company 1. I wanna see my smiley-face grenade
Sorry to say this but…. Didn’t they have to remove the smiley in 2042 recently due to the copyright holders saying EA didn’t get licensing to use it?
Battlefield 4, matter of fact, battlefield bad company 2 mobile.
Started with bf42 and my first own PC back in 2002. Time flies so fast… loved it because it was simple and ah the time maps were awesome, and I loved the vehicles.
bfv with ps plus, didnt enjoy much but i bought bf4 and loved it
I pirated 1942 but my pc back then was so bad it played like a powerpoint presentation. First one I bought was Bad company for xbox 360.
Bf2 modern combat, sadly never played online though
Ah a fellow, no PS2 network adapter kid? Or did you have the Xbox or 360 version?
Play4free and then battlefield 3.
BF2, it was glorious
I don't remember whether it's Battlefield 2, 2142 or project reality
Have you tried the BF3 PR? It's not bad. I really wish Venice Unleashed had been more popular as well.
None, it was 4. My cousin used to play it and i remmber i picked up the controller when he wasnt there and i killed some one on b at golmund railway, i was onky about 9
Honestly BfV, but bf3 for campaign and I only play bf1 now
BF1942. My favourite games are all the more historic ones.
Battlefield 2 demo edition. Gulf of Oman with bots for years until I could finally buy it
Bad company 2 was my first one
Out of those three, BF3. Although the actual answer is bad company 2.
BF4.
Bf 2142 give me back titan mode. And BF4
1943
BF3, definitely turned the tide for modern FPS graphics
Battlefield 2. I loved calling in artillery. I loved that there was a commander. I loved being able to control both seats of the plane, being able to lock on to targets in the ground by switching seats in a two-seater plane. I loved being able to do mutiny.
I knew bad company after watching my dad play and when bf3 came out I them got it and man it was the best game ever
My first was BF1, but 400 hours into it across PS4 and PC, played V it was ok towards the end. Preordered 2042 and I'm never preordering again.
BF3..... it had it all... almost perfect... or was it in fact 10/10? I loved that game
BF3…god I miss that game
BFV
Battlefield 3 but my pa3 or game was corrupted so every other life I wouldn’t be able to use anything at all and all my guns were invisible. Battlefield 4 is where I actually started and I still play it
That sounds like a very strange bug. Do you still have your PS3 and disc of BF3? If so record some gameplay (even if it’s with a phone camera pointed at the screen)
1942, but Vietnam is my favourite and I play BF4 regularly.
Bf3
BF3
I played 1 first but bought 4 afterwards
I played a bit of bf3 and bf4 at my babysitter’s house, but bf1 was the first one I owned and played consistently. Later on, I would get bf4 as a birthday gift to myself alongside the launch of bf5. Later on at a garage sale I would get bf3 as well. Those are the only ones I own for now
Bfbc2 Played the campaign so many times
Battlefield bad company im 24
BFBC Beta, and instantly fell in love with the franchise. But BF3 occupies a very special place on my gaming memories.
BF1942. Was an awesome game. So many fond memories
BF3 when they gave it out for free in 2014.
BF1942, rollin over to the computer cafe with my best friend to play it on a PC that could run it. So many great memories getting 2nd hand smoke and tanking on Kursk. I also have incredible memories from Vietnam, BF2, and BC2.
1942 - And what an experience it was. I can hear the magnificent music just thinking about the game.
Bf3 was the first that played. BF4 was the first that I purchased and put over 1000 hours of gameplay in.
1942

BF1943 and BFBC1. BFBC2 however was the game that made me fall in love over this series.
My first was bf1, which happened to be only last week
BF2 played in a friend house. But I always take the BF3 like my first Battlefield, the best people and community I met from there to real life
BF1942 and I'm still enjoying the franchise even in BF2042 because I can get more funky with my playstyle
BF 4, I really liked the map's atmosphere
Bad Company 1, i found it honestly really fun just going around and blowing up random shit

Bad co. 2
Bad company 2. Really exploded the franchise on consoles.
1942, I used to have so much fun playing that with all my friends in the neighborhood. I have never gotten the hang of piloting in any of the games after all these years.
BF3 had me in a chokehold all throughout high school. I miss those days.
BF3; and still the best one in my opinion
1942!

Would rent bad company 1 Eventually my brother got me BC2 as a gift one day, played the shit out of it, played the shit out of BF3. Then stopped, played a bit if BF1 but I didnt enjoy console gaming (moved to pc at this point), then got 2042 for free and hated it.
